"Do I have to start all over again?"
The girl kept thinking about these things and pondering them.
But the more she thought about it, the more conflicted she became.
There was even an overwhelming sense of exhaustion and regret.
But in the end, a sense of relief actually emerged in my heart.
"Perhaps these are just my guesses. Perhaps, tomorrow's relationship will be no different from today's."
"Perhaps, we are still lovers."
The more Chiho thought about it, the more excited she felt.
I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow.
"Whether it's good or bad, there always has to be an ending."
"Once there's an ending, I won't have to keep thinking about it anxiously like I do now."
With that thought in mind, she and Xia Wuzhao returned to the classroom.
The others didn't care about this, as they all knew that Xia Wuzhao and Kirishima would go to the Literature Department for lunch every day.
However, Aoi Asahi couldn't help but glance at Chiho Kirishima.
She felt that Kirishima Chiho was different from before, and after thinking it over, she finally understood what Chiho and Natsugiri had done.
—The same thing I did before.
She glanced at Chiho's neck and noticed that Chiho's hair was loose, with some strands deliberately wrapped around her neck from behind.
This further convinced Aoi Asahi that her guess was correct.
She felt a mix of emotions.
Perhaps because her gaze was too intense, Chiho looked at Aoi Asahi: "What's wrong, Aoi?"
Asahi said sullenly, "It's nothing."
She said it was nothing, but under Chiho's gaze...
Aoi irritably chewed on the button of the mechanical pencil, leaving many teeth marks on the oval metal sheet.
Chiho could only smile at her.
In the afternoon classes, the teachers were still going over the test papers, but because it wasn't a core subject, the other students were listening rather casually and not very attentively.
The teachers could only sigh and let it go.
After school, everyone was eager to leave the school and go back to tell their parents about their grades.
Those who do poorly on exams need to figure out how to explain their grades to their parents.
Only those who participate in sports clubs are required to stay here and continue training.
They also had an important matter to attend to: discussing the summer camp arrangements.
We need to conduct intensive training to prepare for future competitions.
Chiho didn't participate in club activities today; she planned to go straight home.
This greatly surprised Asahi Aoi: "Are you going straight home today?"
Aoi Asahi found it somewhat unbelievable, if she were Chiho.
She would never go home early; she would stick with Xia Wu until dusk every day before reluctantly parting ways.
However, Chiho did indeed ask to go back early on her own initiative.
Xia Wuzhao glanced at Qianhui and said, "Okay."
Asahi Aoi returned to the library to study and work. Because she had spent a few days in the Literature Club, the library opened late, which caused some students to complain a little.
So for whatever reason, she can't go to the Literature Department for a while.
Chiho and Natsuki walked together toward the school gate.
The afternoon sun was already too intense; just walking around made it feel extremely hot.
My whole body felt like it was covered in sweat, which made me feel restless and a little depressed.
Only when I walk around the campus and admire the green shade under the trees do I feel a bit cool.
Only then will my mood brighten slightly, and I might even look forward to the next patch of greenery.
The two of them walked on in silence without saying a word.
The atmosphere seemed to understand something, and gradually began to freeze.
It wasn't until they reached the school gate that Chiho suddenly spoke to Natsumi.
"Well then, goodbye, Natsugiri."
Natsugiri looked at Chiho and said, "See you tomorrow."
Although it was just a normal farewell, it seemed like the two of them were talking about something else entirely.
The two of them were both aware of this but kept it to themselves.
Chiho smiled and took two steps toward the black car outside the door.
But then she stopped and said, "Can you guess why I'm leaving early today?"
"I don't know," Xia Wuzhao replied crisply.
The girl let out a clear, crisp laugh.
Her smile held so much hidden meaning; her crimson eyes seemed to sparkle, and her expression was a half-smile.
Chiho said, "Liar."
After she finished speaking, she turned around and walked to the car.
Looking at Xia Wuzhao at the school gate, she said to the driver, "Let's go back."
"Yes, ma'am."
The driver skillfully turned the car around and drove towards the slope.
Watching Xia Wuzhao disappear from the rearview mirror, Qianhui whispered, "My mother, do you have any plans for today?"
The driver hesitated for a moment and said, "Madam said that if we can't pick up Miss by now, we can go straight back."
"So, she wanted to come by herself?"
Chiho asked calmly.
The driver thought for a moment before replying, "It seems so, Miss. It seems that Madam is already dressed and ready."
"Just as I thought."
Chiho thought to herself that she had already anticipated this.
Chapter 150 In this sweltering summer
At home, her mother was waiting anxiously.
Yoshiko was extremely nervous; she desperately hoped that Chiho wouldn't come back.
He still only comes back very late, as always.
"In that case, I would have ample reason to blame her."
As she thought this, she became increasingly uneasy.
But upon hearing the sound of a car, she hurriedly straightened her clothes and picked up her expensive handbag.
Suppressing his pace, he slowly and deliberately came outside.
The driver had already stopped the car, and she just looked into it.
There was a figure inside the car, and through the glass, you could see Chiho sitting inside.
"Chiho is back."
As Yoshiko thought to herself, a deep sense of loss welled up inside her.
"What a pity."
She forced a smile and quickly went to greet him.
"Chiho, why are you back so soon today?" Yoshiko opened the car door, and her appearance surprised the driver, who could only stand aside.
Chiho got out of the car and smiled gently. "There were no club activities today, which is why I came back so quickly."
"Mom is all dressed up so beautifully, aren't you going to the banquet?"
"Mom didn't invite me to a party today," Jiazi said. "Today is the day your grades come out, so of course I'm going to wait here."
"After all, this is a big deal."
She smiled happily and said to Chiho, "Come in quickly, Mom bought you new clothes."
Holding Chiho's wrist, Yoshiko eagerly led Chiho into the house.
Chiho simply responded gently and followed him into the house.
The so-called new clothes were just an expensive dress with all sorts of pretentious decorations.
Yoshiko boasted, "Isn't it beautiful? This is a new product this season, and it's incredibly expensive."
She showed it off and then stuffed the dress into Chiho's hands.
Let Chiho try it on properly.
The girl looked at the dress for a moment, then sighed softly.
She said, "Mom, I can't fit into this dress."
"How is that possible?" Yoshiko said, somewhat incredulously. "How could you not fit into it if you didn't even try?"
“My figure isn’t like that.” Chiho shook her head.
She refused to wear the dress to Yoshiko once again.
"Mother, you don't even remember my exact measurements?"
Chiho wondered whether she felt sorrow or relief.
"The sad thing is that my mother clearly wanted to show off her maternal aura, but she couldn't even remember her own body measurements."
"Fortunately, this incident proves that my mother is not what she used to be; she seems unable to monitor me as effectively as before. That's why she doesn't understand me as well as she used to, and that's something to be thankful for."
She refused Yoshiko's request to try it on and just wanted to go back to her room.
"I know perfectly well that this is just running away, but I don't know what else to do besides run away."
Yoshiko looked at Chiho, then at the clothes.
He gave an awkward laugh and threw his clothes on the sofa.
"Look at me, I actually bought the wrong thing." She smiled sheepishly and awkwardly, sighing as if she didn't know what to say.
After a long while, she said, "Here, I'll give you some money. Go buy it yourself. That way, you won't make a mistake. Consider it a gift from your mother."
As she said this, she prepared to take some money out of her bag.
But Chiho shook her head: "No need, Mom."
She was saying this to prevent her mother from doing anything.
The girl walked toward her room with her head down.
Yoshiko sat on the sofa, seemingly speechless and with nothing to do.
But then, tears streamed down my face.
Almost like a continuous drizzle, sadness immediately filled the entire house.
Yoshiko said, "Chiho, it was Mom's fault. Mom is sorry, Mom should have asked you before buying things."
"It's Mom who wasted money and upset you."
Her crying made Chiho's body tremble.
The girl pursed her lips and said softly, "Mom, I'm not angry. What's there to be angry about?"
