Her voice was not quiet at all, and it was especially clear in the quiet night.

At a time like this... if Leon were to say, "Are you serious?", wouldn't that just make Adele angry again?

Of course, Li Ang was just thinking about it; he wouldn't do something so tactless.

Silently walking to the bedside, Adele, already holding a pillow, moved to the other side of the bed, making a large space for Leon.

Adele's actions touched upon Leon's introspection, leading him to make an extremely serious decision: just as he had promised before, Leon would no longer hide anything from Adele.

Lying in bed, Li Ang put his arms behind his head and slowly revealed the secret he had kept hidden in his heart until now.

"Adele, do you know that I am not actually from this world?"

"I suddenly arrived in this unfamiliar world without knowing anything about it."

Li Ang recounted his past experiences bit by bit, including the world where there were no Originium or natural disasters, and although there was some chaos, it was generally peaceful.

"If such a world really existed... I really want to go and see it..."

Before she knew it, Adele was breathing evenly.

"...She's already asleep."

Li Ang turned around and reached out to cover Adele with the blanket.

The night is still long, and they have a lot of time ahead of them.

A chance flutter of a butterfly's wings bound two people's fates together. No matter how many difficulties and obstacles lie on the road to the future, they will continue to walk together as they are now.

Until forever.

Goodnight, Adele.

Author's note upon release and the usual bounty

Well... this is the third time I've written a post about my book's release, so there's not much to say.

The outline for this book has already been completed, so there's no need to worry about it being abandoned.

When I was writing the previous book, I didn't get to write many stories I wanted to, so I just put them in this one instead. Actually, I was really annoyed when I started writing this book... Not only was my own writing not very good, but I also didn't expect YJ to pull such a stunt. The book is doing really badly now, and even my best efforts couldn't save it.

Well, that's fine then... I hope this book doesn't do too badly, just enough to keep me from starving.

Then comes the usual posting of a reward. As for the reward, it's 100 monthly votes, 100 dollars, and 1 yuan for one chapter. Gold chests will be converted into a few more chapters, and for silver chests, I suggest you just send them to my Alipay account (laughs).

There is no upper limit to the reward.

To be honest, there isn't a single chapter in this book that's been drafted, and the daily updates are all done in advance, but I'm not worried at all. I can't possibly add more chapters anyway.

Besides, with a detailed outline, my highest record is 4.6 words in a day, so I'm not worried at all.

That's settled then. I hope everyone will continue to support me in the future.

Chapter Eight: The Great Knight's Territory (Seeking first subscriptions!)

The next day, the sun rose in the east as usual.

Although nothing happened last night, Li Ang felt that something in the world had changed. Besides living a peaceful life, he had found something else he could dedicate himself to.

"Adele, is everything packed? If it is, we should leave now."

"Okay, I'll be right there."

After answering like that, Adele came running over a while later, carrying her package.

This morning, Adele woke up Leon as usual, as if what happened last night had no effect on her. But Leon knew that he had successfully taken a crucial step last night.

"Heave-ho."

After tossing the package into the trunk, Adele instinctively reached for the driver's side door, but Leon stopped her.

"You've been driving all the way, so I'll take care of the rest of the way."

“Hmm… alright,” Adele thought for a moment and didn’t refuse, “but Leon, can you find the way to the Great Knight’s Territory?”

"Isn't there you here? If I ever get lost, I'll ask Adele to remind me."

"Then leave it to me."

After purchasing some heavily overpriced supplies from the innkeeper, they officially embarked on their journey to the Great Knight's Territory.

The trio of apostles had left the post station long before they woke up, when it was just dawn. This made Li Ang feel a little regretful. He hadn't even thought of how to thank them before they simply left.

To Li Ang's surprise, they didn't encounter any trouble after leaving the post station. It was as if all the bounty hunters who were willing to risk their lives for money had changed their ways and let go of these two easy targets.

What Li Ang didn't know was that not long ago, just as dawn was breaking, a group of bounty hunters quietly left the post station and followed the three 'traveling doctors' who had no fighting ability.

It's possible that the conversation between Dr. Shining and Leon at the time caused some people in the hall to have inappropriate fantasies.

Several days later, Leon and Adele arrived safely at the Great Knights' Territory.

……

"Is this... the Great Knight Territory?"

The Great Knights' Territory, officially known as Kavaleria, is a name that sounds a bit awkward, but it's the name only the most powerful mobile city in Kazimierz can have. It's also the location of the triennial Knights' Tournament, so it wouldn't be wrong to call it the capital of Kazimierz.

Unlike his last visit to Brandenburg, Li Ang's perception range has expanded considerably, allowing him to more intuitively experience the grandeur of the mobile city.

It's hard to imagine that with Terra's distorted technology tree, a city of this scale could be built. What's even more terrifying is that this city can actually move, and its movement speed is definitely not slow.

The existence of Originium challenges Leon's common sense in every way.

Because of the upcoming Knights Tournament, a large crowd had gathered at the entrance of the mobile city, and the queue did not move forward even a meter for a long time.

I don't know how long they crawled forward, little by little, before it was finally their turn.

The security personnel at the entrance didn't even check their infection status; they simply registered them and let them in.

But that makes sense... If we had to check each and every one of these tourists, it would have been such a waste of time. Compared to the sheer number of visitors, the risk of an infected person sneaking in is negligible.

"Completely different from Brandenburg..."

The vehicle slowly drove along the street. Li Ang had thought that this place would be similar to Brandenburg, with a scene reminiscent of the early 18th century. After all, the villages of Kazimierz that he had encountered along the way were all dilapidated, so he figured the city wouldn't be much better.

Moreover, the word 'knight' easily evokes images of medieval times, of tin cans encased in silver armor.

But Li Ang was wrong, and he was terribly wrong.

It's as if he has traveled across hundreds of years, directly from the Middle Ages to the modern society of the 21st century.

Towering skyscrapers stand everywhere, electronic billboards hang on the shops on both sides of the street, and loud music and advertisements echo through the streets. Modern sports cars and motorcycles whiz by, leaving behind a polluted atmosphere with excessive levels of Originium particles.

Adele was already overwhelmed by the world outside the window, and Leon wasn't much better off. The sudden return from the 18th century to the modern era would make anyone feel subtly uncomfortable.

And... this doesn't look like a 'Knight's Kingdom' at all.

"Wow, this place is amazing! It's completely different from Letania! Does Sarah live here?" Adele exclaimed excitedly, leaning against the window.

Although Adele had visited many places for field research, most of them were small towns or villages, and she had never seen such a highly modernized society.

“That’s what the professor wrote in his letter.” Li Ang took a deep breath and said, “Kasimir looks… completely different from what I imagined.”

This gave rise to new questions in Li Ang's mind.

So... what about the knights? In this completely modern society, what role do the 'knights' of the Kingdom of Knights play? He couldn't quite imagine how a group of old-fashioned knights could rule this modern society.

Adele thought for a moment, then replied, "I think I heard Sarah mention this before. Kazimierz is governed by four agencies."

"The Censorate, representing traditional warrior knights; the National Assembly, representing ordinary citizens; the Knights' Association, composed of competitive knights; and the Commercial Union, established by merchants."

"It's actually divided into four parts?"

Li Ang couldn't help but twitch his lips. This country... really was a bit chaotic. He could already imagine the scene of the four representatives arguing and bickering at the meeting.

After asking several passersby, they successfully found the address that Professor Valcke had given to Leon. When they arrived there, they discovered that it was not the apartment they had imagined, but a villa of a fairly large size.

In a place like the Great Knight Territory where land is incredibly valuable, owning a villa is no easy feat. Even Adele's parents worked hard for most of their lives before finally acquiring a villa with the support of William University.

It seems that even though she is away from her father, Professor Valcke's daughter is living a good life.

"Let me go check first."

After parking the car on the road outside the villa, Adele went over and knocked on the door.

A moment later, a series of thumping footsteps came from inside the house, followed by a woman's voice coming from behind the door.

"Who is it? What do you want?"

"Let me make this clear first: we don't subscribe to newspapers, we've paid our water and electricity bills for the year, we don't have children and don't need milk, and if you're trying to sell insurance, please leave immediately. We've already purchased premium commercial insurance from AXA Group and don't need the services of any other fly-by-night companies."

After finishing her long speech in one breath, the woman took a deep breath and said...

"Alright, is there anything else you want to say now?"

Chapter Nine: The Professor's Daughter

The woman's rapid-fire speech left Adele feeling completely bewildered. After being bombarded with a barrage of words, she even forgot what she had wanted to say, and her arm hung awkwardly in mid-air.

A moment later, Adele couldn't help but cast a pleading look at Leon.

Li Ang, listening from the side, also found it somewhat amusing. Although he didn't know if the person behind the door was Professor Valcke's daughter, her words just now suggested that she was definitely a seasoned housewife.

Door-to-door salespeople and fee collectors are uncommon in Letania. All expenses for the villa are covered by William University, and Adele has probably never had a similar experience.

All I can say is... this is life.

With a slight smile, Li Ang stepped forward and knocked on the door in Adele's place.

“Excuse me, are you Ms. Sarah Kuhn? We are students of your father, Professor Valcke. He gave us this address and told us to come here to find you,” Li Ang said.

"Also, I'm currently traveling with Adele Naumann. I think you should know her."

As the words fell, through the thin iron door, Li Ang felt the Caprini woman behind him pause in her movements, then suddenly open the villa door.

Li Ang took a step back in time to avoid the door hitting his nose.

The woman completely ignored Li Ang at the door. After glancing around the room, her gaze fell on Adele.

"Adele! Long time no see!" The woman suddenly pounced on her, putting her hands under Adele's armpits and lifting her high into the air.

Without a doubt, this seasoned housewife was exactly what they were looking for: Professor Valcke's daughter, Sarah Kuhn.

Sarah was slightly taller than Adele. After picking Adele up, their eyes were level. Sarah immediately leaned in and rubbed her face against Adele's.

"Hmph, it's been years, Adele, and you haven't grown any taller. If you keep this up, you'll never be able to surpass your older sister." Sarah said in a slightly indistinct tone as she nuzzled against her. "It's been almost five years since we last saw each other. What made you suddenly decide to come here to see your older sister?"

“Let go, Sarah…” Adele tried to push Sarah away, but without a doubt, she couldn’t move her sister who was already engrossed in the moment. “There are other people watching…”

Sarah finally stopped after Adele said that.

At that moment, Sarah realized that the voice that had answered her earlier... sounded like a man's?

Sarah gently placed Adele on the ground and turned her head to look. Only then did she notice Leon, whom she had previously overlooked.

Sarah frowned, looked Li Ang up and down, and then asked hesitantly, "I wonder who this gentleman is..."

“Hello, Miss Sarah, I’m Li Ang.” Li Ang said only after the other party noticed him.

Adele rubbed her slightly reddened cheeks and then added, "Leon... he's my senior. Without Leon's help, I probably wouldn't have been able to leave Letania. In short, the situation is a bit complicated."

"Also, Miss Sarah, this is a letter that Professor Valck asked me to give to you."

At this moment, Li Ang also took out the letter and handed it to Sarah.

"senior?"

After handing over the envelope, Sarah looked back and forth between Leon and Adele with some suspicion before taking a step back and clearing the way to the interior of the villa.

"Anyway, please come in first. We can explain everything later."

After leading the two to sit down in the living room on the first floor, Sarah said, "Wait a moment, I'll go get some tea and snacks."

After Sarah left the living room, Leon leaned close to Adele and whispered, "This Miss Sarah... she and the professor have such similar temperaments..."

"So Sarah is the professor's real daughter."

Seeing that Sarah wasn't there, Adele grew a little bolder and whispered to Leon, "If either Uncle Valcke or Sister Sarah had just backed down a little, things wouldn't have turned out like this..."

Impulsive, stubborn, and acting without considering the consequences, capable of doing anything when they get carried away, these traits are almost identical in both father and daughter, with no difference whatsoever.

This personality trait is actually a good thing for their friends, because if they encounter any difficulties, only such people will help their friends without regard to the cost.

"However, Miss Sarah's husband doesn't seem to be here. I'm a little curious about what kind of person he is."

"I'm not too sure about that... I was preparing for my exams at the time, and Sarah suddenly had a falling out with Uncle Valck, which startled me."

It is said that Sarah had a falling out with her father because of her marriage. Professor Valcke did not seem to approve of Sarah's boyfriend. After a big fight, Sarah eloped with her boyfriend in a fit of anger and fled all the way to Kazimierz.
