He hummed along from time to time, looking exceptionally at ease.
But a phone call shattered this sense of ease.
Looking at the caller ID, Vodka had absolutely no desire to answer.
There were two people in the organization he least wanted to deal with: one was that lunatic Koniak, and the other was that cunning guy Vermouth.
But it just wouldn't work if I didn't answer their calls.
He sighed dejectedly, turned off the music, and answered the phone.
"Hey?"
"What are you doing, Vodka?"
The woman's voice on the other end of the phone was unreadable; it sounded like she was just making a casual call.
“I’m driving,” Vodka replied with unusual honesty.
"Where's Gin? He wasn't with you?"
Vodka was speechless; he knew that every time this woman called, it was to ask about his older brother.
"Big brother has something to do."
Are you investigating Kogoro Mouri?
Vodka frowned.
How did this woman know?
However, Vermouth is having an affair with Kogoro Mouri, so it's best not to mess with her.
He denied it:
"No."
"Then why have you been hanging around the Mouri Detective Agency lately?"
A sense of oppression washed over him over the phone, and a bead of cold sweat trickled down Vodka's forehead.
How did this woman know he had been near the Mouri Detective Agency lately?
Bourbon told her?
He must have been hiding it pretty well, right? He didn't even meet Bourbon.
Or was she keeping an eye on that side all along?
Even if Kogoro Mouri is having an affair with you, you don't need to care about him so much, right?
Vodka simply couldn't understand what Vermouth had taken a liking to about that detective. Was she being a little too concerned?
"His daughter is my student."
A warning voice came through the phone.
Vodka's brain went blank.
Ran Mouri, what's wrong with you?
It's one thing to date Koniak, but how did you end up becoming Vermouth's student?!
Thinking back to those overly clear and pure eyes...
Well, it's not that I can't understand it.
"Are you aware that your students are dating?"
He asked tentatively.
The voice on the other end of the phone suddenly became shrill—
"What did you say?"
Chapter 108 That damned Koniak!
Hearing the almost distorted voice on the other end, Vodka understood.
Vermouth was unaware of Ran Mouri's affair with Koniak.
If I don't know, then I can't say.
Koniak's punches can be deadly.
"It's nothing, just kidding."
Vermouth gripped the steering wheel tightly, her expression terrifyingly grim.
Her angel isn't dating Shinichi Kudo. If it's not Shinichi Kudo... then who is her love interest, or rather, her rumored boyfriend?
Is it the person she mentioned that wanted to give a gift that day?
"Who is she dating? What do you know about her?!"
Her tone was aggressive, as if she wouldn't give up until she got to the bottom of things.
"Why are you so agitated? I was just joking. I don't know anything about your students."
Vodka hadn't expected Vermouth to be so interested in Ran Mouri; he'd only mentioned her once, yet she was so excited.
What, are you acting like a mother? Why are you so concerned about whether other people are dating?
The voice on the phone grew increasingly dangerous, filled with a gritted-teeth tone.
"Is it Gin? You'd better tell me the truth."
Upon hearing this outrageous statement, Vodka fell into an eerie silence.
How can he still be associated with his older brother?
Is his older brother the kind of person who would seduce high school girls?
Although I know that Vermouth is after my older brother, is it a bit obsessive to drag him into this?
He said "No" and then slammed the phone down.
The phone call ended, and a sense of comfort finally returned to the air.
He felt relieved, but someone else was extremely unhappy.
Vermouth gripped the steering wheel tightly, her jaw clenched, her expression terrifyingly sinister.
Koniak!
It's definitely Koniak!
What a coincidence! Koniak is suspected of being in a relationship, and so is Xiaolan.
This connection helped answer many questions.
Gin abandoned his plan against Kogoro Mouri because of Koniak.
Her teeth were clenched so hard they were clicking.
That damned Koniak, using his good looks to lure naive young girls!
Her angel—how could he possibly lay a finger on her?
A call was made to Koniak, but the call was disconnected. She continued to dial.
Finally, after a barrage of calls, the call was answered.
"doing what?"
"Who are you dating?" Vermouth ground her back teeth, her grip on the steering wheel making a clicking sound.
Qingze raised an eyebrow, a playful smile curving his lips.
"Gin."
boom!
Vermouth slammed her fist on the steering wheel, and the car horn blared sharply.
"I'm asking you seriously!"
Qingze heard the voice coming from the other end of the phone. His eyes narrowed slightly, and his tone was flippant.
"I'm answering you seriously."
Vermouth sneered, "That dress you bought is for Gin, isn't it?"
Qingze raised his eyebrows.
skirt?
You little devil, Ran Mouri! You actually bought a dress and didn't tell me!
"Why not?" Qingze retorted.
"I'll call Gin right now and ask him if he's wearing that dress!"
"Go ahead and hit him, see if he even responds." Qingze was unusually indifferent.
This is a real piece of meat!
Vermouth was furious.
That damned Koniak!
Shameless and impervious to reason!
This kind of person actually set his sights on her angel!
"I'm warning you, don't use your looks to seduce young girls!"
"What do you mean by 'lure young girls'? I don't understand."
Qingze, with the phone on speakerphone, enjoyed watching Vermouth's anger and found it amusing.
Are you that concerned about Ran Mouri?
How did she find out? From vodka?
“My private life is none of your business, and I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
After saying that, Qingze hung up the phone and dialed Vodka's number.
Upon seeing the caller ID, Vodka knew something was wrong.
Is today some kind of unlucky day? Why is everyone coming to cause him trouble?
But he didn't dare hang up directly and could only bite the bullet and answer the call.
"Did you tell Vermouth that I was in a relationship?"
Qingze's light tone came from the other end of the phone, not sounding angry, but there was an inexplicable calm before the storm in the vodka.
"No, she suddenly asked me, and I didn't tell her..."
Vodka's unusual mental exhaustion.
He couldn't figure out whether Vermouth cared about his older brother or Ran Mouri.
One second he's guessing it's his older brother, the next he's calling Koniak.
I should have never said that.
Now you've offended two people at once.
"What did she ask? How did she ask it?"
Vodka repeated their conversation verbatim.
This really isn't his fault; he just asked a question, so you can't blame him.
Qingze seemed to be deep in thought.
Did Vermouth take Ran Mouri as her student?
When did this happen?
However, it's not necessarily a bad thing.
