Warhammer 40: My Fiancée Fulgrim

He was not a member of the Council of Four Kings.
At least not yet.
"Oh?"
Horus was quite surprised to see this.
In his memory, the taciturn company commander rarely seemed to disagree with him, not to mention that a commander like Casgar, who was obviously inexperienced in combat, could not possibly be good at fighting.
"Fourth Company Commander, are you suggesting that perhaps Casca has participated in commanding battles on the home planet, so maybe he really can command battles?"
“No, Seyanus. True interplanetary warfare will be far more perilous than the battles fought on our home planet.”
"When I was a bad boy on the planet Kosonia, my understanding of fighting was that it was a brawl between two gangs."
Horus smiled, as if reminiscing about the past: "Back then, whoever had the bigger gun and the more numerous and fierce men would win."
But war, especially interstellar war, is a completely different concept.
It needs to be tempered by blood and fire.
They were tempered repeatedly in endless battles and gained experience amidst the roar of cannons.
There has never been a War Master in this world who could achieve mastery overnight.
He added a pun at the end, subtly showcasing his sense of humor.
"Lord Horus, you are right."
Cyranus nodded in agreement.
"But I still believe that Casca is more unfathomable than we expected."
“Interesting, Cyranus. How did you come to this conclusion?”
"A premonition."
He nodded slightly.
"This is it."
"All members of the auxiliary forces, along with the first and second companies of the Emperor's Sons, will follow me aboard the Stormbird to Silent Star to explore the surface geology and construct defensive fortifications."
Looking out the window at the planet shrouded in layers of poisonous clouds, Casgar gave the order.
The stargate they guarded was located at the pole of a planet called the Silent Star.
Silent Star is a planet composed of fragmented crystal deposits, its surface covered by an extremely thick layer of acidic toxic fog.
With such a harsh environment and a scarcity of mineral resources, this planet was deemed an uninhabitable and worthless planet when the expeditionary fleet arrived.
Apart from the technical priests who are constantly studying the mechanical structure of the portal at the extreme point, no human or biological beings will ever visit this place.
However, Casgar insisted on designing a total of three layers of defenses, both inner and outer, based on the highest enemy attack standards within the Legion.
Who are you guarding against?
"The planet's surface geology consists of extremely hard crystals."
"In addition, the large amount of toxic gases in the atmosphere will greatly increase the difficulty of constructing our defensive fortifications."
"Furthermore, we lack the need to build large-scale defensive facilities. If we forcibly order construction to begin, many Terran veterans are likely to become dissatisfied."
"Many veterans have already told me that they hope the level of the defense facilities can be reduced and that only light defensive barriers can be built."
Sol Tavetz suggested this to the new recruits of the Casgar Tactical Squad, who were also junior disciples of the Sword Saint Aqua.
"Sergeant Tavitz, your suggestion makes sense."
He nodded in agreement.
The biggest problem facing Casca right now lies with these proud Terran veterans of the Third Army.
In the early stages of the Great Crusade, the Third Legion's recruits were all from ancient noble families on Terra.
While this ensures the quality of recruits to a certain extent, it also brings great management difficulties.
This Terra's father, that's a father.
It was one thing for the Primarch of Fugrim to personally take command, but these battle-hardened veterans could not tolerate a newcomer like Kasgar, who had little prestige, commanding the battle.
Not to mention he was a country bumpkin like Chemos.
His orders are likely to be met with indifference and disobedience, which is probably a foregone conclusion.
"But I have my own way of dealing with this."
Kaska smiled and reassured him.
"What's that kid up to now?"
The Emperor's Son, Company Commander Julius Castoron, scoffed at Castor's orders.
As one of the Sons of the Emperor, and one of the two hundred surviving Sons of the Emperor veterans, he was not unskilled at building fortifications.
In other words, each son of the Emperor can change his tactical style according to the needs of the battlefield.
From a master of close combat to a perfect designer of fortifications, and an expert in saturating long-range artillery fire, the Son of the Emperor can accomplish anything on command.
But this is on the premise that the order comes from a legitimate commander!
“Those mechanical priests all said that no living being has passed through this portal for countless years!”
"Why does this armchair strategist insist on spending huge resources to build a top-of-the-line heavy fortress?"
The probability of encountering an alien here is even smaller than that of a war commander betraying the emperor!
The fact that Casgar forced the Third Army to stay in the rear, preventing him from fighting on the front lines, was enough to infuriate him.
What's even more infuriating is that he has to be in the back dust!
The dust was unnecessary!
Even if you put in a lot of effort to build it, there will be no credit or reward!
Kasoron was very angry.
He's become tough both inside and out.
"Company Commander, should we follow Lord Casca's orders or not?"
The veterans beside him looked at each other in bewilderment.
Those who could join the company were all elite Terran veterans who had been through countless battles.
They were more inclined to trust Company Commander Kassoron's orders than the inexperienced Casca.
Although he was just a sword fanatic who didn't know how to command, he was still more trustworthy than Casca, who was just a crony.
"Let's build the basic fortifications and outposts."
"It's our misfortune to have such a big-shot, talentless person like him."
Kasoron pouted in dissatisfaction.
"Exactly! It makes me so angry. I get so cravings every time I see his sword."
"Why should a newbie get to use such a good power sword?!"
"Sigh, there's nothing we can do, this is just the fate of us poor people."
Every time I see this guy, even as a new recruit, wearing such exquisite weapons and armor.
I'm so envious!
Although everyone here is a nobleman.
But it seems that some nobles are even more noble than others.
"The company commander seems somewhat dissatisfied with your orders."
Sword Saint Aqua Duna stood beside Kaska, observing the varying progress of the construction below.
As Fugan's eldest daughter, she served as Casca's bodyguard and protector during this operation.
Of course, you could also choose a better-sounding name that fits the Warhammer style—"Champion of Kasgar."
"Should I step in and remind them?"
Aqua narrowed her eyes slightly.
Company Commander Kasoron was also one of her students.
Now that he's so arrogant and disobedient, perhaps it's time to teach him a lesson.
"Need not."
"He'll realize his mistake once the alien army actually breaks through the portal and launches its bombing campaign."
"Are you so confident that there will definitely be an alien invasion?"
Aqua was somewhat surprised.
Where does this confidence come from?
That's because I've read the script, of course.
Haha, what else?
"Because I am the son of an emperor."
"Even the slightest possibility of failure must be eliminated meticulously in order to achieve perfection."
"Do not be arrogant because you consider yourself noble, nor be complacent because you are certain of victory."
"This is the virtue that a son of an emperor should possess."
Casca has a thick skin.
He said this with righteous indignation.
Chapter 36 Don't underestimate an old soldier's poverty!
“Well said. The son of an emperor should indeed be hands-on in everything, no matter how small.”
"But why do I get the feeling that you're hiding something?"
Aqua's swordsman's keen intuition often proved extremely useful.
His sharp gaze fixed on Casca, making him afraid to even breathe.
But gradually, her expression softened.
"But no matter what, I still want to trust your judgment."
"Thank you."
Casca replied with a smile.
"call"
"This is truly... torturous."
The crystals on the surface of the Silent Star are extremely hard.
Even if the Mechanicus's large machines arrived, it would still take a considerable amount of time to build defensive fortifications.
In addition, the large amount of toxic gases on the ground prevented their power armor's airtight system from being opened for ventilation.
Although it has internal air purification functions, it still feels somewhat dull under the heavy construction work.
It's difficult to breathe fresh air.
"Damn it! Why build useless fortifications here!"
"I must go into battle and kill the enemy, the enemy who will slay my father!"
The elite First Company was increasingly resentful of Casca.
They are all noble sons of emperors!
Their mission is to "slay the enemy of their father".
Instead of scattering the father's ashes!
They are the Emperor's sharpest blades, and also the most magnificent and artistic Astartes (another name for Space Marines)!
