Chapter Thirty-Two: Water and Fire Are Incompatible

Baratine!

The violin played melodiously, and the customers raised their glasses to drink, thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Rumble!

Suddenly, a loud booming sound came from outside.

Immediately afterwards, the entire Baratie began to shake violently.

“Ahh?!”

"what happens?"

"Is it an earthquake?"

Panic immediately gripped the restaurant, with customers whispering amongst themselves.

At that moment, a man in a suit, with blond hair and curly eyebrows, was serving food to a customer. Hearing this commotion, he couldn't help but feel a little startled and asked in confusion.

"Was that... a cannonball? That's way too exaggerated!"

"Hey! Sanji, go check the situation. Don't let those bastards cause trouble near my restaurant."

Suddenly, an old man with a braided beard poked out of the kitchen doorway and roared at Sanji.

Upon hearing this, Sanji put down his plate, opened the restaurant door, and came out.

Just then, he saw a pirate ship with a goat-shaped prow docked near their restaurant.

Then, in the next moment, a man wearing a straw hat suddenly stretched out his arm and sprang off the boat.

"Devil fruit?"

Sanji was taken aback; Devil Fruit users were truly rare in the East Blue.

"Was that noise you made just now?"

Sanji looked at the man wearing a straw hat who flew to his side and asked, while in the distance, there were still burning ship wrecks on the sea.

I really don't know how these guys managed to cause such a commotion.

Luffy didn't deny it and nodded.

"Yes! It's us."

Sanji didn't seem to mind what Sanji said, but he did offer a reminder.

"I don't care what trouble you cause outside, but you'd better not cause trouble for me in this restaurant, or I won't let you off the hook."

Luffy smiled, thinking to himself that Sanji's affection for this restaurant was truly deep.

Asked.

Are you the chef at this restaurant?

Sanji lit a cigarette, took a puff, and said.

"I'm the sous chef at this restaurant. You can just call me Sanji."

"I'm Luffy."

After introducing himself, Luffy continued.

"We need a cook on board, and I'd like to invite you to join us."

Sanji looked at Luffy with a puzzled expression. Did he just invite someone out so casually?

However, he remained a gentleman and said politely.

"Sorry, I'm not interested in being a pirate."

Just then, the others also logged in.

When Sanji saw Uta and Nami, his eyes immediately turned into hearts, and he was about to rush over.

"Ah...beautiful..."

boom!

With one punch, Luffy knocked Sanji to the ground.

"Hiss..."

Sanji painfully touched his left cheek where Luffy had hit him, got up from the ground, and roared.

"What are you doing, you bastard? Want to fight?"

Sanji made a gesture as if he was about to fight.

"Oh? Captain, does this lecherous cook want to fight? Let me handle it!"

Zoro suddenly rushed forward and stood in front of Sanji.

"What did you call me? You green algae head."

Sanji was furious and glared angrily at Zoro.

Hearing himself called "moss head," Zoro became enraged and placed his hand on his sword.

"What?! You want to fight? You bastard!"

Seeing the two of them baring their teeth and refusing to give in, Luffy reached out and forcibly separated them.

These two are truly irreconcilable; they'll fight the moment they meet.

After separating the two, Luffy looked at Sanji seriously and said...

"Don't you dare act so rudely towards my crew!"

He didn't want to see Sanji constantly acting like a lecherous man towards Uta and the others, so he had to correct this habit in Sanji.

At least we can't do that to the people on his ship.

Then he looked at Zoro.

"This guy is the chef I hired; he'll be our partner from now on."

Upon hearing this, Zoro immediately withdrew his hand from his sword and gave Sanji a disdainful "tsk".

Sanji ignored Zoro and looked at Luffy instead.

"Hey! You bastard, I didn't agree to join you guys, did I?"

Luffy smiled.

"You'll join."

“I can see that your ambitions don’t lie here at all.”

"Shouldn't you have some grander ambitions?"

Sanji was stunned by Luffy's words; he didn't understand how Luffy had figured it out.

But he answered truthfully nonetheless.

"I have reasons why I must stay here. You should find someone else!"

Luffy knows that Sanji stayed here because of Zeff.

Because when he was very young, Zhefu lost a leg while saving him.

So he always thought about repaying Zhefu.

His way of repaying the debt was to stay here and protect the restaurant that Zhefu ran.

Luffy didn't say anything more to Sanji, but instead led the others towards the restaurant.

"Sanji, what are some of your signature dishes? Could you recommend some?"

Sanji stubbed out his cigarette and followed Luffy inside.

...

While Sanji was introducing the dishes to everyone, Luffy went to the restaurant's kitchen alone.

To persuade Sanji, we need to start with Zeff.

As soon as Luffy pushed open the kitchen door, he heard a furious roar.

"Hey you, who let you in? Get out right now, this isn't a place for guests."

Paddy, who looks like a gorilla, yells at Luffy and raises his thick arm, trying to grab Luffy and drive him away.

Luffy simply waved his hand, and Paddy's body spun uncontrollably a few times before crashing into the wall and falling to the ground.

Zhefu frowned upon seeing this.

Is this kid in the straw hat here to cause trouble?

His strength appears to be far superior to theirs.

Just as Zeff was thinking about how to handle this trouble, he saw Luffy apologizing to Paddy.

"Sorry, gorilla, I didn't control my strength properly."

If Paddy were called a gorilla normally, he would immediately get angry and start a fight.

But after that brief encounter, he knew he was no match for Luffy.

Zeff realized that Luffy probably wasn't there to cause trouble, so he asked.

"What's the matter with you?"

Luffy came to Zeff's side and explained.

"Here's the thing, I found a great chef at your restaurant and I'd like to invite him to join us as a pirate."

"But he said he had some reason for having to stay here, so I came to ask if you had any solutions."

Upon hearing Luffy's words, Zeff immediately guessed who Luffy was referring to.

"The chef you're talking about, is it Sanji?"

Luffy nodded.

"That idiot..."

Zhefu cursed inwardly.

But he remained serious when facing Luffy.

"If you want to invite him, you should go and talk to him."

"There's nothing we can do to help."

Zeff naturally hopes that Sanji will become a pirate and pursue his dream.

However, he doesn't understand Luffy yet, so he can't easily hand Sanji over to them.

Luffy could roughly guess Zeff's thoughts.

He came to Zhefu mainly to tell the latter about this matter.

Once Zeff gradually understands what kind of people they are, he will go to find Sanji.

"Then I'll take my leave."

Luffy maintained his smile and politely said goodbye.

Chapter Thirty-Three: The Krieg Pirates

Inside the restaurant.

"Mmm!!! This meat pie is so delicious."

"This sashimi is quite good!"

"The wine isn't bad either!"

"good to eat!"

Luffy and his group were raving about how delicious the food was at the restaurant, their mouths never stopping for a moment.
