"Huihui, are you alright?"
A few seconds later, Huihui replied immediately:
"I'm fine, but Litty isn't doing so well."
Litty isn't doing well.
Lin Chen glanced at Professor Jürgen beside him. The old man's expression had become solemn and somber. He was holding his phone and speaking in a low voice:
"Send a car to wait for me at the gate. Go to the school immediately."
After putting down his phone, Jürgen gently wiped his face and sighed.
“Professor, I’ll go with you,” Lin Chen said.
Jürgen didn't speak, he just nodded slightly.
The two got into a car in front of the investigation bureau, and fifteen minutes later, the car stopped in front of the school.
Professor Jürgen rushed into the school with a brisk pace, and Lin Chen had to jog to keep up with him.
After all, they are scientific researchers who frequently visit research sites, so their physical strength is by no means lacking.
The two quickly arrived at the classroom where the incident occurred—a dimensional stabilizing anchor had been placed there, and staff from the Second Department were using instruments to measure parameters.
After all, this is an affiliated school of the Bureau of Investigation, and as soon as the subspace erosion occurred, the people on site immediately took effective countermeasures.
"Liti! Where are you!"
Professor Jürgen rushed into the classroom and immediately spotted the makeshift stretcher next to the podium. He rushed over to it.
Lin Chen then found Huihui, who was standing to the side in a daze, squatted down, and whispered:
"Huihui! How are you?"
“I’m fine,” Huihui quickly shook her head, her face free of tears; she was very strong. “But Litty…”
Lin Chen turned his head and looked at the makeshift stretcher next to the podium.
This was the first time he had seen Litty: a small white figure curled up on a stretcher, her long, snow-white hair spread out on the white fabric, making her appear even whiter than the surroundings.
She had her beautiful, bright blue eyes wide open, but no matter how Professor Jürgen called to her, she remained blankly focused.
White hair...blue eyes...
Lin Chen stared blankly at that doll-like face for a while, then looked away and noticed something unusual:
The girl's clothes were torn at the back, and a few pure white feathers peeked out from between the fabric, fluttering gently.
That is...
wing?
Did she grow wings on her back?
“Liti has little wings. I saw them when I stayed at her house,” Huihui whispered. “She said it was a secret and told me not to tell anyone…”
Just then, a loud shout came from the side:
"That freak should have transferred schools long ago! She's the one who attracted the monster!"
"She's a monster! She's a monster! And she has feathers, it's terrifying!"
Lin Chen turned his head and saw that it was a group of girls huddled together.
He was about to say something to stop them when Professor Jürgen suddenly stood up and looked at the homeroom teacher.
"Excuse me, what happened?" His tone was calm, but Lin Chen could hear the raging fire burning beneath his steady voice.

Chapter 67 Insomnia (Second Update)
"At the time...it was during class..."
Faced with the serious-looking Professor Jürgen, the teacher straightened his posture and began to weave together his thoughts.
"I didn't notice what happened, but suddenly...Liti started floating..."
"The depth gauge beeped, and I immediately called for backup, but two entities still managed to emerge from the blackboard behind us..."
"The 'police officers' stationed at the school quickly rushed in, killed the two entities, and no children were injured, but..."
"She's the one who summoned the monster!" the girl shouted. "It's happened so many times! Every single time! My mom says the school isn't taking responsibility!"
"She's a monster! She is a monster!"
Lin Chen noticed that Professor Jürgen's hand was trembling slightly.
He didn't say anything, but simply took out the medicine, put it into a syringe with cute stickers on it, and gave Litty an injection in the neck.
“Professor Jürgen, I understand that Litty’s situation is special,” the teacher walked to Jürgen’s side, “but… if she continues to lose control like this, we can’t treat the safety of other children as a joke…”
“Let me think about it…” Professor Jürgen said softly.
"Expel her from school!" several girls shouted in unison. "She's an abnormal entity! She..."
"That's not true at all!" Huihui suddenly exclaimed.
The girl turned around and looked at the group of girls huddled together with great emotion.
"It was you...you bullied her!"
"We don't!" the girl in the lead shouted. "So what if we do? She's a monster! She has wings!"
"Her medicine is gone! You must have stolen it! It's making her act strange..." Huihui's eyes were red-rimmed. "You've gone too far..."
"You're framing me!" The girl in the lead looked up. "Do you have any evidence?"
"me..."
As Huihui's emotions fluctuated, Lin Chen inexplicably felt a burning sensation in his temples.
He lowered his head, gently rubbed his temples, and sensed a strong instinct.
Instinctively, Lin Chen reached out and touched Huihui's temple.
The next second, the pure white city enveloped him.
"..."
Amidst the radiance of the mirage city, Lin Chen found himself drifting along with Huihui's thoughts.
He saw two girls sitting behind Huihui and Liti in the classroom whispering to each other:
"...She's taking her medicine next class," the girl in the lead whispered, "We'll snatch it from her later..."
"Hehe...she definitely won't be able to handle it this time..."
When class ended, Liti and Huihui went out hand in hand. The girl called over several other girls, and they pretended to chat, crowding together to block the surveillance camera.
Meanwhile, the ringleader—the school bully—took the opportunity to take a bottle of medicine from Litty's drawer and hid it in his pencil case.
"She definitely won't be able to handle this."
"She definitely won't be able to handle this."
In reality, when Lin Chen repeated what the school bully had said, the scene suddenly fell silent.
The school bully suddenly froze, staring at Lin Chen with her pupils slightly contracting.
"What did you say...?"
"She's taking her medicine next class," Lin Chen said softly. "We'll snatch it from her later..."
"You...I don't understand what you're saying..."
"What's hidden in your pencil case?" Lin Chen asked calmly.
"What's it to you? I..."
"The pencil case was hidden in the inner compartment of the schoolbag, with a '53' textbook on top and two workbooks, one for Chinese and one for English."
Lin Chen's voice remained calm.
What's in that pencil case?
"......"
The school bully looked like a frightened fawn; her legs trembled slightly, and her mouth opened and closed, but she couldn't say anything.
Her body seemed frozen by Lin Chen's calm eyes, unable to even make the slightest movement to cover herself up.
Huihui was stunned for a moment, then rushed to the school bully's seat and rummaged through her bag to find the bottle of medicine!
"I knew she stole it!" Huihui shouted. "Teacher, look!"
She ran past the group of stunned girls and handed the medicine to Lin Chen.
Lin Chen handed the medicine to Professor Jürgen. The old man looked at the medicine for a while, then turned to his teacher and said seriously:
"Liti suffers from insomnia and resonates with the subspace for a long time. As long as she doesn't take the blocking agent, it will cause erosion. I believe the principal has told you about this."
"Yes, it is..."
The teacher was a little confused about what was happening when she saw the young man dressed as an investigator start talking, and the group of children were stunned.
The key point is... he was right—they really did steal Litty's potion.
“Then I believe that the ones who should be held responsible for this are the children who stole her potion,” Professor Jürgen said, “not my daughter!”
His voice was firm and hoarse, yet it carried a hint of weariness and pleading from the passage of time.
Seeing the paranormal researcher's expression, the teacher quickly waved his hand:
"Now that the situation has been investigated, the responsibility certainly cannot be placed on Litty. You should take her to the hospital quickly, and I will handle things here."
"I will explain the situation to the principal, don't worry."
After receiving her promise, Professor Jürgen seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, and the wrinkles on his face smoothed out a bit.
He picked up Litty, glanced at the girls who were crying in fear, and walked out of the classroom without looking back.
"Let's continue with the class, okay?" Lin Chen patted Huihui's head. "The matter has been resolved. I will stay with the professor, so don't worry."
"Brother, what happened to you...?"
Huihui's eyes held a mixture of admiration and fear—but Lin Chen knew she wasn't afraid of him.
What she feared was whether her sudden ability would come at a price.
After all, this almost definitively proves that Lin Chen has obtained superhuman strength.
"It's okay, don't worry."
Lin Chen smiled faintly at Huihui, then patted the little girl's head before turning around and catching up with Professor Jürgen.
At the school gate, an ambulance was already waiting. Litty was asleep when she got in, and her vital signs monitor was beeping steadily.
Lin Chen and Professor Jürgen sat together, gazing at the girl on the hospital bed.
“You said she suffers from insomnia,” Lin Chen said softly, “I believe that condition doesn’t refer to…not being able to sleep, right?”
Could mere insomnia lead to subspace erosion?
"Insomnia is just a symptom; the cause of her illness is very complicated."
Professor Jürgen wiped the sweat from his forehead, and Lin Chen realized that he really was an old man. The weariness that was usually hidden deep in his eyes was now overflowing and turning into wrinkles at the corners of his eyes.
"Simply put, from the moment she was born, something deep within the warp has been trying to resonate with her, which makes it impossible for her to fall asleep no matter what."
"And if she doesn't sleep for a period of time, it will attract erosion..."
"It's like... something is trying to take her back to the subspace."

Chapter 68 Acquaintances (Third update, please continue reading)
"Beep...beep..."
In a private hospital room in the Bureau of Investigation building, Litty is receiving an IV drip.
She seemed to be in a deep sleep, her doll-like face so exquisite it was almost unbelievable, almost unreal.
Lin Chen stood by the bed, looking at Liti, his mind still replaying what had just happened.
Just now, when Huihui was emotionally agitated... Lin Chen successfully entered her memories and saw the process of those children committing evil.
