Volume 1: The Four Wars of the Type-Moon
Chapter 1: In Type-Moon, Awakening the Great Villain System
"Full, full, full, full..."
In the dark room, a man held an ancient book he had found somewhere, chanting incantations while dipping his foot in a thick, red liquid, seemingly painting something.
"Four times in a row? Four times? Or five times?... Ah! The drawing is crooked. Alas, what a pity, it's such a waste to have finally found this couple again, what a pity..." The man, with an air of regret and sorrow, accidentally bumped into a couple leaning against the sofa behind him. The couple, however, had contorted faces, their eyes wide open, as if they had died with their eyes wide open in despair. The pale blue sofa was already completely stained with dark red blood.
The red pigment the man used was taken from the blood of the couple. He drew the magic circle described in ancient texts to verify whether this ritual to summon demons was genuine.
This was the man's second act of murder, but he felt no discomfort whatsoever. Instead, he found something that brought him pleasure and fulfillment in the terrified and desperate eyes of the couple he had killed, which strengthened his motivation to continue doing so.
"Going to find another one? That shouldn't be... How could I have drawn it crookedly? This is so contrary to my art. Could it be that the chosen person isn't suitable, not good enough to be a sacrifice to summon the demon?" The man began to rack his brains, when suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him: "That's it! Fairy tales say that demons love children the most! Hahahaha! I get it! I get it!"
The depraved man set his sights on the next family with children. If this man, who kills to satisfy his own fetishes, were to leave this place, who knows how many innocent lives he would take to harm.
"Thorn-"
Suddenly, the space around the unfinished magic circle distorted, bursting forth with a blinding light. The man was startled, then overjoyed: "Hahaha! As expected, the demon has approved my idea. It's planning to bring forth the ominous sign ahead of time—uh!!"
Suddenly, the man noticed that due to the abnormally violent spatial fluctuations, the resulting spatial rifts had shattered everything within a one-meter radius, including himself, who was closest to the rift. His vision abruptly shifted to the ceiling, and the perverted man died inexplicably from the spatial rupture.
In that void, a young man in pajamas fell from it and landed hard on his buttocks on the floor, and the void closed up again.
"Holy crap! Where did my chair go?? I was having so much fun playing games... Where am I? What's that smell? Wait? What's that liquid behind my butt...!!! Ugh!!!" The man looked around in a daze, but then he noticed the pungent smell of blood and the still-wet blood on the floor. The man, who had never even killed a chicken, had never seen anything like this before, and he immediately started vomiting.
"Ding—Detected that the host killed his own kind on his first transmigration, bathing in blood, decisive and ruthless! Very consistent with villainous behavior, the system will automatically upgrade to the Great Villain System. Upgrading in progress..."
"Ugh...!! What...what is that? System? Villain? Did I transmigrate? Ugh..." The man was stunned when he heard the voice in his mind, but then the feeling of nausea came over him again, making him feel like he was going to throw up all the food he ate yesterday.
The vomiting... well, you get used to it after a while; humans are such adaptable creatures. Feeling his body had adjusted to his surroundings, the man, covering his nose, began to survey his surroundings. After finding the button, he immediately turned on the light. Under the white light, a man lying not far away, severed at the waist, his internal organs spilling out, looked even more terrifying, almost making the man vomit again.
"Damn it, have I been transported to a murder scene? Could the murderer still be nearby? Did I give myself away by turning on the lights?! Damn it, I, Wang Chong, don't want to die in a foreign land without knowing why! System, are you done yet?!" The man named Wang Chong was unaware that he was the culprit who caused the man to be cut in half.
"Ding—Your system upgrade is complete! Congratulations, host, on awakening the Great Villain System! As the saying goes, the way of Heaven is to take from those who have more than enough and give to those who have less than enough; the way of man is to take from those who have less than enough and give to those who have more than enough! Our great villains are here to plunder everything in this world! Doing whatever we please, without being bound by worldly constraints! Murder, robbery, and kidnapping women are just basic operations! Alright, host, a villain mission is now issued. Please complete any villainous action to earn villain points, which will grant you system certification and a wonderful newbie gift pack!"
"What?! I'm a model citizen, I wouldn't even kill a chicken, and you want me to go and kill people, rob them, or kidnap women?" Wang Chong felt like he'd misheard. These days, when you transmigrate and become the protagonist, aren't you supposed to do the things of a protagonist with a system? How come in my case, I've become a villain who does all sorts of evil?
"Host, don't be modest. You're a man bathed in blood, born to be a villain, a perfect fit for the system. Look, even though you've never killed a chicken, you've adapted to this scene very quickly, haven't you?"
"Furthermore, host, in this unfamiliar environment, you could encounter any mishap at any time. If you don't complete the mission and obtain the newbie gift pack to strengthen yourself, you might be killed by an unknown assassin. Host, you don't want to be slaughtered on your very first day after transmigrating, do you?"
The system's voice made Wang Chong's lips twitch involuntarily. He had no choice but to accept the system's existence, but he continued, "But you can't expect me to find someone to kill right now, can you?"
"Oh dear, host, I already said that as long as you exhibit villainous behavior, you can complete the certification. In other words, you don't need to kill anyone; as long as you perform villainous actions, you can earn villain points and complete the certification. I'm sure my clever host will be able to find the current certification method." The system patiently reminded you and praised you generously.
“Let me think… This fits the villainous behavior… which means as long as you do evil, right?” Wang Chong looked at the man who was already half-cut in the waist, and walked up to him. He was just thinking about whether kicking him a couple of times would complete the certification, but when he saw the exposed intestines up close, his stomach churned again. With a “vomit”, Wang Chong vomited again, directly onto the corpse.
"Ding—! Insulting Ryunosuke Uryu's corpse with vomit! This behavior is very much in line with villainous style! 100 Villain Points awarded! Congratulations, host, on completing your newbie certification and receiving a newbie gift pack! Wow, host, the system originally thought you just wanted to kick him a couple of times, so it only prepared 10 points as a token gesture. But it never expected you to commit such a desecrating act against a corpse! You are truly a model for all villains! The system is incredibly fortunate to have met you, host!"
The system showered Wang Chong with praise, practically elevating him to the heavens, making him resemble a lackey following the main villain, boasting and taunting him.
"Wait, wait, wait? Stop praising me. Whose corpse did you just say this was?" Wang Chong, having recovered, wiped his mouth and then asked.
"Ryunosuke Uryu".
"Holy crap, Ryunosuke! It was that pervert. No wonder it was so bloody around here, no wonder the blood drew a magic circle-like thing! I've actually transmigrated into the Type-Moon world! And during the Fourth Shinobi World War... Wait, how did this guy die?" Wang Chong was originally feeling sorry for his vomiting, but after finding out who it was, all his remorse vanished. If he hadn't found it disgusting, he probably would have kicked him a few more times.
"Hey, Ryunosuke Uryu was killed by a spatial rift because of the host's transmigration. In a sense, the host accomplished a solo kill." The system's tone became softer and softer for some reason, as if it was afraid that Wang Chong would discover something.
"So that's how it is. This is what I meant by the first time you killed your own kind... So you already knew there was no danger here, but you still deliberately deceived me, making me complete the authentication immediately so that I could bind to your system, right?" Wang Chong's voice turned unfriendly as he spoke.
"Hehe~"
"Hey, you son of a bitch! I don't want a villainous system like you that only knows how to brag and lie!" Wang Chong roared.
"Oh dear, I admit I deceived the host, but I had no choice... I'm the worst off in the system world. Those so-called protagonists and chosen ones all despise me and refuse to bind with me. If this continues, this system will starve to death and disappear into this vast universe... Waaah, I'll make it up to the host properly later. My benefits will be higher than ever before, and I'm sure the host will be satisfied." The system said in a pitiful tone.
"Tsk... Since you're already bound, let's not even talk about not knowing how to unbind. Even if you risk unbinding, there's no guarantee of a new system. Although there's no immediate crisis, this is the Fourth World War, the Type-Moon world, and danger could arise at any time. Since you're being so sensible, I'll let you off this time! But you'd better give me a good starter pack!"
"Yes! Thank you for your trust, host~ The system has upgraded the newbie gift pack! The super newbie gift pack has been claimed, would you like to open it?"
"Open."
"Ding—! Congratulations, host, you have gained 1000 Villain Points, an all-around boost to all physical stats, a ten-pull epic-level lottery draw, one legendary-level lottery draw, a guaranteed Heroic Spirit Summon and a Fourth Shinobi World War Participation Certificate (Command Seal), and a Villain Template."
"Hmm? That's all? But I feel much stronger." After a flash of golden light, Wang Chong felt his originally somewhat thin physique suddenly become very robust and muscular. His physical strength and mental state felt better than ever before. He figured this was all thanks to the all-around enhancement.
"Let's not rush the lottery and the summoning of heroic spirits. What is that villain template?" Wang Chong asked.
"The Villain Template, as the name suggests, allows the host to transform into a villainous character. After transformation, you will immediately gain the villain's peak strength, and after the time limit, you will retain the villain's basic abilities to enhance yourself. It is the most powerful tool for the host to quickly improve and protect themselves! You can activate it now and see which famous villainous character you can draw," the system reminded you.
"Alright, I'll give it a try." Wang Chong took out a golden card and began to draw it with his eyes closed. Then, a wisp of dark green mist appeared on the card, and a white-haired man wearing a green crown appeared on the card.
"Congratulations, host! You have drawn an S-class villain character—King of Ruin, Foyego!" the system notification sounded.
Chapter Two: Card Drawing Phase
"Congratulations, host! You have drawn an S-class villain character—King of Ruin, Foyego!" the system notification sounded.
"What? An S-class villain? I know about Foygo, but what's this about an S-class villain?" Wang Chong frowned and asked after hearing the system notification.
"There are currently three levels of villain templates: S-rank, A-rank, and B-rank. B-rank villains are basically common supporting villains, varying in quality and not very strong. A-rank villains are relatively better, being well-known main villains in various works, and their strength is naturally a level higher than B-rank villains. S-rank villains are basically famous and powerful villains, without exception, the kind of powerful characters who can influence the entire world," the system said.
"Hmph, that's certainly not bad. While Foygo's strength may not be among the absolute top tier, it's more than enough in the Type-Moon world, as long as you don't mess with those overly monstrous guys. Especially in this Fourth Shinobi World War, it's definitely more than sufficient." Wang Chong looked at the villain template card in his hand and put it into his pocket with satisfaction.
"So, host, would you like to participate in the lottery?" the system asked.
"Let's do the drawing. Right now, I feel like we should use it first... Let's do a ten-pull first, and we'll do the single pulls later," Wang Chong said after thinking for a moment.
"Alright, host, now we're starting an epic ten-pull... Congratulations, host, you have obtained the following items: Summoner Spells: Purify, Ghost, Flash, Skill: Feast (Ghoul), Passive: Relentless Combo (Weapon Master), Passive: Spider-Sense (Spider-Man), Culinary Mastery EX, Command Seal Erasure Card, Item Master-level Poké Ball, and Weapon: Ruined King's Blade (Upgradeable)."
Surprisingly, all the items were good. Apart from the strange "Master of Cooking" EX-level item, there weren't any useless or shoddy items.
"These are all pretty useful things. Even though being a master of cooking is a bit strange, cooking skills might actually be very effective in certain special situations." After absorbing these abilities, Wang Chong felt his brain was completely filled. He then began to examine these abilities he had acquired in detail.
First up are the summoning skills. Purify, as the name suggests, clears all negative effects from the player. It's unclear how far this Purify skill can go, and whether it can remove any negative effect. Ghost Walk and Flash are both relatively easy to use, both being great escape skills. Flash has a range of roughly 10 meters, and Ghost Walk lasts for 15 seconds, both very good.
Then there's the skill I acquired. Feast is a skill with a lifesteal effect, and its damage is based on 4% of the enemy's current health, ignoring any immunity or defense effects. This kind of percentage-based damage skill that ignores effects is indeed very powerful, but it's unclear whether its potential is truly as high as the skill description suggests.
The Relentless Combo attack is familiar; each attack grants a 3.5% attack speed boost for 2.5 seconds, stacking up to eight times. It's a simple yet incredibly useful speed-boosting skill.
Spider-Sense, one of Spider-Man's signature abilities, allows him to effectively sense danger. This way, at least he doesn't have to worry about being ambushed by some thug, or even getting his head blown off. Yes, I'm talking about you, Kiritsugu Emiya.
His culinary skills were superb, nothing much to say. What caught Wang Chong's eye, however, was the Command Seal Erasure Card, though the description differed slightly from his expectations. This card didn't erase all Command Seals, but rather reduced the extra strokes to just one. This made Wang Chong feel it was somewhat useless. But then he suddenly thought of a certain priest who later turned to the dark side, and this card seemed quite useful.
When he examined the Masterball closely, he was quite clear about its 100% capture rate. However, when he saw the last sentence in the description, Wang Chong was stunned and couldn't help but rub his eyes. The last sentence read: "As long as it's alive, I'll catch even a god for you to see."
What does that mean? It's not limited to Pokémon. Can you catch humans too? Even Heroic Spirits?
After inquiring about his conjecture with the system, he received an affirmative answer. Immediately, Wang Chong carefully stored it in his spatial storage as if it were a priceless treasure. This is a real gem; he must keep it safe.
Finally, there's the Blade of the Ruined King. Wang Chong never expected to pull out the Ruined King's signature weapon. However, after noticing the "upgradeable" label, he checked it and discovered that this signature weapon wasn't at its strongest. It stated that it required using the power of the Ruined King to enslave a certain number of people and strengthen the power of the Ruined King before it could be upgraded.
It seemed that to use this weapon, he would have to use the villain template of the Ruined King, Foygo, before he could continue. After making a decision, Wang Chong put the weapon back into his system space.
"So, host, are you satisfied with the rewards? This is an epic ten-pull, and a normal pull requires 1000 villain points. The rewards are naturally very generous~" the system said with a smile.
"Holy crap? What did you say? 1000 points per draw? Why don't you just rob someone?" Wang Chong said, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Oh, host, you should take a look at what you get from an epic-level draw. It guarantees you'll get something useful, no junk whatsoever. Of course, if you just want to rely on luck, there's a regular random draw that costs 100 points per draw. If you want to try your luck, you can use that." The system showed Wang Chong the draw interface and said.
"Tsk, what about the legendary one? It won't cost 10000 points per draw, will it?" Wang Chong said with a dark face.
"Legendary items are special; they can't be obtained using villain points. Only by completing certain special villainous actions will there be a chance to reward the host. After all, legendary items in the lottery are usually extremely powerful, the rarest of the rare," the system patiently explained.
"...Fine, that's as good as not asking at all. Draw a card for me. I want to see what kind of amazing thing a legendary card draw will produce." Wang Chong instructed the system to draw a card.
"Ding! Initiating a legendary card draw—Congratulations, host, you have drawn the blessing of the astral wandering god Bard: You will have a 5-second invulnerability once a day, which can withstand any attack whose power does not exceed Bard's strength." After the system finished speaking, a stream of light entered Wang Chong's body, and a layer of bright golden light appeared on Wang Chong's body.
"Holy crap! Isn't this invincibility? Five seconds of invincibility every day, this is a steal!" Now Wang Chong believed in the value of the legendary card draw the system had described.
"So, host, shall we proceed with the Heroic Spirit Summoning?" the system asked.
“No rush… Judging from the people Ryunosuke killed, they weren’t the couple with a child from the story. It’s probably still early in the story, not yet the Fourth Shinobi World War… In that case, there’s something worth doing right now. System, could you help me clean up the traces here? I don’t want anyone to investigate me,” Wang Chong said.
"No problem, host. All traces have been cleared. You can now use your teleport skill to leave this accommodation." After the system finished speaking, a light flashed in the room, indicating that the system had erased all traces of him. Wang Chong immediately activated his teleport skill and left the room.
……
"Host, have we circled most of Fuyuki City just to get to this mansion? What are we planning to do?" The system asked curiously, looking at the somewhat eerie-looking villa.
“Pilgrimage to a sacred site.” Wang Chong said, taking out his phone from his spatial storage, snapping a picture of the building, and then taking a selfie. Looking at it, he noticed the lighting was poor, a bit dim, and said, “System, can you help me with the lighting?”
"Host, if you want a good photo, the system has automatically generated one for you." After Wang Chong's phone lit up, a clear and complete photo showing Wang Chong's handsome face and the mansion behind him appeared on the screen.
Wang Chong was very satisfied, and then he took out a card from his pocket, which was the villain template card of the King of Ruin, Foygo.
"Host, are you sure you want to use it? Now? Here?" Seeing that Wang Chong intended to use the card, the system was puzzled and asked, "Host, this card can be used to save your life in a critical moment, why do you want to use it now?"
"System, you're too narrow-minded. Instead of using the card to save your life, you should quickly maximize its benefits. Becoming stronger quickly is the key. Holding onto the card will only let it gather dust." Wang Chong used the template card, and a large amount of black mist emerged from it, enveloping him. Soon, the black mist completely enveloped Wang Chong, and he stepped forward. A effeminate man wearing a tattered crown, revealing eight-pack abs, and surrounded by black mist, stepped out from within.
"Forever lost my love, all I see is ruin." Wang Chong uttered that classic line, very good, very flavorful, and then continued, "Alright System, it's time to begin our first real villainous deed in this world."
"what?"
"Of course it's murder and arson."
Chapter Three: Old Bug, Kill!
"It's time to start preparing for physical modification."
Deep within the basement of the mansion, a gaunt, hunchbacked old man with an unusual appearance let out a sinister smile as he watched the writhing worms he manipulated form a swarm of insects. This old man was Matou Zouken, and the mansion was, of course, the Matou family residence. Zouken saw that all preparations were complete, and now he planned to bring Sakura, who had been adopted from the Tohsaka family, and thoroughly tune her body and magical attributes to his satisfaction.
"Hmm...?" Suddenly, Zouken Matou's expression changed. The insects he had hidden outside the mansion for surveillance had lost contact with him in an instant. Clearly, all of these insects had been killed.
Not a single one remained; all the insects on the perimeter died without exception. The last piece of information Zouken Matou gleaned from the dead insects was that they had all encountered a strange black mist.
"What kind of magic is this?" Even the well-informed Zouken Matou couldn't figure out what kind of magic this strange black mist was. However, Zouken Matou knew clearly that someone was watching him.
"Hmph!" Zouken Matou knew very well the cruelty of the struggle between magicians. Although he didn't know which fool had set his sights on him, Zouken Matou, killing him wouldn't be so easy, especially since he was currently in his own magic workshop.
Zouken Matou immediately activated the magic circle set up in his house and rushed towards the hall.
……
"Ding—You kicked the door and damaged private property, which is consistent with villainous behavior. You are awarded 10 villain points."
At that moment, Wang Chong, transformed into Foygo, kicked open the gate of the Matou family's residence. As for the magic arrays in the courtyard, they had all been corrupted and collapsed by the power of decay the instant they touched the black mist.
"Only 10 o'clock? Looks like we'll have to go all out. Tsk tsk tsk, so many magic circles have been activated. This is all their hard work. If it's all destroyed, that old bug must be really heartbroken. Vast expanse of scorched earth!" With that, Wang Chong waved his hand, and endless black mist began to destroy the magic circles throughout the entire mansion one by one.
"Ding—You have wantonly destroyed a private magic workshop, which is in line with villainous behavior. You are awarded 50 points."
"Ding—You have frightened innocent people and left them with psychological trauma, which is consistent with villainous behavior. You are awarded 10 points."
"Ding—You have frightened the heroine and left her with psychological trauma, which is very much in line with villainous behavior. You are rewarded with 100 points."
"Wait? The destined heroine? What the hell?" Wang Chong was stunned. Then he sensed his black mist and found that in a room, a purple-haired female passerby... no, a black-haired little girl was hiding in a corner of the room, trembling as she looked at the black mist from which the mournful spirits of the dead constantly lingered.
"So it's Sakura. Judging from her hair color... thank goodness, she hasn't undergone that inhumane modification yet. System, could you explain why the reward points for intimidating Matou Sakura are so generous?" Wang Chong asked.
"Host, since we're villains, what kind of powerful villains bully ordinary people? The real villains should be outwitting and outmaneuvering the protagonists. So, committing villainous acts against these protagonists will naturally yield generous reward points. And Sakura is one of the three heroines of the future Fifth Nations, so she can be considered a protagonist of destiny," the system explained.
