Blue-green sparks lit up at the tip of his wand, and Lycos felt as if he was stuck in mud, and any movement was slowed down... but the black flames protecting his fire shield continued to burn unaffected.

He chuckled softly, and the fire shield instantly wrapped around him, forming a large fire cocoon.

Sirius cast a series of spells on the fire cocoon, but they were all quickly burned out by the scorching flames, without any sign of touching Lycos. The only way they could do was to fan the flames slightly, causing them to sink a little, and then quickly return to their original position.
