It is obvious that they wanted to use Chen Duxiu's influence to strengthen their own power, but were also afraid that Chen Duxiu would take away their power after joining.

Chen Duxiu said that he was only willing to accept the fourth condition at most, which was already a big concession, but "I said" insisted that Chen Duxiu submit completely.

At this time, another group of Trotskyist representatives, Liu Renjing and others, who were commissioned by Trotsky, returned to China after visiting Trotsky in Türkiye and founded the October Society.

They posed as "genuine old-line orthodox Trotskyists" and "Trotsky's spokespersons" in an attempt to reconcile the contradiction between Chen Duxiu and "my words";

With no other options, Chen Duxiu pulled together Peng Shuzhi and others to set up the "Left Opposition of the Chinese Communist Party", also known as the "Proletarian Society".

Now, both "I Say" and "October" were unhappy. They thought Chen Duxiu was ignoring "orthodoxy" and began to attack him together. Later, a small Trotskyist organization called "Combat Society" also joined in, and a four-way fight broke out.

The strange thing is that while "Wo Shuo" and "October Society" attacked each other and attacked Chen Duxiu, they also fought among themselves, which led to the expulsion of Liang Ganqiao, the founder of "Wo Shuo", and Liu Renjing, the founder of "October Society".
