I always imagine what to do if the worst happens.
"Don't always worry that falling in love with me will hurt me!"
Kiana was able to understand Lu Mo's thoughts.
Love is a heavy thing; once two people are connected by love, that feeling will inevitably affect their entire lives.
For example.
If the captain, she, and Mei lived in a world without the Honkai and became classmates.
Due to various reasons, the captain had to make a choice between the two women, and either way, it would hurt the one who wasn't chosen by the captain.
And this harm is enough to affect the entire life of the person who was not chosen.
For example, after the captain chose Mei, she watched with tears in her eyes as the captain and Mei walked down the aisle.
He lived alone after that until decades later, when he fell asleep on a deck chair in the spring, stroking old photos.
That's probably what it feels like.
Because love is such a heavy thing, that's why the captain was so restrained when faced with her temptation.
It's only been a day, and the captain probably isn't mentally prepared to receive the love of the Earth God yet.
"Or are you afraid that if you break my heart, I'll throw the moon down and hit someone in a fit of anger?"
Kiana playfully stuck out her tongue, instantly dispelling the burning impulse in Lu Mo's eyes.
"My Kiana would never do such a thing!" Lu Mo slapped Kiana's head in annoyance.
Chongchong has always been a kind child.
"Honestly, Captain, you're so confident in me in a place like this, but why are you so insecure when it comes to matters of the heart?"
Kiana continued pinching Lu Mo's cheek, "Captain, do you really think the person you like has such poor taste? Captain, you need to have more confidence in yourself!"
Kiana was right, but for Lu Mo, the principle was easy to understand but very difficult to put into practice.
After all, the psychological burden of calling a fictional wife a "paper doll" is completely different from the psychological burden of having a wife become a real person.
"So, Captain, what you need to do next is to receive the services of your personal maid, Kiana!"
Chapter 8: If the insects can't cut vegetables well, it must be a problem with the knife.
"Maid service? To be honest, I don't have much confidence in you, Kiana."
Once he regained some clarity and stopped thinking about those irrelevant things, Lu Mo immediately chose to lie down.
Do you really have experience working as a maid?
Kiana may have work experience, but she works as a waitress or maid.
"With such a cute maid like me, I'm willing to provide any kind of service!"
Kiana proudly addressed Lu Mo without hesitation.
The only man in the world who would make me, Kiana, serve as his maid is you.
Does the quality of service matter that much in a situation like this?
Of course, after saying that, Kiana flashed a smile that was unusually service-oriented, turned around and walked to the kitchen to put on an apron, looking like she was about to show off her skills. She untied the bow on the back of her maid outfit, making the clothes a little looser, which not only made it easier to move around but also gave Lu Mo more room to "ambush" her.
"Is it really okay?"
The setting sun's rays streamed through the windowpanes, casting a cool silver hue on the enamel knife rack, the light and shadow perfectly reflecting on the girl's flushed cheeks. Kiana bit her long, enviable silver hair between her lips, her focused yet slightly clumsy expression causing Lu Mo's heart to skip a beat.
"Is the captain questioning my abilities?" Although she said this, her hand suddenly stopped tying her apron. The soft fabric couldn't be tied into a proper bow at her waist, instead forming a ridiculous crooked arc.
The vegetables, freshly taken from the refrigerator, were covered with a few drops of clear water, as crisp and refreshing as her slightly tense breathing.
"It's up to me! Hmm, the Captain's kitchen knife should be here... And then, it seems the Captain doesn't have an oven? What should we make then?"
"Honestly, I can't do anything with you," Lu Mo sighed helplessly and indulgently as Kiana's confident offensive vanished the moment she entered the kitchen. "To take care of a maid who can't even tie an apron properly, I'm afraid you can't find many masters in the whole world as unfortunate as me."
Without hesitation, he came up from behind, his warm chest pressed tightly against her equally soft back, his hands encircling her slender waist, and in a posture full of protection and possessiveness, he completely embraced her.
"Don't move, let me do it."
The height of anime girls is often set to be just right, and Lu Mo's height of over 1.8 meters showed an absolute advantage at this moment. He easily enveloped her in his shadow, looking down at her every subtle movement.
"Ouch!!!! Ouch ouch ouch!!!"
The sudden intimate contact caused Kiana to gasp in panic. Before, she had been the one taking the initiative and controlling the pace; but now, the roles had reversed. For the first time, she experienced what it felt like to be completely "conquered" from behind by a man in such a forceful way—a feeling that made her heart race.
"Even though you use a gun, your knife skills shouldn't be too bad, right?" Lu Mo's warm breath, like a feather, gently brushed against her sensitive earlobe, startling the fine downy hairs on her ear that looked like crushed diamonds.
Lu Mo works in clerical work, so his palms don't have calluses from the high intensity of his work, but they still look too rough for Kiana's skin.
Lu Mo's fingers enveloped Kiana's hands from behind, the warmth of his palms passing through her slightly cool hands. His chest pressed against her back, his heartbeat seemingly able to penetrate the thin fabric, steady and powerful, striking her spine.
His breath landed right next to her ear, the warm air caressing her and startling the fine, silvery downy hairs on her earlobe, like scattered diamonds.
"Captain..." Kiana's voice trembled almost imperceptibly, "If you do this... I can't chop vegetables like this!"
Before, she was always the one taking the initiative, so she didn't feel anything. But now, she was the one being "hunted," held in his arms like this, clearly feeling the touch of his fingers, the warmth of his breath, and even... the burning heat full of masculinity that she couldn't ignore even through her clothes.
Kiana's heart skipped a beat, and her hand holding the cleaver began to tremble uncontrollably.
"Clang..." A crisp metallic sound rang out as the blade missed its mark and struck the cutting board. The setting sun shone through the frosted glass of the kitchen, elongating and overlapping the shadows of the two people, casting an ambiguous silhouette on the wall, like swans with intertwined necks in a shadow play.
"Is it my fault?" Lu Mo chuckled softly, gently resting his chin on her shoulder, his nose brushing against her sensitive neck skin intentionally or unintentionally. "I was just helping you."
He could feel the girl in his arms' body temperature rising rapidly. His fingers, which were originally cool to the bone, now felt contradictory, both tensely cold and passionately hot. Mischievously, he didn't let go, but instead tightened his grip on the back of her hand, lightly stroking her sensitive spaces with his fingertips.
"Captain, can't you... can't you look away a little bit!" Kiana's cheeks were so red they were almost bleeding. How could she possibly do a good job chopping vegetables while he was staring at her like that! Without hesitation, she pushed all the blame for her clumsy efforts onto the ill-intentioned man behind her.
She turned her head slightly, her azure eyes, also shimmering with moisture, glaring at him with a hint of reproach and an undisguised shyness.
"Or perhaps..." Her voice trailed off with a honeyed sweetness, making even her words, full of rejection, sound like a secret invitation, "...in your eyes, my charm...is less than a plate of shredded potatoes?!"
"Hehehe...Yes, my lady." Lu Mo understood her unspoken meaning. He cooperated perfectly, slowly shifting his gaze away from her slender, unruly hands.
His gaze, like that of a master connoisseur, began to scrutinize her perfect, youthful, and vibrant body with unbridled abandon. From the graceful curve of her neck, slightly taut with tension, to her upright yet supple waist encased in her maid outfit, and then to her equally astonishingly elastic, rounded breasts…
Although the two are currently only in an "informal" romantic relationship—after all, they have only confirmed their feelings for each other, but have not yet formally labeled each other as their own.
But that was enough to make all of Lu Mo's "unruly" behavior no longer count as being a hooligan.
Kiana's meaning was clear: she wanted Lu Mo to focus more on appreciating her "beauty" rather than her clumsy "behavior".
Women dress up for those they love. Being gazed at with such possessive eyes by the man you love is an unparalleled pleasure.
“That’s right…don’t look at my hands…just like this…” Kiana’s heart pounded as she felt that burning gaze roam over her. She tried to make her voice sound calm, “…look at other places…”
Although there wasn't a trace of moisture in the kitchen, Lu Mo felt as if he were enveloped in a hazy mist filled with an ambiguous atmosphere. He could clearly see the graceful lines of the girl's spine in his arms, rising and falling slightly beneath her thin clothes, like a bowstring about to be fully drawn by the evening breeze.
He even had a delusion that if he loosened his grip even slightly, the beautiful "spirit" full of vitality before him would quietly dissipate like the colorful clouds after the rain, disappearing once again into that distant darkness that did not belong to the mortal world.
Kiana's deliberately rapid breathing was like honey lemon sauce that had been simmering for years—thick and tempting.
Something traced an alluring curve along Kiana's long neck as she swallowed. That subtle movement seemed like a silent invitation, urging Lu Mo's breathing to completely betray the shackles of reason, becoming as rapid and hot as hers.
The air in the kitchen seemed to thicken, like the broth about to boil on the stove, teetering on the edge of a bubbling simmer. He could clearly hear his uncooperative heart beating in unison with her every subtle movement.
"Indeed, giving direct benefits is the most effective."
Kiana's voice carried a hint of triumphant laughter. She turned around, casually pulling down the collar of her already loose maid outfit a little further to alleviate the rising heat in the small kitchen. Just then, the setting sun pierced through the gaps in the blinds, filling her delicate hollow with a pool of liquid golden light.
The light seemed to come alive, following the texture of her skin, as if it were about to overflow from her rounded shoulders and spread wildly across her equally smooth and delicate back.
Lu Mo's gaze was uncontrollably drawn to the flowing light. He even took a step forward and, with his fingertips, gently drew a circle on the warm skin covered in light, a gesture that carried a hint of blasphemy.
Something more intense and concrete than mere ambiguity was quietly growing between the cutting board and the knife, in their intertwined breaths and gazes. The feeling was like dough rising, uncontrollably expanding in the silence, forming a heart-stopping arc.
"That's hard to say," Lu Mo's voice also carried a hint of husky amusement. He didn't withdraw his "mischievous" hand; instead, he intensified his actions, his fingertips slowly sliding down the curve of her spine. "—Trying to escape this way? Your own movements... are already completely chaotic."
"No way!"
Kiana's body trembled violently. She could clearly feel her already unruly heart pounding wildly with every movement of his fingertips. The violent heartbeat seemed to pierce her chest and shatter directly on the cold kitchen knife, pushing the blade to cut the vegetables on the cutting board into irregularly sized pieces.
"Oh?" Lu Mo chuckled softly, gently resting his chin on her shoulder, his warm breath spraying onto her sensitive earlobe, which was also flushed with a beautiful blush. "—Your mouth is quite stubborn."
“Look,” his fingers had silently wrapped around her slender waist from behind, “are you cutting this into diced stir-fried vegetables? It seems… the menu for tonight really needs a serious overhaul.”
Chapter 9 Who says the food cooked by Kaslana's family can't be eaten?
"Never mind, I'll do it. I know you're capable of cooking, Kiana, but as long as I'm here, you won't have to do it."
As twilight simmered in the enamel pot until it turned into a syrupy consistency, Lu Mo's body heat seeped through the double-layered knitwear into Kiana's back.
Lu Mo tightened his grip, perfectly unleashing his powerful aura upon Kiana. The overwhelming aura completely overwhelmed Kiana's reason, relentlessly eroding her thoughts.
"Captain... but I said I'd give you the best maid experience~ Eeya!"
The intense heat she felt caused Kiana, who was used to the cool climate of the moon, to gasp in surprise.
Lu Mo's scorching heat made her involuntarily restrain her movements. The omnipotent Herrscher of the End turning into a docile and adorable little wife just by feeling Lu Mo's warmth—no one would believe such a thing if they told others.
The protest sound in her throat turned into a sweet, trembling tone, and the hilt of the knife made her palm sweat. Lu Mo's wrist bone suddenly pressed against her ulnar nerve, transmitting a bio-electric current that made her fingertips tingle.
"Don't worry, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to serve me!"
He chuckled as the tip of his nose brushed against the stray hairs behind her ear, and his left hand suddenly reached for the pepper shaker on the edge of the counter—this feint made Kiana instinctively lean back, just enough to send her into the protective embrace of his arms.
Lu Mo narrowed his eyes and gently slid his hands over Kiana's waist.
"Captain! You can't touch those areas like that!"
The increasingly ambiguous atmosphere in the room was instantly shattered by Kiana's crisp exclamation, as those mischievous hands moved directly to Kiana's abdomen.
"Eat more meat later, the nutrition on the moon is still not enough."
Lu Mo grinned mischievously and gently poked his lower abdomen, which is densely packed with tactile nerves.
Although Kiana has grown a lot compared to before, Lu Mo still has a very strong bias towards Kiana who has come to his side—which manifests in Lu Mo's genuine feeling that Kiana doesn't have much fat on her stomach and needs to supplement her nutrition.
It doesn't feel as plump and chubby as I imagined.
"Captain, you're so mean!"
Kiana spoke softly and coquettishly, her tone towards Lu Mo becoming low and muffled as if all her strength had been drained away.
"What I meant, what I meant was clearly, humph, you idiot captain, you did it on purpose, didn't you!"
Kiana didn't believe that Lu Mo hadn't understood her hint.
"Just because I understand what you mean doesn't mean I have to do what you say."
Lu Mo casually dipped his finger into the simplest of seasonings, white sugar, and slowly put it into Kiana's mouth.
The girl's earlobes gleamed like coral beads, and the knife tip trembled on the vegetables as she spoke. Lu Mo's breath brushed against the downy hair on the back of her neck, sending a shiver down her spine.
His palm moved down along the lines of her abdomen, as if caressing an ancient jewel, leaving his fingerprints on it would be the most intense desecration.
"I just enjoy teasing you like this," Lu Mo's voice lowered again, transforming into a seductive magnetism. "Is that not allowed?"
It was as if icing sugar had been sprinkled into warm water, turning into a sweet, cloying sensation in the steam.
Kiana leaned back and gently bumped into Lu Mo, and something unseen seemed to fall between their intertwined fingers.
"Um, Captain, could you please hold my hand? I feel like I'm getting a little out of control!!!"
No, we can't withstand the captain's offensive at all.
As long as Lu Mo released his warmth from behind, Kiana would naturally feel an indescribable aura brushing against her mind, her mind constantly being shrouded in a chaotic mist, and her mind becoming increasingly uncontrollable.
A fine, tingling sensation spread across the back of her neck, like the pistils of a newly blossoming pear in the spring morning, moistened by dew. The lukewarm warmth transformed into an invisible breeze, carrying a thin mist of pine resin that swept over her nerve endings, rippling outwards in the depths of her thoughts.
"Don't rush, take it one step at a time."
The soft rustling sound of the blade as it moved was like pine needles falling onto a bluestone slab on a snowy night.
Porcelain-white and wheat-colored fingers intertwined on the knife handle like vines, the grooves in their palms quietly closing with each push and pull. The rhythm of the blade kissing the cutting board initially fell short, like rain dripping from the eaves, but gradually resonated with the cicadas chirping near and far outside the window. The silver light dancing on the dark red wood grain shattered and then stitched together their shadows.
Breathing sounds swirled within arm's reach, like silk fluttering in the wind. Two plump potatoes, amidst the scattered knife cuts, shed their rough outer layers, revealing their golden-yellow flesh.
Starch granules fell from the edge of the cutting board, much like stardust falling from someone's eyelashes.
"It's...it's finished...."
What should have been a minute or two of chopping vegetables took the two of them five minutes, but neither of them felt they had wasted time.
This was an experience I had never had before. Under the gentle breeze, beads of sweat fell silently, rippling out waves of love.
"Now comes the crucial part."
Lu Mo gestured for Kiana to open her arms and carefully tied the apron around Kiana's neck.
