"You tell me first, I'll find out soon enough." Zhang Yu felt as if a kitten was scratching at his heart; the curiosity he had been building up over the past few days was about to burst out of his chest.

Lei Yao couldn't bear to look directly into his burning gaze, so he simply picked up his gun and closed his eyes.

He was instructed not to disclose this information to outsiders, so he naturally had to keep quiet.

Moreover, the idea that it was a real white dragon was also unbelievable to him.

Chapter 10 Dragons! There really are dragons!

Zhang Yu stepped off the plane with a resentful expression.

Seeing Lei Yao calling for the soldiers to assemble, he pursed his lips unhappily, turned his head, and looked around.

In the distance, mountains can be seen, but this area is a temporary cluster of prefabricated houses.

"I'll be working here for a while?" Zhang Yu scratched his head, feeling inexplicably bewildered.

He looked around, and in his field of vision, besides soldiers in camouflage uniforms and a few men and women hurrying by, there was no one whose temperament resembled his own.

Did no one from the archaeology circle really come?

As he hesitated, a group of three people walked towards him.

The man in the lead was wearing a white shirt, looked a few years older than him, and had a warm smile on his face.

"Are you Dr. Zhang?" The man extended his hand from afar and said, "I'm Liu Chongyu. Sorry I was held up by something."

Zhang Yu put aside his chaotic thoughts and extended his hand, saying, "Director Liu, you're too kind."

He had already been instructed that Liu Chongyu would be in full charge of the affairs here when he arrived.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Liu Chongyu gestured for him to wait a moment, then walked towards Lei Yao.

A moment later, he walked over with Lei Yao.

"Should you settle in first, or meet with our clients?" Liu Chongyu asked with a smile.

"The service recipients?" Zhang Yu asked, puzzled.

Shouldn't they be the subjects of study?

Lei Yao glanced at him, knowing that this Dr. Zhang had a problem with him, and took the initiative to make amends, saying, "Dr. Zhang may not be quite clear about what he is about to face."

Liu Chongyu understood, slapped his forehead, and said, "It was my oversight, but this is a serious matter, and there are not many people who know about it. Dr. Zhang, please understand."

"What exactly is it?" Zhang Yu was even more confused.

"Let's talk as we walk," Liu Chongyu said, waving to the people beside him and signaling them to go about their business.

After walking a short distance and seeing that no one else was around, he turned to Zhang Yu and asked, "Dr. Zhang, you're in charge of the Dragon Research Lab, right?"

Zhang Yu thought to himself, "Stop talking nonsense," and nodded, suppressing the urge to complain.

"Don't you understand yet?" Liu Chongyu smiled mysteriously.

He was actually really frustrated.

Knowing that there was a dragon, he couldn't tell anyone, not even his family, which caused him great mental and physical torment.

Now that he finally has the chance to tell people this openly and honestly, he's instead tempted to show off.

"Dragon?" Zhang Yu asked tentatively.

He thought about it all the way there and felt that this was the most likely possibility.

"Dr. Zhang is indeed exceptionally intelligent!" Liu Chongyu exclaimed.

Zhang Yu touched his sparse forehead and asked in confusion, "Have you verified that the skeleton might be pieced together, or perhaps it's just some kind of prehistoric giant python?"

Lei Yao looked at him, seemingly wanting to say something but then stopping himself.

Liu Chongyu was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter and said, "Dr. Zhang, did you think it was dragon bone?"

Zhang Yu asked doubtfully, "Otherwise what? It can't be a living dragon, can it?"

Liu Chongyu patted his stomach, and it took him several seconds to stop laughing before he said, "Dr. Zhang really guessed right!"

"Is it really a living dragon?" Lei Yao couldn't help but ask.

He knew about it, and it was clearly stated in the confidentiality agreement, but he still couldn't believe it.

Zhang Yu stared wide-eyed at the two of them in astonishment.

Liu Chongyu stopped, his smile fading, and said seriously, "Gentlemen, let's leave such questions at that. When we get to it, please don't say such things again."

“In addition,” he added, looking at the two of them, especially Zhang Yu’s astonished expression, “it has a name, Bai Lin. You can call it Mr. Bai. Most of the time it is very gentle.”

"You...you mean a real dragon?" Zhang Yu felt his worldview crumbling.

While studying abroad, he met a very famous Chinese economist, who then began to preach to him.

Out of curiosity, he visited the church and exchanged ideas at the seminary, but he scoffed at the conclusions he drew.

He firmly believes that there are no gods or ghosts in the world, and that even if there are some phenomena that science cannot explain, it is only because the development of technology is too backward.

However, he found it hard to accept that a government official was now telling him that dragons existed in the world.

Liu Chongyu patted Zhang Yu on the shoulder and said with emotion, "Before meeting Mr. Bai, I never imagined that dragons really existed in the world, but it just happened!"

"I heard it fell from the sky?" Lei Yao suddenly asked.

Zhang Yu turned to look at him.

Liu Chongyu nodded: "That's right, we just happened to run into the 'Towards Science' program team... We're almost there."

"By the way, don't look directly into its eyes."

"Why?" Zhang Yu asked instinctively.

“The suppression of a superior being,” Liu Chongyu said, “you can try it if you’re not afraid of having nightmares!”

After speaking, the three passed the last checkpoint.

Ahead was a cement road, which seemed to have been paved recently, as there were still some damp marks on the surface.

Once he stepped onto the cement road, Liu Chongyu shut his mouth.

The three walked forward in silence, and the atmosphere became solemn.

After turning a corner, Dragonfall Valley appeared before them.

Looking at the row of prefabricated houses in the distance, Zhang Yu and Lei Yao exchanged a glance, both feeling inexplicably nervous.

"Do dragons really exist in this world?" Zhang Yu muttered softly.

He could never believe it.

"Perhaps it's some kind of mutated python?" he suddenly wondered, asking in a low voice.

Liu Chongyu shook his head, gently patted his shoulder, and strode forward.

Lei Yao gripped the pistol at his waist and followed closely behind.

"It must be a mutated python!" Zhang Yu thought to himself. "But it's very rare for one to mutate into something like a dragon!"

Lost in his thoughts, the three of them walked into the Valley of Fallen Dragons.

After passing several more sentry posts, Zhang Yu fixed his gaze on the house in the center.

As he was looking over, he suddenly saw a woman wearing a light-colored shirt and a black skirt walk out from the other side and head towards the house.

The woman has a beautiful profile, a slender figure, and a pair of particularly eye-catching long legs.

She carried a large bowl of cut fruit with some difficulty.

“That’s Guan Mi, our colleague,” Liu Chongyu noticed Zhang Yu’s expression and reminded him, “Be polite to her.”

"Does she have connections?" Zhang Yu asked in a low voice.

Liu Chongyu glanced at him and said in a low voice, "She is Mr. Bai's personally appointed assistant."

Appointed by imperial decree?

Could that mutated python possibly speak?

He's probably just a zookeeper, but he's acting all mysterious!

“Let’s go,” Liu Chongyu emphasized again, “Remember, whatever you do later, don’t look directly into its eyes!”

The three of them walked to the tall house. Liu Chongyu went first, knocked on the door, and called out, "Mr. Bai."

Under the curious gaze of Zhang Yu and the other person, the door was opened from the inside.

When Zhang Yu saw Guan Mi open the door, he couldn't help but take a second look.

His gaze swept over her pert nose and rosy lips.

"Such a beautiful girl as a zookeeper..." Zhang Yu looked away, secretly regretting it.

"Mr. Bai is here, please come in." Guan Mi glanced at the three of them and said to Liu Chongyu.

She guessed who the other two were, but now was not a good time to talk.

Liu Chongyu nodded and followed behind Guan Mi.

Lei Yao clenched his fist, then released it easily, feeling tense.

Zhang Yu looked around curiously.

He found the interior of the makeshift house to be quite modern, with a cabinet against the wall filled with books, a screen in front, and light coming from behind, mixed with the sound of a television.

He quickly followed the group through the screen and saw the scene on the other side.

The other side of the house, beyond which lies a shimmering pool of water, instead of a wall.

His expression faltered slightly when he saw the scales in the pool, reflecting a gleaming light like white jade.

Following the scales upwards, leading to the sofa in front of him, Zhang Yu froze when he saw the enormous dragon head.

dragon!

There really are dragons!

……

Did Chapter 11 scare you to tears?

"Its antlers resemble those of a deer, its head a camel's, its eyes a rabbit's, its neck a snake's, its belly a clam's, its scales a fish's, its claws an eagle's, its paws a tiger's, and its ears a cow's..."

The image of the Eastern dragon that Zhang Yu had learned about during the training a few days ago flashed through his mind, and it was almost exactly the same as the white dragon in front of him.

Even though he was a staunch atheist, and just seconds before he thought he was about to see a mutated python, he was now quite shocked by the white dragon.

So much so that when Bai Long looked at him, he forgot to look away and met Bai Long's gaze directly.

In an instant, fear overwhelmed us like a tidal wave!

Zhang Yu's face turned deathly pale instantly, and his legs trembled.

Just as he was about to fall, a pair of hands covered his eyes.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Bai, he was so shocked to see you that he forgot the rules!” Liu Chongyu’s voice came out.

Zhang Yu was covered in sweat and gradually regained consciousness.

He clutched his chest, panting heavily, his doubts long since vanished.

If it wasn't a legendary dragon, how could it have nearly killed him with just one glance?

Just a moment ago, he felt like he had walked through the gates of hell!

Liu Chongyu had already removed his hand, and Zhang Yu reflexively turned his head away.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the white dragon raise its head.

He wanted to look but dared not, his posture was awkward, and he was tormented.

However, what happened next startled him so much that he almost sat down on his backside.

"Is he really my health consultant? Why is he so timid?"

Zhang Yu's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he heard that voice.

The dragon is speaking?!
