Chapter 135 Vegetable Market
"IMAX!" When I followed Tang Xin into Hall 1, I realized that Tang Xin had bought an IMAX ticket.
"Of course, IMAX is more comfortable." Tang Xin looked at the ticket and pulled me to the purchase area.
"It's been a year since the last time you came to see a movie, right?" I took sips of the hot milk tea I just bought.
"Yeah, is it summer vacation?" Tang Xin also sighed, "I hope no one will pour a drink on your head this time?"
"How can I have such bad luck!"
As the familiar Disney opening music sounded, the lights in the entire theater were turned off, and the high-brightness screen lit up. The theater, which was originally a bit noisy, suddenly became quiet, and the movie began.
"Frozen" is a movie about the love between sisters. In the beautiful kingdom of Arendelle, there is a pair of beautiful princesses. The elder sister has magic power since she was a child and can make ice and snow. As she grows older and can no longer control her magic, the elder sister decides to run away from home to avoid hurting her younger sister. But her younger sister goes to the mountains alone to find her sister. At the end of the movie, the younger sister, who is frozen by the cold heart, needs true love to break the spell. It is not the prince who breaks the spell, but her sister...
This movie is one of my favorite animated films of my generation, not only because of Disney's genius narrative ability, but also because of the beautiful picture technology, which makes the whole movie seem to come alive, as if you have experienced their story personally.
At the end of the movie, when the elder sister used true love to break the curse, Tang Xin suddenly turned to me and asked, "Wow! Isn't true love a prince?"
"Why does it have to be a prince?" I asked her softly.
Tang Xin didn't reply to me, but stared at the screen with a gleam in her eyes, deeply immersed in it. Soon the movie was coming to an end, and as the movie was shown behind the scenes, the lights in the theater also lit up.
"Let's go!" Tang Xin stood up, took my hand and walked outside.
It was only when everyone stood up that I discovered an interesting phenomenon. In addition to many young couples, there were also many groups of girls holding hands like us.
At this moment, I vaguely heard a young couple talking secretly behind me.
"Hey, are the couple in front of us a couple?" the girl asked the boy.
The boy was a little confused: "Aren't there a pair of girls in front?"
"You're so stupid, we're just that kind of relationship."
"Ah, you mean?" The boy was surprised.
"Yes, look at them walking hand in hand, they seem to be very close..."
Listening to their conversation, my heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and I pulled Tang Xin and walked out quickly. Tang Xin seemed to have heard nothing and looked very calm.
"Hey, why are you walking so fast? I still want to see the Easter eggs." Tang Xin was a little confused.
"Download it on your computer and watch it~" I held her hand tightly, afraid that she would be swept away by the crowd walking out.
I walked out of the theater and into the lobby, finally separating myself from the crowd. Because the heating was turned up a little high, I took a few deep breaths before leaving, otherwise I would have suffocated. The air conditioning in the theater is always like this, too cold in the summer and too hot in the winter, it's really torture.
"What's wrong? Why are you in such a hurry?" Tang Xin seemed a little worried when she saw my look.
"It's okay, I just feel suffocated." I shook my head.
"It's four o'clock. Have we finished our meal outside?" Tang Xin looked at her phone and then asked me.
"Forget it, let's go home and eat." I shook my head. "I just drank so much milk tea and ate popcorn. I'm not hungry at all. It's just right to go home and cook something."
"Then? Can I go to your house for a meal?" Tang Xin stood in front of me with her hands behind her back and asked shyly.
"Ah? Of course you can, just don't complain about my cooking."
"Great. I can eat Xiaomeng's cooking." Tang Xin jumped up happily, then turned around with a look of regret: "It would be great if I could eat your cooking every day."
"Then you have to live in my house." I said helplessly.
"It's not impossible..." Tang Xin said in a low voice.
"Huh?" I wondered if I had heard it wrong.
"Hahaha...just a joke." She waved her hands quickly.
"Before we go to my house, we have to go somewhere else!"
"Where?" Tang Xin tilted her head and looked at me.
……
"It's here!" I took Tang Xin to the vegetable market.
"Vegetable...vegetable market?" Tang Xin covered her mouth in surprise as she looked at the middle-aged ladies and uncles coming in and out of the main entrance of the vegetable market.
"It is a little bit dirty. If Tang Xin doesn't want to go in, why don't you go to the dessert shop next door and sit for a while? I'll buy some ingredients and be back soon. It'll be quick, about half an hour." Seeing that Tang Xin seemed a little unhappy, I made a suggestion.
"No need, I'll go in with you!" Tang Xin seemed to have made up her mind.
"Are you sure?" I looked at her doubtfully.
She nodded firmly: "Sure!"
Walking in the vegetable market, we obviously became the odd ones out. The elderly people passing by would occasionally look at us with curiosity, and even the vegetable vendors would stare at us a few more times.
"Uncle, how much is this pork per pound?" I came to the meat stall, the one where I often bought from, and stopped.
"Hey, Xiaomeng? I didn't recognize you!" The old man who was setting up the stall was a middle-aged man in his fifties, bald, with broad arms and a little fat. His arms were thick and looked like he had been chopping meat for many years. At this time, he was wearing a yellowed white apron and looked at me with surprise.
I scratched my head and said sheepishly, "It's almost Chinese New Year and I bought new clothes."
"It's time to buy it! I see you in school uniform every day, and my wife even asks me why I don't see you wearing pretty clothes. Here, I'll give you a discount. Which one do you like?" The uncle was very enthusiastic, and the quality of the meat was also good, with no shortage of weight. This is why I often patronize his store.
"These two pieces." I pointed to the spine and pork belly on the side.
"Okay, the total is sixty-two yuan. I'll charge you sixty." The old man was very efficient and packed up the items in no time.
After handing over the money, I picked up the plastic bag with the smell of meat on it. Tang Xin, who was standing next to me, looked at me with wide eyes as if she had seen a monster.
"What's wrong?" I asked curiously.
"Hands! Hands!" she exclaimed, "So dirty..."
I laughed dumbly: "It's okay, go home and wash up."
Because Tang Xin is coming to dinner tonight, I bought some extra ingredients today. In addition to the usual meat and vegetables, I also bought a pomfret, half a hairtail, and two swimming crabs.
With so many things in my hands, I naturally felt heavier. The soreness in my arms and the biting cold wind were like a blade cutting my hands, and I subconsciously quickened my pace.
"Xiao Meng, let me get you some." Tang Xin suddenly grabbed me and said.
"But... it's dirty..."
"Yeah, but compared to making Xiaomeng feel more relaxed, what does this little bit of dirt matter?"
Tang Xin smiled at me...
It feels like winter isn't that cold anymore.
-
I worked overtime tonight and vomited, so I want to play games.
Chapter 136 Cooking
"I'm back~" I opened the door of my house and the warm air blew in my face, making me feel refreshed even though I was a little frozen.
"Ah~ I just remembered, there was no one there." I patted my head and thought of Xiaoling and my aunt going to the company.
"Come in! Let's cook~" I turned around, took the bag from Tang Xin's hand, and walked towards the kitchen.
"Do you need my help?" Tang Xin looked at me and seemed to want to help.
"Tang Xin is coming to help?" I was even more surprised, but a little worried, "But Tang Xin has no experience."
"Don't underestimate me!" She said a little unhappy, "I can help you wash the vegetables and prepare the food."
"Okay!" I led her into the kitchen.
"You wash the vegetables first. I'll wash the meat." I handed her the vegetables I bought.
"Can we just wash them with water?" Tang Xin was a little overwhelmed holding the vegetables.
"Ah."
"Hiss...ah~" Tang Xin turned on the faucet and screamed as her hand touched the water.
"what happened?"
"It's so cold!"
"Turn on the hot water!" I helped her turn the faucet valve to the other side. "The switch of my water heater is installed in the wrong direction."
"Ah good."
"But you must rinse it with cold water when you are done."
"Huh? Why?" She was a little confused.
"Because the inner tank of the water heater hasn't been cleaned for a long time. I'm worried that bacteria may grow inside, so it would be better to rinse it with cold water at the end."
"Oh~ Xiaomeng knows so much."
Tang Xin had no experience in washing vegetables, so she carefully picked off each leaf and washed both sides with water. She would carefully rub off the dirt near the core of the vegetable, especially carefully.
"You don't have to be so careful." I was a little anxious watching from the side, "Let me wash the meat first."
I took the ribs and meat cubes out of the plastic bag, put them in a large bowl, and rinsed them with cold water several times.
"It smells so fishy." Tang Xin frowned and took a step back.
"Hmm, if raw meat is not cooked thoroughly, it will indeed have an unpleasant smell." I said to Tang Xin with a smile, "Wait until the smell goes away."
"Eh? Xiaomeng, can you teach me how to do it?" Tang Xin became curious.
"Add some chicken essence first." I nodded and started working in front of her.
"Then pour some soy sauce, vinegar, minced ginger, minced garlic, and a little bit of sugar. Then pour in some rice wine. Add a little bit of cooking oil, and then stir it so that the sauces are evenly covered on the meat."
"Wow, it seems to have a little fragrance."
"Haha." I laughed out loud, "You smell the sauce. Then let's leave it for a few minutes."
"Then beat an egg, just the egg white." I took an egg from the side, cracked it, and poured out the egg white into a separate bowl.
"Add some light powder, a little water, and stir~"
"After that, coat the marinated ribs with the egg white starch!"
"It's done! Now it's ready to be put into the pot~"
I showed Tang Xin the bowl of spareribs ready for cooking. She looked at it with a curious look on her face: "Xiao Meng is so skilled! I can't wait to eat it."
