Seeing that she was alone, the pack of dogs immediately leaped down the sand dune and closed in on her. They were cooperative hunters and quickly surrounded Sylvie.
Sivir hesitated to make a move, as doing so would only expose her weaknesses prematurely. If she revealed an opening by taking the initiative to attack, the hounds behind her would pounce on her without hesitation.
Dozens of hunting dogs could devour her in less than ten minutes, leaving not even a bone fragment.
"Do you need my help? There's still time," Wild Hunt suggested.
"How can I help?" She wasn't confident she could defeat the pack of hounds; her chances of winning were slim to none. Even if she were lucky enough to win, she would likely die from an infection or other illness.
"With just a set of Void Skin armor like Kai'Sa's, you can turn the tables and devour these hounds without worrying about water or food. Wearing it, even Azir won't be able to sense where you are."
"Isn't there any other way?!"
Wild Hunt said in a helpless tone, "It's not that I don't want to help you, it's that you don't want it yourself."
"I need it! I need it! Help me!" Sivir said urgently. Even though she could smell the trick, she could only hold her nose and go for it.
As soon as he finished speaking, countless gray substances burst forth from his hand, forming several thick tentacles that wrapped around Charikar and swept outwards.
The divine weapon was sharp, and the nearest hunting dogs were instantly decapitated. The pungent smell of blood excited the tentacles, which quickly wrapped around Sivir's skin armor, which had evolved into an erosion form.
The moment Sivir opened her eyes, she saw the pack of dogs rushing towards her, their feet already off the ground. The movement seemed to be in slow motion, and their trajectory was crystal clear.
She stretched out her arm, and the rapidly contracting tentacles retracted the cross blade into her hand, before swinging her arm out in a slash.
The blade easily sliced into flesh, then extended without a drop of blood, until Sivir managed to retract the weapon after overcoming inertia. The hound, sliced in mid-air, had not yet fallen to the ground and been dismembered.
"How did I become so much faster?" Sivir was utterly shocked. Despite being surrounded by a pack of dogs, she actually had time to stop and think about her next move.
With her incredible speed, the battle became as easy as drinking water; Sivir's swift strikes turned into a one-sided massacre.
Soon, the deadly threat turned into a field of corpses. Standing on the blood-stained yellow sand, before Sivir could even catch her breath, a strange sensation spread through her body.
The protrusions that sprouted from inside her skin and nails wrapped around her entire body, swimming over her sweaty armpits, her bronze, muscular abdomen, and coiled around her violently heaving chest, tightly squeezing into her flesh as if trying to squeeze out all her milk.
"Damn it! What are you doing?!" The weapon flew out of his hand, and Sivir collapsed to her knees due to the sudden tingling and soreness.
The armor that had just saved her life had now become her biggest obstacle. No matter how hard she tried to tear it off, she couldn't remove it to reach inside and stop the Wild Hunt. Tearing at the armor only caused a stinging pain that spread across her skin, as if she were being bitten by countless tiny, sharp teeth.
"Can't you tell? I'm charging you a commission. You know what a commission is, right?" The Wild Hunt expertly extended his tentacles between his legs. The sewer, which hadn't been cleaned for a week, exuded a strong female stench from sweat and menstrual blood fermenting in the long simmering environment. It was like a fragrant garden, but he didn't mind at all, manipulating his tentacles to probe into the path.
"Didn't you want my blood?" Sivir felt an unprecedented humiliation; she had never been treated like this, not even in her most helpless moments.
"That was the charge for your water, that's a completely different matter."
"I curse you! You greedy, lecherous monster!!!"
Wild Hunt's answer drove Sivir utterly mad, but she couldn't stop it, not even with the divine weapon at her disposal. She could only endure the tentacles churning every nook and cranny before finally stopping before the barrier symbolizing the purity of the flesh.
"Don't be nervous. It will hurt a little the first time, but you'll feel better soon."
"Get off me! You coward who won't even show your face! Come out and face me!!"
“I protected you. If you had fallen into Azir’s hands, you would most likely have become a blood transfusion and a breeding machine, imprisoned in the palace and deprived of your freedom. But now, I am only asking you for a moment of pleasure.”
The Wild Hunt ignored her curses and used his erect tentacles to deflower her. His forceful entry deformed her insides, and her two fleshy labia were squeezed outwards, revealing their plump shape even through her skin.
The piercing pain deep in her lower abdomen caused Sivir to collapse to her knees, powerless. She had to support herself with her hands to keep her face away from the blood-stained sand. She could only stick out her plump, upturned buttocks and was forced to accept the mad hunter's whip, feeling the inner folds spasm and gush out clear springs under the friction, overflowing from the already filled passage.
After an unknown amount of time, Wild Hunt finally finished cleaning the stinking sewer for her, leaving behind a faint comment before departing.
"Private area cleaning is very important; don't forget it no matter how busy you are."
After saying this, Wild Hunt vanished without a trace, ignoring all the insults Sivir hurled at him.
The guy who was just enjoying her body with great enthusiasm seemed to have lost all sexual interest in her in an instant, without the slightest lingering affection, discarding her after he was done with her.
It was as if she were just a lump of unattractive, rotten flesh, leaving him disappointed.
The denial of her feminine charms humiliated and angered Sylvie more than the previous assaults she had suffered.
"Aaaaaah! You're actually looking down on me now!! I'm going to kill you!!!" Sivir's hysterical screams echoed across the empty desert, but no one responded.
However, those familiar with the Wild Hunt know that he will reappear when Sivir needs him, charging the same fee, until the deal becomes an unwritten rule between the two.
Chapter 437 Battle Between Two Armies
Xerath knew that Azir would not let him go, so he spent several days modifying Narimar. He built the Blood Altar for Zolani and made many obelisks rise from the ruins.
He generously bestowed power upon humanity, transforming them into his servants of destruction, or even more powerful Wildwalkers and Ancient Magus Servants, to control hordes of sarcophagus monsters.
Some came because of its reputation, while others were clueless tomb raiders, but the vast majority were victims brought by Zolani from the surrounding area.
Both of them possess the power to bewitch people and easily enslave others for their own use. Coupled with Xerath's frenzied army production, they created another massive army in a very short time.
With Mount Targon right behind them, they had nowhere to retreat but to fight a desperate battle.
The Shurima army arrived, hundreds of thousands of soldiers assembled into hundreds of square formations. Dust billowed, covering the sky and earth, like a gathering storm about to sweep away mortal territory.
Dust drifted several kilometers away to Xerath's eyes, and he saw wave after wave of enemy troops coming into view. Everywhere he looked, there was war. They marched forward, a wall of men raising golden banners, the sun disk totem gleaming in the midday sun.
Golden steeds and riders provided cover for the flanks, while hundreds of floating chariots led the way for the army. Strange war machines were mounted on heavily armored wagons, each a massive vessel comparable in size to a three-masted sailing ship. These machines were swirling spheres surrounded by fireballs and lightning bolts, resembling astrolabes for navigation. A group of priests in robes, carrying torches and staffs, followed around the machines.
It was impossible for Azir to gather so many troops in such a short time. These soldiers wielding bronze spears were sand soldiers he had summoned, led by General Falling Sand, who was also summoned by him.
At the heart of the army were the Darkborn, numbering as many as ten. Some were about the same size as the soldiers, while others stood like small hills among the soldiers under their command.
Xerath's fiery gaze searched among the enemy ranks. Zolani had already informed him of the number of Darkin, so he wasn't surprised.
"Azir didn't come." Xerath felt a mixture of relief and disappointment.
"But the Darkin have all arrived, along with two Ascended."
Zolani, standing to the side, looked solemn. In this kind of war, the number of lower-level combatants is unlikely to affect the outcome; what truly determines victory or defeat are the high-level combatants.
While they do have Xerath, the strongest warrior after Azir, their numbers of high-end fighters are far fewer than the enemy's, and they would definitely be stretched thin in a full-scale war.
"They're just defeated opponents. I'll take care of those two good-for-nothing brothers."
“That won’t do. You’ll have to take on more Darkin. When the fighting starts, Aatrox will definitely come straight for me, and just holding him off will be difficult enough.”
"Hmph, then what's the point of me building you a blood altar?" Xerath snorted coldly, clearly displeased.
"You'll find out then." Zolani smiled wickedly; she didn't reveal her entire plan to Xerath. Even now, the two were still wary of each other while cooperating, forced to stand on the same side.
……
Kai'Sa followed the army all the way to Narimarjad, the westernmost part of Shurima, where the sun sets.
She could have arrived a few days earlier, but in order to stop the Darkin from slaughtering civilians along the way for flesh and blood, their bloodthirsty instincts were etched into their minds. These guys would never let go of any opportunity to plunder flesh and blood.
So she chose to slow down and travel with the army, but she could only stop the Darkin from causing trouble by threatening them, as these guys were unwilling to obey her orders.
Fortunately, Nasus was reasonable enough not to let the Darkin indiscriminately kill innocents, but instead supervised their actions with her, which allowed the army to successfully reach Narimar.
“Zolani and Xerath are in cahoots, I can smell her stench.” Aatrox flapped his wings and landed. He had just taken to the skies to survey the entire city and had already seen the fortifications of Narimar.
“Two traitors! Birds of a feather flock together.” Anaka said angrily, her hatred for Zolani now no less than that for Aatrox, as she was controlled by blood magic.
“Since Zolani is here, Varus and Nayafili, you two shouldn’t bother her,” Horaz said.
"What do you mean?" Nayafili warned with a whimper.
"You haven't changed your physical bodies yet. If you turn against your side under the control of blood magic like Anaka did, it will only make the situation more chaotic. Just go and wipe out the army."
“Zorani is more than capable with our help,” Aatrox nodded.
"Hmph, don't come begging me for help when things go wrong." Nayafili was very unhappy. She originally wanted to compete for the greatest merit and be the first to ascend.
But if it's arranged this way, although she won't have to face danger directly, she'll miss out on any military achievements. It's hard to imagine how long she'll have to be treated like a dog and ridiculed.
She has discovered that, because of the host, few people are willing to listen to her.
Kai'Sa looked at the group of Darkin, and it seemed that none of them had considered her in their plans. She sighed helplessly, hoping that she really wouldn't need to intervene when the time came.
Suddenly, she saw Xerath rise into the sky from the city like a shooting star, his eyes burning with cold flames as he swept over the Shurima army.
"Xerath, surrender, and I can make your death quicker." Aatrox also flew into the sky, arms crossed, and uttered a loud voice amplified by magic.
"Does Azir have no one left? A bunch of crippled soldiers dare to fill the ranks," Xerath retorted dismissively.
"It's more than enough to deal with you."
"Stop talking nonsense, nothing you say will make a difference. Having chosen this path, I will never turn back." (The rest of the text appears to be gibberish and unrelated to the main topic.)
Xerath launched the first attack, a dazzling comet shooting from his chest that landed in the middle of the Shurima infantry, exploding into bursts of blue flames, and the soldiers made of sand were reduced to ashes.
Hundreds fell. Their lines were broken and chaotic.
Without Azir to command, these sand soldiers were just expendable resources, one less to lose with each death. So Aatrox decisively ordered a full-scale attack, and hundreds of thousands of troops surged forward.
Xerath's puppet army also mobilized at the same time. The ruins of Narimar had no walls, so passive defense was tantamount to waiting for death.
Kasha tasted an unusual texture in the air, like chewing on a piece of tin. Looking up, she saw the rapidly spinning sphere on the war machine begin to burn, emitting a blazing light, and the group of priests swung their staffs downwards.
A fireball detached from the central sphere, soared into the air, and crashed into the enemy ranks, blasting the monsters made of stone and energy into fragments. Another fireball followed, and then yet another.
Watching this grand spectacle of magical clashes, Kai'Sa gained a deeper understanding of ancient warfare, which seemed far more brutal than modern battles fought with cold weapons.
Fortunately, the proportion of living people on both sides was very small; most of those who were sacrificed were puppets and sand soldiers who were originally intended to be expendable.
Chapter 438 Complete Suppression
More fireballs flew toward the city, but instead of hitting the enemy ranks, they wobbled in the air before turning and crashing into the ranks of Shurima spearmen.
Magical veins pulsed between Xerath's lightning-formed arms, and the surrounding air was shrouded in a soft light, as if a curtain had been drawn.
More fireballs shot out from the Shurima war machines, but they all crashed into the magical barrier created by Xerath and exploded in mid-air.
Xerath's barrier blocked the war machine's fireballs, turning the airspace above the battlefield into a no-fly zone.
Nasus couldn't let Xerath dominate the battlefield, so he turned to Renekton beside him and said.
"Brothers, it's our turn!"
"I'll tear him to pieces!"
Renekton was too deeply influenced by Xerath and was still somewhat mentally unstable, but he was content as long as Nasus could understand human speech.
The two celestial warriors simultaneously manifested their ascension forms, their terrifyingly towering figures surrounded by howling sandstorms, yet unable to conceal the magical radiance emanating from within them.
They leaped up and together shattered Xerath's energy barrier. Xerath casually picked up an obelisk and shot it toward the two of them.
Nasus dodged the obelisk aimed at him, which landed in the Shurima army, unleashing a storm of lightning. In the blink of an eye, thousands of sand soldiers were crushed to death amidst the rolling thunder.
He swung his sword with all his might, shattering the obelisk that was being fired at Renekton, and allowed himself to be swallowed by the Razer Serpent, all to create an opportunity for Renekton.
Renekton did not disappoint, charging into Xerath with his axe and throwing him into the city. His frenzied bites tore through the chains binding Xerath's chest.
"Charge! The general needs help!" Nayafili howled excitedly, and the pack of dogs leaped into the air with her, gathering together, and the shattered daggers came back together.
Nayafili transformed into a "sea urchin" covered in sharp blades, rolling rapidly into the city, crushing every enemy it hit instantly.
Screams erupted from the front lines, blood gushed into the air, severed hands flew wildly, spun like skipping stones, and corpses followed, tossed into the air like grains of sand.
Other Darkin also charged into the lines, some walking like humans, others crawling like beasts. All were equipped with enormous weapons that no human could lift, unstoppable and invincible.
They stormed in, killing more than a dozen people with each swing of their blades. Enemies were shattered into pieces by their blades, trampled on, or torn into bloody strips.
The Narimar army includes a number of human troops, who are puppet servants manipulated by Xerath and Zoranny with magic.
They became the Darkin's primary targets, as the corpses from the slaughter of living people could be absorbed as nourishment for their bodies, allowing them to fight and grow stronger with each battle.
Nasus rose again and summoned pillars of fire towards the densest part of the enemy ranks, engulfing them with the intensity of a million suns and burning them to ashes.
No one could pierce the armor of the Celestial Warriors; spears snapped against their steely skin, and their roars were deafening. The Jackal Celestials charged into the city, and no one could stop them.
Kasha joined the battle, charging into the enemy ranks with her bio-batteries. Electric circles surged high-frequency along her lightning-fast path, paralyzing all enemies in her way. (The last two lines appear to be random characters and are left untranslated.)
Behind her, the infantry line laid down their spears and charged forward like wedges, striking their wavering lines with thunderous force.
The spear pierced his unsuspecting back, sending a violent tremor through him. The battle axe split open his skull, its long handle snapping and breaking under the intense impact.
The enemy offered no resistance, and the soldiers' charge became unstoppable, piercing deep into the enemy ranks and completely shattering their formation.
Kaisa didn't kill a single person, yet she inflicted tens of thousands of casualties on the enemy.
But no one expected that Xerath had set a trap for Kai'Sa. As she ran among the enemies, a sudden clap of thunder struck, and the landmines she had triggered blasted her into the air.
Wild Hunt immediately recalled Kai'Sa, using his claws to pull her away from the center of the battlefield before she even landed.
Kasha pressed down on her deformed and twisted thigh, cold sweat beading on her forehead, yet she still gritted her teeth and growled unwillingly, "I didn't run fast enough just now, otherwise even if those landmines exploded, they wouldn't have been able to keep up with my speed!"
"Are you in a hurry? You don't need to compete with those Darkin for the chance to ascend, so why are you working so hard? Just observe the situation from the rear, gradually whittle down the enemy, and strike when the time is right."
"Damn it!" Kai'Sa clenched her fist and slammed it into the ground in anger, knowing she could only wait for the World Rune to heal her injured foot before she could move again.
This was just a minor incident on the battlefield and did not affect Shurima's enormous advantage.
