"Kill people. Use this curse bead to kill ten thousand people."

"The life of a living person?"

Toyokawa Seikao widened his eyes and looked at Xiangzi in disbelief, "You want me to kill someone?"

"Just ten thousand insignificant people,"

Xiangzi said lightly, "Compared to your wife's life, what are their lives worth?"

Toyokawa Kiyoshige was caught in a fierce struggle. He longed for his wife to return, but he couldn't bring himself to kill for that purpose. He clutched the bead tightly in both hands, veins bulging on the backs of his hands, and his heart felt like it was being torn apart by pain.

"I...I can't..."

Fengchuan Qingjiao uttered a few words with difficulty, his tone full of fear and resistance.

Xiangzi stood up without mercy and kicked Fengchuan Qinggao in the abdomen with her high heels.

The intense pain made Fengchuan Qingjiao's eyes go black, and the acid in his stomach surged up again. He curled up on the ground, like a squashed insect, wailing in pain.

But then, the tip of the high heels touched his chin, grinding it gently.

Slender ankles, distinct bones, skin whiter than snow. Black stockings tightly wrapped around the calves, outlining the graceful curves... This should have been a beautiful work of art, but now it had become a weapon.

Xiangzi looked down at him condescendingly, the contempt in his eyes like a sharp blade, cutting his self-esteem bit by bit.

"A man as incompetent as you is actually my father...it's really disappointing."

Toyokawa Kiyoshi raised his head with great effort. In his blurred vision, Xiangzi's face floated above him like a ghost.

"Xiangzi...you..."

He opened his mouth with difficulty, but could not utter a complete sentence.

In contrast, his brain gradually became clear.

What resurrection... That's simply impossible...

And... Xiangzi seems very... very abnormal today...

"Resurrection... that's just bullshit..."

Fengchuan Qingcao struggled to squeeze these words out from between his teeth, his stomach churning and his mouth filled with the bitter taste of bile. The fog of alcohol gradually dissipated, replaced by the cold reality and a strong sense of humiliation.

Xiangzi, his daughter, actually stepped on his face with her high heels, treating him like a maggot. This made him unbelievable, but also made him sober up.

He struggled to get up, one hand on the wall, the other hand covering his abdomen, gasping for breath in pain. Is this girl with cold eyes in front of him really the well-behaved and sensible Xiangzi in his memory?

"You are not Toyokawa Shoko, who are you...who are you?"

"I am Oblivionis."

Toyokawa Shoko answered.

“Neither above nor below.”

"You are not... you are not Xiangzi..."

Fengchuan Qingjiao stumbled back, his stomach cramping, and he held on to the wall, barely able to stand. Fear was like an icy snake, coiling around his heart, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.

Toyokawa Kiyoshi stared intently at Xiangzi, trying to find a trace of familiarity in her face, a hint of the tenderness and innocence that belonged to his daughter. But there was nothing, nothing at all. Only indifference and a chilling strangeness. He suddenly realized that the person standing before him was no longer the daughter he remembered.

Fear overwhelmed doubt, and the instinct for survival made him turn and run. He stumbled out of the room and through the dim corridor, Xiangzi's cold laughter echoing in his ears, like a death spell, chasing him closely. He ran desperately, as if some terrifying monster was chasing him.

He rushed out of the house and plunged into the late-night streets. The cold wind brushed against his cheeks, sobering him up a bit and calming the churning in his stomach. The dim light from the street lamps cast a long shadow on the empty streets, making him look particularly lonely.

"Sir, what are you doing here so late?"

A patrolling policeman came over with a hint of caution in his tone.

Fengchuan Qingcao was about to open his mouth to explain when he suddenly saw a faint blue flame shoot up from the patrolman's uniform. The flame was strange and seductive, like phosphorescent fire from hell, with a hint of icy coldness. The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the patrolman's entire body in the blink of an eye.

The patrolman let out a shrill scream, his body shaking violently. He desperately waved his arms, trying to extinguish the flames, but to no avail. The flames greedily licked his flesh, making crackling sounds. His struggles grew weaker, and he finally collapsed to the ground, twitching in pain.

Fengchuan Qinggao was so frightened that he stood there blankly, his legs feeling as heavy as if they were filled with lead and he couldn't move.

The nightmarish flames leaped and rolled over him until they died out, leaving behind a charred corpse that emitted a sickening burnt stench.

"That is the power of the cursed bead... Do you know the farewell clapper, Father?"

Behind Qinggao, the voice of Toyokawa Shoko came like a shadow.

Fengchuan Qingkou's lungs heaved violently like a broken bellows, his legs moved mechanically, and his heart beat wildly in his chest. He didn't dare look back, for he knew "Xiangzi" was right behind him, and that strange blue flame was like a thorn in his flesh, lingering.

"The farewell clapper... Do you know, Father?"

Xiangzi's voice was light, but it penetrated his ears like a magic sound. "The night watchman was on patrol, knocking on the clapper and shouting, 'Be careful with the candles.' Suddenly, the clapper sounded behind him, one after another, very clear. He thought it was his companion, turned around to look, but there was no one there..."

Qinggao ran even faster, his stomach churning and nearly vomiting. Xiangzi's voice continued to echo in his ears, "Those aren't companions...that's resentment...the resentment of those souls who were consumed by the fire, yet no one knows about them, no one mourns them...they wander the night, seeking revenge..."

"Shut up! Shut up!"

Qing Gao roared hoarsely. He didn't want to listen, he didn't dare to listen. He just wanted to survive and escape this nightmare.

"As long as you carry anything that can be ignited... you will be targeted..."

Xiangzi chuckled, with a hint of teasing in his tone, "Matches, lighters, even... cigarettes..."

Qing Gao subconsciously felt his pocket, which contained his usual cigarettes. He hurriedly took them out, threw them hard on the ground, and crushed them with his foot.

"It's no use, father,"

Xiangzi's voice seemed to whisper in his ear, "The power of the curse beads has already targeted you... You can't escape..."

Despair surged into his heart like a tide, and Qinggao stumbled and almost fell. At this moment, he saw a 24-hour convenience store sign not far ahead, emitting a faint light, like a lamp of hope in the darkness.

He stumbled towards the dimly lit convenience store. The light from the convenience store was like a single beacon in the darkness, guiding him away from the invisible terror behind him. His legs felt as heavy as lead, each step draining his strength. He stumbled, almost tumbling, as he scrambled towards the transparent glass door. A single thought crossed his mind: if he could hide inside, there might still be a glimmer of hope. If he could just find his place among the crowd, he could escape. If only...

He flung open the door of the convenience store and stumbled in. The glaring light made him a little uncomfortable, and he squinted his eyes to see a young clerk standing behind the cash register.

"Help! Help!"

Qinggao shouted incoherently, "Outside... there's someone outside..."

The young clerk was flipping through a magazine boredly. When he heard Qinggao's cry for help, he raised his head and looked at the stranger who suddenly broke in with a blank face, his eyes full of confusion.

He opened his mouth slightly, as if about to ask what was happening, but before he could utter a single word, a ball of crimson flames suddenly erupted from him, engulfing him in a blazing inferno. The sudden, excruciating pain caused him to scream in agony. He instinctively flailed his arms, scrambling frantically across the small convenience store, crashing into things and sending merchandise scattering across the shelves with a crackling sound. Chips, candy, and drinks spilled across the floor, a scene shimmering in the firelight. The convenience store's automatic fire extinguisher, sensing the blaze, began spraying white mist in an attempt to extinguish the flames. However, the eerie red flames remained unaffected, burning even more fiercely. Thick smoke quickly filled the air, a pungent odor filling the air. The store clerk writhed in agony amidst the flames, emitting a blood-curdling wail.

Qing Gao slumped to the ground, his eyes fixed on the burning shelves. The air was filled with the smell of burning, mixed with the sickening aroma of meat. White mist sprayed feebly, unable to extinguish the eerie red flames. The shop assistant's screams had faded, leaving only the crackling of the flames, echoing in his ears like the whispers of a demon.

He mechanically fumbled for a pack of cigarettes from the ground and tried to light it with trembling hands, but then he remembered Xiangzi's words and suddenly threw the cigarettes and lighter away. Fear was like an icy poisonous snake, tightly wrapped around his heart, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.

"Well done, Father."

Xiangzi's voice rang out again, "As long as you keep killing like this, you will be able to revive your wife soon..."

Qing Gao suddenly raised his head, his eyes filled with fear and despair.

"No...it wasn't me...I didn't kill him..."

He muttered incoherently, as if trying to convince himself, or as if begging for Xiangzi's forgiveness.

"Please let me go, Xiangzi... I... I... I don't want to do this kind of thing..."

"Your words and actions are completely contradictory, Father."

Toyokawa Shoko whispered, "You cursed them, you've done it."

Qinggao stumbled out of the convenience store, smoke and flames swirling behind him like a ravenous beast devouring everything. He didn't dare look back. His ears were buzzing, his stomach churning, but he couldn't vomit anything. He could only retch and stumble along the empty street. The dim light of the street lamps swirled around him, stretching his figure like a twisted monster. He wanted to call the police, the phone in his pocket, but he didn't dare. He was afraid that the police who came to his rescue would be the next to be consumed by the flames.

He wanted to escape...

But where can he escape to?

"Father, you should be awake by now, right?"

Before he knew it, Toyokawa Shoko appeared in front of Qing Gao again.

She changed her clothes and wore a black dress, a mask on her face, and a charming smile.

"You've already killed two people. Killing ten thousand more wouldn't be a big deal, right?"

Chapter 29: Deng and Hakuno.

Hakuno gently hugged Takamatsu Deng from behind, rested his chin on her shoulder, and stared at the screen intently.

"Isn't this Xiangzi a bit OOC?"

Hakuno asked softly, "I don't think Xiangzi would do this to his own father, right?"

From Hakuno's perspective, Deng was manipulating Xiangzi, and taking such action against Xiangzi's father was somewhat... subtle.

Not that this is bad.

However, for Bai Ye, this kind of gameplay is... quite subtle.

"I think we should maintain the character's personality, right?"

Hakuno continued.

In the previous simulations, Bai Ye still maintained the personalities of each character... Well, the two times with Xingge and Yili don't count, he didn't control them, so it's not his fault that those two times were not restored.

Deng didn't look back, but continued to operate the game, "There's no need to deliberately maintain a character. I'm not Xiangzi, and you're not Yili... We're just us."

Bai Ye snorted twice more, "So, choosing these people as curse masters is also your personality?"

That's right.

Unlike Bai Ye, who hardly interfered with the actions of other characters in the simulation, Deng carefully arranged who would obtain the curse beads.

Those who think that the mantra beads "appear naturally in their hands" are mistaken.

They were chosen by the lamp, or rather, by Takamatsu Shoko.

“Why did you choose these people?”

Hakuno put his ear to the corner of Deng's mouth. "Me, Xiangzi's father, Professor Okabe, and Riki—I can understand the casting of these four...but what about Kamiki Hikaru and Narumiya Akito? And there's a curse bead, who has it?"

Let’s not talk about Bai Ye himself for now.

Xiangzi’s father, because Xiangzi is a simulation character, and Deng and Xiangzi have a good relationship.

Li Xi is a member of Deng's band, and Bai Ye would also choose her if she were in his place.

According to Okabe Rintaro, Okabe and Hakuno actually had a pretty good relationship. If Hakuno hadn't forgotten that Mayuri was dead - to be more precise, Hakuno thought that Mayuri might have gone abroad to the United States and mixed up with people from Makise Kurisu's group - then Hakuno would have found a way to resurrect Mayuri Child's Name long ago.

"It's not just because of you,"

Deng seemed to understand Hakuno's thoughts, "Shiina Mayuri is Riki's cousin."

"Huh? There's this connection?"

Shirano had no idea that Shiina was a relatively common surname, with approximately 3 people in Japan. While not common, it wasn't as if every Shiina surname was a relative.

If that's the case, then it's understandable why Professor Okabe was chosen...

So what about the remaining two people?

"Shenmu Guang will become the villain of "15 Years of Lies" in the future,"

Deng explained step by step, "After that, he killed the male protagonist of the movie, who was also his son."

"……so what?"

Bai Ye was a little confused.

"So I will give him the mantra beads."

The lamp said.

Bai Ye was a little confused.

But, um, okay.

The light is the best thing about it.

"What about Narumiya Akito?"

Bai Ye asked again, "What's the reason for choosing him?"

"Because Naruhyo Akito is a serial killer's serial killer, I chose him."

Deng explained.

"I understand. A serial killer who kills serial killers is so handsome."
