Lisette could tell that Venus was in a state of impulsiveness and speaking without thinking, but she wasn't the type to pretend nothing was wrong when provoked.
"The Demon Academy's target is to run ten laps. I'm still half a lap short. How about you?"
Lisette looked at Vina with a pitying expression and asked.
"The Alchemy Institute's requirement for the number of laps shouldn't be more than that of the Demon Academy, right?" Venus felt a chill run down her spine.
“But are you?” Lisette sneered.
"..."
It was then that Viner remembered that she was, in principle, a student at the Fighting Academy.
So Felix should have finished long ago, why is he still running? Is he enjoying the pleasure of lapping?
Wiener doesn't know how she got through the rest of the time.
Students who complete the training targets within the time limit will receive a reward of five credits. Students who attend morning exercises but fail to complete the targets will not receive a reward, but they will also not be punished.
At least Wiener did not lose any credits for morning exercises.
Despite feeling unwell, I returned to my dorm and changed into the casual clothes I was supposed to wear to class. I arrived at the classroom for the first class early, found a seat, and lay down on the desk to rest.
There was originally time allotted for breakfast between morning exercises and the first class, but Wiener, whose stomach was churning, had absolutely no appetite.
He used the time he squeezed out to catch his breath, and someone would naturally wake him up when class started.
Ten minutes before class started, Lisette walked into the classroom carrying a lunchbox.
Her gaze quickly swept around the classroom, and she soon locked onto a figure slumped over a desk, so she went over to him.
He patted Wiener on the back and placed the lunchbox on Wiener's table.
"Don't rush off after school, I have something to tell you."
After saying that, he walked towards the front row of the classroom.
Although the courses for the first three months of freshmen are open classes, they also have a specific focus.
For example, this magic theory course is taught by professors from the Magic Academy, and the front row is naturally reserved for students from the Magic Academy.
The same applies to the courses in the other two colleges.
"You didn't take your lunchbox." After opening her eyes, Venus saw the lunchbox and immediately reminded Lisette.
“I called it for you,” Lisette replied casually.
Wiener opened the lunchbox; the rice porridge inside was still warm and emitted a faint aroma.
A spoon was thoughtfully included on the back of the box lid.
Ten minutes is enough time to finish this bowl of rice porridge.
"Hey, Vena. Are you close to that Lisette?"
Felix, sitting in the back seat, nudged Viner in the back and asked in a low voice.
"I want you to manage."
Wiener picked up a spoon and began to drink the porridge.
The grudges from morning exercises are not so easily forgotten.
Even after finishing this bowl of porridge, I'll still need to remember for another ten minutes.
......
"At their core, magic and battle aura both originate from the magical elements contained within the body. They are essentially the same, but their operating modes are vastly different, resulting in drastically different effects."
"The so-called battle qi is to continuously compress and refine the demonic essence in the body, just like a blacksmith forging metal to temper the flesh."
"And magic is the power that cleverly utilizes this magical element, like using a brick to attract jade, drawing in the free magical element in the atmosphere to form a force."
"Therefore, the class division of warriors depends on the toughness of their bodies and the degree of refinement of their fighting spirit; while the class of mages is defined by their spiritual strength and the amount of magical power they can draw upon."
"The existence of the emblem is like a key, which can significantly increase the host's body's storage capacity for magic elements, thereby giving the emblem user greater power. This is why emblem users are stronger than ordinary people."
As the first class of the semester, the academy attached great importance to it. Professor Hanneman, the dean of the Magic Academy, personally stood in front of the stage to give the lecture, and in just a few words, he pointed out the commonalities between magic and battle aura.
"Professor, what about Warcraft?" a student immediately asked from the audience.
“Good question, but—” Hannemann nodded slightly, then changed the subject, “Ewan, deduct five points.”
"Remember to raise your hand before asking a question next time."
This lucky guy paid the price for disrupting classroom discipline right from the start.
“That’s exactly what we’re going to talk about next,” Professor Hannemann continued to explain.
"The physique of magical beasts is completely different from that of humans. Their body structure is more conducive to storing magical essence, so their bodies are also more resilient."
"The size of a magical beast is directly proportional to the amount of magic energy it stores. The larger the beast, the more magic energy it stores, and the more dangerous it becomes."
"High-level magical beasts can form a solid magical barrier on their body surface simply by releasing their own magical essence. As long as this barrier cannot be broken, conventional means of attack will be greatly reduced."
"As for how to break through the magic barrier, this question will be discussed in more detail in later lessons."
"bell--"
The bell seemed to ring out in sync with Professor Hannemann's voice.
Without any intention of extending the class, Professor Hannemann left the classroom, leaving a large room full of freshmen to digest the information.
The next lesson is military theory, taught by Mr. Slav, the acting director of the Combat Academy.
This burly man, standing two meters tall, stood on the podium like a majestic mountain.
The originally loose-fitting suit was stretched to the point of looking like a tight-fitting garment by his muscular physique.
However, no one dared to show the slightest disrespect or ridicule.
"In this lesson, we will discuss the relationships of mutual restraint between weapons and types of troops." Slav's deep voice echoed in the classroom.
Anyone who sees him for the first time would not doubt that he is a powerful warrior.
When he picks up a book and stands in front of the podium, it creates a stark contrast.
If the only goal is individual combat prowess, then it shouldn't be called an officer academy; it should be renamed a warrior academy or a mage academy.
The proportion of military theory in students' grades is much larger than it appears.
"Before I begin my lecture, I have a question for you all."
"What kind of weapon do you think will dominate the battlefield in large-scale operations?"

Chapter 23 Ugly People Should Read More
Having learned from the previous lesson, the classroom fell silent, and no one dared to be the first to speak.
"Don't worry, I'm not as strict as your Professor Hannemann, and I don't have as many rules."
“You may speak freely,” Mr. Slav said.
With this assurance, some of the bolder students immediately began to answer.
"I think it's the gun! The Fargas Blue Lion Cavalry is invincible, and their main weapon is the lance!"
"Let's wait until they can defeat the Imperial Overlords in a head-on battle. The Battle Axe is definitely invincible in foot combat."
"It doesn't feel as good as the Demonic Cult."
"Isn't it a sword? Throughout history, the most common weapon used by heroes is the sword, which shows that the sword is clearly superior to other weapons."
The consequence of speaking freely is that the topic gets increasingly off-topic, escalating from battlefield dominance to individual invincibility.
This is understandable, as the examples cited are mostly of their own skillful use of weapons; no one wants to use weapons that are inferior to others.
Faced with these answers, Mr. Slav neither agreed nor disagreed, and watched with amusement as the new students discussed.
The debate intensified.
"I think the magic cannon is the strongest strategic weapon; everything else is garbage."
An inappropriate voice sounded.
Comparing the magic cannon to these conventional weapons seems like arguing for the sake of arguing.
"Minus 10 points for the part about the magic cannon."
Mr. Slav immediately carried out the justice.
It's not that the magic cannon is weak. If it could be optimized to the point where it could be disassembled and moved at will without affecting its power and charging speed, then he would admit that the magic cannon is the strongest battlefield weapon.
The high maintenance costs and immobile nature of this device limit its use to the capital city walls of the three major nations, serving as a final defensive weapon.
A single magic cannon is often less useful in actual combat than a magic squad, but its cost is equivalent to that of a magic company.
This incident gradually calmed the discussion, and everyone waited for Mr. Slav to reveal the answer.
The Slavs, however, were not in a hurry at all.
"Next, I'll call on a student to answer."
He glanced at the student roster with feigned seriousness, but actually read out the names he had already chosen.
"Vina, you answer."
Slav had long been curious about the student whom Jessica had specifically requested to transfer to the Fighting Academy.
He already knew the results of the morning exercise test.
His combined strength, speed, and stamina are still somewhat lacking compared to ordinary second-tier warriors. However, he's passable by the average standards of the Alchemy Institute, and his ability to wake up early alone puts him ahead of most people.
But that's far from enough for the Fighting Academy.
For a first-tier warrior, even if they're not counting from the bottom, it's still faster to count from the back to the front.
Such a performance is unlikely to satisfy the Slavs.
"Excluding the influence of extreme weather, I believe it is the bow and arrow, Mr. Slav."
Wiener was unaware that he had been specifically called out; he simply stated his opinion frankly.
"And the reason?" Slav continued to ask.
"Mobility and range."
Born a blacksmith, Wiener naturally had no prejudice against different types of weapons.
Therefore, when faced with questions from Slavs, one can set aside subjective opinions and address the issues objectively.
"A well-organized archer phalanx can easily suppress unarmored units at medium to long range, and can even significantly hinder elite troops."
"With the magic forces short-handed, archer units are the only effective means to limit flying units."
"Have you received any prior education?" Slav's face remained calm.
“No, sir. Before enrolling in St. Freya Academy, I was just a blacksmith from a small village,” Vena explained.
"Does anyone else have any objections to Wiener's answer?" Slav continued to inquire.
"Yes!" Huo Lin, a freshman at the Fighting Academy, stood up without hesitation and questioned Viner's point of view.
"How should archer units deal with fully armored heavy infantry or heavy cavalry regiments?"
"This is indeed the worst opponent for archer units, but it is not a hopeless situation."
Wiener was not stumped by the question and answered calmly.
"When the enemy advances, I retreat; when the enemy camps, I harass; when the enemy tires, I attack; when the enemy retreats, I pursue."
"Heavy armored units trade mobility for survivability and the ability to attack fortified positions, and can only be most effective when they cooperate with other branches of the armed forces."
“The scattered archer units are enough to drag them into a quagmire.”
"As for the heavy cavalry, let the horse archers handle that."
Wiener's answer was resounding.
Intelligent people have already begun to ponder the sixteen-character mantra that Wiener just proposed.
