So what are your plans next?

Levi thought for a moment and suggested, "Why don't you leave the doctor with me for a few days? I'll have him come back before you go to Columbia."

"I want to examine him. After all, the bodies of humans who have entered the space age are indeed rare and precious materials for a biologist like me."

"No human experiments are allowed on him!"

Ernst frowned and warned,

"The doctor's safety is paramount; he cannot afford any mishap!"

Levy nodded and gave Ernst an OK sign.

Even if Ernst hadn't reminded him, he wouldn't have done that.

No matter how advanced the technology, human experimentation will always have some negative effects on people—donating blood normally makes you feel weak for several days, let alone having it done on your body.

The Doctor's identity, abilities, and perceptions are all unique. Levi can distinguish between a full stomach and a regular meal. If possible, he would prefer to wait until the Doctor regains his memories before trying to learn more about "human civilization" from him.

He's a PhD, and so am I. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a drink together, exchange ideas, and enjoy each other's company?

Ernst and Levi walked back to the sofa in the lounge and told the Doctor about Levi's idea. The Doctor nodded, but he made a request:

"If possible, could you try to help me recover my memories?"

Levi glanced at Ernst with some difficulty:

"I'm afraid I can't do that. The way you lost your memory is something I've never heard of before. To be honest, that method seems more like magic to me than science."

"Just give it your best."

The doctor said,

"Kal'tsit is always hiding things from me. I suspect she is under some kind of restriction that prevents her from speaking, and the source of that restriction is alas."

The doctor let out a long sigh and skipped over the name he was reluctant to say.

He had to admit that while he suspected Priscilla, he absolutely did not want to suspect her.

Precyth's behavior was abnormal, but she was one of his own. Even just seeing her human appearance would bring to mind several incredibly familiar yet utterly alien images.

Just as Ernst had always said, they may have truly been very close in the past, even if they weren't lovers, they were still best friends.

Who would secretly reminisce about old friends in their heart?

His kindness prevented him from doing such a thing.

Therefore, he could only say:

"In short, I need more sources of information. I don't want to be a dumbfounded fool standing there, accepting your protection when trouble comes."

"I want to protect more people."

"So, this is my decision."

The doctor said solemnly.

His gaze fell on Ernst, who met his gaze. After a moment, Ernst nodded.

"Try not to hurt the doctor."

Chapter 1055 "The Key Is Time, My Child"

Columbia, Maxwell District, Whitehouse.

Mornings in Colombia always come exceptionally early, with sunlight pouring down like molten gold, bathing the South Lawn of the White House in a brilliant golden hue. Today is a rare and beautiful day—the sky is clear and cloudless, a pristine blue expanse untouched by a single cloud.

Mark Max stood on the bird perch on his balcony. Outside the window, his "hard-working" Vice President Wilson was exercising on the lawn with his wife and daughter. Thanks to Mark Max's recent handover of power, Wilson seemed much more relaxed; he even had time to collect information and privately play with his daughter outside his office in the heart of power, without worrying about whether he would lose the next election.

Putting aside the accusation of political apathy, it was a remarkably soothing scene. But Mark Max had no time to appreciate it; his father Friston's words still echoed in his mind.

“Mark Max, think it over. This is the last piece of advice I can give you.”

"Your father, I have had countless successful works that have helped us roam the stars and enabled me to equate our will with the laws of nature."

“I believe that I, and everyone around me, miss those days, just as the Iberians on this land miss their golden age.”

"But Mark Max, they were all destroyed."

"Their collapse was more complete than the fall of Gaul. The fall of Gaul merely symbolized the end of an era, but after the failure of the [Preserver] Project..."

"A civilization has come to an end."

"The merciless axe has severed all the branches of civilization, leaving only a tombstone-like stump for later generations to gaze upon with sorrow. No matter how unwilling we are to admit it, the era of humankind has already passed."

"The thing I'm most grateful for is that I was able to meet you in this era. Mark Max, you are also one of my salvations."

"So this is the only advice I can give you: Mark Max, think it over!"

Mark Max was initially puzzled and resistant to Trevor Friston's meaning.

For the first time, he wanted to argue with his father!

How could it have ended?

Ancient civilizations possessed technology that transcended time and space, and the ability to unify all possibilities. They were the embodiment of all that is good, possessing all the elements that humanity could imagine constituting a great society—abundant productive forces, inexhaustible resources, high social moral standards, and a free living environment!

Those Agorians, who merely imitated the tip of the iceberg of ancient civilizations and built their own social system, lived a life that was truly "heaven" compared to "hell" in modern Terra!

How could such a powerful, great, and unparalleled ancient civilization be "ended" so simply by a single sentence?

Mark Max admitted that they had encountered some minor setbacks.

But so what? Even in their most desperate times, they had created four effective survival plans, and none of these plans were "declared failures".

Even the Preservator Project, the one overseen by Trevor Friston, was one that Mark Max resolutely refused to acknowledge as a failure.

His father will never fail! He will always be wise, intelligent, and victorious!

Even if some people say that the "Preserver" project failed to preserve even a single human being.

He would also say that the Preservator preserved him, that he is the true son of the prehistoric civilization! He is the son of humanity, and he will inherit everything, rule everything, seize Terra's sword, become Terra's shield, and fight for humanity!

Trevor Friston saw the pent-up emotions within Mark Max's emotional processing module.

Although that function was no longer available, a bittersweet smile of relief still crept onto his lips.

Mark Max never saw the legendary prehistoric civilization in his lifetime; he only glimpsed a fleeting glimpse of it in the materials left by Trevor Friston.

But he displayed a belief that far exceeded the imagination of Trevor Friston, a man of prehistoric civilization! He generated, and even surpassed, the belief in his own civilization held by many people of prehistoric civilization!

Trevor Friston was both relieved and saddened by this.

As he said, he felt incredibly gratified to be able to see a creation like Mark Max in this era.

He and Ed will definitely get along well.

In the past, this would have been ridiculed by Ed—Trevor Friston, whose ideas clashed most with his own, created a machine that most closely resembled his own personality.

Unfortunately, those people will never see it.

“Mark Max, that’s the truth.”

Even the most powerful nation will perish, and what replaces it may not be a greater nation.

"Just like in the treasure's memory, the once glorious Tang Dynasty left behind only ruins. The country that eventually rose from its corpse was nothing more than the weak Song Dynasty, which reached its peak at the beginning of its reign and later suffered countless humiliations throughout history."

"Our civilization is extinct, and there is no possibility of it being resurrected. You need to remember this. If someone tries to deceive you by talking about resurrecting human civilization, they are definitely lying to you!"

4. Did you lie?

But where is the lie in this statement?

Mark Max took a small step forward, getting closer to the Preservator's colossal form.

A data cable dangled in front of Trevor Friston.

This was a primitive form of data transmission. When it was brought down, Mark Max was even surprised, seemingly never expecting his father to use such a method to transmit information to him.

But Trevor Friston said nothing.

He felt genuinely fortunate because, although the [Preserver] project was small in number, it was indeed an independent resource. The energy he used was not [Originium], which gave him a degree of privacy in front of that person.

As for Mark Max, his creation, he did not use Originium energy on him initially. Even though Originium may have seeped into his body over the years, he could still use Mark Max to access his system and use his own algorithms to shield him from any potential "surveillance."

The moment Mark Max connected, his voice was transmitted via data transfer.

"Child, beware of Priscilla."

"And beware of prophets!"

“I’m not sure who among them is the problem, but there must be one of them who lied to us.”

"I need you to prepare."

"I want you to mobilize your army and aim all your weapons at this stasis facility. During our meeting, you must remain vigilant at all times. If anything unexpected happens, you must immediately make the decision to completely destroy this place."

"I authorize you to have your own judgment and to make all decisions based on that judgment. I authorize you to attack humanity and its creations, whenever you deem it necessary. I authorize you to use the power I have left you when necessary."

"Kristen used one-tenth of the remaining energy from the Stasis to open the Star Pod for a brief moment. The remaining nine-tenths of the energy, I'll give to you."

Mark Max quietly accepted all orders.

But he had one last question:

"But why, Father?"

"Why should I attack either Prismus or the Prophet? What exactly is the meaning of their betrayal?"

Trevor Friston remained silent.

After a long while, he let out a long sigh, and his eyes held a complex mix of emotions as he looked at Mark Max.

Mark Max, my son, didn't I tell you? Think more!

Why can't you understand?

Then let me ask you, why is your head so pointy?

"Then let me ask you, Mark Max, based on your current understanding of our plans, which one of our plans do you believe is aimed at 'preserving the flame'?"

"That's definitely your [Preserver] plan!"

Mark Max answered without hesitation.

"Then let me ask you, what did the [Preserver] Project preserve?"

Trevor Friston asked again.

That's a rather pointed question.

Mark Max couldn't very well just answer, "A pile of rotten flesh," could he?

This might seem a bit presumptuous of his deceased godfathers whom he never met.

Oh, her sister and mother should also be inside.

Seeing Mark Max's data transmission link fall silent, Trevor Friston understood what he was avoiding.

He gave a wry smile.

It's all in the past. It's not like anyone hasn't moved on. There's no need to be so sensitive.

I've really moved on! I don't dream about my daughter's wedding anymore! Really!

Trevor Friston's words left both Mark Max and himself speechless for a moment. After a long pause, he spoke again, pretending nothing had happened:

"What about the fulcrum of heaven?"

"Integrate human intelligence, gather firepower, find a path, and defeat the enemy." Mark 3 Max didn't falter this time.

"There's no intention to preserve the human race, is there?" Trevor Friston did not comment on Mark Max's remarks.

The role of the Heavenly Pivot is multifaceted, and what Mark Max has summarized is only a fraction of what it has shown. However, it is sufficient.

after all

"No fire was preserved, was it?"

"Let's talk about the Deep Blue Tree again."

Trevor Friston said,

“Luo Lu’s plan is feasible, but it’s too late. She’s too late, and so are we.”

"Her big friends may eventually survive the disaster, but we won't see it. And the life forms created by Lu will build their own civilizations."

"In short, there is no human presence in that future."
