Void Beetle Evolution Guide

The first person to be affected appeared quickly. Portil breathed dragon's breath at the Twilight Butterfly in an attempt to freeze it, but the thing went straight through the biting cold wind and hit her head.
The dome was like night, obscuring the sky and sun, with twilight dancing like butterflies, flickering between light and shadow. In that instant, Portil's past and her present merged.
Portil entered a languid, tranquil dream of the old night, her former mental state superimposed on her present consciousness. She felt as if she had returned to the eggshell, immersed in a comfortable liquid, her tender claws not yet strong enough to break through the hard shell.
Nami was in a similar situation. She frantically waved her staff to summon a water curtain to try and stop the Star Crystal Butterfly, but the butterfly seemed to be an illusion, passing through the water curtain without any hindrance and landing on her head. Her panicked expression immediately turned into a peaceful sleeping face, and many constellation patterns appeared on her body.
"No! There's no way to avoid these things!"
Cassiopeia was also being cornered; even when she hid in the rift, the butterflies would wait outside until she came out. Crucially, she saw the red thread of fate on these butterflies, firmly connecting everyone, and the only way to break the deadlock lay with Kasha, whose red thread was the weakest.
"Kasha, it's up to you!" As soon as she finished speaking, Cassiopeia was also turned into a sculpture frozen in time.
Syndra doesn't believe there's any magic in this world that she can't break. She's been caught in a bubble once before, giving her an experience that no one else has. So she thinks she'll be the exception, not Kai'Sa.
She cast a time-freezing spell on herself, setting the time she would wake up, in an attempt to fend off the approaching butterflies. However, the state of time is unique; what comes first can only be overwritten by what comes later.
Syndra stood frozen in place, brimming with confidence, convinced until the very last moment that she would be granted immunity. While she possessed unparalleled magical power and the boundless knowledge revealed by the runes, she needed time to internalize it all.
Although Zoe has not been a Protoss for very long, she has traveled to thousands of planets and timelines during this period. In addition, the time flow rates in different timelines are vastly different, so she may have seen more in a day than others have seen in a lifetime. You can't assume she doesn't know anything just because she is young.
As her teammates extinguished their lights one by one, Kai'Sa grew increasingly anxious. She couldn't hide forever, and with Syndra unconscious, the Arbiter of the Peak had also escaped. Kayle would soon regroup, and if she couldn't get rid of the butterfly by then, she'd be in big trouble.
No, perhaps we won't even have to wait until then. Zoe looked at the majority of people who had fallen into a deep sleep and immediately announced that the game had entered the second phase.
"Let's play dodgeball! I'll throw the ball, so make sure you dodge well! Don't blame me if you don't die!" Zoe jumped up and pointed to the sky.
The next moment, the sky shone brightly. Kai'Sa saw several comets made of arcane energy flying towards Mount Targon, illuminating the entire sky.
Each of these comets corresponds to a sleeping person, leaving a trail of rainbow-like luminous dust behind them, flashing continuously, just like the warning Zoe used when they first arrived at Mount Targon.
"Damn it!" Seeing that the death knell had already tolled, Kai'Sa looked around and found Kayle's flaming head in the ruins not far from Zoe. She grabbed it and threw it at the butterfly.
She wanted Kyle to shield her from the calamity, but the butterfly bypassed her head and continued flying towards her, like a persistent, lingering leech.
"It's no use, these butterflies won't stop until they hit their target. But, if you run far enough, they might run out of energy." (The rest of the text appears to be gibberish and unrelated to the previous sentences.)
It's too late for Zoe to say all this now. Kai'Sa can escape the area, but what about her companions? She can't just abandon them and run away alone, can she?
The comet overhead grew increasingly blinding, life was entering its final countdown, the howl of the wolf spirit rang in her ears, and Kai'Sa had no choice but to risk her life and daringly turn and charge at Zoe.
"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing! Don't bump into the coach, or you'll be disqualified!"
Zoe retreated repeatedly, intimidated by Kai'Sa's imposing presence. But Kai'Sa ignored her completely and charged towards her, forcing Zoe to throw a yo-yo at Kai'Sa.
Don't be fooled by its appearance as a yo-yo; it is actually a vortex formed from condensed primordial dust. If you accidentally touch it, you will be sucked in, resulting in unpredictable consequences.
Perhaps they will be transported to some other dimension, or perhaps their bodies will be broken up and reassembled, but most likely they will be directly strangled and annihilated by a terrifying energy vortex.
Just before being hit by the yo-yo, Kai'Sa abruptly turned around, causing the yo-yo to collide with the Twilight Butterfly behind her. Upon impact, the butterfly was instantly annihilated and vanished amidst the swirling starlight.
Kasha was right; the one who tied the knot must untie it. But now she's only solved her own problem; other people's problems await her, and time is running out.
Fortunately, she knew the answer.
When Syndra was put to sleep by the bubbles on the dragon's back, Wild Hunt had already told her how to break free.
—A mere touch is enough to wake these people up.
Chapter 635 The Protoss's Formulaic Fighting Method
The flow of time shifted again, but Kai'Sa was no longer as carefree as before, able to appreciate the destructive moment of the falling meteorite.
She rushed to her teammates' side, unable to break their deep sleep caused by overlapping time and space, but able to wake them up with the slightest touch.
Kaisa reached out and touched them, then pushed them one by one into the passage and stuffed them into the void rift, thus escaping this catastrophic disaster.
The consequences of continuously using forbidden magic became apparent: a dull pain from the distortion of space and time tore through her brain, and excruciating pain swept over her like a tidal wave, causing her brain matter to separate from her exposed bones as if it were submerged in water.
Her brain began to lag behind her eyes in processing information, everything seemed a beat too slow. After pushing the last person into the crevice, Kasha stumbled and rushed in herself.
When they emerged from the crevice, the comet's impact had completely transformed the summit. The already small altar was riddled with craters from the impact, radiating hellish heat and constantly spewing out dreamlike dust.
These fine dust particles spread out, gradually covering the entire mountaintop. They are both the smallest units of celestial decomposition and the raw materials used by the creator god to create the stars.
Bathed in stardust, the fallen celestial beings rose again, looking even more magnificent than before, and surrounded Kaisa and the others.
A round of applause erupted, and Kai'Sa, enduring a headache, pinpointed Zoe's location. This brat's words couldn't be trusted at all; she told others to repair the altar, but then she turned around and blasted it to smithereens.
"Wow! You did it! I knew you could do it! Too bad there's no reward..." Zoe pulled out her pocket: "Hmm, do you want the leftover lollipop sticks?"
Kasha's upper lip twitched, but she ultimately resisted the urge to unleash a torrent of abuse. She didn't know if Zoe was feigning madness or genuinely treating death as a game; she only knew that ignoring her would only bore her more quickly.
"Looks like nobody really likes Zoe's games. Did I mess it up again...?" Zoe scratched her head in confusion. Every time she tried to find someone to play games, it ended in disaster. These mortals were just too fragile. "How about we play hide-and-seek? If nobody likes it, that's fine. Why don't you go first, Miss Justice? Let me think of something else we can play."
Zoe's words drew everyone's attention to the Protoss of Justice; Kayle had regained her head. As the swirling stardust flowed into her body, her strength rapidly recovered.
At the point where her neck was severed, a candle flame, like those of the celestial messengers, ignited. It was this flame of indomitable will that sustained her body, enabling her to move, find her head, and reposition it.
Although Zoe bought her some time, Kyle knew she couldn't count on her at all, and in the end, she would have to judge these demons herself.
The seraph of justice was enveloped in a blazing aura of truth and punishment. Its wings suddenly unfurled and trembled violently in the gale. The sacred wings spontaneously ignited the holy fire of judgment, and the raging flames illuminated the entire sky as if it were daytime.
She soared into the sky with unparalleled majesty, raising her arms high at the top of the firmament, gripping a blazing sword in reverse.
In an instant, countless sword shadows separated from the sword's edge, hovering in the sky like stars, the flames leaping on the blades all aimed at the ruined earth below—a judgment array prepared to thoroughly purify the human world.
"Here we go again." Kai'Sa looked miserable. The small area combined with the saturation attack made the Protoss's attack methods very formulaic, but it was undeniably effective. With a splitting headache, she probably wouldn't be able to dodge it this time.
"Even the light of a firefly dares to rival the sun's brilliance!" (You sing, you sing, I'm empty, you Lin are here, are you not here...)
Several spears radiating dark demonic energy shot towards Kayle, while Syndra's ten fingers formed claws, stretching and deforming the dark orbs swirling around her to their extreme. However, a barrier of light suddenly appeared and blocked the spears; even the Seraph wouldn't be so arrogant as to expose her weakness to the enemy while building up her ultimate attack.
Syndra frowned and hurled more dark spears. The spear tips pressed firmly against the shield, and under her pressure, cracks appeared in the barrier of holy light, piercing right through the angel inside.
The sword formation burning the sky did not stop there. The golden chains firmly restrained the spear that had pierced through his body, preventing it from shattering Kyle's internal organs or exploding from the inside out.
Syndra wrinkled her nose, her expression becoming even more ferocious. She summoned her witch avatar once more, her enormous claws gripping the light shield, and dazzling cracks instantly spread across the entire barrier, as if a blinding demise was about to occur at any moment.
Just then, the Arbiter of the Peak below transformed into a beam of starlight and poured it into Kyle's light shield. The barrier was reinforced by His astral magic, and even the witch couldn't break through it for the time being.
Through that dazzling light curtain, one could clearly see Kyle's eyes burning with holy flames, within which lay an unwavering will of judgment.
As if a second sun were gathering, the thousands of sword shadows surrounding Kyle illuminated the dark night sky as if it were eternal daylight, a glory that was both sacred and solemn, yet chilling.
"Witness the supreme fire!"
Accompanied by a sacred declaration that resounded throughout the realms, countless burning swords rained down like a meteor shower, carrying the absolute will to cleanse all evil.
Portil roared to the sky, her frigid breath transforming into a shower of ice spikes that clashed violently with the rain of swords falling from the heavens, exploding into clouds of steam. But even with all her might, she could only protect herself; the others still faced the threat of the sword rain.
Kai'Sa used her runes again, and the torrent of wood surged upwards, burning fiercely as it was pierced by swords, before finally collapsing and disintegrating. Kayle's rage was boundless, and this time the rain of swords was relentless, unlike last time when it could be easily contained.
Syndra kept gathering corpses, armor, rubble, and any other usable materials around her into the wall above, but under the relentless bombardment of the blazing sword rain, she gradually reached her limit.
Finally, seeing that things were going badly, Sephiroth unleashed his power and revealed his enormous body.
A blinding flash of light erupted, and Sephie's figure expanded rapidly within the light. In the blink of an eye, she transformed into a colossal sea dragon as majestic as a mountain, its sky-covering claws gripping a giant, torch-like tree in the sky, coiling around the mountain peak.
She used her powerful body to withstand the rain of fire, and a torrent of flames burst forth from her mouth, striking the seraphim who was at the height of his power, instantly creating a sea of steam.
The fiery rain of swords exploded with a roar, but even more sword shadows, as if they had eyes, lined up along her spine and filled her back. The burning pain and continuous impacts forced her massive body to slide down.
The rain of swords seemed endless, accompanied by burning meteors. But they weren't specifically aimed at the summit of Mount Targon; instead, they were randomly scattered around, covering the entire Mount Targon region.
Chapter 636 Burning Meteor
On
Fiery meteors continued to fall to the earth, frequently triggering earthquakes. Nami witnessed a meteor fall into the ocean a hundred miles away, creating towering waves.
"Has she...has she gone mad? This...this has gone completely off track!"
"Watch out! These fireballs weren't summoned by Kyle," Sephi warned, the sea dragon's growl booming like thunder.
Even if she didn't say it, intelligent people would realize something was wrong. Although the fire meteors and the rain of burning swords appeared almost simultaneously, no matter how ruthless Kyle's righteous judgment was, it wouldn't harm the innocent like this.
If any of those fiery meteors were to strike the settlement, the number of Rakor people killed by her would likely surpass the number of those who died in the fighting below the mountain. This wasn't judging the enemy; it was indiscriminate slaughter of the innocent.
They weren't Zoe's doing either, and her actions proved it. Zoe watched the shooting stars streak across the sky, a rare hint of panic appearing on her usually carefree face.
"Oh dear, our space dog is really angry this time. He can't play with you anymore, I have to hurry back and coax him."
Zoe stretched out her hand, focused her mind to create a passageway in front of her, and then leaped in, disappearing without a trace. On the other side of the portal, one could vaguely see an endless starry sky.
Her departure did not lighten the atmosphere; instead, their expressions grew even more grave. What could make a Twilight Protoss flee in such a panic was often something far more terrifying.
Shortly after she left, a fiery meteor streaked towards the summit, bringing with it a wave of intense heat even before it hit the ground. The heat it brought completely overwhelmed Kayle's sword array, and its incandescent brightness was incomparable to the arcane comet concocted by Zoe; it was like a large mass of burning light metal.
"Quickly hide! Don't try to fight it!"
Kaisa warned repeatedly that those who could hide in the void rift should do so immediately, and those who couldn't should run with her to the bottom of the cliff to avoid the most violent first wave of impact.
Even rifts opened by others can cause discomfort due to spacetime shifts, so Kasha must avoid using her spatial abilities until she fully recovers. She's not even allowed to hitchhike, otherwise she could easily lose consciousness. (The last part, "你咏咏咏没林空你林在在没呢……", is a nonsensical string of characters and doesn't translate directly.)
Losing consciousness in another dimension is a terrifying thing. If you can't grab onto a spatial anchor and are swept away by spatial turbulence, the luckiest outcome is being transported to an unknown place and at least still alive. In more serious cases, you will either be banished forever or be directly strangled by the spatial turbulence.
In the end, only Nami, who still didn't know how to open the rift, was left on the field. Kai'Sa quickly jumped off the peak with her, and with a terrified scream, they landed on the roots that had sprouted from the giant tree. They used the sprawling vines to weave a cage and prayed that they could withstand the impact.
After the dazzling light, a powerful foehn wind swept everything away. The incandescent core of the stardust fusion crashed into the summit of the divine peak, decomposing back into countless dust particles, stirring up a storm of shimmering stars, and turning the night sky into a vortex of wildly dancing starlight, overshadowing the world's original aura.
Bright sparks swirled and scattered from the center of the valley. Gravity gradually dissolved in the turbulent spectrum, and countless strands of color, indistinguishable to the average person, meandered and splashed out, with dazzling light cascading in layers, its heat so concentrated that it even extended the limits of the spectrum.
The vegetation was reduced to ashes, the ocean steamed, and even the sheer cliffs collapsed amidst the billowing smoke.
Nami, who had been slacking off, made a crucial move at the last moment. Just before the meteor fell, she wielded the Tidecaller's Staff, reinforcing Kai'Sa's cage with a thick, deep blue water prison.
The water prison not only neutralized the intense heat emitted by the meteor explosion, but also mitigated the violent impact; otherwise, Kaisa had no doubt that a part of her body would have been turned into a bloody, hot limb and flown out from the gaps in the cage.
The dazzling apocalyptic light gradually faded, and the once-peaked mountaintop had collapsed into lava mixed with rubble. The summit of Mount Targon suddenly appeared shorter, replaced by a crimson, bubbling pool of lava, as if it had been forcibly transformed into an open volcano.
This power is far greater than even Zoe's Arcane Comet magnified a hundred times. Kai'Sa should be thankful that her tree-frame was planted deep enough, otherwise she would have been shaken straight off the summit.
"Cough cough." Kasha was choked awake by the thick smoke and excruciating pain, her bones feeling as if they were falling apart, and she groaned in agony. Looking around, she saw lava, glowing with an orange-red light, flowing down from above, and their situation was extremely precarious.
"Nami, Nami! Wake up!" She glanced at the merman girl who had also fainted, reached out and shook her a few times, but her hand was scalding hot as if it had just been pulled out of boiling water. If it weren't for her protective armor, she would probably be cooked by now.
"Ugh... Whoa! What is this?!" Nami woke up in agony and was startled to see the lava flowing up to her head.
She had only seen fire for the first time after coming ashore, let alone the "water" in front of her that was even hotter than fire. Instinctively, she wanted to use cold water to neutralize it, but she couldn't feel the staff in her hand.
Nami turned her head and saw that she was holding the staff in her hand, but her arm had lost all feeling. It looked intact, but it was broken inside.
"my hand……"
"Don't be afraid, it won't get worse. The most important thing right now is to get out of here."
Kaisa pulled Nami out of the dilapidated cage, spread her elytra, and flew to the mountaintop to check the situation.
Protected by her armor and runes, she was not harmed. Kai'Sa suspected that as long as she had the runes, ordinary methods would not be able to destroy her body.
A healing green light emanated from her hands as she flew, using the power of runes to heal Nami's injuries. Although the skin armor would repair the host's body even if left unattended, it was still not as efficient as a rune touch that would instantly revive her at full health.
Upon reaching the mountaintop again, she saw Portil moving through the thick smoke, constantly spewing out icy breath to cool the lava, creating a dark rock curtain above the lava pool for her to stand on.
The others stood on it. Kaisa landed with Nami. The pressure of their footsteps still caused some sparks to fly, but it was much better than being directly immersed in lava.
She saw that the others had suffered serious injuries, some clutching their heads and others their chests, with dried blood sticking to their orifices. It seemed that even the parallel universe had been affected.
Kaisa had no choice but to gather everyone together for treatment first, and while doing so, she asked around, but no one had discovered Kyle's whereabouts.
"She's not going to die like that, is she? I saw her not even try to dodge at the very last moment." Sephie coughed up a mouthful of blood. Her transformation back into human form took some time, so she was the last one to go in and was also the most seriously injured.
“No, she’s not dead,” Cassiopeia said firmly, the thread of fate connecting Kyle to the world still unbroken.
The group exchanged bewildered glances, then looked down at the lava beneath their feet. "There's only one possibility left..."
Just as they were wondering if Kyle could survive inside, how long she could hold out, and whether they should try to get her out, Sephie suddenly said something in a very serious tone.
“I can feel it, something seems to be growing inside…”
Chapter 637 Starry Sky Dragon Beast
The surface of the lava pool was originally just bubbling ominously, like a pot of boiling, thick blood soup, with the dark red lava slowly churning and making a dull gurgling sound.
However, after Sephie reminded everyone, the bubbles began to become denser and more rapid, as if something was breathing rapidly from the depths of the abyss.
The cosmic dust that should have been evenly distributed in the volcanic ash was drawn by an invisible force and continuously converged towards the center of the magma pool.
The burgeoning stardust suddenly fused, continuously forcing surrounding matter into its core, transforming it into scorching starlight.
A perfect spiral funnel is forming in the center of the lava pool, while the lava at the edges cools down rapidly, as if its heat has been drawn away.
The pure primordial starlight burned intensely, growing brighter and hotter, its hue constantly shifting as it spun, like the first ray of light at the dawn of the universe.
A figure burst forth from the vortex, scalding lava flowing from her body, revealing the dying Winged Guardian.
Kyle staggered and fell, too weak to even control his direction, crashing down in front of Kai'Sa and her group.
