What about Nick Fury?

Does he know these things?

Or what's even more terrifying is that he's also part of Hydra?

No, Fury couldn't be.

But Pierce—the U.S. representative to the World Security Council and one of the de facto controllers of S.H.I.E.L.D.—

If he is a Hydra agent, then the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. is in grave danger.

Natasha quickly processed the information in her mind.

Project Insight, ostensibly designed to combat alien threats, is in reality a tool for Hydra to eliminate all potential opponents.

Each of the three space carriers carries enough weapons to simultaneously lock onto hundreds of thousands of targets.

If these weapons fall into the hands of Hydra…

She must leave immediately, tell Fury the truth, tell the Avengers, and stop Project Insight.

Just then, a piercing alarm suddenly blared throughout the entire base.

The red warning light began to flash, and Natasha's heart sank.

"Attention please!"

The broadcast echoed throughout the base.

"An outsider has infiltrated, posing as an insider. All personnel on alert. Base will be sealed off shortly, and a full search will commence. Repeat: An outsider has infiltrated..."

Damn it! Natasha's heart raced.

Has she been exposed?

Or did someone else infiltrate as well?

She had to leave immediately, no matter what.

Natasha quickly assessed the situation, turned into a side corridor, and moved towards the logistics area she remembered.

There should be a garage and a backup exit there.

The sound of orderly footsteps and commands came from behind, clearly indicating that the search operation had begun.

"Everyone, show your ID card and iris scan!"

A man who looked like an officer shouted the order.

Natasha quickened her pace, but maintained an inconspicuous speed.

Panic will only arouse suspicion.

She nodded to a few passing guards, feigning composure, and then quickly slipped into a storage room around the corner.

There is a ventilation duct here that leads to the underground parking lot 037.

She quickly pried open the vent cover and crawled inside.

The dark and narrow passageway was uncomfortable, but it was the safest route.

She crawled forward through the metal pipes, occasionally hearing footsteps and shouts from below.

Ten minutes later, Natasha slid down a vent in the parking lot and landed between two military jeeps.

There were noticeably more guards in the garage than usual, and each exit was heavily guarded.

Natasha crouched behind the car and quickly devised a plan.

A direct breakthrough was impossible, but she noticed a waste disposal channel in the northwest corner, which was usually used to transport large waste items.

.....

156: Natasha's Crisis!

There are relatively few guards there.

She quietly moved to a truck and found an engineer's coat to put on.

Then he grabbed the toolbox next to him and pretended to inspect the vehicle.

And so, she gradually approached the entrance to the garbage chute.

Just as she was about to reach her target, a team of heavily armed agents suddenly poured out of the elevator.

The person leading the group held up a photo and shouted to those around him:

"Watch out for this woman! Redhead, 168 cm tall, extremely dangerous!"

Natasha recognized the photo in the man's hand—it was a picture of her before she disguised herself.

This is terrible; they have already confirmed her identity.

Without a moment's hesitation, Natasha dropped her disguise and rushed straight into the garbage chute.

"That's her! Stop her!"

There was a shout from behind.

Several gunshots rang out, and bullets struck the wall next to her.

Natasha leaped into the garbage chute and slid rapidly down into the darkness.

She could hear the curses of the pursuers behind her, as well as urgent orders coming through the communicator.

At the end of the passage is a large garbage compactor.

Natasha managed to grab onto a pipe on the tunnel wall at the last moment, thus avoiding being compressed.

She pried open the maintenance door next to her, climbed out of the passage, and found herself in the forest on the outskirts of the base.

But the crisis is far from over.

The roar of a helicopter could be heard in the distance, and searchlights began to scan the forest.

Natasha knew that Hydra would not easily let go of those who knew their secrets.

She must leave this area as soon as possible and find a safe place to contact Fury or another trustworthy person.

However, her communication devices were damaged during her escape, and she had no tools on her to contact the outside world.

Natasha moved swiftly through the forest, using the dense canopy to block the helicopter's view.

She needed to find a road, a small town, or anywhere that could offer help.

After running for two hours, Natasha finally saw the road and streetlights in the distance.

It was a small, suburban community that looked peaceful and ordinary. She had to seek temporary refuge here and then figure out how to contact S.H.I.E.L.D.

But just as she was about to walk out of the edge of the forest, a black SUV suddenly stopped not far away.

Four men dressed in black got out of the car, each carrying a portable thermal imaging camera.

The Hydra search team has caught up.

Natasha gritted her teeth and looked around.

She was exhausted, unarmed, and without backup.

But she cannot be captured; she cannot let Hydra's plot succeed.

She quietly moved deeper into the community, hoping to find a temporary hiding place in the residential area.

The brightly lit streets and houses gave her a glimmer of hope.

If you could find a phone, or a computer…

Suddenly, Natasha noticed a house that looked different from the others not far away.

(Good Zhao)

It is located on the edge of the community, with high walls and a security system that is significantly more robust than the surrounding residences.

But strangely, there were no obvious surveillance cameras there, as if electronic surveillance had been deliberately avoided.

An intuition told her that this might be her chance.

Natasha approached the house cautiously, avoiding streetlights and potential surveillance spots.

She cannot be hunted down by Hydra.

.....

157: Being targeted by Hydra?!

As she scaled the wall and entered the courtyard, she was surprised to find its layout professional and meticulously planned.

It resembles the residence of an experienced agent or soldier.

Just then, footsteps and whispers came from behind.

Hydra's pursuers have entered the community and are searching house to house.

Natasha had no choice but to risk seeking help from the owner of the house.

She gently knocked on the back door, preparing for any eventuality.

A few seconds later, the door opened.

A tall Asian man stood in the doorway, his sharp eyes immediately locking onto her.

Natasha recognized him—Lin Feng.

The intelligence community knows very little about him, but there are rumors that he has a powerful organization behind him.

 037 “I need help.”

Natasha said it bluntly.

"Hydra agents are hunting me down."

A hint of surprise flashed in Lin Feng's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure.

He stepped aside to make way:

"come in."

As soon as Natasha stepped into the room, she heard the sound of a car engine outside the window.

Hydra's search team has arrived in the vicinity.

Lin Feng closed the door and quickly activated some kind of electronic device.

"This will interfere with their thermal imagers and communication equipment."

He explained calmly.

"It should be safe for now."

"Thank you."

Natasha relaxed a little.

"I need to contact S.H.I.E.L.D., it's very important."

Lin Feng handed her a glass of water and walked to the window to cautiously observe the situation outside.

"Hydra."

he said softly.

"I thought they were a thing of the past."

"They never disappeared."

Natasha answered.

"They are infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D., using Project Insight to prepare a global purge. In three days, if no one stops them, the world will be unrecognizable."

Lin Feng turned to look at her, a thoughtful glint in his eyes.

"So, that's why you're being hunted. You've discovered the truth."

Natasha nodded, and was about to explain in detail when she suddenly heard heavy footsteps outside the door.
