This room is where the future Spider-Man was born.

Peter Parker has now gained superpowers, but he is just a kind-hearted high school student.

He must be going through a period of confusion and growth right now.

And Uncle Ben, who should have had his heroic soul forged through death... is still alive and well.

"I'm afraid, of course I'm afraid. Fear is a normal reaction for a normal person."

Peter nodded, seemingly relieved, but his next words made Lin Nan almost stop breathing.

“Something has happened to me recently…” Peter’s voice was very low, almost as if he were talking to himself.

"About a week ago, I visited the Osborn Group and was bitten by a spider..."

"After that, my body underwent some kind of change..."

He stretched out his hand, his middle and ring fingers bent, and a nearly invisible white thread shot out from his wrist, sticking to the wall and swaying slightly.

"I can feel an increase in strength and speed..."

Peter's voice was a mixture of fear, excitement, and confusion: "I can bend iron bars with my bare hands and easily jump onto rooftops. Sometimes it feels like the whole world is moving in slow motion..."

"I don't know what I've become, or what it means, Lin... what should I do from now on?"

He looked at Lin Nan, his eyes filled with a heaviness that shouldn't be there for someone his age: "Uncle Ben told me that with great power comes great responsibility."

"But... what should I do?"

The causal value on Lin Nan's wrist quietly jumped to 90.

He knew why: Peter Parker, the future Spider-Man, was revealing his biggest secret to him.

Lin Nan remained silent, pondering what to say—to offer comfort or encouragement?

Once upon a time, I saw Spider-Man in an animated film and always admired his ability to scale walls and uphold justice.

But as I grew up, I suddenly realized...

What kind of heavy burden and price is behind this role? Since it can change something, why not try to make the ending of these childhood idols more satisfactory?

Finally, he slowly spoke: "Can you control it? Those spider silks."

Peter paused for a moment: "Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to change according to my mood."

“Then let’s start with control,” Lin Nan said. “Any force, if out of control, becomes a disaster.”

"You need to train and test your limits so you can use it better. Don't think too much about anything else."

Peter's eyes widened: "Training? How? In your own backyard?"

"Find a deserted place, an abandoned factory, a warehouse, anything will do. New York has no shortage of such places."

Parker didn't speak, as if he was thinking.

“Oh, right, there’s one more thing,” Peter suddenly said. “I think I can sense something, how should I describe it? Like some kind of danger warning…”

Spider-Sense!

Lin Nan's heart skipped a beat; this was one of the core abilities of every version of Spider-Man, and it had already awakened.

"Believe in it, take control of it, and don't be afraid."

“Peter, I don’t know exactly what happened to your body, but what I do know is that since it happened, you have to learn to live with it.”

"Escaping solves nothing, and fear is useless."

"You must learn to control your power."

Peter stared at him for a long time, then slowly nodded: "You're right, Lin."

“I haven’t told anyone this, not even Gwen. You have to keep it a secret for me.”

Perhaps it was the heroic act of this Asian classmate that resonated with him.

Perhaps because they were close in age, he chose to bravely confide in someone he could trust during his most confused moment.

Peter Parker chose to confess, or rather, to ask for help in a roundabout way.

Chapter 3 Impacting the King

Upon hearing Gwen's name, Lin Nan smiled and teased, "How's your relationship going now?"

In this world, within Peter's circle, there is no MJ, only Gwen.

Lin Nan couldn't help but recall some things: the electric man... the fall... the spider web...

Is there room for maneuver?

“We’re just good friends now… um… good friends,” Peter explained awkwardly, not noticing his friend’s distraction.

"She's very smart. Maybe I'll tell him that later, but for now..."

Suddenly, Aunt Mei's voice came from downstairs: "Children, come down for dinner."

Dinner was a familiar American meal: grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

And of course, there's Uncle Ben's pride: apple pie.

During the meal, the two elderly people greeted Lin Nan very warmly.

They asked him if he was adjusting well to school and if he had made any friends.

Even when referring to Lin Nan's parents, they didn't use the word "passed away," but rather "left," fearing that any negative words would hurt him.

Lin Nan's cooperative answer revealed that his backstory was entirely fabricated by the Temple of Cause and Effect.

His parents died when he was ten years old, leaving him a trust fund and an apartment.

This is an independent, perfect identity that won't arouse too much suspicion.

As Uncle Ben cut the chicken with his knife and fork, he said with concern in his eyes, "Son, I saw what you did the other day."

"But, child, the foundation of acting bravely for a just cause is protecting yourself."

"With great power comes great responsibility, and you're just a high school student..."

“Ben! Don’t lecture Lin!” Aunt Mei interrupted, then gently reassured him, “He was like this when he was young, don’t mind it.”

Lin Nan smiled shyly, feeling very warm inside.

At the same time, I am very grateful that my actions changed the fate of Peter's family. Such a kind and wonderful family should not have suffered a tragedy.

The meal passed in a warm and cozy atmosphere, which Lin Nan thoroughly enjoyed, especially in this perilous world where one never knew when they might meet a tragic end.

After saying goodbye to the family, Lin Nan left Peter's house.

The night was dark, and the light was gone.

The streets of Queens became very quiet, with only the occasional sound of cars and scattered barking of dogs.

Lin Nan walked slowly back to her apartment with her hands in her pockets.

The number on my wrist had been slowly increasing throughout the meal and had now reached 94.

There are still six points left to draw the first dream capsule.

Lin Nan's mind was in turmoil, filled with anticipation and a hint of anxiety.

Just then, he suddenly heard a malicious voice: "Hey, kid."

The sound came from behind the darkness. Lin Nan stopped and looked in the direction of the sound. He then suddenly realized that three people had surrounded him from behind.

They were all dressed in dirty clothes, holding beer bottles, and reeking of alcohol. The leader was a fat white man with a shiny, bald head.

The bald man grinned, revealing a mouthful of rotten teeth: "Alone so late? Can you lend us some money?"

Lin Nan's lips twitched, but he didn't feel much fear. After his last face-to-face encounter with armed robbers, his fear threshold had been raised considerably.

Indeed, it is the land of freedom, America, living up to its reputation.

As Lin Nan backed away, he reached for the baton and pepper spray in his pocket.

All three men had drunk quite a bit and were unsteady on their feet. He had weapons and new pepper spray; there was a risk, but he definitely had a chance of winning.

"I don't have any money on me," Lin Nan said calmly.

"No money? Where's your phone? Where's your watch? Hand it over now, or we'll resort to violence."

The group was clearly not going to let it go, and they approached with slightly drunken steps.

Lin Nan pulled out the baton from his pocket, ready to strike down one person before they could react.

Just then, a young voice came from above.

"Hey neighbors, what are you doing?"

Everyone looked up. A figure wearing a dark hoodie, the hood pulled low to cover most of his face, was squatting on the streetlight.

"This is none of your business! Get lost, or I'll drag you down and beat you up too!" The drunken bald man was clearly not intimidated.

The figure leaped down, landing lightly and steadily. He stood upright, blocking Lin Nan from the three thugs.

“I think you should leave. We’re all good neighbors, aren’t we?” Her voice trembled slightly.

The three men looked at each other, and the bald man cursed and threw a beer bottle at them.

The hoodie-wearing man moved incredibly fast, weaving between the three people. Although his movements were slightly clumsy, you could clearly see him pulling back his strength.

Even so, of the three drunkards, one was stuck to the wall by spider silk, another fell to the ground with his feet tangled in spider silk, and the last one, the bald man, fared even worse, with spider silk smeared all over his face and tied up tightly.

"Hurry up!" the hoodie shouted anxiously.

Sure enough, it was Peter Parker.

Lin Nan didn't move; his heart was already filled with excitement.

Because he saw the number on his wrist jump rapidly, reaching 100.

What could be the reason for this? Was it because Spider-Man Peter Parker's heroic actions were interfered with by this person who was stitched in?

A few seconds later, the bald man finally ripped the spider silk off his face, panting heavily, his eyes filled with fear.
