A drone with optical camouflage flew close to the sea surface, avoiding radar range.
"There are patrol boats in the waters near K Island, and the personnel are fully armed. Be careful to avoid them."
"Received. Can you verify my identity?"
"Judging from the armband, they should be PMC soldiers, not soldiers directly under the Foundation."
"They're quite cautious, knowing to avoid revealing their identity as much as possible."
Inside the submarine, Lin Chen put down his hand that was pressing the headset, picked up the tablet, and fiddled with the map for a few moments.
“Ever since the Yudu War began, the islands in this area have become hot commodities…” Lin Chen looked at the small dots among the archipelago. “The rich either fled or hid on the islands to avoid danger, betting that they could be the first to get a share of the spoils after the war ended.”
“It seems your city is an asset in their eyes,” said Embroidery Needle, who was checking her diving suit. “I thought only our green mountains and clear waters were assets.”
“If they wanted, they would want every street lamp in Yudu to be their asset,” Li Zhanyi said. “Desire is limitless.”
"Yep, let's hang them up then."
Lin Chen put down the tablet, quickly checked the equipment, and then grabbed the overhead handrail.
"This is as far as we can go!" the old captain's voice came from the cockpit. "Any closer and we'll be discovered!"
"Received, thank you for your hard work, senior," Lin Chen said.
He waved and led Li Zhanyi and the guerrillas toward the filtration chamber.
After the hatch was sealed, water began to enter the cabin, and everyone quickly put on diving masks and slung their weapons over their shoulders.
When the water reached his chest, Lin Chen shouted:
"Once on the island, proceed according to plan. Stealth is the priority. Do not alert the target! We need Mr. K alive!"
"Received!" Li Zhanyi gave a thumbs up.
"The foundation does not want one of their senior executives to fall into our hands. If the situation gets out of control, evacuation is the priority. We need to ensure that we suffer no losses as much as possible."
"Snoring..."
The cabin was filled with water. Lin Chen opened the valve and was the first to dive into the seabed.
He glanced at the compass on his watch, then swam toward K Island.
Twenty minutes later, Lin Chen was the first to surface in the sea near a shallow beach—
"Boom!"
Amidst the thunder and torrential rain, he gazed at the distant shallows, a ghostly blue light shining in his eyes.
“There’s a small sentry post on the cliff, a PMC sniper,” Lin Chen said softly. “Black Sword One, help us clear it out.”
"receive."
A slight buzzing sound swept over Lin Chen's head—it was the drone being operated by Hua Luo Ri.
With a loud "bang," a faint white light rang out, and a bullet pierced through the torrential rain, striking a patch of grass on the cliff.
"Well done," Lin Chen said softly.
"I haven't even found him yet, and you've already spotted him," Hua Luori muttered. "Young man, what's wrong with your eyesight..."
"A gift from the torrential rain."
Lin Chen gestured to the people behind him, and then they all swam towards the beach.
"Splash!"
Lin Chen took the lead and walked onto the shallows, leading everyone to the edge of a cliff.
"Equipment," he said.
The group took off their equipment bags and began to put on their bulletproof vests, night vision goggles, and other gear.
After donning his gear, Lin Chen checked the silenced HK416 assault rifle he had prepared for the operation and waved his hand:
"Follow me."
Taking advantage of the torrential rain and the cover of the rain curtain, Lin Chen made his way up the cliff and took out several sentries along the way.
After reaching the high vantage point, he raised his night vision goggles, took out his binoculars, and looked at the distant lights.
Amidst the torrential rain, a modern luxury villa stands in the center of the island, its white structure resembling a pearl in a seashell, enveloped by rough rocks.
Around the villa, countless mercenaries were patrolling, most of them fully armed and of extremely high standard.
Of course, this "high" is relative to the average person.
For the foundation's top brass, it's perfectly normal to have a demigod by your side when you go out.
"Zhanyi, how's your vision?" Lin Chen asked softly.
“Very good,” Li Zhanyi said, scanning the surrounding terrain through his scope. “There should be a few sniper posts on the high ground; we need to deal with them.”
She set up the sniper rifle on the ground and handed the binoculars to Lin Chen:
"You come looking for me, I'll fight you."
"receive."
Lin Chen and Li Zhanyi lay prone in the damp grass, one holding a sniper rifle and the other holding binoculars.
During the downpour, Lin Chen's eyes turned a deep blue.
By projecting Triton's power onto himself, Lin Chen's perception could extend into the entire downpour.
He can detect the landing point of each raindrop and determine its material.
In other words, he could sense the location of those who were getting wet in the rain.
"Three o'clock, at the junction of the antenna tower and the mountain peak, in the grass," Lin Chen said softly.
"receive."
"Oh!"
A bullet pierced the endless rainy night and disappeared without a trace.
The silencers and the torrential rain masked the gunshots, making it seem as if nothing had happened.
But Lin Chen could sense that new liquid had broken out of the container—it was the sniper's blood.
"Click".
Li Zhanyi pulled the pin, and a .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge case flew out and landed in the grass.
“Kill confirmed,” Lin Chen moved his binoculars. “Four o’clock, on the third windmill.”
"I saw it."
"Oh!"
Li Zhanyi pulled the bolt again, and another bullet flew out.
"A little to the left of the windmill, at the edge of that small viewing platform, there are two people, one on the left and one on the right," Lin Chen said softly.
"Wait for a clap of thunder to cover the sound of someone falling to the ground," Li Zhanyi said softly.
The two waited for a while, until the white flame flashed across the sky—
"Oh!"
Boom!
After the shot was fired, a thunderous sound followed, and one of the snipers on the platform fell to the ground.
The other man's hearing was clouded by the thunder, and before he could realize his companion was dead, Li Zhanyi pulled the trigger again—
"Oh!"
"Click".
The guerrillas on lookout just stared blankly at Li Zhanyi and Lin Chen's teamwork, and for a moment, they were speechless.
So this is the former top investigator from the Rapid Response Division... accurately locating the enemy in a torrential downpour, hitting the bullseye every time.
That really does exceed the limit.
"Oh!"
"Click!"
After Li Zhanyi emptied a magazine, Lin Chen put down his binoculars.
"Cleanup complete," Lin Chen said. "Black Sword One, was anyone alerted?"
"No, you can enter."
"receive."
Lin Chen patted Li Zhanyi on the shoulder and said softly:
"If things get out of control, killing Mr. K, even if we can't use him, will still cause panic among the Foundation's higher-ups."
“Okay,” Li Zhanyi nodded, “You must be careful.”
"Don't worry, I can handle it."
Lin Chen stood up and waved to the guerrillas behind him.
"Black Sword One, Team A-1 is entering the manor."
After saying that, Lin Chen pulled down the four-eye night vision goggles on his head—
"drop--"
Everything before my eyes turned green, and everything that had been obscured by darkness became clear.
Before entering the villa, Lin Chen wanted to conserve as much Blue Energy as possible, using equipment to solve problems whenever possible.
He walked down the hillside and soon arrived at a checkpoint near the entrance of the manor.
“Three on the left, one on the right,” Lin Chen said softly. “Zhanyi, take care of the one on the right. Xiuhuazhen, we’ll take care of the one on the left together. Wait for me to fire.”
"..."
"Oh!"
"Bang bang bang bang!"
As Lin Chen pulled the trigger, the mercenaries beside the outpost fell to the ground one after another.
Lin Chen raised the HK416 and led the way, quickly passing through the checkpoint and moving forward along the edge of the main road.
The group disappeared into the flower field beside the road and, under the cover of darkness, made their way towards the mansion.
"There are seven or eight bodyguards about 500 meters ahead, by the pool," Hua Luori's voice came through. "This area is a bit difficult to navigate stealthily..."
"If we're fast enough, it shouldn't be a problem," Lin Chen said.
"There's no rush. We can destroy the communication base station, or even launch a full-scale attack, as long as the information can't be sent out," Hua Luori said.
"Playing it safe is fine," Lin Chen said. "Where will the communication base station be located?"
“I’ll go find it,” Tie Dan said. “I can handle it by myself.”
“Tell me when you find it, and I’ll hack it for you…” Hua Luo Ri said. “Wait a minute… something is approaching K Island!”
Even if Hua Luo Ri hadn't said anything, Lin Chen already knew.
He looked up and saw a fireball roaring across the night sky, flying towards Mr. K's villa!
That's Ms. J!
"Boom..."
Ms. J landed on the second floor of the villa, opened the sliding door, and went inside.
"What an adorable way to travel," Lin Chen murmured softly. "It seems their owner is unaware of the visitors. Look—"
Half of the mercenaries by the pool rushed into the villa to protect their owner.
As for the remaining half...
"Zhanyi, you handle the ones further away, we'll take care of the ones closer to home."
In the flower field, Lin Chen raised his gun.
"Wait until I fire."
