The dark red light in his eye sockets was dimmer than usual, like two embers about to burn out.

In the end, no information was obtained about the dragon.

Shalltear has not appeared since she was taken into custody.

Ainz lay on his back on the bed.

The soft mattress supported his spine, and the fine silk quilt rustled softly beneath him.

This is a custom that has been preserved from human times.

In that world, he was just an ordinary office worker.

Every day after get off work, I drag my tired body back to my cramped apartment and collapse onto my cheap bedding.

That moment of relaxation allowed him to maintain this habit to this day.

Ainz rolled over and buried his face in the pillow.

He took a deep breath.

'strangeness.'

He raised his head, and the red light in his eye sockets flickered slightly.

Did the maid on duty change her perfume today?

He couldn't even name the usual scents.

But the aroma is noticeably different today.

It has an added natural flavor, like the morning mist of a wetland, mixed with the fresh scent of some kind of plant and soil.

Ainz frowned.

He propped himself up and reached out to grab the edge of the blankets.

Slowly lift it.

A white figure came into his view.

Kurushue curled up under the blanket, her white scales gleaming with a warm, jade-like luster in the dim light.

She was wearing a thin gauze nightgown, which no one knew who had prepared for her, and her red eyes were cautiously looking over.

"Please have mercy, Lord Ainz."

Chapter 16 Ainz's Enjoyment

Ainz looked at the white lizardman in front of him, who was wearing sexy pajamas.

The sheer nightgown, under the dim light of the magic lamp, was incredibly alluring, outlining the white scales on Kurushu's body.

The scales extend down from the neck, converge at the waist and abdomen, and then spread out along the base of the tail.

The neckline of her pajamas was very low, with a lace trim around the edge, creating an eerie harmony with her scaly skin, a trait unique to lizard people.

Ainz's mandible was stretched to its maximum.

Without the restriction of muscles and skin, it almost touches its own cervical vertebrae.

A green light, exuding a forced calm, flashed across his body.

After three consecutive green lights, Ainz managed to close his jaw.

The slight clicking sound of the jaws closing and colliding was particularly clear in the quiet room.

“Oh, Kurushe,” Ainz said, keeping his voice as steady as possible, “how did you get here?”

Kurushue curled up on the blankets, blinking her red eyes.

"Didn't you order Lord Demiurge to bring me here?" Her voice was soft, tinged with a hint of confusion.

Ainz covered his face with one hand.

'Ah, it was Demiurge who did it.'

When this thought came to mind, his feelings were so complicated that he couldn't suppress them even if he forced himself to calm down.

Why did Demiurge do that?

Ainz's mind began to race.

Is this also part of Demiurge's imagined plan for me?

But I only did it because I thought albino varieties were very rare.

What was Demiurge really thinking? Was it just a simple misunderstanding?

No, Demiurge couldn't simply be mistaken.

He is the most intelligent guardian of Nazarick; Demiurge's intellect far surpasses that of me, the Supreme Being.

Ainz does have that much self-awareness.

So this is a key part of the Demiurge plan?

'But directly questioning Demiurge would damage my dignity as the Supreme Being.'

"Lord Ainz?" Kurushe's voice pulled Ainz back from his thoughts.

Ainz lowered his hand from his face and looked back at Kurushe on the bed.

She remained in that position, her red eyes gazing at him quietly, waiting for some kind of response.

'How about we go along with Demiurge and sleep with him for one night?'

The moment that thought popped into his head, Ainz slapped his face with his other hand.

'No, no, no, this is too outrageous.'

Ainz felt he couldn't do it.

Ainz tapped his fingers lightly on his face.

If he simply sends Krush back, causing Demiurge's important plan to fall through, wouldn't that make Demiurge doubt his own wisdom?

Despite being the supreme ruler, he couldn't understand his subordinates' plans and even ruined them due to his own narrow-mindedness...

Ainz stopped tapping with his finger bones.

After much deliberation, he made a compromise.

"Kurusha." Ainz lowered his hands and turned his gaze back to the white lizardman curled up on the bedding.

"Yes, Lord Ainz," Kurusa's voice rang out immediately, carrying an air of obedience, ready to carry out orders at any moment.

"Go to sleep first."

Kuruyu blinked. "Isn't Lord Ainz going to sleep?"

“Well…” Ainz coughed softly, “I need to meditate for a while first.”

This was an excuse he came up with on the spot.

"Yes, Lord Ainz."

Kurushue obediently lay down.

Her breathing gradually calmed down, and the white scales rose and fell slightly with the rhythm of her breathing.

Ainz waited for quite a while longer.

Then he raised his hand.

[Sleep]

A surge of magic flowed from his fingertips, silently enveloping Kurushe.

Her breathing became longer and more even, and her body completely relaxed, with even the white tail that had been sticking out from the edge of the blankets hanging softly over the edge of the bed.

After confirming that Krush was unconscious, Ainz let out a long breath.

"Whoo~"

Although he had no lungs, he still made the action of exhaling.

He looked at Kuruxue lying on the bed. The thin gauze nightgown she was wearing was clearly not something she had prepared herself; there was no way such a thing would exist in the lizardman tribe.

It was probably prepared by Demiurge.

Ainz stood up and walked to the bedside.

He bent down and gently lifted Kurushe up in his arms.

Ainz activated a teleportation spell.

The blue light of the magic circle illuminated the room, engulfing him and Kurushe in his arms.

Demiurge was already waiting at the Red-Eyed Clan's stronghold.

Ainz had just teleported in, and before his feet could even touch the muddy ground of the wetlands, Demiurge's voice rang out.

The demon pushed up his glasses, the round lenses reflecting a cold, eerie light in the moonlight.

"Lord Ainz, it seems you're having a great time."

Demiurge's gaze fell on Kurushe, who was in Ainz's arms.

The white lizardman, draped in a thin nightgown, lay quietly in Ainz's arms, his eyes closed.

'As expected, their strength was too weak; they couldn't withstand Lord Ainz's attack and fell unconscious.'

A green light, forcibly calming him, flashed across Ainz's body once more.

Looking at the knowing smile on the cunning face before him, he felt his soul undergoing a silent interrogation.

“Demiurge,” Ainz said, regaining his composure, “what are you doing here?”

“Because Lord Ainz will inevitably return here.” Demiurge bowed slightly, his posture respectful. “I will wait here in advance.”

"Of course, Lord Ainz need not worry about the safety of his subordinates. That dark dragon has likely already moved far away from Nazarick's territory."

The dragon remained unmoved despite so many attempts to probe, suggesting it may no longer be within the kingdom's borders.

“I have been waiting here alone on this adventure and have not encountered any attacks,” Demiurge added.
