"Shut up." Yura glanced at him, completely ignoring his protest.

Xu Chuan opened his mouth, but in the end, he was defeated under the girl's earnest gaze.

He now has no choice but to submit to the other party's tyranny.

However, Xu Chuan's mindset changed quickly. Since he couldn't resist it, he might as well enjoy it.

Paimon floated ahead, glancing back at the sleeping Tvalin on the beach.

"Where will it go after it wakes up?" she asked.

Wendy sat on the rocks, with no intention of leaving for the time being. Upon hearing this, she looked up and glanced at the distant sky.

He chuckled and said, "The wind will guide the way, but it will eventually find its own path."

Paimon nodded as if he understood, and didn't ask any more questions.

Chapter Forty-Two: Accomplices in Revenge

Mondstadt, it's another sunny day.

Since his trip to Zhaixing Cliff, Xu Chuan has been recuperating for a short period.

The reason it is described as "short-lived" is partly because his physical recovery ability is indeed somewhat abnormal.

The bloodstains that seeped from inside the body, the wounds that were cut by the wind blades, healed at a speed visible to the naked eye in just a few days, without leaving any scars.

On the other hand, the dragon blood he bathed in during his battle with Dvalin may have also accelerated his physical enhancement.

Xu Chuan even suspected that he was about to turn into some kind of humanoid monster.

Even the Corrupting Sword underwent an unexpected change.

Purifying the abyssal power within, and bathing in dragon blood alongside him, the sword began to slowly transform.

The color of the sword gradually changed from dark purple to deep blue. When held in the hand, you could feel something pulsating within it, as if a life was awakening inside.

Xu Chuan wondered if he should try to find Dvalin again and get some dragon blood to see if it would have any effect.

Perhaps, I could try using my own blood?

After all, the Corrupted Sword had indeed tasted its own blood in the Dragonspine Mountains.

Or, after we go to Liyue, we can go find Rota and get some dragon blood?

Sunlight streamed in through the window, warm and inviting, making him want to doze off. He lay on the recliner, lost in thought, exuding an air of nonchalant contentment.

Fortunately, this state did not last long.

"Mr. Xu Chuan, today's examination is complete," Sugar said softly, closing her notebook.

Xu Chuan sprang up from the recliner with a quick somersault, instantly becoming alert.

"Today is payday!" His eyes lit up. "It's the perfect time to pay back the Mora I owe you."

Sugar paused for a moment, then waved her hand: "Ah, it's actually okay not to pay it back."

She adjusted her glasses, her tone so serious it didn't seem like she was just being polite.

If Xu Chuan hadn't brought it up, she probably would have forgotten about it altogether.

"That won't do." Xu Chuan had already started walking towards the door.

Not paying back debts is not in his nature.

The two made a trip to the Knights, and Xu Chuan received his salary and returned Mora.

His money pouch had shrunk by more than half in an instant. Looking at the light money pouch in his hand, he couldn't help but sigh, "You really only realize how little Mora you have when you need it!"

“In that case, I can borrow Mr. Xu Chuan’s Mora again,” Sugar suggested earnestly.

"No, no," Xu Chuan quickly waved his hand, declining Sugar's offer.

As for Mora and such, enough to get by is fine.

If that's not enough, just hunt some Leyline Flowers or take on some quests from the Adventurers' Guild.

With his current strength, he is truly not afraid of anyone except for those at the level of a demon god.

In fact, he did accept a mission.

Xu Chuan invited Ying to team up and accepted a cleanup mission from the Adventurers' Guild.

Like herself, Ying is the kind of person who likes to earn her own living.

Moreover, after leaving Mondstadt, she and Paimon could not continue to receive aid from the Knights of Favonius.

Xu Chuan and Ying met at the city gate. Paimeng floated next to Ying, his little face full of excitement.

"It's finally Paimon's turn!" she waved her little fist. "I'm really strong!"

“Hmm,” Xu Chuan nodded seriously, “One-fifth the fighting strength of a wild boar.”

"Hey!"

Ying couldn't help but chuckle, and pulled Paimon towards the city gates.

The clearing mission wasn't too difficult: a few Hilichurl camps, a small group of slimes, and a few Abyss Mages that appeared out of nowhere.

Xu Chuan did not use the power of the Wind God's Heart, but simply held the Corruption Sword and slashed with it one sword at a time.

Those monsters were as fragile as paper in his presence.

His movements weren't particularly flashy, but every move was clean and efficient, without any unnecessary flourishes.

Ying watched from the sidelines, occasionally adding a finishing blow, but mostly observing.

She discovered that Xu Chuan's fighting style was completely different from that on Zhaixing Cliff; back then, he was like a burning flame.

He is now more like flowing water, calm and composed.

This person is still growing.

As night fell, the three returned to Mondstadt. Lights were already on at the city gates, their warm orange glow seeping through the windows, making the entire city appear like a luminous jewel set in the night.

“Today is a special day,” Xu Chuan suddenly said.

"What day is it?" Paimon asked curiously.

Xu Chuan did not answer, but simply turned into a small alley with light steps.

Ying and Paimon exchanged a glance, and when they saw that the guy head straight for Cat Tail Tavern, they couldn't help but shake their heads.

"This guy adapted too quickly, Ying, you mustn't follow his example."

The Cat's Tail Tavern sign swayed gently in the night breeze, making a creaking sound.

As you push open the door, the aroma of wine and the scent of cats waft out.

A few customers sat in a corner talking quietly, while behind the bar, a pink-haired cat-eared girl was idly wiping glasses.

Diona looked up and saw Xu Chuan, her face immediately showing a look of disgust that said, "I knew this would happen."

"Is a month over?" she asked.

"We're here." Xu Chuan sat down at the bar. "A special cocktail, please."

Diona snorted, but her hands didn't stop moving.

She turned around and took several bottles of wine from the shelf with fluid movements, the various ingredients seemingly magically blending together in her hands.

A moment later, a glass of dreamy-colored specialty cocktail was pushed in front of Xu Chuan.

"Drink up, drink up," she muttered.

Xu Chuan picked up his wine glass and took a sip.

The initial taste is sweet and fruity, followed by a subtle hint of alcohol, and finally a refreshing aftertaste.

It's really delicious; no wonder the alcoholics of Mondstadt both love and hate it.

Just as he continued to savor his wine, the tavern door was pushed open.

A blue figure walked in.

She has short, light blue hair and a slender figure.

Yura stood at the door, her gaze sweeping across the tavern before finally settling on the person holding a glass of wine at the bar.

She paused for a moment.

"What are you doing here?" She walked over and sat down next to Xu Chuan.

"Let's drink." Xu Chuan swirled his glass. "The one-month agreement is up."

Yura raised an eyebrow but didn't ask any further questions.

Diona leaned closer: "Miss Yura, what would you like to drink?"

"The same as usual."

Diona responded and turned to mix drinks.

Yura sat beside him, her gaze fixed on Xu Chuan's glass of wine. After a moment of silence, she suddenly spoke.

“That night,” she said, “did you see it?”

Xu Chuan's hand paused slightly.

"what?"

“Goethe Hotel,” Yura’s voice was soft. “That night, were you with me?”

He paused for a moment, then nodded.

"I saw it."

Diona brought the wine over and placed it in front of her.

Yura picked up the cup, took a sip, and then put it down.

"Some members of the Lawrence family have never given up."

Her tone was calm, but Xu Chuan could hear the tension beneath it.

“They’ve partnered with the Fools,” Yura continued, “intending to take advantage of the Dragon Plague and the Knights’ expedition to reclaim what they believe to be theirs.”

She smiled, but it was a very faint smile.

"Isn't it ridiculous that a family despised by all of Mondstadt is still dreaming of ruling Mondstadt?"

Xu Chuan didn't speak, he just listened quietly.

“When I was little,” Yura’s voice softened, “I thought that as long as I worked hard enough and did well enough, one day everyone would forget that surname and only see Yura as a person.”

She lowered her head and looked at the wine in her glass.

"Later I found out that it wasn't like that. Some people and some things can't be changed by your efforts."

Xu Chuan remained silent for a long time.

"Do you still want to continue?" he asked.

Yura looked up and glanced at him.

"of course."

She picked up her glass and took a big gulp.

"Besides, I haven't finished avenging myself yet."

"Count me in then."

Yura was stunned for a moment, not quite understanding.

"what?"

Count me in.

Xu Chuan repeated, "No one is better at revenge than me, count me in."

Chapter 43 Entering Her World

The two were positioned in a corner behind the bar, and it seemed that customers coming and going all chose to avoid this spot.
