Volume 1: 000 - Prologue
"Da~"
On the beach, a soft, cuddly thing made a babyish sound, and then it slowly began to move. Under its pale animal skin, human limbs and, well, a black tail gradually emerged.
She had just woken up and vaguely looked around. She remembered fighting with a dark creature before falling back asleep. She tried to stand up, but her limbs seemed to have a mind of their own, moving independently. She knew they were her legs and feet, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get up. Finally, she gave up and simply lay down on the beach, her small body wriggling forward like a sand worm.
The sun was warm and the sea breeze was cool. She crawled on the beach for a while, leaving a suspicious curve in her wake, but then she got tired of crawling. The little girl felt the wet sea breeze on her face and comfortably squinted her eyes. Suddenly, she felt a little discomfort on the tip of her nose. She slowly opened her eyes, and her crimson-gold dragon eyes stared at the golden crab that was pinching the tip of her nose. The poor crab didn't even know what it had pinched before it was swallowed by her. The little girl's sharp canine teeth pierced through the crab's hard shell without any resistance. The crisp taste made the little girl turn her head slightly.
She suddenly realized something: she could see! She stared wide-eyed with delight as she looked around. The azure sea, the dark brown rocks, the emerald green lawn, and the bright yellow sand—everything was so new and exciting. She looked up curiously.
"Ow~"
The blinding sunlight made her immediately cover her eyes and lower her head. After hurriedly rubbing her eyes, she noticed her body. "Clatter?" she cried out. She remembered that she used to be covered in scales. How did she end up like this? And where were her wings? She frantically tore off the animal skin and tried to touch her back, but it was as smooth as jade. There were no wings or claws. The little girl hurriedly got up from the ground. Suddenly, a pale blue light flashed, and she returned to her original form.
The Black Dragon was plunged into chaos, everything around her was so unfamiliar. At this moment, the sea breeze blew, carrying the scales scattered on the beach into the sea. The Black Dragon shook her body, and the scales spread out. Only then did she "see" her surroundings clearly. After stretching comfortably with her wings and claws outstretched, she realized that her original form was more comfortable. Then, in the pale blue light, she transformed back into her juvenile form.
Although the young girl didn't understand why she had turned into an upright creature, she had no parents and had been all alone since she woke up. She also had no way to find out what had happened to her. But she wasn't in a hurry. Although she didn't know the reason, she had a strong learning ability.
After drawing a bunch of strange lines on the beach, the little girl finally stood up with the support of her tail. She staggered a few steps, looking completely bewildered. Just as she was about to run, her left and right feet gave way and she fell to the ground. The animal skin hanging on her tail was also draped over her. Still looking bewildered, she got up from the sand, shook the sand off her face, and continued to practice walking on the beach with her tail as support.
The little girl stumbled and walked for a while, getting covered in sand before she got used to walking upright. She also tried walking on all fours, but unlike her Black Erosion Dragon form, her forelimbs, or arms, were too short compared to her hind limbs, or thighs. She couldn't run fast like that, and her vision was also poor. She didn't want to give up this hard-won color at all.
The little girl walked along the coastline. Everything here was so new to her. The crabs on the beach and the raspberries by the roadside did not escape her mouth. The ibis had long been frightened away by the little girl's scent. The ice slime just hopped around in place. The little girl was quite curious about this round thing and opened her mouth to bite it. The coolness in her mouth made the little girl happy. Although she was bitten, the ice slime did not dare to move and let the little girl rub against it.
Just as the little girl was having fun, a wild boar, oblivious to its own mortality, suddenly rushed out of the woods. The little girl happened to be in the path of the wild boar, and she stared at the wild boar with a blank expression. Then, as it ran up to her, she smashed its head with her tail.
Seeing the wild boar's limp body and smelling the blood, the little girl realized she was a bit hungry. She jumped next to the boar, opened her mouth, and bit down. Her sharp fangs easily pierced the boar's skin. She tilted her head back, tore off the boar skin, chewed a couple of times, and then found the taste too bland, so she had to leave it aside.
The little girl crunched on her bone-in meat, her big eyes observing her surroundings.
The young girl ate the heart and kidneys with relish, but she knew immediately that the intestines and stomach were inedible, so she promptly threw them aside. Before she could eat more than a few bites of the wild boar, the smell of blood attracted a group of Hilichurls wielding sticks, who looked like they had just been chasing something away.
Seeing a similar upright creature approaching, but unlike any other upright creature she had ever seen before, the little girl raised her small hand in a threatening gesture, bared her little fangs, and let out a delicate cry. If it were a Black Erosion Dragon, it would have been a loud dragon roar.
Unfortunately, the Hilichurls had no idea what the little guy was trying to do. They charged at him, brandishing their sticks. The little girl almost instinctively turned and swung her tail, sending the Hilichurls flying. The remaining Hilichurls were also sent flying by the little girl's tail before they could even react.
However, the Hilichurls looked dry and didn't look appetizing, so the young girl decided to finish eating the wild boar first.
While the little girl was eating, she suddenly noticed a black thing behind her. She bared her teeth and snarled twice. She realized that the black thing was still following her. She turned around to bite it, but the black thing was faster than her. By the time the little girl turned around, the black thing had already run away. The little girl had no choice but to reach out and grab it along the route it had taken.
After catching it, the little girl suddenly realized that someone was holding her tail. She looked at her tail in confusion, then at her hand, and then realized what she had been chasing. It was her own tail! After understanding the reason, the little girl happily hugged her tail and rolled around on the ground several times before going back to eat the rest of the wild boar meat.
By the time she remembered the group of Hilichurls, their corpses were gone. The little girl sniffed them, then immediately covered her nose in disgust and ran away. She was more interested in wild boars, and after sniffing the remaining scent on them, she disappeared into the woods.
After eating more than a dozen wild boars, the young girl was full. Just as she was about to find a place to sleep, she saw a strange pillar by the roadside. She thought, "I can sleep there tonight."

During a hunt, the dragon fell into the river.
A river god appeared and asked the hunter, "Are you chasing this gold-rare dragon or this silver-rare dragon?"
The hunter replied, "Neither, it's that red fire dragon."
The river god appreciated the hunter's honesty and bestowed upon him the Gold Rathian, the Silver Rathian, and the King of the Sky.

Volume 1: 001 - Monsters and Thieves
The rice wife's shadow faces the mountains and the deserted sea.
After a busy day, the Fools soldier returned to his warm camp. In the tedious and dangerous life abroad, only delicious food could save his soul. However, when he reached into the supply box, he was delighted to find it empty.
Damn it.
After a thorough inspection, the Fools were surprised to find that their camp had been visited by an uninvited guest. Not only were the supply boxes ransacked, but some of their personal belongings had also been roughly rummaged through, and the campfire had been overturned.
The leader of the Wind Fist Vanguard looked at the empty camp and gathered wind element in his hand. Fortunately, the team members behind him stopped him in time, otherwise they would not have a place to sleep tonight. The camp was arranged before they came out, and if it was changed at will, they would not be able to receive the next supply.
He didn't want to turn the mission into a wilderness survival exercise.
They had heard similar stories before, about how the famous traveler would "kindly" help the Hilichurls tidy up their camps while doing quests.
However, the traveler is said to have already reached Mount Sumeru, and stealing food is such an immoral act.
When the Fools were stationed there, they cleared out the surrounding Hilichurls, but they couldn't figure out who did it.
But they couldn't go without food, so the soldiers had to find some violets around them, start a fire, and roast the violets to fill their stomachs. Although the flesh of the violet is a decent dish after cooking, the taste of roasted violets was indescribable. If their food hadn't been taken away, who would have been willing to eat violets for the rest of the time?
However, this situation did not only occur among the Fools' soldiers.
The next day, two strange things happened in Inazuma Castle. One was that the children of Konta Village discovered a monster. According to the children, while playing outside the village, they saw a strange figure flash by. The brave children followed it and came to a depression in the valley, where they found a pile of bones.
Secondly, several stores near Inazuma Castle had their warehouses burglarized, with large quantities of meat and sugar products stolen, causing countless losses. Under the investigation of the Tenryo Magistrate, the store owners who were burglarized said that they had checked the doors and windows every day, and the warehouses that were burglarized had also been checked. Unfortunately, the Tenryo Magistrate's people did not find any clues.
The matter was of great importance. While the Adventurers' Guild posted the quest, the people of the Heavenly Territory also began their own operations, with Xuan San being appointed to investigate.
The shop owners who had been robbed were searching for clues, and the investigating magistrate also sent his own people to help the people of the Heavenly Commandery to tally the losses of each shop.
Daiyu, who belongs to the Adventurers' Guild, accepted the first quest. Based on the information in the quest, he came to Konta Village. After asking the village chief for some general information, Daiyu was led by the village chief to a group of children.
"Children, this is an adventurer from the Adventurers' Guild, who has come to help you investigate that monster."
"Hehe, kids, tell me, where did you see that monster?"
When the children heard that the village chief had brought the adults from the Adventurers' Guild here, they immediately began to describe the situation to him in a flurry of voices.
"The monster was not large, but it was very fast. It had four arms and two legs, and it looked like a monster."
"That monster was clearly a Kamaitachi. I heard my dad say that Kamaitachi are very fast, like a gust of wind, and they can cut people with their claws."
"That's not a weasel, that's a sable demon. It has a very long, black tail."
Amid the children's lively discussion, Da You looked at the village chief, who had been looking at the children with a kind expression, but shook his head slightly upon noticing Da You's gaze.
Daiyou immediately thought that the village chief might have posted the request just to satisfy the children's curiosity, or that there really was such a monster. However, all of this could only be decided after the scene was investigated.
"By the way, let the adventurer take a look at that place."
"Yes, I definitely need to see it."
Pushed by the children, Daiyu followed them to the vicinity of the valley. Before long, they found the place where the children had discovered it, and there, Daiyu did indeed see the large pile of bones mentioned in the report.
With his extensive experience as an adventurer, Da You immediately recognized the bones. Among them were not only pig bones, but also fish bones, and even many crab remains.
If the fertilizer was good, and the bones appeared around the same time, then what the children saw must have been real.
"It seems this guy is an omnivore, but there are too many bones on the ground. How big is this guy's appetite?"
Da You muttered to himself, skillfully pulled out his camera, took a picture of the pile of bones on the ground, and then began to look for suspicious clues around him. The village chief saw the pile of bones again. He didn't care much at first, but he immediately urged the children to leave so that the adventurers could investigate in peace. At the same time, he warned them to be sure to go home after dark.
The culprit, our protagonist, has already returned to the lair he just found.
On the western cliff of the desolate sea, in a cave, a small figure lay in a nest made of wood, stones and scraps of cloth, covered with a grayish-white animal skin. Although it was called an animal skin, there was not a single stray hair on it.
Scattered around her were the fish and meat she had caught. The wood and stones had been worn smooth. She was still dreaming, seemingly having a feast. She smacked her lips, then suddenly woke up. She glanced around, grabbed a fish, and stuffed it into her mouth. Staring blankly at the scenery outside, as if recalling something, she bit off the fish's head and swallowed it.
Inazuma Castle was very quiet after nightfall. Inside the Kamisato residence, servants brought food to the table. As the head of the shrine, Kamisato Ayato rarely ate dinner at home at this time. His sister, the White Heron Princess of Inazuma, Kamisato Ayaka, also thoughtfully prepared a side dish for her brother.
Ayaka Kamisato put the warm rice into her mouth. Tonight's dinner was Konta-ni, a country dish that is slow-cooked to bring out the best in each ingredient. The precise cooking time made the chicken and mushrooms inside very fragrant.
It is said that this dish originally did not have a name, but because it was nutritious and delicious, it gradually spread in Inazuma. As a result, people outside Konta Village would call this dish Konta-ni.
"Brother, you're back early today. The business with the magistrate is finished. I remember there are quite a few unresolved issues with the outlying islands and the merchant guild, right?"
Ayato Kamisato didn't answer immediately. He picked up a piece of the side dish his younger sister had made, put it in his mouth, and chewed it slowly. The radish and cabbage were crisp and refreshing, very appetizing.
"It's over, but something else has happened at the Tenryo Magistrate's office. Konta Village says they've discovered an unknown yokai, and most of the merchants' warehouses in Inazuma Castle have been robbed. The stolen items are mostly meat and sugar, so the losses are quite severe this time. Kujo Sara has also arranged for people to patrol, hoping to catch the thief as soon as possible."
"I see. Oh, right, I made plans to go shopping with Xiaogong tomorrow. I'll take this opportunity to ask around."
"The Naganohara family's daughter, then I'll leave it to you. Ayaka, please be careful not to overwork yourself, and let me know if anything happens."
"You flatter me. Sharing my brother's burdens is what a sister should do."
After dinner, the servants took the dishes away. After taking a bath, Ayato Kamisato returned to his room to continue the tasks he had not finished that day. Ayaka could not help him with that.
After brewing a pot of tea and delivering it to her brother's room, Ayaka Kamisato took out the unfinished book "The Fox of the Dandelion Sea" from the bookshelf, turned up the light in her room a little, and flipped to the part of the book she hadn't finished reading.
Volume 1: 002 - The Strange Loli
The next morning, Ayaka Kamisato got up early as usual, changed into her kendo practice clothes, and began her morning training.
Her mother once told her that the way of the sword is simple, but through a thousand kinds of training, even Su Zhen is unstoppable.
After adjusting her breathing, the girl stood in the courtyard and brandished her sword. Time slowly passed, and the sunlight gradually melted away the darkness, casting a dazzling light upon her.
Even with a wooden sword, the girl showed no sign of slackness. Her eyes were fixed ahead as she gently exhaled and swung her sword one last time with all her might.
"Papa~"
Applause rang out, and Ayaka Kamisato looked in the direction of the sound. Her older brother was leaning against the doorframe, watching her. Ayaka Kamisato took the towel that Ayato Kamisato handed her, wiping the sweat from her face while adjusting her breathing.
"Good morning, brother."
"Good morning. Your swordsmanship is as beautiful as ever. Your sword swings are full of power and confidence. You are truly worthy of being my sister."
Ayaka Kamisato placed the towel she had used to wipe her sweat aside, held the wooden sword, and smiled at Ayato Kamisato, saying, "Thank you for the compliment, brother. How about a match?"
"Let's do it another day. I have some business to attend to today. I've arranged to meet with the editors at Yaedo to discuss the details of the Radiant Splendor Festival. Oh, by the way, I came to call you for breakfast. Go and get ready."
"Okay, thank you for your hard work, brother. I'm going to take a shower now."
Breakfast consisted of miso soup and fried fish. With the end of the lockdown, some residents of Inatsuma Castle began to try Mondstadt or Liyue cuisine, but the Kamisato family always followed Inatsuma traditions.
After dinner, Thomas accompanied Ayato Kamisato to the Wood Leak Tea Room to discuss details with the editors of Yaedo, while Ayato Kamisato had to go to her appointment at Naganohara Yoru-no-miya. The three parted ways at the Adventurers' Guild in Inazuma Castle.
Although it was still early, many people were already busy making a living on the street. After greeting a few familiar shopkeepers, Ayaka Kamisato arrived at the Naganohara Fireworks Shop, bent her index finger, and gently knocked on the door.
"Dad, a customer has arrived. I'll go open the door."
"Huh? What?"
A customer has arrived!
Even from outside the door, Ayaka Kamisato could hear Naganohara Yoshimiya's cheerful voice. As the door was pulled open with a "whoosh," Ayaka Kamisato smiled and greeted Naganohara Yoshimiya.
Good morning, Yomiya.
"Good morning, Ayaka. I'm all packed. Come sit here for a bit. I'll tie my hair up and then we'll head out."
Naganohara Yoshimiya warmly invited Ayaka to wait inside. Naganohara Yoshimiya's father was studying fireworks formulas when he saw Ayaka Kamisato enter. He asked curiously, "So it's Miss Kamisato. What kind of fireworks do you need? Our shop has recently developed quite a few new types of fireworks."
"Oh, Dad, Linghua came to ask me to go shopping. Didn't I tell you yesterday?"
