Ghosts are not afraid of attacks from spells such as the Killing Curse. After all, they have already died and ordinary attacks cannot hurt them.

Even they are not dark creatures like evil spirits and demons, and cannot deal with ghosts in the same way as they deal with them.

Dui shook his head and decided not to think about it for the time being. He would wait and see what happened next.

Then he rode on the giant eagle and returned to the goblin cave.

After being busy for a long time, he had no other gains except signing in to obtain a Dark Mark magic. Instead, he encountered several troubles including evil spirits, goblins and wolf demons.

Dui felt that the first leg of this trip was not going well.

The goblin cave is winding and interconnected. All the goblins in the cave were burned to ashes by Dui's fierce fire, and it seems empty and silent.

Dui searched in the goblin cave and finally found the goblin's treasure house.

But looking at the pile of broken armor and weapons, as well as several boxes of copper coins, silver coins, and a small amount of gold coins and jewelry in the treasury, Dui could only curse his bad luck.

"What a poor fellow! This trip was in vain!"

Dui cursed as he put several boxes of treasure into his space bag, then turned and left the goblin cave.

As for the wolf's lair, there was nothing there except a pile of bones.

Dui could only leave Beigang in disappointment and fly west.

His next stop was to check in at Annúminas, and then head to the southwest Grey Havens.

Annúminas was once the capital of the northern Kingdom of Arnor. However, as the Kingdom of Arnor split into the kingdoms of Cardolan, Arthedain, and Rhudaur, Annúminas gradually lost its core position and was eventually abandoned.

It was not until the future when Aragorn became King of the United Kingdom of Arnor and Gondor that the city was rebuilt.

The distance between Annuminas and Fornost, the northern hill, is about the same as the distance between Weathertop and Fornost.

The giant eagle Thorondor carried Dui for a long time, and Dui saw a huge lake in the valley in the distance.

That was the Lake of Dusk, also known as Lake Nenúvió, near the city of Annúminas.

It is also the source of the River Brandywine, the border of the Shire.

Chapter 185 Annuminas

Dusk Lake is surrounded by rolling hills on three sides, with only a plain on the east side. The lake water flows eastward here, then turns south and finally flows into the sea.

Dui was riding on the back of a giant eagle, high above Dusk Lake, overlooking the area.

What comes into view are the ruins of a lakeside city built on the hillside, located southeast of the lake.

The city is ancient and magnificent, built entirely of white marble. Although it has experienced the ravages of time and war, Duy can still distinguish traces of trade markets, residential areas, pools, gardens, palaces and other man-made facilities from its still standing ancient buildings and ruins.

This is Annúminas, the capital of the lost kingdom of Arnor.

In the very center of the city of Annuminas, a magnificent round tower stands tall, almost level with the mountain top, and has stood for thousands of years.

That was the king's seat of power - the Chamber of Anuirandir.

The ancient kings of Arnor, even Elendil, had their offices here.

It is also the location of the Annúminas crystal, one of the three crystals of true knowledge in the Northern Kingdom, along with the Amon Sul crystal in the Weathertop tower.

Also housed here was the Scepter of Annúminas, which had originally belonged to Prince Andúnier of Númenor and later became a symbol of the kingship of Arnor.

When the Kingdom of Arnor was split, the Stone and Scepter of Annúminas were taken to Fornost, the capital of Arthedain.

When the Kingdom of Arthedain was finally destroyed by the Witch-king of Angmar, the Annúminas and Amon Sul crystals were taken away by the last king of Arthedain on a ship across the sea, but unfortunately they sank into the sea.

Only the Scepter of Annúminas was rescued by the people after the Witch-king of Angmar captured the city of Fornost and was then entrusted to Elrond for safekeeping.

Dui had seen it in Rivendell, lying beside the broken sword Nasir.

To the east of the city lies the Road of the Kings - the cemetery of the kings of Arnor, including the tomb of Elendil, the founder of the Kingdom of Arnor.

In addition, there are magnificent city gates and tall city walls.

Even though it has been abandoned for many years, this city, once the largest city in the north, still exudes indescribable beauty and historical weight.

It is not known whether to call this city lucky or unfortunate. Annúminas was abandoned voluntarily, so it was not destroyed by the Witch-king of Angmar's army like other cities such as Fornost.

Therefore, the main buildings of the entire city have been preserved intact.

If it can be properly restored, this declining city may be able to regain its former glory.

After admiring the scenery of the city of Annúminas, Dui patted the giant eagle beneath him.

"Sorondo, go down first."

He was about to land in the city of Annuminas and check in first.

However, just as the giant eagle was about to approach the city of Annuminas, several figures appeared from the corner of the city below, holding bows and arrows high, looking at the giant eagle and Dui on its back with vigilance and alertness.

Dui noticed them and, seeing their distinctive features of tall stature, handsome appearance and dark hair, he immediately had a guess.

"Are you a friend of the Dunedain? I mean no harm." Dui's voice was not loud, but it reached the ears of the people below accurately and clearly, as if he was speaking into their ears.

The pupils of the people below shrank, knowing that the person coming was extraordinary. They lowered their bows and arrows, but remained vigilant.

Especially when looking at the giant eagle's extremely huge body and huge wings that stirred up strong winds, I was terrified.

The giant eagle flapped its wings and landed in a wide area that looked like a square.

Dui jumped down from the eagle's back and walked towards the wary people with a friendly smile on his face.

"Don't be alarmed, everyone. I was just passing by and saw this magnificent ancient city. I came down to admire it. Please forgive me if I disturbed you!"

"Who are you?" asked one of the oldest Dúnedain, who looked to be around forty or fifty years old.

"I'm Dui'er, and I live on the top of the world." Dui introduced himself with a smile.

Several of the Dúnedain looked surprised. "Are you Duell the Black Wizard? The Dragon Lord?"

"Then it should be me." Dui nodded with a smile.

Seeing this, several Dunedain relaxed and put away their bows and arrows.

"I am Talmir," the elder Dúnedain introduced himself, and then introduced his companions. "This is Kellen, Kellum, Anfalas, and Fendal. We are all the people who protect this place."

He then tentatively asked, "Where is Wizard Duyle going? Why is he passing by here?"

Dui didn't pay attention to the other party's temptation and was a little surprised.

"I heard that Annúminas was long abandoned, but I didn't expect there were still people guarding it. As for me, I am going to the Grey Havens to visit the lord there.

I happened to be visiting some historical sites along the way, so I went to visit Fornost, the northern hill, first. Unfortunately, it has become a ruin, so I can only come to Annúminas to admire the remains of the ancient city.

Talmir was shocked when he heard this. "You've been to Fornost? Did you not awaken the evil spirits sleeping there?"

Dui shook his head. "My luck wasn't very good. Not only did I encounter evil spirits, but I also encountered goblins and demon wolves. It was indeed a bit troublesome."

Several of the Dúnedain were startled.

They naturally knew about the evil spirit of Fornost, so they never went near the place for fear of awakening the evil spirit there. In order to prevent outsiders from breaking in, they even fanned the flames and spread the rumor that Fornost was haunted to scare away tourists.

As for goblins, they had also heard of them.

Those were the scattered orcs left behind in the North Hills after the Witch-king of Angmar destroyed the Kingdom of Arthedain and was defeated by the coalition of humans and elves.

Apart from occasionally coming down the mountain to rob tourists, there is nothing to be afraid of.

But I didn’t expect that there were still demon wolves in Beigang!

The Dunedain have spent almost their entire lives fighting against dark creatures to defend the lost kingdom of Arnor in the north, and naturally they have encountered demon wolves.

The cunning and strength of the demon wolf have long been deeply rooted in people's hearts. Orcs and wargs can't compare with it at all. They have also suffered heavy losses because of the demon wolf in the past.

That's why Talmir was so frightened when he heard about the existence of the demon wolf.

Seeing the solemn expressions of the Dunedain, Dui smiled and reassured them, "But don't worry. I've already dealt with the evil spirits, goblins, and demon wolves in the North Hill. There's no danger there now."

"You solved them all?!" Several Dunedain were very shocked.

Dui explained calmly, "It's not far from Fengyun Hills, and there's a plain in between. If they were to move south and invade Fengyun Peak, there wouldn't be any obstacles. To avoid potential dangers, I had to clear them all out."

The Dúnedain looked at one another in bewilderment.

The Dúnedain did not all live together in one place, but were scattered throughout Eriador, communicating with one another by letters, and only gathering together when great events arose, such as an Orc invasion.

So they had heard of Duir's name long ago, and knew that he had repaired Amon Sultar on Weathertop and built castles and territories.

Strictly speaking, Amon Sultar and even Weathertop were once buildings and territories of the Kingdom of Arnor and the later Kingdom of Arthedain.

As descendants of the kingdom, the Dunedain regard this land as their home, so they have guarded the Eriador region for generations and constantly fought against the spread of evil forces here.

Due's establishment of a territory on Weathertop should have led to conflict with the Dúnedain.

But strength determines status. With Dui's current strength and status, even the Dunedain are unwilling to offend him, so they acquiesce to Dui's rule over Weathertop.

Now that they heard that Dui had eliminated all the evil creatures on the North Hill, several Dúnedain finally had some understanding of the power of this black-robed wizard.

While Dui was talking with several Dunedain, he was also secretly waiting for the system's response.

However, seeing that the system hadn't responded yet, he could only ask a few Dúnedain, "I'm very curious about Annúminas. Would you allow me to explore it?"

Several of the Dúnedain looked at the eldest.

The elder Talmir nodded and said, "That's fine. Let me lead the way for you, Wizard Duir."

"That'll be troublesome!"

Then Dui followed Talmir to tour the ancient city.

Passing through the trade market, residential area, pools, gardens and other places, Talmir carefully narrated the history of them.

Seeing that the system had not responded for a long time, Dui was no longer anxious. Instead, he visited everywhere under the guidance of the tour guide Talmir.

Then we came to the Road of Kings.

The Road of the Kings is a road full of solemnity and mystery, with the tombs of the kings of Arnor lined on both sides of the road.

The tomb is built with huge white stones. It has a simple and exquisite design and is engraved with exquisite reliefs and runes, recording the life stories and achievements of the kings.

And the further you go inside, the older the tomb owner is.

Dui discovered that unlike other abandoned buildings, the Road of Kings was clean and tidy, obviously because someone maintained it regularly.

Following Talmir to the end of the road, there is the largest tomb facing the road.

In front of the tomb stood a tall statue of the king, holding the holy sword Nasir and looking straight ahead, full of majesty.
