"Would Mai-senpai have a heart attack from being so frightened?"
Seeing his casual demeanor, Mai Sakurajima took a step forward and said fiercely, "Next time you want to do something like this, talk to me first. I didn't even get a chance to properly appreciate the view from the sky earlier."
“Many things lose their surprise or astonishment when explained clearly,” Nomiyama remarked. “After all, the most wonderful stories happen when the unknown is revealed.”
"What if something happens to me?!" Sakurajima Mai glared at him.
"As long as I'm here, nothing will happen to you, senior." Nomiyama thought for a moment and grinned.
Mai Sakurajima then quieted down.
I'm here, you'll be fine.
The junior is serious, because he really has the exaggerated power to do such a thing. It's just a matter of whether he said it casually or deliberately.
"Hey... Mai-senpai, could you please stop stepping on me?"
Nomiyama looked at the little leather shoes that were rubbing against his feet and felt sad for the first time about his sneakers. They had been stepped on so much lately that he felt they wouldn't last much longer.
"I'll buy you a new one," Mai Sakurajima said irritably.
"Another mind reader?" Nomiyama looked at her senior with surprise and doubt.
"Twenty pairs." Mai Sakurajima moved her foot without changing her expression.
Nomiyama stretched out her foot, looking serious: "Senior, please step on them a few more times, otherwise I'll feel guilty when I'm choosing shoes."
Mai Sakurajima sighed, "I knew my junior had masochistic tendencies."
Nomiyama withdrew his foot: "I don't want shoes anymore."
Sakurajima Mai stepped on it: "No! You have to have it!"
Nomiyama didn't dodge; he simply turned his head and looked at the white jade avenue whose view was obscured by the white mist.
There was a misty fog, and people were strolling around.
The next moment, a girl in a white dress stepped out of the mist.
The simple, unadorned dress exudes a sense of elegance.
Her long hair was as white as snow, her eyes were red, and her face was like a serene version of Huang Quan.
Mai Sakurajima noticed her junior's movement, moved her feet aside, and followed his gaze.
In an instant, she recognized the person before her as an immortal.
A fairy completely different from the girl in black from before.
Nomiyama looked at the people a dozen meters away and raised an eyebrow: "I thought you wouldn't come to see me on your own initiative."
The girl smiled gently and said in a soft voice, "There's no use running away from you."
Nomiyama glanced at the conspicuous black shackles on the other person's hands and feet and felt something was off. Was this another person he had imprisoned?
The girl noticed his gaze, but instead of explaining, she turned her gaze to the person next to him and said, "This person is not from our heavenly realm."
"Mm," Nomiyama replied simply, waiting for her to continue.
"This world has its own rules of operation. We celestial beings are merely guardians of these rules and occasional enforcers of them; we have no right to change them."
"You can think of this person's situation as a bug in the world's operation. Although the celestial beings have some power, they are powerless to rewrite the problems that have arisen in the world itself."
Nomiyama listened quietly, then asked, "Is it troublesome?"
“No, it’s not that difficult.” The girl in the white dress looked at him. “If we can find a way, solving this kind of problem is very simple. The key is just the method.”
"as well as."
The girl was silent for a moment, then lowered her eyes: "If the power is strong enough, rewriting this situation would be a piece of cake."
Nomiyama pondered for a moment, then nodded: "Yes, I understand."
He turned around, grabbed his senior's sleeve, and walked towards the edge of the land, seemingly indifferent to the others in the sky, as if he had only come here to ask for some information.
I walked quite a few steps until I stood at the edge of this land.
Nomiyama reached out and, with imperceptible speed, grabbed a clump of soft-shelled turtles, stuffed them into his mouth, bit them open, and swallowed them.
Yeah, so it really was just water...
He turned his head and said casually, "In the short time after I was born, it seemed like there were always some people in the sky watching me."
The girl in the white dress smiled, then raised her sword finger.
As the fog rolled in, several resentful and echoing screams suddenly rang out from the distance of this land.
"Bai Yujing!!!"
“Nomiyama!!!”
"No!! I don't want to die!! Let me go!!"
"Nomiyama, you deserve to die!!"
Nomiyama's expression remained unchanged, but he stopped holding onto his senior's sleeve and instead reached out to pat her back, offering some comfort.
"Don't be afraid, senior, I'm here."
He shifted his gaze to the land below, where, after the sounds faded, meteors were falling to the earth.
The shooting star wasn't a real shooting star, but rather the last traces of those immortals.
Once they land, they will be scattered by the wind, their bodies and souls extinguished.
After glancing at the sensible girl named Bai Yujing, Nomiyama ignored her and turned to look at the clouds below, asking a question.
"Mai-senpai, we're about to go down. Do you want to freefall with me, or fly with the underworld?"
Taking a deep breath, Mai Sakurajima opened her arms: "If you want to take advantage of me, just say so. Why beat around the bush?"
"What do you mean you want to take advantage? I gave you two options," Nomiyama muttered, pulling her closer.
"What about the people of the underworld?" Mai Sakurajima asked irritably.
"It's hanging in the sky," Nomiyama said, equally annoyed.
He took a step forward, pulling the person in his arms straight down into the clouds below.
After he left, the girl named Bai Yujing stopped smiling, looked up expressionlessly at her sister in the sky.
After staring at each other for a while, she turned her head and walked back into the white mist, her clear, cold voice carrying out her words.
"You're probably right about befriending them."
Huang Quan stood in the higher sky, silently looking at his sister, focusing on the black shackles on her hands and feet.
Oh? He imprisoned her too?
......
Mai Sakurajima could feel herself plummeting downwards, but she didn't feel any wind. This was thanks to the help of Yomi, who maintained her safety to a certain extent.
She turned her head to look at the horizon from her junior's arms. The clouds below stretched out like a gray and white land, and the horizon was curved. The sunlight was intense and dazzling, and the horizon showed its proper outline in her eyes at this moment.
The end of the world is not a straight line, but a curved arc.
"Ah ah ah ah ah!!!!"
Mai Sakurajima didn't know what she was thinking. She was just in this state of free fall, and suddenly she wanted to scream.
Nomiyama glanced at the senior in his arms who was shouting, but didn't think much of it. He just looked down at the gray clouds below, which occasionally flashed with light, and pondered some questions.
The energy left behind by the Yellow Springs can protect the senior from some natural disasters or forceful impacts.
But I can't do it on my own; whatever harm I suffer, I have to rely on my body to withstand it.
It looks like thunder down there?
I shouldn't be struck by lightning, right...?
While pondering, Nomiyama, carrying his senior, plummeted straight down into the lightning-streaked dark clouds.
......
"Ha, so this is what a scumbag is like, he deserves to be struck by lightning."
Mai Sakurajima took out her key to open the door, not forgetting to taunt the person behind her.
Nomiyama was dressed in tattered clothes, his tattered garments covered with what looked like burn marks.
There was nothing wrong with his hair, it was just that each strand stood on end. After hearing this, he exhaled a breath that looked like black smoke: "When will you be a little gentler, senior? I was struck by lightning for you."
Upon hearing this, Mai Sakurajima stopped in her tracks, which was about to step into the living room.
She turned around, looked at her junior who had a dark face and tattered clothes, and took a few steps forward.
Nomiyama's expression froze, and he almost instinctively took a step back.
Not right.
Mai Sakurajima quickened her pace, embraced him, and whispered softly in his ear.
"Thank you for your hard work, Fengzao."
Nomiyama froze. He could dodge, he absolutely could dodge, he possessed the strongest body.
But he didn't dodge...
His expression twisted and turned, and he suddenly felt absurd. For him, this situation meant that his body's instincts made a decision before his thoughts could process it, and his body decided not to dodge.
Mai Sakurajima reached out, stroked the back of his head, smiled, and turned to walk into the living room.
"Junior, you should go take a shower and change your clothes first. Your hair is all straight."
As she spoke, she lay down on the sofa, turned on the TV, and ignored the noise in the entryway.
The junior student will definitely be able to dodge it, after all, he's so skilled.
But he didn't dodge.
Ha, that greedy little tail of that scumbag junior.
It's swaying back and forth.
I kind of want to.
catch.
......
In the evening, after taking a shower, Nomiyama smoothed down his spiky hair and sat on the sofa watching TV for a while.
After the show ended, he got up and went to the kitchen to make a cup of milk tea before going back to his room to rest.
"Junior." Mai Sakurajima turned off the TV and called out to him.
"Hmm?" Nomiyama turned around, puzzled.
Mai Sakurajima tilted her head: "Shall we chat?"
Nomiyama glanced at the kitchen, didn't think much of it, and sat back down on the sofa: "Okay."
The air was quiet for a while, until Nomiyama felt something was strange and turned his head to look.
Mai Sakurajima blinked: "Suddenly I don't know what to say."
Nomiyama got up and walked back to the kitchen.
"Don't go!" Mai Sakurajima grabbed him and blurted out.
"Junior, sleep with me."
Nomiyama's face twitched. He turned around and his expression became serious: "Senior, our Service Club has always been about performing, not selling our bodies."
“I didn’t think that way,” Mai Sakurajima shook her head.
She then let go of the other person's hand, curled up on the sofa with her knees drawn up to her chest, and said softly, "I'm just a little scared, after all, even immortals can't help me."
Nomiyama remained silent for a while before finally walking towards the guest room inside the house.
A moment later, he carried two thin blankets to the sofa and tossed one of them out.
Mai Sakurajima took the blanket, turned her head to turn off the light, and couldn't help but smile slightly.
Therefore, the junior is still too inexperienced when facing talented actors.
Nomiyama just watched his senior's actions without saying anything. He quietly spread out the blankets on the sofa, then lay down. His sofa was big enough for two people to lie down comfortably.
