"Really just some blood? That Noxian bitch stabbed me right through the chest!"
"..." That's true, so Wild Hunt couldn't lie anymore. "Anyway, I won't let you die. Someone will come to rescue you soon, but you have to live until then."
"Why can't you save me now? I'm bleeding almost dry!!" Sivir said anxiously, unable to calm down when she thought about her situation.
“No, we must leave the chance to save him to Azir. Only in that way can he complete his ascension ceremony. All I’m doing is making you hold on until then.”
"Damn it! Damn it! You deliberately injured me to the point of near death just to give some damn emperor an opportunity to save me? Can't you find a single normal person among you?! This is utterly inhuman!" (The last line appears to be a nonsensical string of characters and doesn't translate directly.)
Sivir distrusts the Wild Hunt, and even less so the Emperor. If she could move, she would have gotten up and run away immediately, leaving everything behind.
"Want Charikar? Maybe that will calm you down," the Wild Hunt asked calmly.
"Give it to me!" Sivir blurted out as if grasping at a straw; the sentient weapon was the only thing that could give her a sense of security.
"If you want it, just relax your will, and it will appear in your life like a wish coming true."
"You're lying! This is definitely a lie to trick me into giving in!"
"I won't say it a second time. That's your only chance to get it. Otherwise, it will be considered that you've given up voluntarily."
Wild Hunt's words silenced Sivir. She was afraid, afraid that Wild Hunt would really leave her there to die. She had no choice; to survive, she had to obey his orders.
After a fierce internal struggle, she finally convinced herself to give herself away.
"Alright, I promise... but you have to promise not to let anyone take my Charikar away again."
"I guarantee that it's yours, and even the emperor can't take it away."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Wild Hunt began to invade Sivir's will.
He will not relinquish all decision-making power to others. If he can ascend successfully, Azir will be the most perfect ascendant in history, a supreme combination of divine and imperial power.
Azir will become very strong, strong enough to defeat Xerath head-on, or suppress all the Darkin... But anyone who knows Azir even slightly knows that this emperor not only has the appearance of a wise ruler, but his arrogance is also well-known. Otherwise, he would not have broken the rules to forcibly ascend, and then waited until the last moment to free Xerath from his slave status.
That's why the Wild Hunt needed to first exploit his only weakness and control Sivir. Only then would he have the leverage to negotiate with the emperor and get him to do things his way.
Chapter 418 Resurrection
On
The fusion of the Wild Hunt and Sivir did not involve encasing them in armor, otherwise the emperor would have been suspicious upon seeing an unclean offspring.
He kept invading Sivir's consciousness. Sivir felt that she was being violated by some kind of being, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong.
It was like having a bizarre dream, in which numerous tentacles wrapped around and enveloped her, while she was also growing countless pieces of flesh and blood... There was no pain, but rather a kind of pleasure from the fusion of flesh and blood, touching the depths of her soul, making her tremble uncontrollably.
Sivir opened her eyes again with a groan. Her head was spinning, and her unfocused pupils could only catch blurry images. But she could see that there was nothing wrong with her body, as if everything she had just experienced was just an illusion.
"Are you done yet?" Sivir felt a little awkward and urged Wild Hunt to finish this quickly.
"Don't worry, it's not like that, it won't take long." (The rest of the text appears to be gibberish and unrelated to the previous sentences.)
It would have been better if she hadn't asked. Wild Hunt's explanation made Sivir realize that he understood those things, which made her feel even more ambiguous.
But regardless of whether he had those thoughts or not, things were already half done, and Sivir could only continue to endure.
After a while, the fusion finally ended. Sivir was covered in sweat, her long black hair sticking to her cheeks, and she felt her previously cold body become warm again.
On her palm, the three-eyed mark representing the void quietly appeared, signifying that she had also become a member of the Wild Hunt.
As the demonic claws tore open a spatial rift, Charikar, who had been in Cassiopeia's hands, was also teleported in by the Wild Hunt and planted in the ground next to her.
Looking at her familiar old friend, Sivir ignored her own pain and reached out to grab it, feeling the coolness and reassurance coming from the blade.
"I've brought what you asked for. Get some sleep, and your wound will be healed when you wake up."
Hearing the whispers in her ear, a wave of intense fatigue washed over her, making Sivir's eyelids droop and eventually causing her to fall into a deep sleep.
The tomb returned to deathly silence, with only disturbed dust floating in the air. It appeared calm, but undercurrents were surging beneath the surface.
The emperor's blood was spilled in the tomb, injecting a glimmer of life into the lifeless cemetery, and also propelling the cycle that had been stagnant for a thousand years, allowing everything in the ancient world to begin to run again.
The will of the Shurima dynasty is bound to a lost remnant soul, awakened by this aura of the same origin.
Deep within the tomb, dust floating in the air began to swirl in a certain trajectory, gradually carving out a blurry human figure.
Azir has indeed been resurrected, but not completely.
His body was nothing more than a moving tangible dust, held together by his last shred of indomitable will, which would dissipate with a gentle breath.
If the Wild Hunt hadn't kept the threat out of the tomb, the scorching winds surrounding Xerath would have easily obliterated him.
Azir's body was incomplete, and he also lacked most of his memories. He couldn't remember his identity, nor did he know why he was here or how he ended up in this state.
However, he could sense that there was a will in the darkness driving him to accomplish something great, which was the reason for his rebirth at this moment, and it was his destiny.
Azir drifted aimlessly forward, surrounded by shocking ruins. The imperial tomb—this should be his final resting place.
Looking at these ruined scenes, distant memories surfaced one by one in Azir's mind, while his mangled body gathered more dust and gradually became whole again.
Azir gradually transformed into a more solidified body of sand and gravel. He remembered that he was the emperor of Shurima, the first emperor to be ascended to heaven.
He was supposed to rule the world and let the light of the Sun Disc spread to every corner of Runeterra, but now it seems that his ascension has failed. What went wrong?
As Azir continued to ponder, his flesh and blood grew wildly. Having regained his original physical form, he could no longer float in the air and could only stagger and limp through the ruins, clumsily maneuvering his limbs. He now had a purpose: to leave the Imperial Tomb.
Yellowed bandages wrapped around him, making him look like a richly dressed, ancient mummy. His features were concealed by a golden eagle helmet, revealing only a pair of emerald green eyes. Several braided hairs with dangling ornaments cascaded down his back, exuding an air of extraordinary presence.
Azir walked toward the gate, encountering a girl's corpse along the way and faintly hearing the sounds of fighting outside.
With no guards around him, Azir had no intention of going out to investigate. Instead, he crouched down and examined Sivir lying on the ground.
Azir froze when he saw Sivir's face. He reached out his bandaged hand, grabbed a handful of blood-soaked yellow sand, held it in front of his eyes, and gently brushed it across her pale cheek.
He didn't recognize her, but her familiar features reminded him of his own children. Then, he caught a glimpse of Charikar beside Sylvie, and a guess immediately formed in his mind.
Upon seeing the vicious wound on Sivir's back, Azir cast aside all thoughts of the Empire and power, his only remaining thought being to save her.
Azir lifted Sivir and led her to the ruins of a temple. As he approached, clear fresh water began to gush from the sunken ground, quickly filling a basin made of stones.
This place was once the heart of the Dawn Oasis, and the birthplace of the Mother of Life. Not only is Azir being renewed, but the long-parched heart of Shurima is also gradually being reborn.
The clear spring water contained wondrous energy, and Azir gently immersed Sivir in the healing water.
The rippling blue waves washed away the sand and dust clinging to her. Her black hair spread out with the waves, and her thick, dark eyelashes made her appear as if she were wearing makeup even with her eyes closed, her beauty untouched by the patina of the water.
In no time, the bloodstains on Sivir's body disappeared, and the fatal wound on her back gradually healed, leaving only a shallow scar.
But for some reason, Sivir did not wake up, and Azir did not ascend.
The gears of fate have jammed, and it seems that all signs have come to an end.
Wild Hunt, who was secretly observing everything, was somewhat confused. Why hadn't he succeeded? He had clearly gathered all the necessary conditions, hadn't he?
First, he brought Sivir to the brink of death, then Azir saved her. His selfless act moved the will of the underworld, allowing him to complete the unfinished ritual, ascend beyond the norm, rebuild his divine body, and obtain the power that should have belonged to him.
Could it be that... their alterations to this matter resulted in an overly contrived performance, which was noticed by the so-called "divine will," leading to the cancellation of their original destiny?
The answer is unknown.
Seeing Azir waiting by the pool for Sivir to wake up, Wild Hunt felt there was still a chance. Perhaps he should give them some more time, so he turned back to help Kai'Sa and the others who were in dire straits.
Chapter 419 Melee
Xerath's eyes were now fixed on Charikar, the cage from which he had been imprisoned for a thousand years and had finally escaped, and now he desperately wanted to go back.
Driven by him, Renekton roared impatiently, dragging his weapon on his front paws and charging wildly, smashing all the stone pillars in his path.
Kai'Sa and her companion retreated, but the unstoppable Crocodile God crashed into the tomb's gate. This time, instead of breaking through the gate, it caused the ceiling to collapse, and the sand burying the ancient capital leaked out of the hole like sand in an hourglass, sprinkling onto Renekton's head.
He shook his head, locked his gaze on Cassiopeia below again, and his thick forelimbs pressed down heavily like five fingers on a mountain.
Cassiopeia raised her arms to defend herself with all her might, her powerful armor and muscle bundles bulging violently, unleashing a power strong enough to withstand even a god.
In her Assault Form, Cassiopeia is only the size of one hand of Renekton's ascended form, yet she can withstand the pressure of his entire arm.
Renekton was astonished and pressed all his weight onto his claws. The mountain-like weight cracked the ground, and Cassie's feet sank deeper and deeper into it.
She used her tail to grab Charikar and throw him to Kasha. When Witch Spirit saw the key in Kasha's hand, she immediately chased after her and then stabbed the drill tip of her tail into the palm of the Crocodile God.
Renekton's brow scales arched as the roaring drill pierced through them. What flowed from the wound was not blood, but shimmering golden sand.
He ignored the stinging pain and continued to press Cassiopeia deeper into the ground, but the intense burning pain that followed made him abruptly pull his hand back.
Cassiopeia's spine emitted a death ray capable of annihilating everything, leaving crisscrossing scars on his palms, the wounds constantly emitting black smoke from dissolving matter.
"Xerath, I'll make up for the Void War you missed!"
"You arrogant mortal, I'll tear you to pieces!!!"
The mortal's provocation enraged Renekton, who roared and swung his sword down. Cassiopeia, instead of retreating, advanced and rammed into Renekton's ankle, causing the Crocodile God to stumble!
Its massive body collapsed with a crash, then displayed an agility far beyond its size. Renekton rolled to his feet, and a powerful sweep from the whip's tail struck the unsuspecting Cassiopeia.
Cassiopeia was flung against the temple wall, unable to pry herself off, leaving a human-shaped dent. Renekton swung his crescent-shaped axe alternately with his left and right hands, then gripped it tightly with both hands and brought it down on Cassiopeia.
The next moment, Kai'Sa suddenly appeared on Renekton's shoulder.
Her right hand gripped the World Rune tightly, thick steam billowing wildly from between her fingers, and her fist, accelerated by multiple bursts, delivered a simple, unadorned straight punch to Renekton's face.
The seemingly weak straight punch shattered the barrier between the material and spiritual realms, sending the Crocodile God's soul flying and plunging him into a state of stagnation, as if his soul had left his body.
The lost, crazed soul found a moment of peace, but was immediately dragged back to reality by the searing pain. The white comet that had been tracking Kai'Sa struck the Crocodile God's shoulder, making him stagger.
"Are you blind?!" Renekton retorted angrily, the gust of wind generated by his sweeping crescent-shaped axe forcing Xerath back.
"You're blocking my way, you eyesore."
Xerath continued to fire endless white flames at Kai'Sa, who used the Ascended's massive body as cover and escaped the attacks unscathed.
Renekton raised his foot to stomp on the annoying pest, but he was no match for Kaisa's speed. He twisted his body into a pretzel but couldn't catch a hair on Kaisa's head. He was completely outmaneuvered.
In a fit of rage, he awakened the will of the sand sea, and countless grains of sand swirled around him, growing ever more intense until they transformed into a terrifying sandstorm capable of crushing even bones.
The sandstorm shielded Kai'Sa from the elements; the high-speed sand easily scratched her skin and nails. If she were to force her arm inside, it would likely be reduced to dust in an instant. (The last two lines appear to be unrelated and possibly machine-generated text.)
However, it would be too simplistic to think that this alone could restrain Kai'Sa. She started running again, and after reaching the same speed as the wind, she entered the storm.
Even a level 12 sandstorm has a wind speed of only 100 meters per second, which is nothing to her as she can easily exceed the speed of sound.
She stepped on the gas and accelerated with a roar. Like a grain of sand in the wind, she had already circled the Renekton and overtaken it in an instant.
Kai'Sa ran continuously around the arena, the trail of lightning behind her forming a dazzling halo around Renekton. The sandstorm, controlled by the Celestial Warrior's magic, was accelerated by the wind generated by her running, growing faster and faster, howling incessantly.
"This...this is impossible!" Renekton felt he was losing control of the sandstorm he had summoned. It was utterly absurd that a mortal had stripped him of his power as the god of the desert simply by using his legs!
At this moment, he could no longer control the sandstorm around him. It formed a wall around Renekton, and with its terrifying speed, even the smallest grains of sand could be transformed into the world's strongest wall.
If you don't find the right angle and cut in at a speed greater than or equal to the wind speed, and just recklessly crash into it, even a god's body forged from the sun will be shattered to pieces in an instant.
How could Renekton tolerate being trapped in a sandstorm, a humiliation his people had never suffered in the past hundred years?
"Help!" Renekton yelled. "Brother! He's too strong! I have to win!"
His words were meaningless, but Kai'Sa stopped bothering him because of them. Renekton wildly swung his axe, trying to cleave through the wind wall.
His movements appeared as slow as melting ice to Kai'Sa. She dodged the blade and sped towards Xerath, whipping up a sandstorm.
Amidst screams, the Sandstorm Serpent mercilessly devoured Xerath, as if it had been struck head-on by a speeding train. The chains on its body and the coffin were worn away by the sand.
But Xerath did not fall. He transformed into a formless energy entity, engulfed in blue-white flames, with an increasingly intense light emanating from his arcane core. It surpassed the sun, like a supernova explosion.
"I am eternally immortal!"
The power of destruction swept everything away.
Countless white flames erupted from Xerath's chest, transforming into a rain of fire that ignited everything in its path. Storms of lightning raged through the space, crushing anything fragile. Fierce pillars of fire continued to spew forth, turning the earth into a blazing inferno.
Under the all-out attack, Kasha had nowhere to land and no way to launch an effective counterattack with Charikar. She could only take Cassiopeia into the space capsule to escape the catastrophe.
Just then, the Wild Hunt came looking for Charikar, so Kai'Sa gave it to him to prevent it from falling into Xerath's hands.
Those two Darkin are definitely doomed, and even Renekton might not escape unscathed. Xerath's indiscriminate attacks will surely give him a hard time.
Chapter 420 Siege
The hall in front of the door, after being bombarded by Zelas, reached the limit of what the materials could withstand and finally collapsed with a mournful cry.
Like an underwater tunnel collapsing, countless yellow sands surged in from the sea of sand overhead, burying everything like a tsunami.
Kasa and Cassiopeia are trapped in the vesicle space, buried deep in the collapsed underground city. Kasa can only travel within a fifty-meter radius of herself, and no matter which direction she opens a door, she cannot find a place to stay.
This greatly worried her; she had never encountered such a situation before. This was not a long-term solution; the fragile spatial vesicle would soon be crushed by the friction between the two worlds, and the two of them would be annihilated along with it.
She can handle such a powerful enemy with ease; it would be too ridiculous if she died from a "terrain kill".
Fortunately, Wild Hunt was keeping an eye on both sides. After calming Sivir down, he immediately came over to help Kai'Sa.
