Suzaku looked up in astonishment and, through the panoramic display screen, saw a female knight clad in lake-blue armor kneeling on one knee atop his mech.

"Oh, a junior with the same name." A female voice with a smile came from the communicator, the voice as clear and mysterious as moonlight.

"Your disheveled appearance is unworthy of the name Lancelot."

Suzaku's Adam's apple bobbed, sweat dripping from his chin onto his driver's suit: "Um... who exactly are you?!" His voice was filled with disbelief, "The helper Yuffie mentioned?"

The fairy knight did not answer. Suddenly, her figure transformed into a blue arc of light, tracing a perfect Z-shaped trajectory across the night sky.

The cockpit of the first Glasgow aircraft suddenly burst into sparks, and the pilot didn't even have time to scream; the second aircraft was cut in half, and the flames from the explosion illuminated the entire bay.

"Begin." Her voice suddenly rang in Suzaku's ear, "Step back a bit so you don't get knocked away."

Suzaku instinctively pulled the control stick, and Lancelot retreated rapidly. In that instant, the remaining three enemy planes exploded into fireballs, and metal fragments rained down onto the dark sea.

The fairy knight's figure hovered in mid-air, his lake-blue armor shimmering with a mysterious aura under the moonlight, and the spear of light in his hand pointed straight at the sky.

"This... what exactly is this..." Suzaku's lips trembled slightly. He had never seen such a terrifying way of fighting before—it was not the power of technology, but more like some kind of magic that transcended common sense.

The fairy knight turned to look at Lancelot, a meaningful smile curving his red lips beneath the mask:

"Remember that, junior. A true knight doesn't give up so easily."

"Yes!"

Suzaku's voice echoed in the cockpit, and his fighting spirit was rekindled in his emerald eyes.

However, reality remained harsh—the piercing beeping of the energy alarm reminded him that the machine could no longer maintain even the most basic maneuverability.

"Sorry... my energy has run out..."

Suzaku's voice was filled with deep remorse. He lowered his eyes, his eyelashes casting shadows on his face. "Please don't worry about me..."

The fairy knight was all too familiar with that expression—it was the look of a martyr who equated self-worth with sacrifice.

"Foolish." The fairy knight's voice suddenly turned cold, and his lake-blue armor gleamed dangerously in the moonlight.

Do you think self-sacrifice proves anything?

At this critical moment, two scarlet beams of light suddenly streaked across the night sky!

"boom--!"

Amidst the deafening explosion, the two approaching Glasgows were instantly transformed into fireballs.

"That's...?!" Suzaku's exclamation rang out through the communicator. He looked up at the night sky, his pupils reflecting the elegant silhouette of the golden machine.

“Heyyy… its performance looks pretty good too.” The fairy knight landed lightly on Lancelot’s shoulder armor, moonlight shimmering on her lake-blue armor.

She tilted her head to look at Gawain high in the sky, a playful smile curving her red lips beneath the mask: "Although he's still not as good as me."

"That's Gawain!" Suzaku reported reflexively, then frowned in confusion, "But... it's clearly an unfinished experimental machine..."

"Gawain?" The fairy knight suddenly chuckled, tapping his chin lightly with his fingertip. "What a machine that doesn't live up to its name~"

The image of the knight of the same name from the Fang Clan flashed before her eyes—a muscular woman who stood in stark contrast to the streamlined golden mecha before her.

Inside Gawain's cockpit, CC's long green hair shimmered faintly under the blue light of the display screen: "Is that white mecha called Lancelot?"

Her golden eyes glanced at the surveillance footage, "As reckless as ever~"

“Yes,” Lelouch’s voice sounded particularly cold after being processed by the voice changer, his purple pupils reflecting the battle map.

“But this time it seems to need backup.” Long, slender fingers tapped the control panel unconsciously, concealing the embarrassment of having come all this way.

“Send single units to disrupt the main force and create chaos…” he analyzed in a low voice, his fingertip suddenly touching his left eye, “Even if it fails, Cornelia will be able to act easily…”

The Geass mark tingled slightly. "This strategy..." His purple eyes narrowed abruptly. "Is it Xiuzanne...?"

Enemy communications suddenly cut in, interrupting Lelouch's thoughts. His face darkened as he saw several enemy planes turning their guns towards Gawain high in the sky.

You guys are in my way!

The fairy knight observed the standoff with great interest, then suddenly leaned over Lancelot's communicator:

"Hey, junior~" The voice held a mischievous chuckle, "Your friends have arrived just in time."

Before Suzaku could answer, Gao Wen suddenly activated the radiation wave system, shooting down all the approaching enemy aircraft.

The explosion illuminated Lelouch's cold profile, while C.C. gazed thoughtfully in the direction of the Fairy Knight, a strange light flashing in her golden eyes.

The night wind, carrying the smoke of gunpowder, swept across the battlefield, and the two Lancelots and Gawain formed a strange triangular formation under the moonlight.

Meanwhile, in the command center in the distance, Euphemia nervously gripped the hem of her skirt, her long pink hair dancing like flames in the red alarm light.

"Now that your crisis is over, keep up the good work, junior—"

The fairy knight's voice still echoed in the night sky, but the lake-blue figure had already turned into starlight and disappeared.

"Huh?" Suzaku stared blankly at Lancelot's empty shoulder armor, a sense of inexplicable loss welling up in her heart.

Just then, a metallic clanging sound suddenly came from the side.

Suzaku turned his head sharply and saw that the golden Gawain was kneeling on one knee in front of him, the movement as elegant as a true knight bowing.

This sudden action nearly made Suzaku jump out of the driver's seat.

"Pivot wood."

Zero's voice came through the voice changer, calm yet with a deliberately maintained sense of distance.

Suzaku's breath hitched—this mysterious rebel leader, the enemy he had once sworn to arrest, had appeared here to save him.

"Can Lancelot still move?"

A complex emotion flickered in Suzaku's emerald eyes. Of course, he had no idea that beneath the mask was his best friend, Lelouch.

"So it really is Zero..." His voice lowered, sounding like a little dog drenched in rain, with a hint of grievance and wariness.

Inside Gawain's cockpit, CC yawned lazily: "What an awkward way to show concern~"

Her golden eyes glanced at the contractor beside her, "You could have just said I came to save you."

"Shut up," Lelouch hissed, though the tips of his ears beneath the mask were burning slightly.

He forced himself to turn his attention back to the battlefield. Gawain's mechanical arm slowly extended, and a blue-glowing energy box popped out from his palm.

"An energy box?!" Suzaku stared wide-eyed at the life-saving gift in disbelief.

These advanced energy modules, specially supplied by the military, are difficult even for special task forces to obtain. He didn't understand why the enemy would help him.

"I'm going to attack the enemy command post," Zero's voice remained calm. "How are you going to do that?"

The night wind, carrying the smoke of gunpowder, swirled between Lancelot and Gawain. Suzaku gazed at the mysterious leader of the resistance before him, his heart filled with complex emotions.

A resolute glint flashed in his emerald eyes, and a mischievous, boyish smile suddenly appeared on his lips.

"I'm sorry..." The voice coming from the channel carried a long-lost ease, but the action of taking the energy box was unusually solemn.

The moment the energy box was inserted into the interface, a dazzling azure light illuminated Lancelot's cockpit, and the system restart notification sounded like a victory horn.

"Your wish won't come true." Suzaku's voice carried an undisguised amusement as his fingers danced nimbly across the joystick. "Because I'm going to fight first!"

Before he finished speaking, Lancelot had already dashed off like an arrow.

The white aircraft traced a graceful arc under the moonlight, and the Varis rifle accurately shot down enemy planes along its path.

"This idiot!" Lelouch's expression behind his mask was both exasperated and amused.

He didn't expect Suzaku to pull this stunt, and he certainly didn't expect to feel so relieved by the other party's long-lost vitality.

CC chuckled softly from the side: "You've been outmaneuvered, Lord Zero~"

Gao Wen immediately activated the thrusters and gave chase. The two machines, one after the other, intertwined in a dazzling trail across the night sky.

Suzaku saw the golden machine catching up through the monitor, and his smile deepened.

"Don't even think about getting rid of me, White Reaper." Lelouch's voice came through the communicator, his tone carrying an intimacy that even he himself didn't realize.

"Then let's see who storms the headquarters first!" Suzaku's voice was filled with a long-lost fighting spirit.

The fairy knight hovered in the distant clouds, her lake-blue mask reflecting the chase. "Really..." Her voice held a gentle helplessness.

"Even though they don't know who the other person is, they can still be so in sync."

A gentle night breeze carried her whispers into the starlight.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Euphemia stood by the window of the command room, gazing at the two figures fighting side by side on the monitor screen, her eyes shining with hope.

Chapter 8 Euphemia and Suzaku are both good children

The night was as dark as ink, and under the moonlight, only the dilapidated outline of the Kyushu fortress remained.

The smell of steel and gunpowder had not yet dissipated, and the broken concrete and twisted steel bars made a faint groan in the cold wind.

Atsushi Sawazaki staggered through the ruins, his uniform soaked with sweat, and the communicator in his hand had long since lost signal.

"Quickly! Evacuate from the east side!" His personal guard captain whispered, his submachine gun scanning the surroundings warily.

However, all they received in response was the orderly footsteps of the Britannian army and the deep hum of the Knightmare's engines.

Sudden--

"Mr. Sawazaki."

A clear voice came from the darkness, like a pronouncement of judgment.

"Is this the end of it?"

Another voice followed, deep and languid, with a hint of mocking laughter.

Sawazaki suddenly looked up, his pupils contracting sharply.

The silver-white Lancelot emerged from the shadows, moonlight flowing over its armor, like a knight from mythology descending to earth.

Beside it, the black and gold Gawain stood quietly, his floating cannon system gleaming with a faint blue light, like a beast in the dark opening its eyes.

"Impossible..." Sawazaki's voice was dry, like sandpaper scraping, "Kyushu's most fortified fortress... fell in just one night..."

His gaze shifted between Lancelot and Gawain, finally settling on their cockpits.

These two Knightmare, representing the pinnacle of Britannia's technology, displayed near-perfect coordination under the control of Zero and the white knight.

Why would the Britannian army join forces with the Black Knights to attack this place?

Suzaku observed Sawazaki's expression through Lancelot's monitor, a complex emotion rising within him.

(This person... once vowed to liberate Japan, but now he can only flee in disarray.)

He glanced at Gao Wen subconsciously.

(Zero...)

They should have been enemies. But during tonight's battle, when Gawain's Druid system and Lancelot's levitation system worked together perfectly, Suzaku even had a strange feeling—as if they had been fighting side by side for years.

(Why... does his fighting style seem so familiar?)

"Suzaku, what are you daydreaming about?" Zero's deep voice came through the communicator. "If we don't act soon, Cornelia's forces will be here."

Suzaku snapped back to reality, manipulating Lancelot to raise the Mvs slashing sword: "Commander Sawazaki, surrender. Continuing to resist will only result in more unnecessary sacrifices."

A sinister glint flashed across Sawazaki's face: "You Britannian lackeys!"

He suddenly pulled a pistol from his pocket, but before he could pull the trigger, Gawain's Slash Harken had already accurately knocked the weapon away.

"How pathetic," Zero's voice came through the loudspeaker, tinged with sarcasm. "A hero who claimed to liberate Japan, ending up escaping by taking hostages?"

Suzaku did not respond, but silently watched Sawazaki and his group being escorted away.

Not far away, Cornelia's adjutant was tallying up the spoils of war and directing the prisoners to be loaded onto special transport vehicles.

This glorious achievement will undoubtedly belong entirely to Cornelia, the empire's sharpest spear and the iron-blooded princess.

But there was no trace of disappointment or jealousy on Zhuque's face, only a relieved and pure smile.

He never pursued fame or glory; fulfilling his duty, protecting lives, and keeping his promises—all that he truly valued—was accomplished in this battle.

His keen eyes spotted that the black and gold Gawain had not left, but remained like a shadow in the distance.

Suzaku took a deep breath and opened the external communication interface, speaking to the enormous figure hidden in the shadows:

"Zero! I'll pretend I didn't see you this time. Go on your way! If we meet again..."
