A predatory glint suddenly appeared in those golden-green eyes.

......

When the young man wielding the greatsword entered the ruins, he didn't even glance at the corpse of the young man in the robe.

He glanced down at it briefly, then walked straight toward the black stone tablet.

The giant sword, carried on his shoulder, must have weighed at least sixty or seventy pounds, but in his hands it seemed weightless.

The young man appeared to be in his early twenties, with short hair, a stern face, and indifferent eyes.

He stopped three meters in front of the stone tablet.

"Is this it?" he muttered to himself. "All the symbols point here."

He stretched out his left hand, seemingly intending to touch the stone tablet directly.

Just then, a beam of green light shot out from between the tree canopy.

A thick, emerald-green vine descended from the sky and wrapped directly around the giant swordsman's left wrist.

The young man with the giant sword reacted incredibly quickly.

Without even looking back, he suddenly pulled his left hand back and simultaneously swung the greatsword off his shoulder with his right hand, slashing backhand.

"Oh!"

The greatsword collided with the vines, severing them in one strike and spurting out pale green sap.

But the next second, even more vines sprouted from the ground and the surrounding tree trunks, densely packed, as if the entire forest had come alive.

The elf rose from the tree branch, his longbow fully drawn, the arrow tip imbued with emerald green energy.

"To die."

The young man wielding the greatsword turned around and saw the elf's location.

"Prepare to die?" The young man with the greatsword planted it in the stone slab in front of him. "You try it."

The elf let go.

The arrow pierced the air.

The young man with the giant sword drew his sword to parry.

"Ding."

A crisp clanging sound echoed through the ruins as the arrow exploded on the surface of the greatsword, scattering green elemental energy. A few drops landed on the greatsword-wielding youth's armor, and fine vines instantly sprouted from the gaps in the shoulder armor, beginning to spread towards the joints.

The young man wielding the giant sword glanced down, then grabbed the vines on his shoulder and ripped them off by the roots, not caring at all even though the vines left bloody marks on his skin.

"That's it?"

The elf did not answer.

He had already nocked his second arrow.

This time it wasn't one, it was three.

Three arrows were fired simultaneously, at three different angles, blocking the greatsword youth's left, right, and top directions.

At the same time, the vines on the ground burst forth again, wrapping around the legs of the giant sword-wielding youth from below.

Surrounded on all sides.

The young man wielding the giant sword grinned.

He didn't hide.

A visible white sword aura burst forth from the blade, sweeping out in a 360-degree arc around the young man wielding the greatsword, instantly freezing everything in its path.

"boom!"

The entire ruins were trembling.

The stone slab cracked, pebbles flew everywhere, and the three arrows were shattered into pieces by the sword energy.

Pure, overwhelming force.

Lynn's lips twitched.

"Another monster," he thought to himself.

The elf's expression finally changed.

"You want to kill me..." The young man with the greatsword took a step forward. "You'll need to show some more skill."

The elf's expression remained calm as he leaped and darted between the trees, firing an arrow with each landing.

The arrows no longer aimed to kill, but instead embedded themselves in the ground, tree trunks, and rocks around the young man wielding the greatsword, as if they were setting up something.

The young man with the giant sword did not give chase.

He stood in the center of the ruins, coldly watching the elves' actions.

"Setting up a formation?" He scoffed. "You think I'd give you time?"

He raised his left hand, his five fingers spread.

A ball of icy blue light condensed in his palm, not much larger than a fist, but its temperature was terrifyingly low.

The young man swung the giant sword.

The puck hit the ground directly.

boom.

Centered on the point where the ice hockey puck landed, a ring of white permafrost spread outwards at an alarming speed.

The ground, fallen leaves, pebbles—everything was covered with a thick layer of ice.

The permafrost spread extremely quickly, and all the arrows the elves had previously shot at the ground were swallowed up by the ice.

The remaining wood-elemental magic on the arrow struggled for a moment in the ice before extinguishing.

The formation was broken.

The elf descended from the treetop, its toes landing on a branch that wasn't frozen, and its gaze darkened.

"not bad."

"No need to praise me." The greatsword-wielding youth pulled the greatsword from the ice. "You'll still die even if you praise me."

He began to walk towards the direction of the elves.

With each step he took, the ice beneath his feet would extend forward, like an ice carpet that moved with him.

The elf started to get really serious.

He drew an arrow from his quiver that was completely different from the previous ones.

The arrow shaft was not made of wood, but was entirely emerald green, exuding a rich life force, with a dancing green flame wrapped around the tip.

The elf drew his bowstring taut, and a vibrant green light enveloped him.

The young man with the giant sword stopped in his tracks.

A serious expression finally appeared on his face.

"interesting."

The elf let go.

The emerald green arrow shot out like a meteor.

The young man gripped the greatsword with both hands, and icy blue magic erupted from the blade, enveloping the entire sword in a giant ice pillar.

He met the arrow head-on and slashed down with all his might.

Ice and wood collide in the center of the ruins.

The emerald green flames and the icy blue chill erupted simultaneously upon contact, the two completely opposing forces tearing at each other, the shockwave sending the surrounding stone slabs flying.

After the shockwave dissipated, Lynn immediately looked towards the battlefield.

The young man with the greatsword was still standing, but his greatsword was covered in cracks, and the power of ice had obviously dimmed a lot.

The elf was still standing, but his longbow... was broken.

Both sides suffer.

The two looked at each other from a distance of more than ten meters.

The young man wielding the giant sword exhaled a breath of white mist and smiled.

"Not bad, you've got some sharp ears, you've got some skills."

The elf did not laugh; he threw away the broken bow and drew a short sword from his waist.

He wants to fight again.

The young man wielding the giant sword shouldered the cracked sword and took a step forward.

The battle continued, and the elf abandoned ranged attacks, engaging in close combat with a short sword.

He was incredibly fast, and his short sword was wreathed in highly corrosive wood-based magic.

The giant swordsman, on the other hand, has a completely different style.

His movements were not particularly agile, but each sword strike turned the space around him into a frozen wasteland, with the ice on the ground constantly expanding in an attempt to restrict the elf's movement.

The elf stepped onto the ice, and thin wooden patterns appeared under her feet, resisting the invasion of the ice.

His combat experience was extremely rich, and he used his short sword to search for openings in the gaps of the greatsword.

But the young man with the giant sword is also not easy to deal with.

He may seem reckless, but his control over distance is incredibly precise. Every seemingly wide and sweeping slash forces the elf to move in a specific direction.

Lynn figured it out.

The young man wielding the greatsword was driving the elf toward a corner of the ruins.

That corner is where the ice layer is thickest.

The elves were clearly aware of this as well.

After dodging once, he suddenly changed his move, advancing instead of retreating, thrusting his short sword straight at the greatsword-wielding youth's throat.

Instead of raising the greatsword to block, he simply released his right hand.

The giant sword fell to the ground.

A thick layer of frost gathered on his right fist, which he then slammed directly into the short sword.

The ear-piercing sound of metal colliding with frost rang out.

The elf's dagger was deflected, but he did not retreat.

He placed his free hand on the chest of the giant sword-wielding youth.

A bright green light shone in his palm.

The young man wielding the giant sword looked down at the hand pressed against his chest, and his expression finally changed.

"you......"

Emerald green light seeped into his body from his palm, and countless tiny vines grew wildly inside him.

The young man wielding the greatsword cried out in pain, grabbing the elf's wrist with his left hand. The ice that had condensed on his palm instantly froze the elf's entire left arm.

Two people were infected at the same time.

The elf's left arm, from his fingers to his shoulder, was completely covered in ice; it would probably shatter if you exerted even the slightest force.

Meanwhile, small lumps began to swell on the chest of the young man wielding the greatsword, as the vines sprouting from his body with wood-elemental magic were tearing him apart from the inside.

The two of them stepped back at the same time.

The young man hunched over, clutching his chest with one hand, and cursed through gritted teeth.

"What...what a sinister spirit..."

He suddenly raised his right hand and poured the power of ice into his body in an attempt to freeze the vines inside him.

The elf was also trying to save himself, using the remaining life force in his other hand to melt the ice on his left arm little by little.

Both of them were racing against time.
