Not everyone has the opportunity to atone for their sins.

Mason and Howard had this opportunity because their wives and daughters volunteered.

They chose self-sacrifice in order to support their husbands, children, parents and younger siblings.

They are shameful, their actions are dirty, but they are great.

Mason was very confused and was afraid to see his wife.

He was not afraid of death, he was just afraid of seeing her disappointed in him, he was afraid of seeing his wife's expression.

But deep down, he wanted to see her again. He wanted to tell her that he had raised their child.

But what would she think of him?

He is a coward who betrayed his wife, but now he is begging for his wife's forgiveness. How shameful!

Mason's face was full of bitterness, and so was Howard, who was walking in front of him.

They knew where to find their wives and daughters, to Bethel's house.

Besser plundered the most beautiful women in the factory and kept them in his house.

Although he doesn't use them every day, he doesn't want others to use them, which is also a way for him to show his status.

Now that Besser is dead, everything here is managed by the Night Haunter.

But there were too few Midnight Haunters, and they were not familiar with the terrain here. They failed to take over many places in time, including Bethel's house.

"Here." Howard suddenly stopped and handed a dagger to Mason. "We must rescue them by ourselves. This is our only chance to atone for our sins!"

Mason looked stunned, but Howard's words made his eyes firm.

He had never killed anyone in his life, but he had to kill.

There were sounds of running behind them, and several people caught up with them.

They gathered together in silence and walked in the same direction.

They soon came into sight of Besser's house, deep within the factory.

The two gang members at the door didn't know what was going on and looked at them in confusion.

"Howard, Mason, are you here to see Boss Besser?" one of them asked.

If there is a shortage of people on the production line or there is any malfunction, they have to report to Besser.

So the two of them didn't suspect anything. These untouchables wouldn't want to rebel, right?

They have guns!

They had no fear, and then the knife was stabbed into their bodies, again and again.

Blood stained the foremen's hands, and they dispersed in silence, just as they had when they surrounded them.

Howard picked up the gun and broke the door lock, and Mason pushed the door open with trembling hands.

A young girl was kneeling at the door. There was always a woman kneeling here to greet Bethel. This was Bethel's rule.

But when she saw the people at the door clearly, she was frightened and hurriedly drove them away.

"Dad, why are you here? Get out now, leave here, don't let Bether's people find you!"

Howard burst into tears. He knelt in front of the girl and choked with pain.

"I'm sorry, Amyra, I'm sorry."

When Amyra saw the body outside the door, she seemed to understand something. She hugged her father and comforted him gently.

"It's okay, Dad. Is Mom okay? Are Joey and Betha okay?"

The women in the inner room heard the noise and came out. They saw their husbands, fathers and children.

Mason trembled as he walked towards his wife. They looked at each other and Mason lowered his head in shame.

"Grace, I..."

Mason cried like a baby. He hated his cowardice, his incompetence, and his selfishness.

If he had not married Grace, perhaps she would not have to suffer all this.

But Grace understood her husband very well, and she hugged him gently with a gentle smile, just like on their wedding day.

"It's okay. Is our child okay?"

"She's very nice, really."

"Can you take me to see her?" she asked nervously. "I want to hug her. Will she be afraid of me?"

"No, Grace, she always remembers you and she misses you."

Chapter 28 Horseshoe

Mason and the others returned to the room, where the giant was waiting for them.

"I have only three demands of you," Curze said. "First, everyone must obey the laws of the Night Haunter. It's forbidden to injure, kill, eat, or force anyone. Those who injure will be injured, and all others will be put to death."

"Second, continue your previous work and maintain factory production, but increase your break time by one hour."

"Third, send your children to the Midnight Haunter."

The foremen looked at each other, and they had no objection to the first two points.

Hurting, killing, cannibalism and physical strength are the rights of gangs, they never had a chance.

They had no objection to the work, as they had always been doing it this way. Koz even allowed them to rest for an extra hour every day. He was such a kind man!

But they couldn't figure out the third point.

"Sir," Mason asked nervously, "may I ask what you need our child for?"

"They need to be educated," Coates said. "If they can understand and obey the law and justice, they have a chance to join us. You can refuse, I will not force you."

What he needed were warriors who understood justice and were willing to sacrifice their lives for it, not children forced to take up arms.

The latter will pollute his foundations and destroy his walls.

The foremen looked at each other in silence. They felt that the Midnight Haunter seemed different from other gangs, but they couldn't tell what the difference was.

The Night Haunter was more generous to them than the other gangs, but was that the only difference?

They can't tell the difference, and because they don't understand, they're still hesitating whether to send their children there.

But Coates isn't worried.

There is no shortage of orphans in the bottom nest, and the same is true for the lower nest.

For a bite to eat, many people are willing to join the Midnight Haunter.

Curze took away all the arms in the warehouse. These arms were originally to be used to pay taxes to the upper nobles, but now they would be shipped to the bottom nest to support Sevatar's purge.

The elevator delivered batches of arms to the bottom nest, and the bottom nest also delivered batches of bottom nest children to the lower nest.

They are all followers of justice and they will bring a new order to the Lower Nest.

As Koze gradually eradicated all the gang strongholds in the territory, the Night Haunters would follow in his footsteps and occupy those strongholds and factory areas, their power continuing to expand.

When the Midnight Haunter announced that it could provide free food to all children, tens of thousands of orphans spontaneously went to the Midnight Haunter's base every day.

They may not understand the Night Haunter's justice, but they certainly don't want to go hungry again.

The Night Haunter raided all the gangsters' homes, and they had enough corpse starch to feed the orphans.

"No one is born lowly, and your life doesn't have to be miserable." Facing tens of thousands of young and expectant eyes, Fili fiddled with the loudspeaker and said, "It is those nobles who have taken away the surplus of your labor. Fili was very nervous. This was her first time teaching so many people.

The children below listened very carefully because the Midnight Haunter had fed them, but they couldn't understand it either.

If even the teacher doesn’t understand, how can the students understand?

Fili was very distressed, but she was just a student!

She is willing to sacrifice herself for the Night Haunter, but can she really explain what justice is?

She couldn't, she could only clumsily explain her understanding and incompletely repeat Wop's teachings.

But there are some things that these children can understand, such as the fact that the Midnight Haunter gives them food so that they can overthrow the rule of the nobles.

"But what can we do?" someone asked.

"We are just a group of kids." someone said fearfully.

"Why rebel against the nobles? I heard they eat a child every day!"

"I heard they have tanks!"

"What's a tank?"

"The tank is a weapon that can kill us all at once!"

The children became noisy and fear spread among them. Even these children knew that rebelling against the gangs and rebelling against the nobles were completely different concepts.

"I'm a child too!" Fili said angrily, "My companions are all children, some of them are even younger than you, but haven't we been working hard?"

The children stopped talking, not because they understood, but because they were afraid that Fili would be angry and leave them without food.

"Let me do it." Wop touched Fili's head.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Wop." Fili was about to cry.

"It's okay, you've tried very hard." Wop patted her head and motioned for her to sit in the front row and listen to the lecture with the others.

Wop: "Let me tell you two stories."

"Two nobles at the top of the Tower wanted to go to war. One was called Richard and the other was called Henry. They had gathered their armies and were recruiting more. But they didn't have enough weapons, so they sent orders to the gangs below them to have their factories produce more weapons."

"The gang gave the workers a death order, requiring them to work 24 hours a day and deliver the amount demanded by the nobles within the specified time limit."

"Hundreds of thousands of workers died from exhaustion on the job. They produced hundreds of thousands of laser guns. However, the gangs were obsessed with efficiency and ignored the workers' warnings. Some of these laser guns were missing key parts, which could pose a safety hazard."

"These defective products were supposed to be disposed of, but the gangs handed them in to make up the numbers, and so the war began."

"Unfortunately, one of Richard's captains was assigned a defective laser rifle. His orders were to hold the elevator and prevent the enemy from entering."

"To boost morale, the regimental commander decided to fire the first shot himself. However, as the enemy charged, the laser gun exploded as the commander pulled the trigger, killing him."

"With the death of the captain, the army's morale collapsed, the elevator was lost, and Richard's defenses were torn apart. Henry's army advanced with unstoppable force, further widening the gap and ultimately winning the battle. To avoid being insulted by Henry, the aristocratic Richard committed suicide in his palace."

"Who can tell me what caused Richard to lose this war?"

These orphans are not well-informed, but they are not stupid.

"It's a worker." said a child.

Wop: "Yeah, those lowly workers who live in the lower nests and are looked down upon by the nobles."

"But we still can't defeat the nobles." A child whispered.

"Why can't we defeat them?" Wop asked. "There are tens of billions of people in the Underhive. As long as we unite, what can the millions of nobles at the top of the tower do to stop us?"

"They have tanks!" one child said.

Fili turned around and refuted him loudly: "They don't have tanks because tanks are produced in the lower nest. Laser guns, food, medicine, clothes, electricity, everything is produced in the lower nest!"

The child stopped talking.

Chapter 29: Hive City Idea King

Wop: "I'm not asking you to come here to die. Many of you don't use the battlefield because you lack the courage. You are not qualified to join us. Only those who are truly committed to justice can join the Night Haunter."

Fili puffed out her chest proudly, and the other children started to get excited. Although they really didn't have the courage, they were very dissatisfied with what Wop said.

One child asked loudly, "Then why are you still feeding us? Are you sick?"
