Hell Game: Starting from Metropolis

Liu Zheng revealed a sincere smile.
"Yaoji is so lucky, I'm even a little jealous."
The deputy minister raised an eyebrow and gave him a knowing look.
"I'm easily seduced; any beautiful female has a chance."
He returned a knowing look.
"Ha, you'd be a fool to believe that. A man like you, if he really fell for you, he wouldn't be willing to give his life for you."
"Okay, let's get serious. I know someone who wants to buy a burial plot with a specific number. Can you do that?"
The deputy minister rolled his eyes at him.
"Can I ask why?"
Liu Zheng asked.
To be honest, he was not very willing to deal with the gravedigger.
He could usually figure out what the other big shots wanted, but the gravedigger felt just as unpredictable as the Red Ghost.
But Red Ghost had no designs on him; aside from the first time, it was always Liu Zheng who took the initiative to seek it out, while the tomb keeper was a different story.
Therefore, it would be better to solve this using other methods.
“I found a house I liked, but the owner said he would only sell it if I helped him get this cemetery plot, and he would give me a 70% discount.”
The deputy minister hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"A 30% discount is a bit too much."
Let alone in a metropolis, even in real life, selling a house at a 30% discount would be enough to make you call the homeowner your godfather.
Generally, these are either a price based on personal relationships or a way to settle debts.
If something seems too good to be true, there's definitely something fishy going on behind the scenes, like a haunted house or something similar.
Oh, I forgot, this is the Metropolitan Area, so haunted houses are probably a plus?
"Yes, if I miss this opportunity, I'll have to save for another ten years or so."
The deputy minister nodded.
"Is the homeowner certain that the cemetery plot is unclaimed?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Of course it belongs to someone."
"He already has someone else, why would he want her?"
His eyes widened.
"He only asks me to find a way because he has a master; otherwise, wouldn't he have just bought it himself?"
The deputy minister said.
"That makes sense. How about this, I can ask around for you, but I can't guarantee success. If it doesn't work out, I can subsidize part of your purchase price, how about that?"
Liu Zheng thought for a moment and then said.
"Then you should pay a deposit first."
The deputy minister, of course, would not be fooled by his empty talk.
"Sure, how much do you want?"
he asked.
"I want."
The deputy minister was about to speak when he suddenly swallowed his words back.
"You're not from Bathhouse Street, are you?"
She glanced at Liu Zheng and asked.
"Yes."
He readily admitted it.
"You know a lot of people in the city?"
The deputy minister asked again.
"It's not that many."
After all, there were fewer than thirty people; even a random local from the city could count more people than he knew.
"Who are they? Can you tell me?"
The vice minister seemed quite interested.
"You're not in a hurry anymore?"
"Lord Kunguna is enjoying the afterglow; there's still a little time left."
The deputy minister said.
"Okay. Actually, it's nothing much, just some company managers, department heads, city hall employees, self-employed business owners, landmark agents and the like."
Liu Zheng said, feigning nonchalance.
What is a landmark agent?
The deputy minister asked.
Have you ever heard of the black market?
He gave an example.
"I've heard that. Apparently, even the city hall can't control that place. There are many things that you can't buy anywhere else."
The deputy minister thought for a moment and then said.
"Yeah, I know a big shot in there. Also, the sewers, the bloody restaurant, and the 'Red Witch' board game arcade."
He listed them one by one.
"You know all the agents in these places?"
The deputy minister stared wide-eyed at him.
"We all know each other, but our relationships vary in quality."
Liu Zheng shrugged.
"If you're so capable, why are you working at our bathhouse?"
The deputy minister looked at him with suspicion.
"Do you want to know?"
He said with a half-smile.
"Do not want to."
The vice minister shook his head vigorously.
"That's fine. You do your thing, I'll do mine. We're all operating within the rules of the bathhouse. Once you leave the bathhouse and come to the city, I'll give you a proper welcome."
Liu Zheng spoke in the tone of an elder brother.
"How do you plan to entertain me?"
The deputy minister winked at him.
"That depends on whether you, Vice Minister, favor me or not."
He chuckled, looking every bit the gigolo trying to trick a rich woman into spending money.
"What a clever man. I'm getting more and more jealous of Yaoji."
The deputy minister reached out and touched his face twice.
"So, it's settled then?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"You've been so well-behaved, how could I not spoil you? But I can waive your deposit, though you'll still have to appease the others."
The deputy minister said.
"Understood, then I'll trouble you, sister."
He took out a large wad of banknotes and stuffed them into the vice minister's collar with a very exaggerated gesture.
"Little rascal."
Feeling the touch from a certain part of his body, the deputy minister jokingly scolded him.
"It's not that the younger brother is bad, it's that the older sister is too charming."
Liu Zheng argued illogically.
"Then how about you dump that little girl Yaoji and get together with your sister?"
The deputy minister proposed.
"Okay, I'll definitely come find you, sister, after I've had my fill of playing with her."
He readily agreed.
"You're being way too direct."
The deputy minister found it both laughable and absurd.
"I can't help it, I just speak very directly."
Liu Zheng looked like a rogue.
Are you this straight in other parts too?
The deputy minister's gaze darted downwards.
"No, it's not only very curved, it also spins. Would you like to see it, sister?"
His hands also gestured downwards.
"We'll talk when you come back alive. Alright, we can't delay any longer, let's go back."
The deputy minister said.
"Okay. Do you have any secret tips to share with me, sister?"
Liu Zheng asked shamelessly.
"What's the secret?"
"That's the secret to surviving Lord Kunguna."
"There is no such thing."
The deputy minister shook his head.
"Sister~ please help me. When you go to the city, just tell your brother if you need any help, it will be fine."
He held the vice minister's hand and acted coquettishly.
"I don't know when I'll be able to go to the city."
The vice minister was not fooled this time.
"Could Lord Kunguna transform back into the young Lord Kunguna?"
Liu Zheng got to the point.
If Kunguna can revert to the benevolent god, the one known as the Lesser Kunguna, then this crisis will be resolved.
"That's possible. However..."
"But what?"
"That's almost impossible."
The deputy minister said.
