Chapter 106: Bai Xin Shangren

The Taishan Lord Ceremony requires a life in exchange for another life. This is the embodiment of the highest realm of Yin-Yang Taoism.

Abe Haruaki spent his entire life meditating, but he only realized the principle of exchanging death for life.

Although Naraku didn't know much about this, he didn't believe that Kikyo would hand himself over to Miroku, so he didn't say anything, but just looked at the people gathered together.

The same hatred.

Naraku also knew that if he was not there, these people would never gather together and intersect. He was like a spider web, and many enemies came here from different directions along the silk threads.

These people all have the same purpose, but this is really lively...

For a moment, Naraku's already dead eyes looked even darker, Kagome noticed Naraku's subtle changes and sighed inwardly, at this point, there was no point in saying anything else.

Miroku's request was a bit too much. Kikyo shook her head. Naraku had countless enemies. Not to mention Coral, Amber and Miroku, even Seshomaru and Inuyasha hated him to the core. But compared to the grudges between these people and Naraku, she was more qualified to deal with Naraku.

Kikyo shook her head and said, "After Naraku dies, the wind hole curse will naturally dissolve. Naraku cannot be handed over to you."

This curse has been a nightmare that has haunted the Maitreya lineage for decades. It dances on the tip of a knife. As they grow older, the wind hole on their right hand will expand, and the more they use it, the faster it will expand until it devours itself.

Maitreya is a playboy and has the burden of continuing his offspring, so he has always been eager to find several wives to have children, but he has a strong sense of responsibility and good character. He knows that he is a big pit, and others who fall into it will be a lifetime. He is strong, has no shortage of money, and pays great attention to feelings. He can't spend money to buy a wife. Although many women admire him, for Maitreya, this admiration is even more of a burden. He will die soon, so how can he let the person who likes him become a widow for him.

He has a high emotional intelligence and knows that he is being too stubborn, but that is his nature, so he keeps struggling, often tossing and turning, and unable to sleep all night. He knows that Shanhu has feelings for him, but he never dares to take the next step, for fear that he will be moved by Shanhu one day and can't control himself and confess.

But now, all worries are gone, Naraku's head is right in front of him, and even a calm and rational person like Miroku can hardly suppress his excitement.

But after being rejected by Kikyo, he quickly regained his composure, took a deep breath, realized that he had lost his composure, apologized in his heart, and then said: "Naraku has done many evil things, and being able to sacrifice his last life for Kikyo Miko is his greatest value."

Kikyo looked cold and looked at Naraku, showing no extra expression. Jialuo came over and said that he couldn't find a suitable place, so he planned to return to the shrine to revive Kikyo.

Maitreya pondered for a moment, and then said: "If it's a venue, I know one."

Jia Luo and Kikyo looked over, and Miroku pointed in the direction he came from: "There is a Dharma Hall over there, enshrining a very powerful monk."

Kikyo looked over and whispered, "Is that the source of the barrier?"

"The wise eyes of the priestess Kikyo." Maitreya nodded. They had previously followed Kikyo's instructions to find the source of the magic power and met the monk who looked like a mummy.

Bai Xinshang!

From the communication, they learned the origin of this master, who lived more than a hundred years ago. He saved people from suffering during his lifetime and turned himself into a Buddha in the flesh after his death, just for the sentient beings living on this land.

But at the last moment, the noble and great intentions could not be carried through to the end. The human desire for survival and the fear of death caused a flaw in Bai Xinshang's heart.

Finally, after a hundred years of silence, he was found by Naraku and set up a barrier to protect Naraku.

But this communication was not smooth, because Naraku was evil, and Bai Xinshangren was an accomplice to evil. A respectable monk was bewitched, Kagome and Sango were outraged, but Miroku remembered Kikyo's instructions and always treated him with courtesy. In the end, he couldn't make sense, so he had to use the power of the wind hole to break the core barrier, and finally let Naraku show his true self.

Miroku and Coral led the way to the ruins caused by the disappearance of Bailing Mountain. Sesshomaru was about to leave, but when he heard that Kikyo was going to be resurrected, he was curious and followed.

A mountain is naturally extremely large. Although Naraku has trained the entire mountain into his own flesh and blood, Bailing Mountain is not an isolated mountain. Master Bai Xin and the Dharma Hall are located on the nearby mountain, but are now submerged in rubble.

"Although I have broken the barrier, the body of Master Bai Xin is too heavy to be absorbed by the wind hole, and the Dharma Hall is also safe and sound." Maitreya led the team and explained on the way that if Kikyo wanted to perform a ceremony, the Dharma Hall would be the most suitable place as it is the gathering point of spiritual energy. However, it is quite rare that the core of the barrier is not in the center but on the edge. However, it also indirectly shows how powerful Master Bai Xin is.

They had just confronted Master Bai Xin and were still feeling some lingering fear. It was the first time they had seen a practitioner of this level and they truly felt what great power was.

"Master Bai Xin didn't hurt us, he just maintained the barrier and didn't make things difficult for us. But I can't understand why a senior like him would choose to help Naraku. Can't he see Naraku's evil nature?" Coral didn't understand at all. The barrier here even suppressed Garo, and she felt it was very unfair.

Kagome thought so too. She was kind and simple, but she also had some resentment towards Inuyasha because when Inuyasha first came here, he was almost defeated and turned into a human.

Now is not the time to return to the moon. The demonic power did not dissipate naturally due to the changes in the world, but was forcibly expelled. This violent and extreme way of dispersing the demonic power would put a huge burden on Inuyasha and would cause him great pain.

These words fell into their ears, and although they were explaining the situation, even they themselves did not realize that their words were filled with misunderstanding and complaints towards their loved ones.

But Platycodon remained silent, as calm as an ancient well, and moved forward silently.

Human hearts are treacherous, complex and changeable, and even practitioners are no exception. There are no pure saints in this world, only humans who aspire to be saints. However, the road ahead is endless and there is no hope, so it is normal for them to fall into depravity.

The group walked through the pile of stones and eventually saw a slightly messy hall in the ruins. After walking a few dozen steps, a sacred building appeared. In the main hall, a golden mummy sat upright on the altar.

This place should have been destroyed by the double blow of the disappearance of the Wind Cave and Bailing Mountain, but it was protected by the magic power of Master Bai Xin, it just appears a little damaged. Naraku sent people to build this building in order to make the barrier of Master Bai Xin reach its strongest level.

When Kikyo saw Master Bai Xin, her eyes moved slightly, a little sharp, but she seemed to have noticed something, revealing some sadness. She stepped forward into the hall and bowed.

"I am a believer named Kikyo, and I am honored to meet you, the great monk!"

Chapter 107: Sadness

Kikyo looked very respectful and bowed his head.

Master Bai Xin was wearing a monk's robe, his withered body was motionless like a rotten wood, his skin was like dead bark, with wrinkles and gullies all over, his pupils were round and bloodshot, he sat upright, put one hand together in a gesture of greeting, and opened a circular golden barrier to wrap himself.

"Mikoto, Naraku has already been defeated, why are you here?" An old voice came from Master Bai Xin.

Kikyo looked at the monk with a peaceful and compassionate look in her eyes: "I came to you because of your sorrow and pain."

"Are you trying to save me? You are overestimating your own abilities." The words of Master Bai Xin were full of vicissitudes. This master really had the confidence to say so. He was a practitioner who was unrivaled in the world. His magical powers were almost psychic and had transformed into spiritual power.

"I dare not mention the word salvation in front of you." Kikyo whispered, "Besides, you are the savior of all living beings. Who is qualified to save you?"

This is a practitioner who has reached the extreme. Whether in terms of magic power or state of mind, he has reached the pinnacle of this world. One step further is to the realm of gods and Buddhas.

Perhaps, even the gods are no match for him.

But he only has the mind and magic power, but not the ability to save the world. Even if he has great power, he is unable to solve natural disasters, man-made disasters and plagues.

Eventually, the old monk fell down, but for the sake of all the people on this land, he buried himself alive when his life was coming to an end, intending to transform himself into a Buddha in the flesh, and protect this land for thousands of years.

But later the plan failed. Humans cannot escape human nature. Even highly respected monks with great magical powers cannot face the great terror and are eventually taken advantage of by Naraku.

This is what Kikyo saw. Her eyes saw scenes from this land over the past hundreds of years.

"You helped the world when you were alive, but after your death you lost your integrity and fell into this state, unable to escape. Are you willing to accept this?"

Master Bai Xin was a little surprised: "The ability to know fate? The legendary ability to know all karma from ancient times to the present has actually awakened in a witch. You used the ability to know fate to see my past, and do you feel pity for me because of it?"

This is a magical power that even he could not realize. The ability to know destiny is related to fate. Who is the origin of this witch?

Kikyo said in a deep voice: "My magical power has not yet been fully revealed. I can only see a corner of the past. What really made me appear in front of you is your regret that attracted me."

Kikyo said with emotion: "Even if he is a superior, he is still a human being!"

Master Bai Xin was silent for a moment, and ripples appeared in the circular barrier, showing that he was quite uneasy.

In the eyes of bystanders, both sides were having a peaceful discussion, and only Garo and Naraku vaguely understood Kikyo's intention.

As human beings with a short lifespan, in this group there are despicable evil people who do evil and there are also noble great people with great love. However, every human being is complex and contradictory. Innocent children can also develop malice, and the executioner with blood on his hands will also put down his butcher knife one day.

After a long while, Master Bai Xin spoke: "I have heard that the saints, gods, and Buddhas in the legend can truly save mankind and make mankind no longer suffer. Therefore, I long to become such a being, and I must become such a being."

But later, Master Bai Xin failed because he could not control his obsession with life.

"My soul will stay here forever, full of resentment. Naraku made me hate those humans and curse them because I protected them when I was alive, even burying myself alive to protect humans forever. But no one has ever considered me, no one has ever thought about me..." When Master Bai Xin said this, his voice trembled a little, but his body had already become a mummy and he could not make any expression.

Kikyo's eyes softened, they were extremely gentle eyes, and a layer of glow seemed to emerge on her fair face, it was a warm light that made people yearn for it.

Kagome, Coral and others were stunned when they heard this, and then felt ashamed. Master Bai Xin was too harsh on them, but the world was even harsher.

Kagome's eyes dimmed as she recalled an event from the past, when the Sword of Hades opened the Underworld, and Kikyo asked Miroku to wait more than ten years before closing it. She was also puzzled at that time, as Kikyo clearly had the ability to close it, so why did she have to wait until the future.

At that time she realized that Kikyo was also a human being, and when she was exhausted, all the burdens could not be placed on her.

But now, she made the same mistake. She only saw Bai Xinshang protecting Naraku, but she didn't know that only Naraku was thinking for Bai Xinshang.

Even though Naraku had bewitched Bai Xinshang, for a drowning person, as long as he saw a straw, he would grab it at all costs.

Now think about it, although Master Bai Xin lost his integrity in his later years, who could remain calm in the face of such a situation?

Even Kikyo, when she was resurrected, wasn't she also controlled by resentment?

"I just want to know where your sadness comes from." Kikyo walked slowly towards me.

"Sad?" Master Bai Xin repeated the word.

What does this witch mean by sadness?

It has to be said that even though he was a highly accomplished monk, Master Bai Xin's ending was not very good. In other words, he did not have a good end.

Therefore, Naraku made him hate humans, and even Bai Xinshangren thought that his soul was filled with resentment.

"You haven't noticed it yourself? I only saw an intense sadness in your soul. What is the reason why you linger in this world?" Kikyo came to the altar, her eyes were clear, like a mirror that illuminates the world, penetrating people's hearts and looking directly at Bai Xinshang.

Bai Xinshang was stunned for a moment.

Kikyo pondered for a moment, carefully sensing something, and then he was relieved and sighed, "Can I touch you?"

But Master Bai Xin said, "Your realm has surpassed mine. I can't stop you from doing anything. Why bother asking for my opinion?"

Kikyo shook her head: "After all, you are a sage worthy of respect." She felt it necessary to ask Master Bai Xin for his opinion.

The voice of Master Bai Xin was neither sad nor happy: "I did something after my death and protected Naraku. Even so, do you still respect me?"

Kikyo looked at him calmly: "How can I be a superficial person? In the past years, I have also worked diligently to fulfill my mission and guide the confused people."

Master Bai Xin was silent for a few seconds, and then the barrier dissipated silently.

"Miko, since you are a similar person, then your ending should also be a bad death. Otherwise, how could you return to this world again."

"Isn't it a good death? Ever since I became a miko, I no longer have any worries. In the past, I embarked on the path of Shura and killed countless monsters. How can I get a good result like this?"

Kikyo said this, moved closer, placed her hands on Bai Xinshang's back, and gently embraced the mummy in her arms.

As she observed, there was no resentment in the heart of Bai Xinshang.

Chapter 108: Preparation for Resurrection

Buddha in the flesh, this is the realm of Buddha.

The body and soul are united as one, inseparable; touching the body is equivalent to touching the soul.

Kikyo is proficient in hypnosis. She is a deceased person herself. She has traveled to the underworld many times and has a great understanding of the soul. She can easily find the spiritual world of life. Bai Xinshang's realm before his death was very high. It cannot be said to be flawless, but it is also a level that is difficult to invade.

But it’s different now. My mind is scattered and my will is weak. It’s easy for others to take advantage of me. Even Naraku dares to penetrate into the depths of Bai Xinshang’s soul, let alone Kikyo.

The dark spiritual world is as tranquil as water and full of Zen, indicating its profound realm.

A monk in a white robe was sitting cross-legged on it, looking painful and sad, but as Kikyo hugged him, the painful expression eased and gradually returned to normal.

Naraku can bewitch Bai Xinshangren, but that's all. Bai Xinshangren is the pinnacle of practitioners. Even if such a strong person has lost himself, he cannot be ordered around at will and cannot be used as a tool.

Even Naraku only dared to let Master Bai Xin open the barrier to hide the filth, or make excessive demands, such as asking Bai Xin to deal with Kikyo and Gala.

Because once you make such a request, you will end up losing more than you gain, which will easily make your lover resist.

This is a strong person. As long as he exists, he is a great deterrent in himself.

Kikyo hugged her white lover, she opened her arms with her sleeves wide, her heart was kind and broad, with a different kind of warmth.

And Kikyo finally understood where Bai Xinshang's sadness came from.

That is the cruelty of reality to a devotee.

When buried alive underground, as long as Master Bai Xin passed away normally, he would appear as a Buddha in the flesh. However, the opposite happened and Master Bai Xin failed to break free from the comfort of human nature.

At the moment of death, he hesitated and felt fear.

At this moment, his mind fell into the endless hell, suffering torment and destruction, so his soul remained here forever.

She whispered something. "All the sorrow and regrets come from the imperfections of human nature. As human beings, we are destined not to think like saints and gods. You are making things difficult for yourself. You want to become sacred, just to open up a bright path for the suffering people on this land..."

But no one is perfect. This idea is too heavy and too beautiful, and it can easily crush everyone from ancient times to the present.

Because, this is to become a Buddha through one's own enlightenment.

Buddhas are enlightened beings, and beings are unenlightened Buddhas. This path exists, but it is a dead end for humans.

Kikyo didn't continue speaking, but through contact, her mind had already conveyed this idea.

"The vision in your heart is so beautiful that I have no intention of denying it. You have done enough for mankind, please take a rest."

"Is this okay?" Master Bai Xin murmured to himself. In Kikyo's arms, he felt like crying and wanted to cry without restraint.

"Yes, your mission has been accomplished." Kikyo said compassionately. He had already done this much and no one could blame Bai Xinshang.

Master Bai Xin's soul calmed down, his sorrow gradually faded away, and his mind was freed from hell.

He longed to become a perfect saint, so he was reluctant to accept his imperfect self. Only now has he truly come out of his psychological shadow.

"Your embrace is so warm, but your body is so cold. My dear priestess of the dead, I am about to become a Buddha, but what about you?" Master Bai Xin asked at the moment of his death, very worried about Kikyo's future.

"Don't worry about me. I have ended my own destiny and found my own destination."
