So, Lin Chen drove Li Zhanyi away from the Southern Development Zone, left the car on the roadside, and then found an entrance to enter Shuiwa City.
After returning to Shuiwa City, Lin Chen went to the new headquarters of the Yuzhen Guerrilla Team.
The house had been almost completely tidied up by several guerrillas. During the time Lin Chen was away, several more guerrillas joined the stronghold, as if it were automatically refreshed.
"Senior, you're back?" Embroidery Needle, busy at her computer, turned around. "What did you bring us?"
"It's delicious, come on." Lin Chen placed a box of dried meat on the table.
Several guerrillas chattered as they unpacked the box, and exclaimed as soon as they saw the dried meat.
"Wow, this is truly a feast! Brother, you're amazing! Where did you get this?" Baiyun shouted.
"That's rude, the senior would definitely have lent it to you," said the embroidery needle.
"Then we'll borrow it."
Looking at this group of guerrilla fighters bickering and playing around, Lin Chen suddenly felt like he was taking care of children.
Did Lao Jiang feel this way when he was teaching a class...?
"If you take my meat, you have to work for me," Lin Chen said. "Deal?"
"Deal! Deal! If I can eat meat, it's all a deal!" Baiyun was very excited. "I love eating meat the most!"
"Can you stop making a fool of yourself..." Tie Dan glanced at Bai Yun, "You're the captain, so why are you accepting missions here?"
"Captain!" Bai Yun looked at the embroidery needle.
"You coward..."
Embroidery Needle glared at Bai Yun, then smiled and looked at Lin Chen:
"No problem. The Commander-in-Chief's original instructions to us were to assist the people who were about to overthrow Yudu as much as possible."
The person who is about to overthrow the Rain Capital...
This title doesn't sound very respectable.
"Splash."
Lin Chen unfolded a map, which was marked with various points—some were the exits of Waterhole City, and some were supply points.
"So detailed?" The guerrillas huddled around the table.
"Mission objective: evacuate the hostages," Lin Chen glanced at the guerrillas, "If nothing unexpected happens, it shouldn't be too difficult. You just need to keep an eye on these surrounding streets..."
He quickly tapped the map a few times with his hand.
"Then, after I bring the person out, we'll go to Shuiwa City for a transfer, then head to the Southern Development Zone, and that's it."
“It doesn’t look complicated,” the embroidery needle nodded, “but Guter Street is quite dangerous.”
"Quite dangerous?" Lin Chen looked up.
“Don’t you know? This is the territory of the Rat Gang,” Embroidery Needle said, looking at the map. “They’re pretty ruthless there, they collect protection money.”
The "Rat Gang"... should be the group that runs the restaurant with Brother Rat.
They even collect protection money?
Lin Chen frowned and said:
"Their gang leader is my friend."
"Really?" Embroidery Needle was somewhat surprised. "Senior, you even associate with the underworld?"
"He wasn't involved in organized crime two months ago. I haven't learned much about their side of things lately," Lin Chen said thoughtfully. "Does he have any bad records?"
“There aren’t too many bad deeds, but overall he’s rather domineering,” said Embroidery Needle. “If he’s a friend of a senior, then it might just be a protective shield in chaotic times. After all, to maintain the stability of such a large area, some deterrent force is definitely needed.”
"Hmm... okay."
Lin Chen stared at the three characters "Gute Street" on the map, pondering for a long time.
For some reason, the image of him standing up for Brother Hao on Gute Street and beating up Wang Defa flashed into his mind.
Underworld...gangs...
These titles seem far removed from the image of that honest, unassuming cook.
"Then let's get started and make this quick."
"..."
Lin Chen raised his head and looked at the Gute Street in the rain.
It was late at night, and in the pouring rain, a few streetlights illuminated the dilapidated streets.
Lin Chen took the binoculars from Li Zhanyi and looked at the restaurant in the distance.
At that moment, several checkpoints were set up in front of the restaurant, and fully armed gang members were patrolling the streets, looking quite professional.
“This is really… unfamiliar…” Lin Chen handed the binoculars to Li Zhanyi.
"Have you contacted Brother Hao?" Li Zhanyi took the binoculars from Lin Chen and put them away.
"Not yet, I want to see what his true style is like."
Lin Chen pressed the earpiece and whispered:
"Attention all units, operation begins."
Code name: Evacuation Angel.

Chapter Eleven: Operation Evacuation of Angels (6000 words)
On a rainy night, a sentry on a watchtower, holding a sniper rifle, looked down at the street below.
A figure emerged from the rain, and the sniper immediately moved his crosshair towards it.
"Attention, unknown target has entered the main street." The sniper picked up his walkie-talkie.
Gun barrels emerged from the dark windows, aimed at the target directly below. In front of the sentry post, a man in a bulletproof vest stepped out of cover, carrying a machine gun in one hand.
"Stand still!" the man shouted. "You're being targeted."
The figure walked to the boundary between the streetlight and the darkness, revealing half of its face.
Lin Chen, dressed in all black, stopped in the middle of the street with his arms slightly outstretched.
“I’ve come to find your Brother Hao,” Lin Chen replied.
"You're Lin Chen, a deserter from the First Counter-Revolutionary Division," the man recognized Lin Chen. "What are you doing here?"
"Didn't you hear me?" Lin Chen narrowed his eyes. "I'm here to find your Brother Hao."
He looked up, glanced around at the gun barrels protruding from the surrounding windows, and shouted:
"Or is it that Chen Minghao no longer recognizes me?"
"..."
The man walked out of the checkpoint and stood right in front of Lin Chen.
Lin Chen recognized him—this guy was also in that little barbershop from before, and he seemed to be the manager of the barbershop.
That's Brother Hao's confidant.
"Brother, you're going to get into trouble if you come here without saying anything, you know?" The man frowned. "Don't you know what's going on outside?"
“Giving advance notice would risk information leaks,” Lin Chen said calmly. “What about Brother Hao?”
"Inside the restaurant, there are no tails, right?"
"No, don't worry."
"Okay, then please wait a moment."
The man took two steps back, took out a walkie-talkie, and said a few words.
After a while, he raised one hand, and all the guns in the windows around the street were put back in.
"Brother Hao asked me to cooperate with you, what brings you here?" The man returned to Lin Chen's side.
“I’m here to take the two girls from the encrypted room,” Lin Chen said. “Let’s leave now.”
"No problem, then come with me."
The man waved, signaling Lin Chen to follow.
He led Lin Chen through the checkpoint, and during their conversation with the gang members, Lin Chen learned his nickname—Wildcat.
Those gang members left a deep impression on Lin Chen. They wore bulletproof vests, had bullet belts on their bodies, and carried all sorts of Russian weapons. The black gun barrels reflected the light of the streetlights in the rainy night.
“Last time I came here, this was a privately owned restaurant. Now it’s become a gang, huh?” Lin Chen sized up the menacing-looking gang members.
“We had no choice but to fight for survival,” Wildcat said. “When the war broke out, thanks to the devices left here by the Bureau of Investigation and your reminder, we quickly restored order and also clashed with several unidentified forces that passed by, killing a demigod.”
"You've killed all the demigods?" Lin Chen frowned.
"Your sister-in-law is something else, those blue bullets are really powerful," Wildcat said.
He glanced at Lin Chen, a hint of admiration in his eyes.
"You dared to come alone, you must be someone important. Things aren't peaceful outside right now."
"I didn't come alone," Lin Chen said calmly.
When the wildcat looked at Lin Chen, its eyes widened in surprise: several figures wearing bronze masks had appeared beside Lin Chen and were walking with him.
When did these people appear?
"I won't take the risk," Lin Chen chuckled.
"Wow...that's pretty awesome," the wildcat muttered.
At this moment, the group arrived at the entrance of the restaurant.
Two gang members opened the restaurant door, and a wave of heat hit them.
Upon entering the restaurant lobby, Lin Chen surveyed his surroundings: at the bar, burly men were drinking and playing darts; a large number of mahjong tables were set up in the hall, with some people playing cards and others competing in arm strength; in a corner of the hall, two boxers were fighting on the stage, both covered in blood, while onlookers cheered and applauded.
"That's really wild," Lin Chen muttered.
"Wild, isn't it? Investigator Lin, I didn't expect our little skills to earn your praise..."
The crowd suddenly parted, and a woman dressed in a flamboyant manner, wearing a cheongsam, came to the front row surrounded by bodyguards.
Looking at her heavy makeup, Lin Chen chuckled softly:
“I don’t think that counts as praise.”
“It is true for me,” the woman said, flicking her fan. “It’s a chaotic world. Heroes emerge from chaos, and heroes need courage. Courage is something only the most reckless and brutish men possess. In this kind of world, a weak and hesitant scholar can’t accomplish anything great.”
"Makes sense."
Lin Chen nodded:
"You must be my sister-in-law."
"My name is He Lanhu, just call me Sister Fox." The woman chuckled.
"Where's Brother Hao? Where is he?" Lin Chen looked around.
“Your brother Hao isn’t here tonight,” Sister Fox said, covering the lower half of her face with her fan. “He went out to discuss business.”
"Talk business? In this day and age, is there any business to talk about?"
"Of course, business is the underlying logic of Yudu. As long as there's business, there will be friends..."
He Lanhu closed his fan and waved his hand:
"Come on, if you're here to evacuate those girls, you'd better hurry. Things aren't very peaceful here lately... it's too easy for accidents to happen."
"Mm." Lin Chen nodded.
He turned his head and gestured to the embroidery needle, telling her to stay there.
He then followed He Lanhu and her bodyguard alone toward the stairs.
As they descended the stairs, He Lanhu suddenly asked:
"Investigator Lin, why did you suddenly choose this time to evacuate the girls?"
