<The Crown of the Witch King>

Chapter 1 A Terrible Time Travel

L was awakened by the pain.

When consciousness returned to his body, L felt intense pain surging from his limbs and bones, as if a tank had run over him, and there wasn't a single intact bone in his body.

The pain kept stimulating L's fragile nerves, leaving him no energy to think about anything else.

The only thing L can do now is blink his eyes and tilt his head slightly while enduring the pain; it's almost the same as being completely paralyzed.

His vision was completely black; he couldn't even see the faint outlines of things, only absolute nothingness.

After an unknown amount of time, L's pain gradually weakened, replaced by a tingling, numb, and itchy sensation. Compared to the previous pain, this sensation was not much better and was equally unbearable.

However, this unbearable feeling also represents good news: L's body parts are still intact, he hasn't inexplicably lost any limbs, and the injuries he suffered are not fatal. He is gradually regaining control of his body.

Once L recovered enough to think about other things, only one thought remained in her mind.

This is completely inexplicable.

L couldn't understand his current state. His memory was still stuck on last night. He had played games all night and couldn't stay awake any longer, so he collapsed on the bed and fell into a deep sleep. Who knew that he would encounter this kind of thing when he woke up.

Was he kidnapped? Or is there some other special circumstance?

L tried to get up from the ground, but no matter how hard he tried, he could only feel more pain and couldn't move his body an inch.

It felt as if something heavy was pressing down on his body, forming a narrow area in his lower body. Although he didn't feel much pressure, it did completely fix L's body in place. Now, apart from his head, the only things he could move freely were his two arms.

Within reach of his hands, L couldn't find anything except for the dirt and rubble scattered on the ground. Naturally, his phone, which he had placed next to his pillow before going to sleep, had also vanished.

After struggling in vain for a while, when his body started to ache again, L could only helplessly admit that he couldn't move the heavy object weighing him down by himself, not to mention that he couldn't see the situation in front of him, and moving around might make things worse.

The completely enclosed, dark, and cramped space, the heavy weight pressing down on him, and the dusty smell lingering around his nostrils—all these clues hinted at L's current predicament, but L didn't immediately consider this bizarre possibility.

"Earthquake...cough cough cough..."

As soon as he opened his mouth, a large amount of dust rushed into L's lungs. The violent cough aggravated his injuries, and in excruciating pain, L obediently closed his mouth.

Sure enough.

The dust swirling in the air further confirmed L's suspicions—he was now buried under the rubble.

If L is not mistaken, a major earthquake likely occurred while he was asleep, and the collapsing building buried him underneath.

L didn't know whether to call himself unlucky or lucky.

Unfortunately, he encountered a once-in-a-lifetime earthquake while he was asleep. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured in such an earthquake. Apart from his lower body being trapped and unable to move, the most serious injury he suffered was a head injury that caused him a slight headache.

After understanding the current situation, L gradually calmed down.

Although we don't know how long ago the earthquake occurred, the government will definitely respond immediately, and rescue workers are certainly on their way.

L was filled with optimism. All he had to do now was conserve his energy and patiently wait for the rescuers to arrive. He was certain he would be saved if he persevered.

However, L overestimated his ability to withstand the pressure.

In this absolute darkness and silence, L had lost the ability to judge the passage of time; the only thing he could feel was his own heartbeat and his increasingly heavy breathing.

How much time had passed since he regained consciousness? An hour? Two hours? Or less than five minutes? As time went by, L's mood gradually sank to rock bottom.

How long until the rescuers arrive? How much longer can I hold on? These two questions kept swirling in L's mind.

L dared not rest, fearing that if he fell asleep, he might miss the arrival of the rescue team.

After an unknown amount of time, just as L was becoming somewhat dazed, he finally caught a faint sound from a great distance.

"We still didn't make it... This place has been completely destroyed by natural disaster..."

It was a young-sounding female voice, filled with sorrow and regret, "If only I had warned them sooner..."

Upon hearing this voice, L's spirits instantly lifted.

Admittedly, if you think about this voice carefully, there are actually many problems. For example, the other person's age, why would the rescue team allow such a young person to join, and the way the other person spoke, which is quite different from what L remembers.

However, L's inner ecstasy had completely clouded his judgment, causing him to ignore these details.

"Help! I'm here!!" L shouted with all his might.

While shouting, L banged the ground hard with the stones he had picked up, hoping to get the other person's attention.

L's efforts were not in vain. After calling out a few times, L heard hurried footsteps approaching his side, followed by that slightly young voice.

"Huh?! There's a survivor? Are you alright?"

Upon hearing this voice, L found it difficult to describe his feelings. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and then replied, "It's okay, I wasn't seriously injured."

"But my lower body is stuck, so I can't move," L pointed behind him.

"Please don't worry, I'll find a way to get you out right away."

Then L heard a flurry of frantic movements. The other person was probably trying to get to his side urgently, but accidentally tripped over the rubble.

L had a vague feeling that something was wrong, but couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

So L put the matter aside for the time being and said to the man, "Now that you're here, I have nothing to worry about."

"But could you please move that thing off my head? I feel like I haven't seen sunlight in ages, and the darkness in front of me is really unbearable."

After saying that, L felt the man's movements suddenly stop.

"Sunlight? But... ah! This..."

The man stammered and couldn't say anything.

Gradually, silence fell between the two, and the smile on L's face, which had been beaming with joy at being rescued, gradually disappeared.

He finally realized where the problem lay.

If he is buried under the rubble, how did that woman get to him?

If he wasn't buried under the rubble, then why couldn't he see anything?

The answer is simple, but he just doesn't want to believe it.

L's eyes are blind.

Chapter Two: Adele Naumann

"Ugh... What should I do now...?"

Looking at the unconscious young man in front of her, Adele Nauman seemed somewhat at a loss.

The other person was full of energy one second, and then suddenly fainted without warning. She had never encountered such a situation before.

So it really is because her acting skills are so bad...

When Adele heard the young man say that he hadn't seen the sun in a long time, she already knew what had happened to him. The blazing sun was high above them, and although there were ruins around them, how could they not have seen any sunlight?

Then there's only one possibility left—this person has a problem with their eyes.

Sure enough, on that dusty face, Adele noticed a scabbed-over wound that ran straight from the corner of the eyebrow into the other person's eye.

To be blind yet still alive is arguably more painful than death.

Out of mere sympathy, Adele instinctively wanted to conceal the situation, at least until the other person was rescued.

Unfortunately, Adele's acting was so bad that her deliberate attempt to conceal the truth backfired, making the other person realize their condition more quickly and causing them to faint from the shock.

If we hadn't hidden the truth and had instead chosen to tell the other person the truth tactfully, would the situation be better now?

As Adele was caught in a dilemma, a burly Fuente man ran over from the other side of the ruins, shouting as he ran, "Miss Nauman, I've searched the other side of the village, there's no one alive."

After running to Adele's vicinity, the burly man caught his breath and said, "Miss Nauman, we'd better get out of this godforsaken place quickly. How could anyone survive a natural disaster in such a small village?"

Hearing the loud shouts, Adele recovered from her earlier confusion and greeted the burly man without turning her head, "Mr. Noyce, you've come at the right time. I've found a survivor here, but it's difficult for me to rescue him from under the rubble by myself. I'd like to ask for your help."

After saying that, Adele seemed to realize that what she said was inappropriate, so she added, "I will pay extra for it."

Upon hearing this, the burly man named Noyce was visibly taken aback, then somewhat sheepishly patted his head, "So, there really were survivors..."

Miss Adele was a scholar from the big city who came to this rural area to conduct fieldwork, and Noyce was the guide she hired in a nearby town to help with some manual labor.

On their way back to town after completing their survey, the two unfortunately encountered a minor natural disaster. However, this disaster manifested as an earthquake, and its impact was not widespread. The two narrowly escaped death.

However, the small village located at the epicenter of the natural disaster was not so lucky; it was reduced to ruins in just a few seconds.

After learning of the village's existence from Noyce, Adele insisted on going there to find out more, but Noyce strongly opposed her naive idea.

Adele believes that since the natural disaster has only recently occurred, if there are any survivors in the village, then the two of them are the only ones who can help them. However, Noyce thinks that if the natural disaster had occurred in a large town, it would be one thing, but how could anyone survive in such a small village?

Moreover, venturing into the contaminated area after a natural disaster is an extremely dangerous undertaking, and even if the scholar provided the appropriate protective equipment, it could not completely guarantee their safety.

If something unexpected happens in the contaminated area, my life might be over.

Despite Noyce's grumbling, he couldn't resist the stubborn scholar's insistence, especially the 'extra reward' she mentioned, a reward that greatly appealed to him.

Tempted by money, Noyce shamefully succumbed and ultimately decided to accompany the scholar to the contaminated area. After entering the ruins of the village, the two split up to search for possible survivors.

Noyce's search yielded no results. The villagers were either crushed to death by collapsing houses or swallowed by bottomless fissures in the ground, which was basically in line with his previous guesses.

But to his surprise, there were actually people who survived in the epicenter of the disaster.

Looking in the direction Adele was, Noyce saw a young man buried under a pile of rubble, beams, wardrobes and other messy things, with only half of his head and two arms showing.

When Noyce saw the strikingly pale short hair, a look of realization dawned on his face. "Oh, he's an Agor. That's alright then."

He had been wondering who was so powerful that they could survive a natural disaster, but since it was a tough-skinned Agorian, then there was no problem.

Moreover, his distinctive white hair indicates that this young man belongs to the most unique branch of the Agor clan.

Long ago, before he was shot in the knee, he had the privilege of meeting such a person. Recalling the exaggerated strength of the man who could split a small mountain in two, Noyce couldn't help but shudder. He had no further doubts about how this young man could survive a natural disaster.

Their monstrous physical strength is unmatched by many races in the world. Fortunately, there aren't many people of the Agor branch; an ordinary person might never encounter one in their lifetime.

"Huh? An Agorian?"

Adele paused for a moment, clearly wanting to ask something, but she managed to control her curiosity. She could ask any questions later; the most important thing now was to rescue the person from the rubble as quickly as possible.

After some effort, the two finally managed to clear the debris off the young man and pull him out.

After briefly checking the other person's physical condition, Noyce couldn't help but click his tongue in amazement, "As expected of an Agorian, he's not badly injured. He's really lucky."

Aside from looking a bit disheveled, the man only suffered minor injuries. Even if the falling beam had hit him on the head, he would have only gotten a big bump. If it had been anyone else, that one blow would have killed them on the spot.

Adele, however, was not as optimistic as Noyce. She said worriedly, "But his eyes... seem to have some problem. When I found him, he was still conscious and said he hadn't seen the light in a very long time..."

"Oh? Is there something wrong with your eyes? Are you blind?"

Noyce didn't seem to have any particular feelings about this. After checking that the young man didn't have any serious injuries, Noyce carried him on his back. "Even if he really went blind, it wouldn't be strange. It's already a miracle that he survived a natural disaster. If he had been unlucky enough to fall into a crevice in the ground, no one could have saved him."

Adele hesitated, but had to admit that Noyce was right.

Apart from this young man, everyone else in the village was dead. This is how powerless ordinary people are when faced with natural disasters.

If one could exchange their own eyes for their life, many people would probably agree to such a deal.

Being blind is better than being dead.

Thinking of this, Adele's face darkened. Although it wasn't her fault, she still felt a deep sense of guilt.

If only she had been more observant and had noticed the signs of the natural disaster earlier, issuing a warning to the village.

In this way, the villagers wouldn't die, and the young man wouldn't suffer an undeserved calamity and lose his sight...

"Alright, Miss Nauman, let's get out of here quickly."

"Secure the unconscious youth to your back," Noyce said.

"Um……"

Adele nodded, stood up, and silently followed Noyce's steps.

Chapter Three: Terra

While Noyce and Adele were busy evacuating the contaminated area, L regained consciousness in a strange place.

Like a game that was given away as a bonus due to a bug and then went out of sync, this is a world filled with white light.

In the blink of an eye, L found himself in this strange space. Soft white light filled his vision, and his body was in a strange state of weightlessness, unable to move anywhere else.
