Void Beetle Evolution Guide

On
Once she loses the Wild Hunt, she'll revert to that little girl trembling in the void, where even survival is a luxury. (The last two lines are nonsensical and likely machine-generated gibberish.)
A churning sensation rose in her stomach—a physical nausea, but also a psychological breakdown. Countless thoughts raced through her mind, pushing her to the brink of madness. But now, she had to focus all her attention on this very moment.
She could no longer be afraid. Pierre was the embodiment of hatred, a personality born from cruel extermination. No matter what the other party was going to do, she could not give up resisting.
As if sensing the indomitable spirit within her, the runic foundation stone within Kai'Sa suddenly lit up, and a vibrant green light burst forth from her flesh. That light, brimming with vitality, clashed sharply with the deathly stillness of the pale purple sea, instantly dispelling some of the chill that lingered around her.
From the wound on her chest where Bervis had pierced her, a branch made of light sprouted out of thin air. The branch was slender yet resilient, spiraling upwards along the tips of her wings, binding Bervis's forelimbs like a vine; and the bleeding wound on her lower abdomen also healed instantly under the emerald light.
The sudden turn of events caused Bervis's intention to attack Kasha's defensive line to pause for a moment. Her eyebrowless brows furrowed, and she tried to secrete liquid energy to corrode the branch in her hand. However, the small branch contained a vast amount of life energy, which could completely negate any amount of fluid she secreted.
Kai'Sa got a moment's respite, and at the same time, the Wild Hunt's voice resurfaced in her locked mind.
"Kasha! Kaisha! Quick! Get back on your feet!"
"Wild Hunt...is that you?"
Her unfocused pupils sharpened, as if she had found her anchor. At this moment, nothing could bring Kai'Sa more peace of mind than hearing the Wild Hunt's voice again.
"Why do you ask that?" Wild Hunt's voice paused for a moment. "You don't suspect I'm Pierce in disguise, do you?"
“No, no… I’m worried that Bervis might erase my memories of you and then use them to do something.” Kasha denied it repeatedly, feeling guilty for not keeping her guard up. Leaking crucial information would make her feel like she had betrayed the Wild Hunt.
“That was indeed her goal. Bervis wanted to convert me. Fortunately, the divine power I absorbed from the Void Deformed Fetus elevated my status. Otherwise, she could have annihilated me with a single thought, and we would never have been allowed to struggle until now.”
“After discovering that your mind was blocked by Bervis, I relaxed my suppression of the runes, and you seized the opportunity to activate the runes’ protection. As soon as Bervis’s blockade of you was lifted, I immediately returned to your mind, which is why I can talk to you here now.”
"Thank goodness."
Kai'Sa couldn't even imagine the consequences of the Wild Hunt going out of control. When even her closest Void Skin betrayed her, her entire entourage would be instantly wiped out.
The situation just now was extremely dangerous, but fortunately, Wild Hunt maintained his composure and even helped her. The two rushed towards each other, which prevented Bervis from succeeding.
"What...what should we do now?" Kasha asked anxiously.
“I’m also looking for her weaknesses, but I’ll have others come to support you. You need to find a way to use the power of the runes to fight against Bervis and stall her for as long as possible to buy time.”
Chapter 707 Gods
On
The exchange of consciousness happened in an instant, and the timely appearance of the Wild Hunt allowed Kai'Sa's devastated spirit to stabilize again.
Although this clash of wills lasted only a brief moment in reality, the situation had actually become so critical that the Wild Hunt even considered revealing himself to launch a sneak attack.
This is an extremely irrational and risky move. If it succeeds, it may not break Bervis's mental intrusion on Kasha; if it fails, he will be captured by Bervis and his entire plan will be ruined.
Weighing the pros and cons, leaving her deep within Kai'Sa's consciousness to strengthen her defenses seems to be the safest option at the moment. While the Wild Hunt can't activate the runes, he can release his suppression of them, making it easier for Kai'Sa to resonate with them and thus gain the power to fight against Bervis. (The last sentence appears to be unrelated and possibly spam.)
As for how to find a breakthrough, Wild Hunt didn't have a good solution for the time being. Bervis's powerful will and physique, forged by devouring millions of lives, made her as impenetrable as an iron plate, with no weaknesses to be found on her body.
The Void Queen's physique is the most powerful the Wild Hunt has ever seen. A living being that constitutes its own kingdom, condensed to human size, her body density is likely far greater than even the extraterrestrial meteorite iron used to forge Darkin weapons. Physical attacks are extremely difficult to inflict effective damage on her, and as a Void being, she is also immune to the corrosive effects of Void energy, making her virtually unassailable.
And her mental power was even more monstrous. How fast can a person's mind work? How fast can their reaction speed be? This monster integrated the minds of millions... what kind of mental power would she possess? In the blink of an eye—even the most cunning strategist could only barely come up with a rough idea, yet countless possibilities had already swept through Piervis's mind.
What can you do when your opponent has thousands of answers and you only have one solution?
Perhaps her divine status can provide some clues, but how to verify the power of that divine status is another big problem.
It's unrealistic to try to bite off a piece of her flesh or to detach a part of myself and invade her body.
The only remaining option is to use the rune bomb. However, given Bervis's current condition, the Wild Hunt doubts whether the rune bomb can kill her.
Just when the Wild Hunt was at his wits' end, he suddenly sensed that Bervis was ruthlessly stripping him of his authority.
With a single, ruthless command, his Void Remoras instantly went out of control, merging with the enemy's swarm and becoming part of the pale purple sea, turning against their own kind to launch a counterattack. Even his prized Nest Mothers defected, becoming part of the billions of Pylvis insects in their swarm.
The Nest Mother's defection had a huge impact on the main battlefield, and Azir was already cursing loudly. These monsters, which he thought were reinforcements, attacked from above without warning, without even the Sun Disk detecting their intentions, and suddenly smashed his war machine to pieces.
Driven to desperation, Azir was forced to descend into the desert and build a sand platform. He even suspected he had been tricked into coming to the Purple Sea to be killed. It took Katarina a lot of persuasion to finally get him to put aside his suspicions and hostility and continue cooperating with the enemy.
Similarly, Lissandra's army of enslaved demons was also forcibly taken by Bervis. Without the enslaved demons guarding the passage, the swarm of insects from underground surged to the surface. The two dragons were quickly overwhelmed again and were forced to retreat back to the Royal Palace.
Some were angry, some were terrified... but without exception, everyone was asking what had happened to the Wild Hunt. However, just defending against Bervis's invasion had already exhausted all his energy.
Even if he was a mentally powerful transmigrator, his willpower barrier was ultimately just a thin wall built by one person alone. Meanwhile, Bervis integrated a million thoughts; with such a vast difference in strength, how could he possibly defend that wall by himself?
"Damn it!" Wild Hunt cursed inwardly. If he had also condensed his own unique divine spark, he would never be in such a passive position.
……
"Why can't it be converted? Where is the problem?" Piervis was well aware of the threat that his casual attempt had posed to that rabble.
Piervis never gave up on transforming Kai'Sa's Void Armor. She knew perfectly well that the girl before her was just an ordinary mortal, without magical talent or extraordinary bloodline. She had only gotten this far thanks to the support of this parasitic shell. And if she could unlock the secrets of the armor, she could experience a leap in growth… becoming the supreme Mother Goddess of Runeterra.
She is both the master of destruction and the master of creation; she is the end of all things, the destination of everything; all rivers begin to flow from her, the tide of nothingness sways in her veins, extending into magnificent kingdoms.
However, for some reason, this armor was able to disobey the Queen's orders.
The Queen thought there was something wrong with her, so she tried to manipulate the Nest Mother and control the slave demons. She succeeded; those mindless, illusory creations submitted to her will effortlessly. Only this thin armor refused to submit to her.
Normally, just getting close to such a low-level void creation would make one tremble with fear.
Piervis analyzed many things, and she felt that the most likely explanation was that the Wild Hunt had also obtained godhood and become an existence comparable to her... but she did not sense any divine power from it, which was puzzling.
She could clearly sense that the other party's divine nature was flawed, but compared to an unawakened embryo, she felt that Wild Hunt was more like an empty shell covered in a placenta at this moment.
Bervis knew very little about the realm of the gods. Because she had never devoured a true god, and gods had never appeared among the Void Evils, she could only deduce it through the shallow understanding of mortals.
But the more uncontrollable the skin nail became, the more it proved to possess extraordinary power, making her desire for it even stronger.
Once she has completely transformed this shell into her own, she will be one step closer to achieving her ultimate goal—becoming the first true god in the void!
Thinking of this, a fierce glint flashed in Bervis's pseudo-eyes, and he poured more will and strength into the tips of his wings. The excruciating pain caused Kasha to scream hysterically, and her cries echoed throughout the entire Pale Purple Sea.
The Empress seemed to want to shred Kai'Sa's chest, tear open a space inside and stuff herself inside, or kill her and skin her alive, peeling off her Void Armor along with her human skin... Whatever the outcome, Bervis always had a way.
However, things didn't go as planned. She discovered that the branches growing from Kasha's chest not only couldn't be corroded away, but had even firmly gripped her wingtips, making it impossible for her to pull them out.
Seemingly sensing Bervis's predicament, Kasha, who had been lifted off the ground by the Queen's wingtip piercing her chest, laughed loudly despite the pain from her wound, and tried to lift her head back to face the Queen's majesty.
Chapter 708 Standoff
Kassa never imagined she would be facing off against Bervis in this situation.
At that moment, the Queen's wingtip pierced her chest, its sharp edge cutting through her heart and lungs, lifting her into the air like a rag doll. Even she herself admired herself for being able to speak despite being so badly injured.
"After leaving the Pale Purple Sea, I've been thinking... Why should I, a mere girl, be tasked with dealing with the Watcher, whom even you couldn't handle? Do you really believe in such a one-in-a-million possibility? Aren't you afraid that if I fail, I'll release the Watcher from its prison, let time run its course, and let everything come to an end?"
Seeing that she couldn't pull the wingtip out of the branch growing from Kasha's chest, Bervis simply set it aside. Listening to Kasha's words, she wore an expression of keen interest, her lips curving into a smile, and then began to mimic Kasha's expression.
"The more you understand the void, the more you fear it. And the more I understand humanity, the more I understand the inherent flaws in your genes. If I leave you with even a sliver of hope, you will not choose a lose-lose outcome; no one with a shred of reason would want to open the Watcher's prison. If you continue to act according to human thinking, you will continue to be led by the nose by me."
Pierre's few words pierced deeply into Kasha's heart. Of course, this didn't refer to physical affection, but rather to spiritual connection.
Kai'Sa hesitated to use the rune bomb because she didn't want to destroy a corner of the continent. Bervis had no idea they had this backup plan, yet she accurately pinpointed the dilemma Kai'Sa was facing.
This made Kasha realize that if she continued to act according to human thinking, she would always be led by the nose by Bervis.
At this moment, Lissandra, on the other side of the Pale Purple Sea, couldn't hear Kai'Sa and Bervis's conversation; otherwise, she would surely be deeply moved. If she had understood the Void better, she wouldn't have been misled by the Watchers into doing such a foolish thing.
Long before the first star lit up in the distant reaches of space, the Void already existed. It was perfect, unique, and silent… It was the approach of two planes that caused whispers from the realm of reality to seep into the Void, thus giving birth to this terrifying existence.
Lissandra was not the culprit behind the creation of the Watchers; the creator god who brought the two planes together was the one who caused the Void to awaken its consciousness. However, there is no doubt that Lissandra opened Pandora's box.
With her damaged heart unable to pump enough blood to her brain, Kasha began to experience bizarre hallucinations, her thoughts drifting aimlessly. She struggled to focus, managing to speak the words she had already rehearsed countless times in her mind to the Queen.
"You think I'm no match for you, so you let me do whatever I want. If I were truly blessed by heaven and helped you wipe out the Watchers, you would be rid of your greatest enemy... But is that even possible? If I could wipe out the Watchers, how could I possibly be no match for you? So you never held onto that slim hope from the very beginning."
Because of the large hole in her chest, Kasha spoke with great difficulty, pausing to catch her breath after every few words, yet even so, she could only exhale more than she inhaled. "You sing of plum blossoms, but I have none; you grove, but none..."
The Queen's wingtip pierced Kai'Sa's heart and lungs, leaving her powerless to resist and struggling to breathe. If it weren't for her resilient foundation keeping her alive, she would likely have already died from such an injury.
As long as Bervis doesn't pull the wingtip out, the wound won't heal. But the branch is tightly binding the Queen's wingtip, forcing Kasha to remain in this near-death state.
But she wasn't afraid. The more intense the pain, the more her near-death madness would conceal her true intentions. And these weak, fragmented words would buy her time, waiting for a turning point that could change the course of the battle.
Kasha coughed up blood, but her eyes were frighteningly bright: "The only reason you let me go was to become a shadow hovering over me, forcing me to grow stronger and stronger with the goal of defeating you... Once I've gathered all the help I can find and the power I can use, you can sit back and reap the benefits, swallowing me and the skin armor whole, even consuming all the 'materials' I prepared to deal with you, and using them to complete your final evolution, thus becoming an existence even more powerful than the Watcher!"
Even though Kasha had completely exposed his scheme, Bervis didn't show any surprise, only a hint of cold approval in his tone. "Kasha... I must say you've become smarter. To understand the truth to this extent far exceeds my assessment of you."
"Don't worry, I won't waste your life. Even a single hair or a dander, I will savor it and make you a complete part of me. Although I have devoured so many memories, this is the first time I have truly eaten. Kasha, you should be proud... From now on, you can live in me from a different perspective and watch as I devour your world bit by bit."
Piervis spread his wings, gazing at his prey with both a terrifying human and a beastly face.
The tall woman's figure trembled slightly, and the oval sphere resembling a human head began to disintegrate, revealing tendrils and eye stalks hidden within. The tendrils and eye stalks retracted into her body, and the bristling hairs on her chest forced open a monstrous maw with fangs. The large, upward-curving shoulder armor transformed into imposing horns, and four bulging vertical pupils under her armpits were her true eyes.
Every stretch of tissue and every deformation of limb is executed with precise control, like a meticulously choreographed ritual that dazzles the eye.
The human head wasn't for eating; its only purpose was to allow prey to understand her language, preventing them from losing their minds after hearing the unknowable whispers of the void. The mouth on her chest was Kai'Sa's final resting place.
As Bervis said, she planned to devour Kasha. Since she couldn't directly transform the skin armor, she would simply devour the skin armor's host and then use her identity and memories to take over the skin armor.
A sudden burst of golden light cast a spot of light on her ray-like, translucent wings, as if outlining a false sun on the void sea, like the halo of a dying world, leaving Kai'Sa stunned.
Bervis swiftly flapped his wings, casually deflecting the golden light descending from the sky. Kasha snapped out of her daze and saw a skid mark twenty or thirty meters long suddenly appear on the ground. At the end of the skid mark, a figure enveloped in golden light lay motionless on the ground.
The golden light shattered, revealing a figure inside—none other than the righteous angel Kyle!
Chapter 709 The Gate of the Void
Even Kai'Sa didn't expect that when she was in trouble, the first person to lend her a helping hand would be her enemy, Kayle.
Although she knew that Kayle had not succumbed to the Wild Hunt's tyranny and was only helping her because killing the Queen was the only way to end it all, Kai'Sa was still deeply shaken.
Perhaps they both misunderstood each other; it was their differing stances that led to their mutual antagonism. They were both protecting civilization in their own ways, and if faced with a real threat, they could actually fight side by side.
However, such an opportunity may not come again—Belvis's casual strike just now cleaved through space, and the light shield on Kayle's body that could withstand Syndra's full-force attack was actually cut open like a bubble, and Kayle inside was also cut in half at the waist, becoming two pieces of corpse in the coral carpet.
The burning sword was stuck in the ground, and the angel stared in disbelief at the clean cut of his wound, his hands trembling uncontrollably. In his shock, he completely forgot that death was imminent.
The howls of the wolf spirits rang in my ears, and the death knell seemed to echo across the pale purple sea.
This was the first time Bervis had directly demonstrated his power, his physical body alone capable of tearing through the void. Witnessing this, Kai'Sa felt a profound sense of powerlessness wash over her broken heart.
"You still have the leisure to meddle with others? It seems I underestimated you." Piervis glanced at Kayle. She hadn't yet tasted the power of the Protoss, but she didn't let a momentary surge of greed make her abandon what she was doing.
The Queen's commands were deafening; her voice bent and crushed everything. A million voices merged into an aria, both a murmur and a roar.
The sound shattered the gaps in the spatial structure, and thousands upon thousands of Void Remoras poured out from the jagged openings at the edges. They converged into a blackish-purple storm, gradually filling the pale purple sea formed by the fusion of nightmares.
A physical storm is raging in the pale purple sea. The tornado has torn open the fungal carpet, and many hernias have emerged from the bare rocks. They grow wildly toward the sky, extending their ends into the center of the storm, constantly clashing and invading.
A massive purple light surged, expanded, and spread continuously at the center of the storm. The light in the nightmare, the evil and ugly purple, was like a metamorphosing fetus, hidden in the deepest and most secluded palace, vaguely revealing a grotesque shape.
Its presence seemed to bring the tornado to life, each heartbeat accompanied by lightning and thunder. The apocalyptic scene was reflected in everyone's eyes as a ghastly purple hue; the tornado was, in reality, a portal to an unknown void.
The air was thick with fear. Countless monsters, arranged in a spiral shape, emerged from the lower eye of the purple hourglass connecting heaven and earth, like fine sand. Every second, thousands upon thousands of monsters descended into the abyss, driven by boundless destructive desires and primal hunger, spreading outwards in a vast, untamed frenzy.
The opening of the Void Gate injected new vitality into the Pale Purple Sea. Some plump worms fell into the ranks of the Sand Soldiers, who then thrust their spears into the worms' bodies, triggering a series of chain reactions.
The worm's stomach seemed to endlessly secrete acid, filling the entire unknown space. Pierced through, its body swayed, continuously gushing acid from the wound. Even so, its body continued to swell uncontrollably.
Then it exploded amidst the sand soldiers' encirclement, like a tsunami, with giant waves of corrosive acid surging into the sky and sweeping outwards.
The yellow-green bio-chemical barrage stirred up a foul-smelling wind, which then engulfed the sand soldier formation. They were all swallowed up in an instant, their shapes losing all meaning in a flash.
The explosion eroded a giant crater in the sand sea, where acid formed a lake and a sea. The bedrock at the bottom dissolved, generating bubbles that bubbled and rose to the surface with black smoke. As the depth increased, the acid lake was rapidly sinking.
The scattered pieces of corpse were quickly corroded and sank, and the sticky yellow-green bubbles that emerged burst open under the scorching sun and then remained still.
Scenes like this are playing out one after another in the Pale Purple Sea. Each explosion will take away hundreds or thousands of sand soldiers, leaving behind acid craters that prevent these sand soldiers from regenerating from the sand.
"Plop, plop." Several self-destructing worms also fell from the Royal Palace. Syndra managed to throw them off before they exploded, but the acid splashed out when they fell still corroded the deck and created holes.
After the Void Gate opened, the first wave of attacks alone wiped out more than half of the Sand Soldiers. The cratered ground was covered in acid, making it impossible to walk on, resembling a battlefield riddled with holes after being bombarded. (The last two lines appear to be unrelated and possibly machine-generated text.)
The long night passed, and the intensity of the war only increased. Looking at the monsters raining down, Azir's expression beneath his helmet was unknown, but it certainly wasn't pleasant.
The situation was dire; if things continued this way, even their foothold might be seized, leaving them with nowhere to stand. Left with no other choice, the emperor decided to take a gamble, to succeed or die trying.
Azir relinquished control of all the Sand Soldiers, instead channeling his power into the Sun Disc. Under his control, the disc emitted a blinding radiance, the beam of light merging into the heart of the storm. A surge of golden light spread across the crater, and the Void creatures raining down were engulfed and pulverized in the light.
However, the tornado did not dissipate; it merely paused for a moment before resuming its rotation. Each heartbeat infused it with power, and the purple storm, filled with an intense aura of destruction, lashed the beam of light round and round like a spinning top.
The intense collision of energies tore a bruised wound in the sky. Within a few heartbeats, the void gate was encased in a wind barrier, completely blocking the impact of the sun disk. Countless monsters continued to fall from its lower end like sand in an hourglass.
"Girl, please lend me a hand. The Sun Disc can't withstand this drain. At this rate, we might not even make it through the night." Seeing that the Sun Disc's energy was about to run out, Azir had no choice but to plead with Katarina for help. Having witnessed Katarina somehow replenishing the Sun Disc's power, Azir now regarded her as his savior.
After the ground was abandoned, only a few Ascended and Sun/Moon Spirits remained, still fighting fiercely. Seeing this, Katarina did not hesitate for a moment and decisively constructed an energy bridge with the Sun Disk, infusing it with runic power.
The solar disk shone brightly once more, piercing the barrier and reaching its core. The nightmarish mass of light within the storm throbbed violently, appearing to teeter on the brink of collapse.
Chapter 710 Cruel Live Skinning
Syndra also joined the siege of the Void Gate, drawing together several scattered black holes that devoured and merged with each other. The black holes grew larger and larger, eventually transforming into a gigantic black star capable of distorting light, which approached the tornado.
