This enclave would soon fall into the hands of the Federation, as the Tau could easily see that the superiority of their own path to greater good, and even the superiority of their species, was surpassed by the Federation.

……

Yuanjian stood atop the enclave's tallest building, looking down at the streets, buildings, and people below, which were gradually becoming completely different from the past. He was filled with conflicting feelings, but he knew clearly that all these changes were irreversible.

Initially, the Helka Federation kept its promise. They didn't send any political officials, didn't establish any direct control institutions, and didn't even openly promote their ideas in the Farsighted Enclave. However, the real influence seeped in silently like an undercurrent, and unknowingly changed everything.

The beginning of all this seemed insignificant: the signing of some scientific research exchange agreements, batches of technical and other support teams from the Federation, and some enclave residents who were willing to learn about the Federation's advanced knowledge. It seemed like just normal and friendly coexistence.

However, this knowledge is not just cold mechanical theory, but a complete way of thinking, so it has a political impact.

This is natural. Technology provides guarantees for political power, and laws and morals change with technological evolution. When a technological system surpassing the Tau Empire enters, a new philosophy will also be born to replace the Tau Empire's Greater Good.

……

Ideas once limited by the Greater Good are now being broken through by the cognitive technologies provided by the Federation. When these technologies are applied in reality, the efficiency and power they demonstrate are far beyond the reach of the Greater Good's merely normal system.

The first to be shaken were the young bureaucrats and elites within the enclave. These people had received a strict standard Tau Empire education since childhood and were once extremely loyal to Farsight himself.

However, when they came into contact with the ideas and technology of the Federation, they discovered a fact that shocked them: the Helka Federation was not a system that relied on blood, status or tradition, but a society that achieved absolute flatness through advanced technology.

Here, everyone has equal opportunities, every race can surpass its physical limits, and every citizen can realize his or her potential in the optimal environment.

Once upon a time, they believed that the Tau Empire's supreme goodness was the most perfect path in the universe and the ultimate truth that all Tau and other cosmic races should follow.

However, when they saw the world of the Federation with their own eyes, and saw how people continued to evolve through genetic optimization, consciousness connection, thought synchronization, and even mechanical prostheses, they began to doubt the perfection of the Greater Good. The people of the Federation could learn faster, create more freely, and govern more efficiently than they did. Does this prove that their system is more advanced?

Once this question arises, it can no longer be suppressed. Once the seed of doubt is planted, it begins to grow wildly. So they actively seek to learn and explore, and then they fall.

……

At first, those who accepted the Federation's evolution and questioned the traditional order of the Greater Good were only some radical scholars and residents of the Shui clan who frequently came into contact with the Federation, but soon this wave swept the entire elite class.

Because as long as they accept the Federation's mind-unification and consciousness-sublimation technology, as well as other advanced skills, they can immediately become outstanding than other conservatives.

After being provided with advanced consciousness enhancement and biochemical transformation free of charge by the Federation, the physical strength, intelligence and reaction speed of the change agents surpassed those of traditional residents of the Tau Empire.

Because they have gained the freedom to exchange ideas, their strategic vision is broader than that of any previous Kinsoul or Elemental Council member.

Therefore, this reformist faction can, in a short period of time, establish a decision-making team that far surpasses the old-school rulers of the enclave and integrate a large amount of resources to increase its influence.

Simply put, they now represent advanced production capabilities.

……

These people began calling themselves the Void Clan, implying a discarding of distinctions and the vain abandoning of past dogmas. These individuals came from various clans, but they had discarded their old caste divisions. The Federation's technology made those distinctions unnecessary; every member's abilities and talents were the same. So what if the Fire Clan embroidered while the Qi Clan cultivated the land?

They call this idea of establishing an absolutely flat society where everyone is like a dragon the "Way of Vacuum". Because of the vacuum, all wonderful things can be born. By transcending obsessions, new insights can be gained.

Eventually, members of this new faction, calling themselves the Hollow Clan, began to replace the old enclave officials in large numbers, occupying the elite ranks and gaining power at all levels of the shogunate.

Farsight wanted to curb this trend, but he found that he could not stop it at all, because these clanless people were more powerful than the traditional Fire Clan warriors and knew how to manage better than the older generation of Water Clan and Earth Clan. They rose rapidly in various fields and eventually became the dominant force in the enclave.

Although Farsight still held nominal power, he could clearly see that his power was slipping away, that his shogunate was only a facade, and that real power had fallen into the hands of new factions that worked closely with the Federation.

He had considered suppressing the situation with force, but that would only lower the shogunate's prestige and defeat the purpose of the heroes of Mugurus Bay coming here in the first place.

Ultimately, Farsight realized that no amount of his actions could reverse the course of history, and that perhaps the Confederacy's path was indeed the next stage in the Greater Good. If he continued to resist, his enclave would ultimately collapse in a civil war, and his name would be recorded in future history as an unrepentant loser.

He has no choice but to actively embrace this change rather than being passively eliminated by history.

……

After figuring it out, Farsight actually felt a little relieved. After so many years, he seemed to understand the conservative Ethers. Being a ruler is not that easy.

It's not that promoting people solely on the merits is the best outcome, because that means there will always be someone more talented than you. The hero of Mugurus Bay finally reached a point where he felt his talents were insufficient and his mind was narrow.

However, he corrected himself quickly, and with foresight, he positioned himself as the leader of a new transformation to maintain his last hold on power. He publicly announced that the enclave would officially enter a reform phase, and that he would personally lead this transformation.

He readjusted his position, no longer emphasizing superstitious absolute loyalty to the Greater Good, but trying to preserve the cultural traditions of the Tau people as much as possible while absorbing the advanced ideas and technologies of the Federation. He tried to make himself a symbol of reform rather than an obstacle to conservatism.

However, Foresight knew that this power was only temporary. This was no longer the independent kingdom of the past, but a new society.

When this new order is fully formed, the original enclave shogunate will be abandoned and its position will be completely replaced. In other words, even if the Federation laughs and admits that it was the Tau who replaced them, what does it matter?

In this advanced social system that represents the future, boundaries between species, regimes, and classes are no longer necessary. There are only citizens of this interstellar public society.

This is the true genius of the Federation: they never resorted to force, yet completely transformed the political ecology of the entire enclave. They didn't send a single soldier, yet they gradually made farsighted rule a thing of the past.

Soon after, Farsight stood in the halls of the Shogunate, looking out over the warriors who had once been loyal to him. They were still Tau, but not the old kind.

He sighed, knowing that the legend of individual heroes in his era had come to an end. But at the same time, he also felt a sense of comfort, at least his people would usher in a brighter future.

The only thing that made him feel a little bit of evil amusement was that he was wondering whether he would be able to meet his equally out-of-date mentor Anwa at the federal retirement center for retired cadres one day.

Unfortunately, he could not achieve his wish, as the Supreme Ether Anwa was assassinated by the Empire not long ago.

128

Chapter 128: Distant stars reconnect between galaxies.

While the Tau's Third Sky Expansion and the Empire were locked in a fierce struggle, and even the news broke that the Great Mentor of Ethereal was assassinated by the Callidus assassins, the Federation was currently enjoying a peaceful life.

With the establishment of a series of expansionist military states, the governors of the federal headquarters successfully sat in the base camp and watched the front line advance. With eight hundred princes advancing in multiple directions, the territory of the federation was expanding every day. Those small enemies were no longer worthy of being put on our table.

The people of Helka finally had enough time to resume production and exploration.

The first is the insight into nanotechnology and special facilities called L-gates. Its breakthrough is an important scientific research project that deserves deep attention from the Federation.

Through the knowledge we gained from the Eldar, we already have a certain understanding of the Webway, an extra-dimensional transportation system. It comes from the legendary ancient saints of the super-ancient god-level civilization, also known as the "Oldest Ones" in the mouths of space rats, but later it was attributed to the Eldar Empire, so it collapsed unsurprisingly.

The Webway, sometimes called the Labyrinth Dimension, is not a real dimension at all. It is described as an incredibly complex network of thoroughfares, narrow corridors, winding, shimmering tunnels, and mysterious, bizarre linear passages that stretch across the veil between reality and the Warp.

But these metaphorical descriptions are only crude and fail to capture the ineffable nature of the Webway, a transdimensional construct.

Its definition comes from the fact that it sits between the real world and the roiling storms of the Warp, like a crack in a mirror, or the fabric of a veil covering a foul object.

The ancient Eldar discovered that it was possible to survive on its shining surface and travel along the Veil. Although the Webway has undergone extreme changes since the height of the Eldar Empire, ravaged by war and disaster, they still mastered the original Webway.

Traveling between dimensions is a skill that comes with risks, but the Eldar do not hesitate to use this remarkable skill, although they often use it for some inexplicable purposes.

This series of mysterious dimensional conduits, stretching between the subspace and reality, allows fleets to travel faster than the speed of light, but only if they can find the correct route through the complex web of dead ends, misleading coordinates, and dangerous extra-dimensional creatures.

The past of the universe was still so crazy. Such advanced equipment was turned into a messy garbage dump by successive cosmic overlords who came from mental hospitals.

The Federation once tried to crack this mysterious dimensional pipeline system to gain insights into new Ftl methods as a useful supplement to the dark matter engine and local superluminal accelerator, but progress has not been smooth.

Due to the erosion of the Warp, this webway system has been severely deformed and distorted, and some parts have even collapsed permanently. Moreover, we can say that it has "its own consciousness". If the exploration team is not focused, it will be thrown into a dangerous fork in the road, or even lost forever.

Initially, the Federation was at a loss as to how to stabilize a system that was difficult to observe. Even the Spiritual Inspiration could not help us much, because the Webway itself had the function of repelling interference from warp entities.

Ultimately, a remarkable encounter provides us with new insights into Stargate technology and Webway navigation.

……

The nanorobots obtained during the previous battle with the Necron Dynasty were found to be engraved with some unique information. After further analysis, we found that these nanorobots seemed to be connected in parallel with the signals of a huge nanomechanical node.

We've found that node. In a black hole system, a massive structure has appeared. It appears to be a massive Webway portal generator, but it's nothing like the Eldar architecture or similar Necrons. Its unique energy signal pulses triggered a sensory response in the nanobots of other regions, ultimately leading us here.

It is currently out of service, and scientists from the Federation are eager to know where it leads to, so they immediately began further research on this amazing device.

This facility was eventually named the L-Gate, a portal to a special subspace tunnel that was distinct from the usual Webway system. Analysis of its materials revealed that this portal was constructed by tiny nanorobots unlike anything we've ever seen.

Unlike previous Webway portals, this one has been significantly altered and disconnected from the normal Webway system. It now leads only to a strange star region outside our own galaxy, which our astronomers call the L-Cluster.

While this portal has a faint power signature, it's locked by some maintenance mechanism and cannot be activated. Unless we can somehow deactivate the maintenance mechanism, we won't be able to reach the L-Cluster.

After research, the Chief Field Research Director believes that this maintenance mechanism requires the injection of seven keys to unlock it. We can conduct an exhaustive search in our own experimental center to obtain relevant knowledge, or track the location of other keys through the mysterious resonance that appeared before, and then seize them.

The answer is obviously to adopt two strategies simultaneously. The scientific research project to search for the key to the L-star gate insight was immediately approved, and the funding and agreements with relevant military units were approved very readily.

We strongly feel a calling, this bridge to distant stars will bring us important rewards, so we must work hard for it. Some scientists joke that they are now like "suitors who search every mall to find the right gift for their lover."

……

Although the Federation has cracked multiple keys in its own research laboratories, it is still a huge challenge for the Federation to completely analyze all the keys in a short period of time relying solely on its own scientific research capabilities.

So, in addition to scientists tirelessly conducting computational simulations and experiments, the Federation's diplomatic and intelligence systems also took action. Their goal was to seek more information about the L-Gate Key from other forces in the galaxy. Whether it was relics, collections, or secret documents forgotten in some corner, any possible clue was worth pursuing.

During a series of investigations, the federal intelligence agency learned of a unique force: the Curator City-State. These Curators are not a single race, but are composed of survivors of multiple alien civilizations.

What they have in common is that they have all suffered from the invasion of extradimensional entities. After witnessing the horror of psionic corrupted entities, they chose to retreat and build secret shelters in the universe to preserve uncontaminated knowledge and prevent them from being destroyed or distorted by evil forces.

The curators have established one highly secretive space orbital station after another in various galaxies of the Milky Way. Each orbital living station is a huge knowledge storage center that contains immeasurable ancient information.

However, due to the constant threat from extradimensional forces, the covetousness of the Mechanicus, the looting of malicious galactic forces and other reasons, the number of curators' base stations is gradually decreasing, and they are losing the holy land of their collection bit by bit.

Federation diplomats soon contacted the curators, stating their firm stance against Warp entities and anti-humane galactic civilizations, and expressed their desire to trade for their collection of L-gate keys.

After a series of negotiations, the Curator City-State finally agreed to the Federation's request. They were willing to hand over the L-Gate key, but this was not a simple gift, but a formal transaction, requiring the Federation to provide an equivalent return.

Federal diplomats were not surprised by this. After all, while curators valued knowledge, they also needed resources to maintain their operations.

During the exchange, the curators showed great interest in the Federation's technological system. In particular, they were surprised to find that the Federation's technological development was almost completely unaffected by the extra-dimensional corrupted psychic power, and expressed sincere praise.

Despite this, the curators did not reduce the price they asked for. They still strictly followed the principle of roughly equal exchange and requested a large amount of rare resources and technical information from the Federation.

However, while delivering the key, the curators also issued a warning to the Federation. They pointed out that in the spiritual dimension, an extradimensional force known as the "Malign Art" was attempting to poison the technological system of the entire galaxy. Their goal was to completely distort normal scientific development and turn the normal knowledge workers of the entire universe into slaves of the warp.

Humanity has been too closely associated with malicious technology, leading to terrible accidents. The few words from the curators about the dark technological age are enough to make people shudder. Even with artificial moral codes, sometimes it is better to have some morality.

Cooperation with the Curator City-State can be said to be a win-win situation. The Federation agrees to establish a base in the Curator system and provide them with political and military protection. The Curator will provide us with insights into the fallen empires in the galaxy and their technological heritage from time to time.

The curators believe that the Federation may be the only force capable of ending the threat of the malevolent arts. They hope that the Federation will one day completely eliminate these dangerous existences and bring a new, young era of enlightenment to the galaxy.

They cling to the legacy of the past, hoping to one day find the person who will gloriously lead the future.

……

After obtaining some of the L-Gate keys from the Curator, the Federation still lacks clues to the final key.

This time, the intelligence agency decided to seek help from "brothers on the road" and look for clues from the interstellar black market and spy networks.

Over the years, as the Federation grew stronger and more influential throughout the galaxy, some opportunistic and profit-seeking forces inevitably came after the people of Helka.

For example, many Rogue Traders of the Empire Dynasty, which were once our enemies, began to secretly establish an unstable diplomatic relationship with the Federation based entirely on interests.

The Federation will provide these Rogue Traders with security, valuable firepower, and even armed support. The Rogue Traders will search the galaxy for the resources we want according to the Federation's requirements, and lead the "mercenaries" we provide, that is, the Federation's brave intelligence workers, to go out and see other parts of the world.

The farthest intelligence base station has been driven to the Calixis star region on the other side of the galaxy by wandering traders. It is said that there are some very interesting discoveries there, so they are applying for higher independent processing authority and preparing to give the Federation headquarters a big surprise.

After further investigation, the intelligence agency discovered an interesting piece of information on the interstellar black market: some Imperial Rogue Traders seemed to have possessed some advanced equipment with unique technological systems, and these Rogue Traders were closely related to a mysterious alien race called Space Apes.

The Space Apes are a unique alien race, similar in appearance to apes but possessing incredible technological talent. They are believed to be creatures created by an ancient race, another artificial species from the ancient era of the universe.

Their intelligence does not rely on learning, but on instinct. Just like humans breathe naturally, they can intuitively understand any mechanical device and modify it.

This ability makes them some of the most enigmatic technologists in the galaxy, but they don't form organized societies, instead wandering in small groups capable of crafting anything they desire given enough materials.

The Federation immediately took action and brought a group of space monkeys to the scientific research center through the channels of the Rogue Traders. They showed them the structure of the L-Gate Key, hoping that they could imitate it.

The program was nicknamed "Monkeys and Typewriters" because, in a way, the apes' intelligence really did seem to be instinctively "typing out" complex scientific knowledge.

The space monkeys showed great interest in the structure of the L-Gate Key. They began to work in the laboratory, using advanced materials provided by the Federation to continuously make fine adjustments and experiments.

Although no one could fully understand how they thought, in a short period of time they had managed to replicate the keys and even optimize them in some aspects.

When the space monkeys delivered the counterfeit key, the Federation gave them and the Rogue Trader who brought them a generous reward, including a large amount of treasure and the right to move freely.

The monkeys happily left the experimental center with their reward, and the Federation successfully completed the collection of the key.

Now, all seven keys to the L-Gate have been obtained. This mysterious bridge to the distant stars is finally about to open.

The Federation's scientists and explorers are ready, waiting on the other side of the L-Gate.

129

Chapter 129: Reappearance of the Leaf that Blinded Denu's Fall.

"Obviously, since the mod is enabled, don't expect the L-gate to trigger other events."

……

When the Federation's exploration fleet passed through the L-Gate, the crew immediately noticed its distinct differences from the traditional Webway.

There were no uncomfortable distorted scenes, no interference from psychic turbulence, and no suddenly deformed maze-like passages.

Instead, they entered a straight, stable, and precisely calculated hyperspace tunnel.

This is what this kind of high-tech equipment should look like: strict, orderly and mechanically deterministic.

Scientists quickly analyzed that the reason why the L-gate channel is so stable is that its structure is more closely connected with the real universe, reducing the interference of subspace.

This technology seems to use a group of ultra-high-precision nanomachines to fix the hyperspace tube on a certain stable dimensional interface, making it more similar to the physical laws of the real universe at the physical and energy levels, thus making this hyperspace tunnel extremely precise and controllable.
