I'm really not a Sanctuary Warlock.

Lisa blushed again.
She wanted to ask how to solve it, but swallowed the words back.
Because she knew that asking certain questions meant she wanted to be involved.
But she doesn't have that courage yet.
"Go to sleep," Lynn's voice came. "We have to travel tomorrow."
Lisa nodded.
She lay down next to Lynn and closed her eyes.
But she couldn't sleep.
Because she could sense that Lynn couldn't sleep either.
The two lay there in the darkness, each lost in their own thoughts.
Outside the tent, the night breeze blew gently.
The moon hid behind the clouds, making the tent even darker.
Lisa reached out and groped in the darkness.
Her fingers touched Lynn's hand.
Lynn's fingers twitched, then she took her hand.
Chapter 120 Sewers
When Lynn woke up, the bedside was empty; Lisa had left sometime earlier.
A faint sound came from outside the tent.
Lynn lifted the curtain and saw Anna meditating on a rock not far away.
Her eyes were closed, and her beautiful long hair swayed gently in the morning breeze.
"Where's Lisa?" Lynn asked as she walked over.
Anna opened her eyes. "She set off early this morning, saying she was going to scout the defenses on the east side of Holy Song City. I told her to be back before noon."
Lynn nodded. "I'm going to Holy Song City right now."
Anna frowned. "It's too easy to be exposed during the day."
“There’s no difference between day and night.” Lynn patted his invisibility cloak. “Besides, I don’t intend to waste any time. You wait here for Lisa, I’ll go by myself.”
Anna could only sigh in the end.
“Be careful,” she said.
"Don't worry," Lynn smiled, "I'll just run if I encounter any danger."
“I’ll give you the unknowns of the sewers.” Anna stretched out her finger and gently traced a few lines on Lynn’s palm.
That is a guiding mark marked with holy light, pointing to the entrance to the underground aqueduct of Holy Song City.
Lynn felt a slight warmth in his palm. Looking down, he saw a pale golden rune slowly rotating on his skin.
"Once you enter the sewers, follow the signs; they will take you to the city's underground core."
"There might be traps or patrols set up by the cult in the sewers. The invisibility cloak can fool the eyes, but it can't fool perception spells. If someone scans through with a detection skill, you might be discovered."
“I know.” Lynn squeezed the ominous ring. “I will be careful, Your Highness.”
Anna nodded upon hearing Lynn's answer.
"Go."
Lynn didn't waste any more words. He put on his invisibility cloak and walked in the direction Anna had marked earlier.
......
The entrance to the underground aqueduct of the city of Sacred Song is located next to a ditch outside the city.
Lynn found it easily.
It was a circular passage about two meters in diameter, with iron railings so rusted they collapsed with the slightest push.
Lynn had expected the sewers to be places full of sewage and garbage, but the passageway in front of him was surprisingly clean.
There was only a thin layer of dust on the stone steps, and there was no moss or mold on the walls on both sides.
He walked down the stone steps.
The passageway was much wider than expected, enough for three people to walk side by side.
After walking for about five minutes, the passage began to fork.
Lynn stopped and looked at the golden rune in his palm. The rune flickered slightly and then pointed to the fork in the road on the left.
Without hesitation, he went straight in.
A few minutes later, he thought he heard people talking in hushed tones.
Lynn slowed his pace and quietly approached. He turned a corner and saw a scene that stunned him.
There's someone in the sewer.
And quite a few.
There were about twenty people, including men, women, and children.
They huddled in the corner of the passageway, some sitting against the wall, others lying on the ground to rest. Their clothes were tattered, and their faces showed fear and exhaustion, like refugees fleeing a disaster.
More importantly, they were talking in hushed tones.
"Probably not, those people won't come into the sewers..."
"But I heard footsteps yesterday..."
"Those are rats, aren't they? The sewers are full of rats besides us..."
"I'm worried..."
Lynn stood still, observing the group of people.
They didn't look like members of the religious order; they looked more like ordinary residents.
Was it to evade capture by the church?
Just as Lynn was about to approach and ask, the crowd suddenly stirred.
A young man ran from the other end of the passage, his face full of terror.
"Oh no, they've thrown something down there!"
"what?"
"No...I don't know, I didn't see it clearly."
The crowd instantly panicked.
"Don't panic, the sewers are so deep, they can't possibly come in to search. Just stay hidden!"
Before the words were finished, a low growl came from the depths of the passage.
Lynn's pupils suddenly contracted; he sensed a dangerous aura rapidly approaching.
"Monsters! They let monsters in!"
The scream threw the passageway into chaos.
Lynn's eyes were fixed on the depths of the passage.
The next second, he saw several giant praying mantises.
Each one is as tall as an adult male, covered in gray-black carapace, and its forelimbs are two sharp, scythe-like blades.
They crawled quickly through the tunnel.
Just as Lynn was about to make his move, a sword light flashed from the center of the crowd.
It was an extremely sharp sword light, carrying a strong killing intent.
A flash of sword light, and the nearest mantis was sliced in two, black blood spurting out.
Lynn's pupils contracted.
He looked toward the source of the sword light.
There stood a thin man in a red robe, his face covered with a cloth.
He had a deep wound on his right arm, and blood was dripping down his fingers.
Another flash of sword light appeared, and the head of the second mantis flew off.
The man in red took a step back, his chest heaving violently.
"Run deeper into the sewers!" he shouted to the crowd. "There's a fork in the road at the end of the sewers that leads out of the city."
The crowd began to surge deeper into the passageway.
The remaining mantises roared angrily and pounced on the man in red.
The man in red is a very skilled swordsman.
Lynn assessed him and found that he was level 56.
But his physical strength was clearly failing.
The fifth mantis's scythe slashed across his left shoulder, spraying a cloud of blood.
The man in red groaned and knelt on one knee.
Lynn emerged from the shadows, simultaneously deactivating his invisibility cloak.
His appearance startled the man in red.
"who are you?"
"Just passing by." Lynn drew his short sword. "Don't ask so many questions, let's deal with what's in front of us first."
All five mantises turned towards him at the same time.
Two minutes later, the last praying mantis fell to the ground.
Lynn leaned against the wall as if nothing had happened.
The man in red was sitting not far away, simply bandaging his wound with a strip of cloth.
"Who are you?" he asked again.
“Just a passerby.” Lynn didn’t confess; instead, he asked, “And you? What’s the deal with those residents?”
The man in red remained silent for a few seconds.
“My name is Sain,” he finally said. “I used to be the captain of the guard in Holy Song City.”
"once?"
“I’m a fugitive now.” Sain gave a wry smile. “Three weeks ago, the Order occupied Holy Song City, and all the guards who refused to join them were purged. I managed to escape and hid in the sewers with some residents.”
Lynn nodded; this matched the information he had gathered earlier.
"Were those mantises released by the cult?"
“Yes.” Sain’s face darkened. “They know there are people hiding in the sewers, but they don’t want to come in and catch them themselves, so they drop a batch of monsters down every two or three days.”
Lynn didn't speak; his gaze fell on the corpses of the mantises as he quickly made a mental calculation.
These monsters are around level 40, and although there aren't many of them, they are very dangerous.
"How many people are still in the sewers?" Lynn asked.
"There are about 300 people, scattered in different areas. My unit is responsible for patrolling and early warning."
“More than three hundred people?” Lynn frowned. “How will we deal with food and water for so many people?”
“We have some reserves,” Sain said, without going into details. “And…we found something in the sewers.”
"what?"
Sain hesitated for a moment, then stood up.
