Miss Witch's Forbidden Book Secret

The voice, though spoken by the coachman just a few steps away, sounded to Tia as if it were hundreds of meters away, muffled by the pattering rain and the thin mist of the street.
The driver smiled and said, "She's gotten involved in things she shouldn't have. That's very unwise of her."
"You're right, aren't you, Lord Bonaparte?"
Chapter 243 The Heavenly Man and the Hand of Transformation
With a crisp click, Tia instantly chambered a round for the heavy revolver hidden in her sleeve, as the rain outside the window rapidly intensified.
"Imperians, or Arabians?!"
"Huh? What did you say?"
The coachman gripped the reins tightly, looking puzzled. His accent was completely different from what Tia had heard before, and it was full of elisions and abbreviations, quite different from the clear, standard mainland language he had spoken earlier.
As she turned around, Tia looked into the driver's eyes. They were dull and clouded, typical of someone who was overworked and sleep-deprived. He couldn't possibly be a superhuman.
hateful.......
Was it an illusion that distorted her perception, or did it pull her into a dream?
The latter is unlikely; if she were forcibly cursed to dive deep, it couldn't have been done without anyone noticing.
Tia looked out the window; they were almost at the banks of the Broken Gold River. She explained, "I was a little tired just now, and I probably fell asleep. I mumbled some things in my sleep."
"I see. You must get some rest, sir! I just saw you in the car, silent and looking like you were about to faint..."
The driver chuckled and casually offered a few words of concern.
—Tia gave him two more silver shields.
Tia turned to look out the window, put away her heavy revolver, and said, "Thank you for your concern. Please take me to the Broken Gold River Hotel. You should also hurry back; I see the rain is getting heavier."
After she finished speaking, the ruts on the road were washed away by the rain, and Tia got out of the car and walked towards the main entrance of the hotel.
But just behind her, far away, directly opposite the rickety carriage with its rumbling auxiliary steam turbine, a gentleman in a black suit, holding a black umbrella, leaned against the iron railing on the riverbank as if attending someone's funeral, chuckling as he looked towards the Grand Hotel.
Before long, two young men who looked like restaurant waiters ran up to him with umbrellas and whispered, "Sir, our boss, Chef Klitzer, would like to invite you to the Observatory area."
"interesting."
"Huh? Sir, what's interesting?"
"With the soul strength of a Sequence 7, even if it were a great philosopher who has mastered the art of transcending opposites, the illusion I created with Star Antimony should have been able to fool them for most of the day. But the ritual couldn't even last a few words."
One of the young men said, "That sounds pretty dangerous."
“Of course it’s dangerous, silly child. This Miss Furnessa Bonaparte is probably not as simple as Klitzer said. Her ability to kill Cameron probably wasn’t Bernice’s doing.”
Another young man with freckles asked, "Are you going to kill her?"
"No, that won't do. At least not now. Rexar's potions haven't all been delivered to their designated locations yet, so there's no need to expose ourselves now."
The gentleman had one of the young men hold his umbrella and strolled over, saying, "Don't rush to the observatory area. Your underground hideout is probably going to be raided by the observatory police. Where's your boss?"
"Still in the restaurant at the port, sir."
The two young men scratched their heads and said this.
The gentleman was taken aback and exclaimed in surprise, "You mean that the prophet Klitsch, who killed at least five thousand people back then, is still living in that wretched port of Mistmoon City and running a shop?"
"Ah! Not only does our boss run a shop, he also cooks. His smoked bacon is delicious, sir!"
"......"
The gentleman, suppressing his temper, said, "I don't care how bacon he's smoking; now I'll get him to get the potion to the designated location as soon as possible."
The young man holding the umbrella for him whispered, "Sir, isn't this a crime? Those cops have been cracking down really hard lately; a lot of our brothers have just died..."
"You bunch of Arabian people who smuggled yourselves here are committing a crime!"
"But smoking bacon isn't a crime..."
My point is bacon, you bastard!
You people from Tianfang came here and the Iris Flower organization has become just like the Iris Flower people, a complete shoddy operation!
Another young man quickly said, "Sir, it's not that we don't want to help, but we have indeed encountered a tricky problem."
"Richard, the police chief of the Observatory District, is a powerful figure. The Montellima family, behind him, controls many freight businesses, large and small, throughout the city. We're even having trouble sending our goods out of town. This time, the tavern's hideout was taken down because of the Montellima family and Richard..."

It is indeed a tricky problem.
Before Tia could figure out who the enemy was, the enemy attacked first and dragged her directly into the illusion!
As soon as they returned to the Broken Gold River Hotel, Tia immediately called Scarlett over.
Scarlett was also taken aback when she heard Tia say that.
She had always known about Commander Sulph's combat prowess, even though her Sequence Level was only 7. However, she also had some complicated entanglements with that mysterious witch.
It's amazing that you can be dragged into an illusion without even realizing it.
This is no ordinary traitor; Ms. Bernice must strike hard!
But Tia pulled Scarlett back and reminded her, "We can't let Ms. Bernice go up there."
Bernice's situation is very special.
Or perhaps Eleanor's situation is exceptional. Bernice's primary duty is to protect Eleanor, and she would never allow her gaze to stray too far from Eleanor's. For this reason alone, Ms. Bernice would absolutely not agree to help Tia.
Scarlett was dumbfounded. "Sir! At this point, it would be safest to have Ms. Bernice directly identify the enemy. I'm still in the extraordinary realm..."
"No. Ms. Bernice cannot be transferred."
Tia refused again.
Before Tia could finish speaking and explain further, Scarlett was initially puzzled, but then suddenly realized.
Scarlett, Scarlett! How could you be so foolish—Commander Sulph had a much closer witch to ask for help, why did you have to go to such lengths to ask Ms. Bernice for assistance?
She hasn't seen the witch unleash her true power yet.
Scarlett asked expectantly, "So, are you going to use the witch's power now?"
"What kind of power..." Tia didn't understand what the child was thinking, but as long as she understood, she explained, "Next, prepare the weapons and come with me to the police station immediately."
"Police...police station?"
Scarlett never expected to hear that word again when she went to the iris garden.
Especially since she had recently received a transfer order, she was about to be transferred out of the Anti-Smuggling Bureau and have her records deleted. This made the policewoman very depressed.
Future prospects are secondary.
The main problem is that I won't get my pension after deleting the records...
Scarlett immediately returned to her room, taking with her the longsword and leather-lined soft armor that the Anti-Suppression Bureau had not yet recovered, as well as a heavy revolver and dozens of mithril bullets.
Still confused, she asked, "Sir! What are we going to the police station for?"
"Twenty-one days until the council meeting on Tower Street, Scarlett."
Tia suddenly said something completely unrelated, and several spirit crows cawed and crashed through the glass, bursting in through the window and startling Scarlett.
These crows...
Is this the Church's Crows Seal?! But hasn't it been banned from use because it's been contaminated?
Scarlett's mind went blank for a moment.
Then Scarlett witnessed an even more horrifying scene.
Commander Sulph is talking to these spirit crows!
The young woman stood upright, leaning on her cane, letting the crows circle around her. She instructed them, "Please inform Holly Corcia that it's time to collect the debt, but I need her assistance. Have her report to the main gate of the Castle District Police Headquarters today; I will pay her extra. Also, send one more letter to the Montreal family mansion."
Chapter 244 Thunder in the Rainy Night
The crow and the newspaper arrived at Holly's house at the same time.
Holly didn't have the habit of reading newspapers, especially the weekly Brumaire Political News—but not because the newspaper was too serious or the content too rigid.
It was because she barely knew any words and had no money...
Now that Holly has money, she won't subscribe to these strange and useless newspapers, so the subscriber to "Brumaire Politics" isn't her, but her dog.
The big dog lay on the sofa, its long-haired legs dangling in the air. Two tentacles emerged from under its furry bottom and the base of its fluffy tail, holding a newspaper in front of its eyes. Two more tentacles thoughtfully provided it with a pair of glasses so that its canine eyes could clearly see the densely packed, tiny text on the Foggy Moon political page.
"The council invited Farnas next month, I think he's an earl. Were his ancestors knights who followed Ludwig...? Oh, and there's also Chairman Klishkin. His medicinal wine is of very good quality, it's a pity it closed after the civil war. If they can get into the council, their factory should be able to resume production. Make a note of that, it's probably a good investment opportunity. I can buy some for Holly later..."
The newspapers were printed with full-body portraits of old nobles in magnificent attire, as well as half-length portraits of the various ministers of the Ministry of the Interior. Nobles made up about a quarter of the portraits.
The number is not large, but it is by no means small either; this time, the authorities are genuinely trying to form a parliament and an alliance.
Holly opened the letter, glanced at it, and understood the general meaning. Then she asked the big dog to read the words she didn't recognize, and asked with her head held high, "Dog, did you make money in the stock market?"
Upon hearing this, the big dog immediately put down the newspaper, his long, cylindrical mouth baring his teeth as he grinned.
"Ouroboros! Listen to me, Holly, the stock market is simply the greatest invention in human history, much more reliable than the casinos of Solomon's time! I've actually made almost three hundred gold coins this month, I've almost saved up enough for your maximum dose of potions next month!"
Holly nodded, bewildered.
She didn't understand how the stock market worked; it was basically gambling, I guess...
She's barely literate, so she probably won't make any money. But if dogs can make money in the stock market, humans must have it easy too. It's truly a great invention.
Holly was lost in thought when the big dog drew her attention to the potion.
The little girl opened a bottle of pain-relieving liniment containing tincture of opium, willow bark, witch hazel, arnica, and comfrey. She clenched her fist, showing much more strength than before. Thanks to Tia's timely arrival of her gold shield, Holly had enough funds to purchase large quantities of food and supplements, and successfully broke through the Sequence 6 advancement ritual that had troubled her for over a year just half a month ago.
However, because she had been starving for so long, her constitution was still too weak.
A normal, unsheathed blade Sequence 6 superhuman can consciously dodge bullets from a distance and protect against small-scale explosions simply by virtue of their superhuman characteristics, and can still function normally even after being hit by a two-horse carriage at high speed.
But Holly now imagines that if she were hit by a two-horse carriage, she would fly far, far away! And then land on her buttocks, which would split open and hurt.
While Holly was lost in thought, the big dog looked at the letter the crows had delivered and found it increasingly strange.
Why are there so many "kill" characters in this letter?!
Upon reaching the end, the large dog barked twice wildly, then suddenly jumped up from the sofa, exclaiming in shock:
"Holy crap! That witch's gotten herself into trouble with the Hand of Transformation?! Holly, you're not leaving here right now!"
"No."
Holly immediately rejected the idea, saying firmly, "Dog, you're coming with me."
The big dog circled Holly, baring its teeth, and said, "They've all gone mad! Holly, I can support you perfectly well now, at least until you reach Sequence 5. You should be thinking about your advancement instead of taking risks!"
"Dog, I refuse."
"Your mother..."
My mother is dead.
"Grass!"
"Sister Sulph—that's too much," Holly thought to herself.
She changed the way she addressed him in her heart.
Helping the Witch shouldn't be a problem. She's now Sequence 6 and can perform more rituals. The big dog has already taught her several extraordinary rituals related to the shadows, and now, if necessary, she can merge with the dog and directly enter the shadows.
It's much more useful than before!
So her next task is—
Holly opened the small box under her bed and took out the two daggers she had just received. They were two extraordinary weapons with a bleeding curse that Tia had given her. Although their only function was to make the wounds they created harder to heal, they were already incredibly good equipment for Holly.
Then there was a small bottle of poison, which Tia also sent.
Tia couldn't possibly use up the two vials of poison that came out of Cameron's body, not to mention the curse that the Victory Sword would cast upon its user after the Seven Swords. So Tia simply gave half of the vial to Holly.
Holly had never seen anything like it before, and she was a little uneasy when Tia brought it to her.
The witch is a good person!
Seeing Holly putting on her gear, the big dog dropped its newspaper and transformed into a shadow, following behind Holly and complaining, "Hey Holly, you have absolutely no responsibility or obligation towards that witch. Do you even know what she's up to? She's provoked the Hand of Transformation! You're only Sequence 6, why are you taking such a risk for her...?"
