Upon seeing Li Chen arrive, Da Ye greeted him.

His voice came through the steam pipes, and Li Chen could see the other person standing on the command post waving his hand vigorously.

Meanwhile, the flames on the tail of the Flame-Eevee next to Da Ye suddenly shot up three inches with a "whoosh" as it moved.

Da Ye's signature explosive red hair was particularly striking under the industrial searchlights, the ends of which still carried the scent of machine lubricating oil, a specialty of Jiqing City.

This guy clearly got a haircut.

"I am Daikichi, one of the Four Elite Four members of Sinnoh, and I happen to be here in the Galar region on business."

He grinned, revealing his teeth.

Li Chen nodded slightly, his voice unhurried: "Li Chen, from the East. I can barely be considered a... Champion-level trainer who has traveled to various places."

"Hmph~ Go, honey! Defeat that fire-type trainer on the other side!"

Eileen gave a soft hum in the stands, and the Rotom drones keenly captured the moment, immediately turning their cameras toward her.

"This match will use a six-out-of-three rotation system, Loto!"

The Rotom drone, flashing blue light, landed in the center of the arena, its holographic projection displaying a complex diagram of the battle rules in the air.

Industrial searchlights illuminated the steelworks brightly, and steam pipes emitted regular white jets of steam in sync with the narration.

"Both sides need to register six Pokémon for the competition in advance. Roto can be substituted at any time during the battle!"

Li Chen glanced at the rules on Rotom's screen and decisively clicked the confirmation button on the registration page.

"A six-choose-three open-card battle... that's convenient."

His fingertips slid rapidly across the Poké Ball icon, instantly inputting the data of six Pokémon into the system:

Umaru, Gyarados, Ushiru, Ogre Magi, Latias, Ironbane.

Meanwhile, on Daye's side, what was registered was...

Infernape, Magmortar, Rapidash, Flareon, Houndoom, and Lopunny.

Choose three out of six, and fight with your cards revealed.

When Da Ye saw the Pokémon that Li Chen owned, his mind went blank for a moment.

Martial Arts Bear Master, Moon Bear, Calamity Ghost Pon, Iron Bag, what the hell are these?

There's Latias too?!

So, it's the most normal thing to have that Gyarados, right?

Da Ye swallowed hard.

I have a feeling that none of the Pokémon Li Chen has are normal...

Wait a minute, this configuration... doesn't it look a bit like the mythical beast Darklord?

Da Ye thought of Darkrai from the Lily of the Valley Tournament. Although it used only legendary Pokémon, its actual strength was just so-so.

Ironically, Darkroc couldn't even get past Aru (the Elite Four member of Sinnoh), essentially being crushed by an even stronger opponent.

However, Ah Liu's own strength is actually just so-so.

He is considered the weakest of the Sinnoh Elite Four.

"The battle will begin in three minutes! Please select your starting Pokémon."

The mechanical sound of Rotom drones echoed throughout the arena, and the giant screen above the steel field lit up with a scarlet countdown: [03:00].

The beams of industrial searchlights swept across the solemn faces of both trainers, while white steam billowing from the pipes created a hazy barrier between them.

Li Chen's fingertip hovered over the Poké Ball selection screen, the reflection of his wedding ring casting tiny specks of light on the screen.

His gaze lingered between the icons of the six Pokémon.

Martial Arts Urshifu, Gyarados, Iron Bag...

Behind every choice lie countless tactical branches.

Da Ye, who was opposite him, unusually stopped laughing and frowned under his afro.

His fingers traced the Infernape's Poké Ball, but he kept glancing at the Buneary icon.

Flareon circled anxiously at his feet, its tail flames scorching the oil stains on the ground.

Eileen, standing in the stands, unconsciously clenched her fists. She knew better than anyone that this battle was a psychological game from the very first second.

A Rotom drone flew over the field, capturing the glistening sweat on the foreheads of the two trainers under the searchlight.

In this type of open-ended battle where you choose three out of six, the first Pokémon is actually quite difficult to select.

Multiple scenarios need to be considered.

To avoid being targeted, which could lead to a series of mistakes.

"3......2......1......Battle begins!"

As the electronic sound of the Rotom drone pierced the steamy mist, two red beams simultaneously streaked across the night sky of the city.

"Roar!!!"

Gyarados's massive body crashed onto the steel field, its azure scales gleaming metallically under the searchlight.

Its angry roar made the surrounding steam pipes buzz, giving it a somewhat ferocious appearance.

A brown and white figure leaped out from the white light opposite.

The long-eared rabbit landed lightly on the scorching air pipe. It tilted its head and blinked cutely, but its right paw, hidden behind its back, had already quietly gathered Normal-type energy.

"Roar!"

Gyarados activates its Intimidate ability at the start of the battle, causing Lopunny to glow blue and lower its Attack stat by one level.

"As expected, a high-five surprise attack was hidden..."

Li Chen squinted and noticed this scene.

Big Leaf's afro danced wildly in the heat: "High five surprise attack!"

The long-eared rabbit disappeared from its spot and approached Gyarados in an instant.

Then, it spread its hands out, and a powerful force was released almost as soon as it clasped its hands together!

The high-five attack isn't very powerful, but it almost always puts a Pokémon into a state of flinching!

Chapter 591 Forced Rotation, VS. Duckbill Flame Beast!

The long-eared rabbit's figure suddenly turned into a blur!

"Snapped!"

The crisp sound of the clapping echoed throughout the arena. Before Gyarados could react, it was jolted into a daze by the surprise clapping.

The brown figure tumbling in mid-air was reflected in those wide-open scarlet pupils.

"Lightning Fist!"

Before Big Leaf's roar had even faded, the long-eared rabbit's ears were already spinning rapidly like propellers.

A dazzling burst of lightning erupted from its fist, turning the unique industrial steam of the machine city golden yellow.

Using the momentum of its descent, the long-eared rabbit unleashed a powerful punch crackling with electricity, aiming straight for the menacing horn on Gyarados's forehead!

"boom--!"

In the instant the thunder exploded, countless electric snakes erupted from the metal field surrounding Gyarados.

Gasps of surprise rippled through the stands. In the billowing white mist, the massive body of Gyarados could be vaguely seen writhing in agony, with electricity coursing wildly between its scales.

Li Chen frowned, watching the long-eared rabbit gracefully land back in the scorching pipe. Its seemingly soft ears were now flickering with lingering lightning.

"Roar!"

Gyarados let out a painful roar, its massive body trembling violently from the electricity, and several scarlet scales peeled off, hitting the steel field with a crisp sound.

However, a closer look reveals that its eyes still retain a fierce expression.

The long-eared rabbit's lightning punch, which should have been fatal, seemed to be less powerful than expected.

"The intimidation trait has taken effect..."

Eileen clearly remembered the awe-inspiring roar of Gyarados when it appeared, which even made the gears at the edge of the arena tremble.

Da Ye scratched his signature frizzy red hair, but a smile of excitement appeared on his face: "Interesting!"

He casually wiped the sweat from his brow, while Flareon wagged its tail restlessly at his feet. The eyes of this Sinnoh Elite Four member gleamed with the gleam of a worthy opponent; he was clearly very interested in Li Chen's strength.

A Rotom drone hovered in the center of the arena, its camera capturing Gyarados's expression.

It is defiant, and it is also a sign that a counterattack is about to begin.

"One more time, Thunder Fist!"

Big Leaf's command was swift and decisive, and the long-eared rabbit moved at the sound of his voice.

Its slender hind legs pushed off the scorching steam pipes, and its body shot out like an arrow, its fists once again wrapped in dazzling lightning.

When dealing with a behemoth like Gyarados, rapid, continuous attacks are its specialty.

Li Chen remained motionless until the long-eared rabbit leaped into the air, just as the lightning was about to strike, at which point he issued the command.

"Dance of the Dragon".

His voice was soft, yet it caused Gyarados's crimson pupils to contract sharply.

Its enormous body soared into the air with incredible agility, and the gust of wind it generated made the long-eared rabbit lose its balance.

The lightning from Thunder Punch barely grazed the scales on Gyarados's belly, blasting a scorch mark on the metal surface.

"Roar--!"

As Gyarados ascended into the air, a faint aura emanated from its body, and its massive form traced graceful arcs under the moonlight.

Below, the long-eared rabbit landed lightly on the edge of the scorched crater, its long ears standing up, its eyes fixed on the circling figure in the air.

Steam rose from its feet, making the confrontation resemble a battle between a dragon and a rabbit in an ancient painting.

Big Leaf's afro swayed in the heat as he whistled loudly, "A brilliant counterattack! But..."

"Long-eared rabbit, bounce!"

As soon as Da Ye finished speaking, the long-eared rabbit suddenly exerted force with its slender hind legs. It shot into the sky like lightning, and the steam pipe groaned under the force of the impact.

In the blink of an eye, the petite figure had already approached the Gyarados hovering in mid-air, its ears spinning rapidly like propellers.

A slight smile curved Li Chen's lips: "Dragon Tail."

Gyarados's massive tail suddenly emitted an emerald-like dragon-type glow, drawing a perfect semicircle in the air.

The dragon's tail, accompanied by a whooshing sound, collided with the long-eared rabbit that leaped towards it!

"boom!"

With a deafening explosion, the long-eared rabbit plummeted to the ground like a meteor, leaving a spiderweb-like crack on the steel field.

Before it could even struggle to its feet, the red light from the Poké Ball's recovery enveloped it.

A flash of light indicated a forced replacement, and the robust figure of the Duckbill Flame Beast appeared in the steam.

Its twin-barreled cannons spewed out scorching sparks, and its bell-like eyes were fixed on Gyarados, which had completed its Dragon Dance enhancement in the air.

The thermometer needle on the sidelines shot wildly upwards, forcing even the Rotom drone to take off to avoid it.

"Forced rotation...this is tricky."

Da Ye suddenly grabbed her striking, frizzy red hair, her fingers digging deep into the fluffy strands.

He grimaced and gasped, the veins on his forehead clearly visible under the industrial searchlight.

Everyone could see Da Ye shaking his head exaggeratedly, the oil on his hair flicking out tiny specks of light under the lamp.

Flareon frantically tugged at his trouser leg, but he unconsciously brushed it away with the tip of his boot.

When the Magmar turned around and saw its trainer's expression, it angrily spat out two puffs of black smoke from its cannon-like arms.
