“We need to open it and check,” said the Red Gang member. “Give me the password.”

"Password? What password?" Tom feigned ignorance. "I don't know. Shall we wait until we get to the space city?"

"Stop pretending," the bandit suddenly said impatiently. "Get this straight, the Foundation has the highest level of secrecy regarding the Space Islands. Any cargo that enters must be strictly inspected, without exception."

“I really don’t know what that shipment is,” Tom shook his head.

"Then we'll just have to throw it into the sea."

Just when the situation was almost deadlocked, suddenly, the air raid siren sounded:

"Attention! Unauthorized armed units have entered the airspace! Unauthorized..."

Tom turned his head sharply and saw an armed helicopter cutting through the night sky, roaring in from the gray clouds.

"Give them twenty seconds. Anyone who doesn't enter the cabin after twenty seconds will be considered a combatant," Black Sword said.

"They're quite moral..." Lin Chen thought to himself, silently counting in his mind.

When he was halfway through the count, Jiang Zhengge's voice came through the earpiece:

"Approaching."

Lin Chen looked out to sea and saw a small boat rapidly approaching the cargo ship, leaving a long trail of white foam on the surface.

On the small boat, Jiang Zhengge looked up at the sky, squinting his eyes:

"Let's begin! Let's finish this quickly!"

"Roger that!"

After Lin Chen finished speaking, he drove the control lever, adjusted the aperture, and placed it on the cargo ship's deck.

At this very moment, Red Gang members are carrying Stinger missiles onto the deck.

So you just don't want to live anymore!

start up!

Lin Chen pressed the triggers repeatedly with both hands:

"Da da da da da da da—"

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Amidst the barrage of machine gun fire, missiles, and bullets, fireballs exploded on the deck, shattering the piled-up cargo containers into pieces or sending them tumbling into the sea.

The armed helicopters circled the cargo ship and bombed it, and soon there was nothing left to move on the deck.

"Cleansing complete," Black Sword said.

"Boarding in progress!"

A grappling hook flew up to the side of the ship, and Jiang Zhengge took the lead in climbing onto the deck, followed closely by Oswald and Lucy.

"Attention, enemy armed helicopters detected, taking off from between the islands," Black Sword said lazily. "We need to speed things up, Kobayashi. How long will it take?"

"Ten minutes, I guess," Lin Chen said.

"Then I'll stall for ten minutes for you, and you go and take care of that CIA guy."

After Black Sword finished speaking, he began to descend.

When the altitude was about right, Lin Chen opened the hatch and jumped out.

As soon as he landed on the deck, he took off the pilot's helmet, tossed it aside, and then projected a revolver shotgun.

Almost simultaneously, Jiang Zhengge and the others climbed aboard from the side.

"Which way should we chase them?" Jiang Zhengge pulled out his pistol and began to check it.

"Over there." Lin Chen pointed in a direction after returning from the "Mirage City".

The group stormed into the ship and, led by Lin Chen, began CQB operations.

Those who intercepted were mostly members of the Red Gang—clearly, their Blackblood Security Company has grown quite large and powerful, able to contract positions so close to the Foundation's secrets.

This has essentially replaced the Mentitisean niche...

Next batch of consumables.

"boom!"

When Lin Chen blasted the first-class cabin door with a shotgun, a familiar figure was already waiting there.

It's Tom Connell.

The CIA agent was lying on the sofa, with his confidants and several Red Gang members lying on the floor.

Clearly, they had a falling out, and a gunfight broke out here.

“No one has been able to catch up with me for many years,” Tom muttered. “Young man, well done.”

"You've run into trouble with your Red Gang friends?" Lin Chen looked at the Red Gang bandit who lay dead with his eyes wide open. "It seems you brought some cargo they didn't really like onto the ship?"

"Looks like you have your own information channels..." Tom chuckled.

Of course! Lin Chen used "Mirage City" to see Tom and the Red Gang confronting each other on the deck.

He looked toward a corner of the room, where there was a life-size container.

"Is that the shipment?" Lin Chen turned his head. "What good stuff did you ship from Super America?"

You'll never know!

Tom suddenly roared, then stood up and raised his gun at Lin Chen.

Lin Chen was much faster than him—

"Snapped!"

A bullet left a bloody hole in Tom's forehead, and he collapsed onto the sofa.

The CIA agent is dead; he was powerless against Lin Chen.

Lin Chen took out his phone, took a picture, and quickly uploaded it to the black market.

Then he turned around and walked to the metal container:

"What the hell is this thing..."

“Human body container,” Oswald said in a low voice, “used for transporting living beings.”

Lin Chen turned his head and saw Oswald standing next to Tom's body.

He had already possessed Tom's face and was now tearing at Tom's casual suit.

“It’s most likely a demigod. They used way too much coolant,” Oswald concluded. “Take it back.”

"The CIA transported a demigod from the super-American to the space islands?" Lin Chen frowned.

“And the Red Gang doesn’t even know that yet, interesting,” Jiang Zhengge’s lips curled up slightly. “Clearly, our CIA has decided to cause some trouble for the Foundation.”

This is really a Mission: Impossible scenario. This guy has done quite well to go this far.

Unfortunately, he ultimately underestimated the Red Gang's vigilance—even if Lin Chen hadn't shown up tonight, they wouldn't have allowed the container to be successfully taken to the Space Islands.

“Take the container back to the Bureau of Investigation and find out what the Americans are up to,” Oswald said in Tom’s voice. “I will replace this kid and go undercover on the Space Islands. There won’t be any news about me for a while, after which I will cooperate with your operations.”

"Good plan," Lin Chen gave a thumbs up, "Then, Section Chief, shall we retreat?"

"Withdraw, withdraw, withdraw."

Lin Chen and Jiang Zhengge lifted the metal container together, while Oswald took out the liquid he carried with him and poured it on Tom's corpse, turning him into a pile of scum.

How cruel... Lin Chen's lips twitched twice.

As the two carried the container onto the deck, Lucy, who was keeping watch, immediately rushed over.

“The portal is ready,” Lucy said quickly. “The transit speed in the Ideal State is getting slower and slower; we almost missed it.”

“Never trust subspace technology,” Jiang Zhengge said. “Let’s go.”

He waved to the sky, and Black Sword's armed helicopters began to withdraw from the clouds, quickly disappearing into the mist.

Lucy took out the door opener, set the coordinates, and pressed the switch:

"Crack!"

A door appeared out of thin air, and Lucy pushed it open and went in first.

Jiang Zhengge and Lin Chen carried the container and followed.

With a "click," the door disappeared, and silence fell over the deck.

Five minutes later, support from the Space Islands arrived at the cargo ship and began cleaning up the mess.

......

Will Chapter 28 speak Chinese? (Third and fourth updates)

"So, a group of pirates attacked you?"

"That's right, they have armed helicopters."

"Hehe...hehehe..."

"Sir, what are you laughing at?"

On the cargo ship, Triton stood with his hands on his hips, looking at the mess before him.

Behind him, the silhouette of the space islands stood tall, with silver, towering rockets standing among the islands, gleaming in the sunlight.

"Didn't they say that the merman kid turned to the dark side, formed his own pirate crew, and the former hero became a criminal...?" The Red Gang representative looked at the Alpha-level demigod in front of him with some trepidation. "I would guess that they were the ones who launched the attack... My line of reasoning should be correct, right?"

“It’s alright, go have some fun,” Triton shook his head. “Clean up the mess and take stock of any usable materials.”

"Yes!"

After the Red Gang representative left, Tom Connell stepped forward and bowed to Triton.

“Sir, thank you for your help,” Oswald said sincerely. “If it weren’t for your timely reinforcements, I might have been killed by those bandits… My trusted confidant died taking a bullet for me, and the Red Gang fighters fought to the last moment…”

"Alright, go play somewhere else," Triton said impatiently. "The CEO of Mozhu Technology told me that you want to stay on the island to study for a while?"

"Yes, I want to change my personal development direction. I am willing to give everything for the foundation's aviation cause!"

Oswald patted his chest sincerely.

"I've sold all my villas, sports cars, and everything else. This is my way of showing my sincerity!"

“I’ve heard that someone hired someone to kill you on the dark web,” Triton said in a low voice. “You’ve made quite a few enemies, haven’t you? Are you trying to hide in the Space Islands to avoid trouble?”

Oswald immediately put on a look of horror.

"I...I'm sorry, I..."

“Go contact HR. If you’re useful, you can stay,” Triton said without wasting any more words. “If you’re not, go back. It’s none of my business who wants to kill you.”

"Yes!"

Tom Connell, or at least the one Triton believed to be Tom Connell, quickly left the deck.

Pirates? Triton wasn't stupid; he wouldn't be foolish enough to actually believe in pirates.

All those pirates before were outlaws funded by the Foundation. Their purpose was to be kicked to death by the fish-man kid and create the reputation of "Guardians of the High Seas".

Those who attacked the cargo ship last night were most likely members of the Church of Mentisse.

They wanted revenge on the Foundation, those pathetic remnants...

Or... it could be the Bureau of Investigation; they've been investigating Project Black Star.

But they couldn't find anything. Xileina was a clever girl, and at this stage, the things being transported to the archipelago were not very important.

Even if the Bureau of Investigation finds out what these materials are, they will have no way of knowing how to counter "Black Star".

"It's about time to start dealing with the little tails."

Triton picked up his phone and held it to his ear.

"Reconnaissance Company, where is the intelligence I requested? The Mentis cultists have caused enough trouble already. If we can't take down their leader, our losses will double."

"In the end... you'll bear all the losses, after all, you've been 'investigating' for so long and still know nothing..."

"It'll be quick, please wait a little longer, we'll be closing the net soon."

"The last chance."
