Tokyo 1970: I'll draw Doraemon?
Author: Huang Tian Dafa
Summary:
Fushimikawa, having suffered greatly from the dark side of the story, was transported to Japan in 1952. He endured a difficult infancy.
After escaping the Morinaga arsenic-tainted milk powder scandal, in order to improve his life, he began plagiarizing articles from Yilin Feng magazine such as "The Showdown at Summer Camp" and "The White House Blackout for Life" during elementary school, becoming a world-renowned genius.
However, he lacked literary talent, so he could only choose to become a cartoonist.
In 1970 Japan, the campaign to ban bad books finally came to an end, "Shameless Academy" shone brightly, "Ashita no Joe" and "Kyojin no Hoshi" were being serialized, "Doraemon" began to enter the historical stage, and the manga industry was booming.
By becoming Fujimoto Hiroshi's assistant and working with him to create "Doraemon," Fushimikawa took his first step in challenging these predecessors.
He entered Waseda University and founded the CM doujinshi convention, giving manga enthusiasts a place to express themselves. His future is still very bright.

Chapter One: Graduation Season
Since the Jimmu Boom of 1955, the Japanese economy has grown like a runaway horse, increasing many times over.
In 1970, teenagers were freed from the shadows their elders had faced and could pursue spiritual enjoyment without worrying about survival.
They can draw comics, write novels, join heavy metal bands, or play the drums.
However, there are still some people who cling to outdated ideas and criticize others.
"That must be Fushimikawa, the former literary prodigy."
"It's him, no doubt. He's been in the newspapers many times, but now he's not famous anymore."
"It's really pitiful. After all, he used to be a household name. Now, the only thing he can show for himself is his good grades."
In mid-March, Aichi Prefectural Industrial Junior High School was holding its graduation ceremony for graduating seniors. First- and second-year students, along with incoming freshmen, all watched the young man giving his speech on stage.
His name is Fushimikawa. He is handsome, tall, and has a confident smile. If he were to work as a male escort, he would definitely become the best of the best.
"Dear teachers and classmates, on this sunny day, we still welcome the graduation season for senior high school students."
"While feeling disappointed, I also have a lot of feelings that I have to express."
What kind of life do you want to live?
"Some people want to go to university for further studies; others have found jobs and are ready to make their mark. In this era of rapid economic growth in this country, opportunities are everywhere."
"Therefore, mindset becomes even more important."
"Be brave to face the unknown, dare to challenge difficulties, shed burdens, and persevere so that past glories do not become a burden, but a driving force in your heart to fight to the death. This is the direction I am striving for, and I am sharing it with you today."
……
During Fushimikawa's slow and coherent speech, many people fell into deep thought.
Asano Megumi, sitting calmly in the graduating class, looked at the classmates who had just been "jealous" of Fushimikawa. Now they were all silent, their expressions a mixture of emotion and embarrassment.
Looking at the spirited graduate representatives on the podium, Megumi Asano sighed.
'As expected of you, you quelled the rumors without me even needing to intervene.'
……
"No matter what, I hope everyone can face the future with a smile and realize their dreams."
"In my old age, I will have no regrets about the choices I made today."
"I wish you all a bright future and the fulfillment of your ambitions."
The speech ended with thunderous applause.
Then, as the school song was sung in unison, the graduation ceremony successfully came to a close amidst cries.
Fushimikawa's high school career has come to an end.
He is 18 years old and has lived in Japan for 18 years.
From experiencing poverty in childhood, to living a peaceful and happy life after the family became more well-off in junior high school, and then being able to look up and glimpse a better future in high school.
He experienced his youth, which he had spent as a Chinese, all over again.
Why did I choose to time travel?
He was once full of doubts, but now he is no longer troubled by such fantasies.
"Only by striving to achieve something great and etching my name in the annals of time can I make this extraordinary experience worthwhile!"
……
"Farewell, Fushimi-senpai. Thank you for your care all this time."
"Brother Chuan, it's time to say goodbye, waaaaaah! I really don't want to leave you."
"See you in Tokyo, Agawa."
"Don't forget me, Fushimi-kun."
At the entrance of the auditorium, Fushimikawa bid farewell to many friends and admirers.
Feeling their sincere emotions, Fushimikawa was also somewhat saddened.
"This is a sketch I drew in advance. Please accept it as a memento of our friendship."
He took out drawing paper from his bag and handed it out to his friends.
The sketches correspond to their respective appearances, and Fushimikawa's signature is in the lower right corner. He spent three days of his spare time completing them.
Perhaps in the future, these sketches will become much more valuable and bear sweet fruit.
About an hour later, Fushimikawa's backpack was filled with small items such as bracelets, pens, and collar buttons. These were gifts from his friends who had temporarily taken off their belongings and returned them to him, and he should cherish them.
"Just as I thought, they are my true friends... But..." There was still a sketch left in his bag. Looking at the only bright red headdress in the black and white drawing, Fushimikawa frowned. "Why didn't Megumi come to say goodbye?"
He and Asano Keika are the closest of friends.
……
As Jiro Suzuki walked through his alma mater, a place filled with memories, and looked at the energetic younger students, he was filled with emotion.
Having achieved nothing in Tokyo, he returned to his hometown and surprisingly became a specially invited alumnus.
This friendly treatment made him consider giving up drawing comics and returning to his hometown to develop his career.
Tokyo is such a cold place; beneath its prosperity lie the tears of countless losers.
'Only a genius like Fujiko F. Fujio could establish himself in Tokyo.'
I think I should give up.
After making this decision, he was immediately filled with energy, feeling that life was full of open spaces, and he began to gaze at the scenery of the college.
“Those students were all holding sketches.”
Seeing a group of students walking from the direction of the auditorium, Suzuki Jiro, whose major was related to this, immediately became interested.
He squinted and examined the paintings.
"It's really well drawn. The proportions are accurate, the perspective is also correct, and most importantly, the expression is captured very well. It's simply lifelike."
Jiro Suzuki couldn't help but exclaim, "The style is so consistent, I wonder whose work it is."
"It's Fushimi-kun."
Someone spoke to him from behind, and Suzuki Jiro quickly turned around. He was startled and hurriedly bowed.
"Fujino...Principal Fujino!"
This is the former principal of the prefectural industrial junior high school. Suzuki Jiro was once his student and received a lot of care from him.
Principal Fujino waved his hand and said unhurriedly, "Whether it's a novel or a comic, they are both vehicles for ideas. As long as they can express one's own thoughts, there is no difference."
"Huh?" Suzuki Jiro didn't understand.
“Fushimi has been working very hard to learn to draw. I can tell he’s not just messing around. He’s been doing it day and night, all year round. It’s rare to see a high school student so focused on loving manga, so…” Fujino looked at Suzuki Jiro, “Jiro, there are some manga drawn by Fushimi on the bulletin board. Why don’t you go take a look?”
"Yes, Principal." Suzuki Jiro nodded; he roughly understood Principal Fujino's purpose.
Everything we did, starting with inviting him to our alma mater, was to introduce him to our junior, Fushimikawa.
"Does the principal hope I can help Fushimi-kun in Tokyo?"
'I might disappoint him, after all, I've given up drawing comics.'
But since I have some free time, I'll go take a look.
Chapter Two: Mothers
Jiro Suzuki walked to the bulletin board and saw the short comic strip drawn by Fushimi Kawa.
There weren't many people around; he was accompanied only by a boy whose eyes were full of curiosity—probably a freshman about to enroll.
Ignoring him, Jiro Suzuki started reading a manga called "Mothers".
……
The war was over, and the young soldiers returned to their hometowns.
He stood at the foot of the 6th floor and shouted impatiently.
"mom!"
"mom!"
As soon as the words were spoken, countless windows were opened, and many mothers peeked out, all looking down at their children.
Then came expressions of disappointment, pain, and dejection.
Some people quickly closed the windows, while others covered their eyes with their hands.
Yes, their children, whom they had raised with such care for so many years, had become victims of the war.
The soldier looked up at the mothers, but did not see the person he had longed to see.
