It was a terrible mistake to call all the alchemist barons together for a meeting, and he would soon find out.
When faced with an enemy that far exceeds the rules and even surpasses the comprehension of ordinary people, anyone can make a wrong judgment because they simply do not know what kind of opponent they are facing.
The methods and powers of the mortal world seem as childish as playing in front of them.
This is a helpless and tragic situation.
In the relatively clear hall of Hilko's residence, he stood at the head of the table, gazing down at the alchemist barons.
Almost all of them have businesses and influence in Zuan.
Like Hilko, they were also very anxious.
"I want to know who had the guts to fire cannons into the conference hall. It's obvious they're coming for us!"
A creature that looked like a rat—no, it looked like a rat-man—shouted.
“Hilko, you must find the attackers, otherwise we won’t be able to live in peace for the next few days.” Another alchemist baron nodded in agreement.
"I'm going to find him, torture him horribly, and then hang him in the gas tunnels of Zaun!"
In the hall, the attendees were all indignant and furious, venting their displeasure and anger.
Hilco stared silently at the arguing group.
To be honest, he had no interest in confiding in these idiots right now; all he could think about was Jinx.
Just as the argument was raging, he suddenly slammed his hand on the table, his expression turning sinister.
“Stop right there, you idiots!” he hissed.
The hall fell silent instantly.
The alchemist barons were intimidated by Hilko's imposing presence.
"What's wrong, Hilko?" someone noticed that Hilko's expression was off.
"Ahem, the enemy could arrive at the door at any moment, and we don't even know where they're from, yet we're engaging in pointless arguments here..."
“More importantly, they kidnapped Jinx,” Hilko said, pointing sharply to the door. “You should know what this means to me.”
Below, the alchemist barons' expressions suddenly turned strange.
Hilco quickly noticed the oddity.
He slowly turned his head and looked towards the doorway.
Jinx stood there looking completely bewildered.
Three shadows pressed into the hall, aided by the gray-green light from the outside corridor.
The shadow is already illustrating this fact.
“They’re here,” Jinx said.
Chapter 467 Reclaiming What Belongs to Me
Jinx spoke very softly, but to everyone present it sounded like a heavy hammer blow.
The place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
As luck would have it, just as Hilko was saying that Jinx had been captured, she suddenly appeared here.
They appeared at Hilko's encampment, in the location most likely to wipe out all the alchemist barons.
Nobody sitting here is a fool.
They and Hilko are a community of shared interests and destiny; there's no need to stage such a scheme specifically to target them.
So, in other words...
Jinx, Hilko's good daughter, led the way for the enemy.
Now, the alchemist barons swallowed hard, their gazes slowly settling on the shadows cast from outside.
They've already blocked the entrance.
This is a perfect position, meaning that none of them can escape.
“You did a good job. Saving time is also a very important part.” One of the shadows moved and said to Jinx.
Hilko suddenly realized what had happened.
He suddenly looked at Jinx's somewhat aggrieved face. After realizing what she had done, he wasn't angry. Instead, he extended his arm to Jinx and said gently:
"It's good that you're back."
Jinx tentatively moved forward, taking small steps, before finally throwing herself into his arms and whimpering.
"What a touching scene." Applause came from outside the door.
"Although it might spoil the touching scene a bit, as I just said, saving time is also a very important part."
As Xiaofeng spoke, he stepped into the hall.
His gaze swept around, instantly locking onto everyone present.
Hilko's sinister gaze fell upon him: "Friend, you've done something you shouldn't have."
"Shouldn't have done it?" Xiaofeng chuckled twice.
"Zaun has its own order, and you have disrupted it. Now you've come knocking on our door. What do you want?"
Hearing Hilko's words, Xiaofeng calmly replied, "Of course, I've come to reclaim what belongs to me completely."
"Your stuff?" The alchemist barons looked at Xiaofeng in confusion.
These were completely unfamiliar faces. They looked at each other, confirming each other's identities with their eyes.
What is certain is that none of them had ever seen this person.
Even when Vander was still around, they were already high-ranking figures in this area, but none of them had ever met Xiaofeng.
So, where did he come from to reclaim what belongs to him?
“That’s right, it’s mine.” Xiaofeng nodded. “This city called Zaun, that’s all.”
As soon as Xiaofeng finished speaking, the alchemist barons stared wide-eyed at Xiaofeng's face in disbelief.
“No one can call Zaun his thing,” Hilko said coldly, as he quietly pulled Jinx behind him, as if that would protect her.
"We built this territory, its industries, its rules, and its order from scratch, and you want to take it away? Ha!" an alchemist baron scoffed.
"No wonder this city looks so disgusting." Xiaofeng nodded in sudden realization.
The alchemical barons before me were either rats or incredibly ugly.
Their pale, wrinkled skin was painted with dark green patterns, or half of their chins had been replaced with steel parts, or they had all sorts of pipes inserted into their bodies.
In short.
None of them looked like normal people.
Compared to them, Hilko is actually the most decent one.
“You are insulting us!” An alchemist baron stepped forward.
Several eyes scanned Xiaofeng; he hadn't neglected to bring a weapon, coming empty-handed.
At the same time, he didn't look like a strong man who could take on ten people at once.
So what's there to hesitate about?
The ratman nimbly leaped into the air and launched a sneak attack on Xiaofeng.
"That's enough nonsense. Zaun is not a place to tolerate your insolence!" he growled.
The next second, the original high spirits shattered with a roar, and the ratman was sent flying backward.
A gust of wind swept into the room, overturning all the furniture and even tearing off half of the neatly fitted floorboards.
He rolled heavily on the ground several times before crashing into the wall and losing consciousness.
Xiaofeng, however, didn't move at all.
"What kind of power is this?" Hilko's eyes flickered with a sharp glint.
He could not sense any technological power from the other party, nor could he feel any faint light.
Where did this gust of wind come from?
"First of all, I must clarify that I am not a moderate." Xiaofeng spread his hands, walked calmly to the main seat, and looked down at the crowd below.
"But actually I'm a pretty magnanimous guy. If you're willing to follow me, even though you're just as ugly inside and out, I'm still willing to take you in."
“If you’re unwilling, then your fate will be the same as that guy’s.” Xiaofeng pointed at the ratman lying on the ground.
"You have ten seconds to make a choice, ten, nine..." Xiaofeng calmly started the countdown.
He seemed unwilling to give these alchemist barons much time to consider.
They either submit or they perish along with the filthy Zaun of the past.
Hilko listened to the countdown in his ear.
He is waiting.
This is his territory. Not long ago, he mobilized all his mutated warriors, those monsters who could remain immortal after consuming the Glimmer.
He remained calm and listened quietly to the footsteps.
The footsteps came from outside the door. After realizing that something was wrong, he made his own preparations, and his troops had already been placed nearby.
A faint light; this pinkish-purple potion can make people evolve.
Even the best of dozens of humans might not be able to stop a single mutated warrior.
Sure enough, the footsteps were getting closer.
Hilco's heart gradually sank.
This was the strongest force he could muster. Soon, this arrogant fool who boasted about unifying Zaun would pay the price for his words.
Logically speaking, that's how it should be.
But soon, as the footsteps grew louder, a teasing voice suddenly came from outside the door.
"Huh? It seems like some bugs have gotten in," Zhong Su said.
Chapter 468: Treat first and then manage
Amidst the banter and teasing between the Chinese and Soviet leaders, a thunderous roar suddenly resounded in the area.
The sound was so loud it was like a great bell ringing in someone's ear, or like some ancient beast roaring in the ears of everyone present.
Hilko felt his eardrums vibrating.
The roar was intense but brief, followed by a deathly silence.
The footsteps disappeared.
Hilko seemed to suddenly realize something, and his expression changed abruptly.
The mutant warriors he relied on vanished in a single roar.
He didn't even see the person who came.
The shadow on the ground suddenly moved, and Zhong Su confidently and calmly stepped into the hall.
He first looked around, then summoned golden lightning that coiled around his arms, the leaping sparks appearing like dancing fire in the eyes of the alchemist barons present.
This is an extraordinary ability.
The alchemical barons had never heard of or seen such extraordinary power, the ability to control lightning, and the massive bolt of lightning was so easily grasped in the palm of the man before them.
In an instant, a bizarre idea suddenly arose in the minds of these guys.
They seemed like country bumpkins, never having seen anything like this before.
After surveying the surroundings, Zhong Su declared authoritatively, "I support my brother's decision. As for you, you ugly insects..."
"Who is in favor? Who is against?"
As soon as Zhong Su finished speaking, he exerted a little force, and the lightning in his hand suddenly surged, startling the alchemist barons who all took a few steps back.
