If the dragon that controls Shalltear is lurking here in some way, making contact rashly would be tantamount to walking into a trap.

But after the family members repeatedly confirmed, the result was clear: the so-called Western Demon Serpent was just a Naga and had nothing to do with dragons.

As for the Eastern Giants, they are a variant of some kind of troll, enormous in size but simple-minded.

Lord Ainz was then relieved to agree to Pandora's request to eliminate the two monsters in order to enhance his reputation.

But the problem now is...

Pandora fell into deep thought again.

Should we kill these two monsters, or subdue them?

Killing them is the most direct way. The heads of the Eastern Giant and the Western Serpent can be brought back to the Adventurers' Guild as irrefutable proof that a Mithril-class team independently defeated a large monster.

By the standards of the Adventurers' Guild, he should be able to advance to the Steel-rank adventurer.

But if we were to subdue it...

The example of Kurasuke is right before our eyes.

The Gaccaria hamster that was scared so badly by Lord Ainz's "Despair Aura V" that it rolled over on its back has now become Fei Fei's signature magical beast.

Although in Lord Ainz's eyes, Kousuke's appearance looked exactly like a pet hamster magnified countless times.

But in the aesthetic standards of this world, that round, silver behemoth is a true "wisdom king of the forest," attracting awe wherever it goes.

If the "Dark" team were to add the Eastern Giant and the Western Serpent, the sight of three Forest Wise King-level magical beasts appearing simultaneously in front of the Adventurers' Guild would be enough to silence all doubts.

So, it's best to subdue them first, but if they resist, killing them is also acceptable.

With that in mind, Pandora made a decision.

Chapter 38 Defeat the Eastern Giant

Deep in the eastern part of the Tob Great Forest.

Pandoracz, no, he should be called "Flyfly" now, stood in a clearing that had been violently carved out.

At his feet lay the corpses of two ogres, both decapitated by a single sword strike.

“This is it.” Naberal stood half a step behind him, pointing to the cave at the end of the clearing. “According to Lord Yau’s intelligence, the lair of the Eastern Giants is inside.”

"Ah."

Feifei gave a brief reply and strode towards the cave.

He crouched down, his gaze, hidden beneath his full-face helmet, sweeping over the rough scratches and scattered bone fragments along the edge of the cave entrance.

A stench, a mixture of rotting flesh and wild animal fat, wafted from the cave, so strong it was almost tangible.

"It stinks." Naberal frowned.

“Ogre.” Fei Fei stood up, her tone certain. “These scratches were left by an ogre. The Eastern Giant… seems to be a variant of the ogre.”

It's not some valuable rare monster.

However, it can at least be used to upgrade the team level.

“Let’s go.” Fei Fei drew the two great black swords from his back. “Be careful of the traps in the cave. Although the ogres are unlikely to be intelligent enough to set up any traps, we can’t be careless.”

Naberal nodded slightly and drew her sword.

The two walked down the gentle slope.

The cave was much more spacious than expected, with a ceiling nearly four meters high, allowing even a large ogres to move freely inside.

Occasionally, marks made by rough tools can be seen on the cave walls, and the ground is littered with cleanly gnawed bones, some of which still bear the cracks from being crushed by teeth.

“These bones…” Narberal’s gaze swept over the remains, “mostly goblin bones…”

Feifei did not respond.

Heavy footsteps and hoarse growls echoed from the depths of the cave. Several blurry figures emerged from the darkness, drawing ever closer.

It's a cannibal.

Two ogres stood at the end of the slope, holding crude clubs in their hands, their bodies stained with blood, and chunks of meat still hanging from their mouths.

More footsteps were approaching from behind them.

"Enemy!" one of the ogres roared hoarsely, "Ironhide! Enemy!"

Feifei stopped and sighed.

He raised his hand, stopping Naberal from stepping forward to attack.

“I’ve come to speak to your leader,” his voice came from under his helmet. “Summon the Eastern Giant.”

The two ogres exchanged a glance, clearly not fully understanding the meaning of the sentence.

But the words "Eastern Giants" seemed to trigger some kind of instinct in them; they took a half step back and let out a threatening growl.

"Don't you understand?" Feifei shook her head. "Then repeat it. I want to see the Eastern Giant."

He deliberately pronounced each word slowly, while simultaneously slamming his greatsword into the ground.

This time, the ogres understood what he meant.

They turned and ran deeper into the cave, their clumsy steps making a dull thud on the stone floor.

Before long, even louder footsteps came from the depths.

The leader was an exceptionally large troll.

Standing nearly three meters tall, his muscular body was clad in leather armor made of multiple animal hides, and he held a massive sword in his hand.

It was a size larger than the greatsword in Fei Fei's hand, and a viscous liquid kept seeping from the groove in the center of the blade.

Behind him followed five trolls and about a dozen cannibals.

The eyes of these demi-humans held a mixture of hostility and curiosity, but more so a kind of almost undisguised appetite as they sized up the intruder's body as if they were looking at two pieces of walking meat.

"It's you, intruder." The leader of the trolls spoke, his voice rough like two rocks rubbing against each other. "King 'Gu,' who rules the lands of the East, grants you permission to state your name!"

Feifei's helmet tilted slightly.

'Gu?' He murmured the name to himself. 'What a simple and straightforward naming method.'

The thought only flashed through my mind for a moment.

“Feifei,” he replied briefly.

Trolls consider the length of their names to be proof of courage; the longer the name, the less courageous they are.

Gu's expression froze for a moment.

A clear dissatisfaction surfaced on that ugly face, probably because the name was also very short, leaving him with nothing to mock.

"Feifei?" Gu repeated the name, staring at the full-face helmet for a long while before finally letting out a heavy snort. "Fine. Whatever your name is, whatever you want to do here!"

He gripped the greatsword tightly, revealing two rows of uneven, yellow teeth.

Feifei sighed, his tone becoming more forceful, almost commanding.

"Submit to me, and I will spare your lives."

silence.

Gu's face instantly contorted with rage.

"Idiot!" He raised the greatsword, its blade gleaming coldly in the dim light. "How could we possibly be food's servants! You're going to be eaten right here!"

The ogres behind him also became agitated, waving their clubs and various crude weapons, letting out deafening howls.

The roars echoed through the cave, mingling with the nauseating stench, making the whole scene even more chaotic.

Feifei shook her head.

"As expected, this is the result."

He turned his head to look at Narberal behind him. The battle maid stood a few steps away, her face still indifferent, but her hand holding the sword was already in a fighting stance.

“Feifei… my lady, what should we do?” Naberal asked.

“There’s nothing to talk about.” Fei Fei turned back to Gu. “The only option is to kill them all.”

He said this in a flat tone.

But this calm only fueled Gu's anger. He could sense that the man in black armor in front of him truly didn't take him seriously.

"Roar!"

Gu let out a furious roar, raised his greatsword with both hands, and slashed it down fiercely towards Feifei's head.

The massive sword, nearly three meters long, crashed down with enough force to cleave boulders, and foul-smelling viscous liquid gushed from the groove in the center of the blade.

Feifei did not dodge.

The blade struck his helmet squarely.

"clang!"

The dull metallic clang was deafening. Gu felt a tremendous force travel back along the sword, making his wrist go numb.

His eyes widened as he saw the black-clad warrior still standing in the same spot, not having moved an inch.

"How is this possible..." Gu took a few steps back, looked down at the sword in his hand, then looked up at the person in front of him. Then he turned around suddenly and slashed at an ogre beside him.

Chapter 39 Feifei's New Mount

The troll that was struck let out a shrill scream; half of its shoulder was almost severed.

But the edges of the wound soon began to wriggle, and new granulation tissue grew out, pulling the wound back together.

Gu dipped his finger in the blood on the sword blade and licked it.

Then he looked at Feifei again, his astonishment deepening.

“Weapons… no problem,” he muttered to himself.

If the weapons are fine, then where is the problem?

Gu gritted his teeth, raised his greatsword again, and this time he didn't fight alone. Instead, he roared at his subordinates behind him, "What are you all standing there for! Attack together!"
