"I do not want!"
The two spoke in unison, without hesitation.
Now it was Lian Ye's turn to be dumbfounded.
what's the situation?
Danzo and Hiruzen were unwilling to become Hokage?
Was he really not under a spell?
Especially Shimura Danzo, didn't that guy always dream of becoming Hokage?
The position is right in front of him, and he actually says he doesn't want it?
If the character from the original work knew this, he would be furious.
Something's not right, absolutely not right!
"You don't want to?" Lian Ye looked puzzled. "Isn't being the Hokage a good thing?"
The reason he didn't want to become Hokage was ultimately because he was too lazy and found it troublesome.
But what's the deal with these two?
The position of Hokage is a high and powerful one that many people dream of, but they refuse it even when it's offered to them.
"not good."
The two of them looked at him as if he were an idiot.
He worked diligently as the Hokage's assistant for three years, busy from morning till night every day, without even having time for a cup of hot tea.
And what about Renye?
He spends all day sunbathing and neglects his duties, never even glancing at the documents.
Over the past three years, they have become virtually indistinguishable from the real Hokage, having long since lost the mystique surrounding the position.
Power and status are all meaningless.
The only real issue is that there are always more documents to approve each day.
How could I possibly be so foolish as to jump into this fire pit now?
Lian Ye was completely speechless.
He never imagined that the two of them would be unwilling to become Hokage.
He had been worried that the two of them would fight tooth and nail for the Hokage position, and he didn't know who to let take the position, which gave him a headache for quite a while.
But now, things have taken a turn for the worse; neither of them is willing to do it, and things have completely exceeded his expectations.
"Isn't becoming Hokage your childhood dream?"
Lianye decided to change her approach and began to persuade them.
"I remember you guys said you wanted to become Hokage when you were in the Ninja Academy. Hiruzen even wrote an essay titled 'My Future Path to Hokage'."
Danzo, even though you haven't written any essays, you're always very enthusiastic when this topic comes up.
This has been your dream since you were little, and now that the opportunity is right in front of you, how can you give it up?
As we all know, most graduates of the Ninja Academy have been brainwashed by the Will of Fire to some extent, and the goal of the vast majority of them is to become Hokage in the future.
Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura were no exception.
Lian Ye felt that with her silver tongue, she could completely make the two of them realize the importance of the Will of Fire.
At that time, they will all be vying to become Hokage, and he can then retire and enjoy his old age in a perfectly legitimate manner.
Fantasy and reality are always different.
No matter how eloquently Lianye spoke, from the Will of Fire to the future of the village, from personal responsibility to historical mission, the two remained unresponsive.
It's impossible for me to become Hokage. I'll never become Hokage in my lifetime.
Suffering for three years is bad enough; I can't let the rest of my life be ruined by it.
"Think about it again, the position of Hokage is so glorious. Everyone in the village respects the Hokage, and people greet him wherever he goes..."
Lianye is still working hard.
The two remained silent, their eyes filled with disdain.
Do they look stupid?
Lian Ye: "..."
Seeing that the two were completely unresponsive, he was truly at his wit's end.
He glanced at Danzo, then at Hiruzen; both men had resolute expressions, as if to say, "I'd rather die than do it."
If neither of you wants to be Hokage, how am I supposed to retire and go home to sunbathe?
Lianye leaned back in her chair, staring blankly at the ceiling.
He shouldn't have become Hokage in the first place.
If he doesn't become Hokage, he won't hire an assistant; if he doesn't hire an assistant, he won't exhaust the two of them to the point of psychological trauma; if they don't suffer psychological trauma, they won't completely give up on the position of Hokage.
After going around in circles, I ended up getting myself into trouble.
It's all that old bastard Tobirama Senju's fault!
"How about," Lian Ye tentatively suggested, "you reconsider?"
"Not considering it."
The two spoke in unison, then lowered their heads to continue reviewing documents, not even glancing at him.
Lianye sighed and lay back down on the chair on the balcony.
The sunlight shone on his face, warm and comforting, but his heart was ice-cold.
My early retirement plan seems to have fallen through.
This book is finished.
Chapter 60: The Author's Ramblings
I really can't write any side stories, please.
I can't even continue making this up.
It's not that I can't continue writing, it's just that I don't want to follow the plot of the main story anymore.
But writing new plots is very troublesome.
Rather than doing that, it's better not to write it at all. I didn't write any side stories in my last book (although I promised to, I later decided it would be better to write a new book, which is this one).
I definitely won't be writing any side stories in my next book, sob sob.
Let me tell you about my initial writing process for this book.
After finishing my last book, I came up with two themes.
One book is about the interactions between the Land of Rain and the Three Sages, and the other is about the interactions between the protagonist, Hashirama, and Madara during the Warring States period.
But then I suddenly came up with the idea of becoming Tobirama's adopted son.
The protagonist's Uchiha identity will definitely have some appeal and market potential.
After deciding on the subject matter, I started writing the outline.
The original outline was that the protagonist was adopted by Tobirama, but Tobirama distanced himself from him because of the protagonist's status.
It wasn't until the protagonist demonstrated his talent at school that Tobirama recognized his abilities and began to guide his training.
As for cooking, it was to bring the two of them closer.
Of course, the specific cooking steps were just filler material the author wanted to include.
This resulted in a lot of cooking scenes in the early episodes.
Later, readers said it was too superficial, so I omitted the specific cooking steps.
Danzo initially intended to portray him as a villain.
That is, the two had a conflict when the protagonist first entered the school.
But then I realized it wasn't necessary.
Since they were classmates, there was no need for things to get so tense, so they were put in the same ninja squad.
After working side by side for several years, we gradually developed a bond.
As for Tobirama Senju, I originally planned to kill him off, as did Hashirama Senju.
But if I die, it seems like there's no plot left.
Original plot:
Renya and Tobirama Senju gradually develop feelings for each other as they spend time together.
After the First Shinobi World War ended, the protagonist warned Tobirama Senju that going to Kumogakure was dangerous and asked to go with him to prevent him from being killed by Kinkaku and Ginkaku as in the original story.
When Tobirama Senju learned of the news, he did not question its veracity.
Knowing that the journey was fraught with danger, he naturally wouldn't let Lian Ye and his disciples take any risks.
Peace talks are a must.
He didn't let Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others come along; before setting off, he knocked Renya unconscious.
When Renya woke up, Tobirama Senju had already arrived at Kumogakure.
So they immediately went to Kumogakure, only to find Tobirama's corpse.
Just like in the original work, Tobirama Senju died.
The protagonist thus awakens the Mangekyou Sharingan.
During the Second Shinobi World War, Renya displayed overwhelming power.
Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura were wary of his strength, and he also had the support of the Uchiha clan (the protagonist did not break with the Uchiha, but instead returned to the clan after Tobirama's death).
The two planned to join forces with other ninja villages to eliminate him.
The other ninja villages naturally wouldn't let this opportunity pass. Renya activated her eyes with all her might, nearly losing her sight in the process, and killed all the Kage.
Madara Uchiha observed the protagonist's actions.
Pai Bai used his ultimate move to woo Lian Ye.
Madara Uchiha transplanted Hashirama cells into the protagonist to prevent him from going blind. (Being an Uchiha without a system makes it very difficult to obtain the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.)
Renya knew that it was Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura who caused him to be ambushed.
They grew up together, but neither of them ever trusted him.
So, after recovering from his injuries, he returned to the village to seek revenge on Hiruzen and Danzo, who were obsessed with power. (Long-time readers will know that the original synopsis was that the protagonist activated Susanoo and then pointed his sword at Hiruzen Sarutobi.)
Instead of killing them, he imprisoned them.
Let them see how I led the Uchiha clan to govern the village and defeat other countries.
That's roughly the whole thing.
Chapter 100: Tobirama Senju dies; Chapter 200: He is stabbed by his comrade; Chapter 300: The Hidden Leaf Village is destroyed within the next three chapters.
He pretended to agree to Madara Uchiha's "Eye of the Moon" plan, and after tricking Madara into giving him the Rinnegan, he forgot his roots.
He used Earth Explosion Star to seal Black Zetsu.
I'll make it a bit more padded out, and I plan to finish it at one million words, just like my previous book.
As a result, the writing went off-topic. (Mainly because readers like to read it.)
Hashirama Senju wasn't killed off, nor was Tobirama Senju, and Madara Uchiha was even redeemed.
Actually, this is not bad either.
The only downside is that it's too mundane.
There are only two Shinobi World Wars with battle scenes; there aren't many other battle scenes.
