Chapter 410 The Way to Awaken

"F@#k!!"

Wade stepped into a bear trap, its iron teeth digging into his flesh.

He had barely stepped into the forest outside the town when he stepped into several animal traps, each time leaving his hands and feet covered in blood.

Wade had had enough; he wanted to go back to the hotel to sleep.

Anyone else would have perished in the forest.

On his way back to the hotel, Wade was caught in animal traps twice more.

With great effort, Wade climbed onto the roof, climbed through the window back to his hotel room, took off his combat uniform, and then went to Leopold's bedside for a quick look.

Leopold looked terrible, his lips moving incessantly, as if he were having a nightmare.

"Hey bro, wake up."

Wade slapped Leopold's cheek, but Leopold didn't react.

Wade slapped Leopold hard, hurting his own hand and leaving a red mark on Leopold's face before Leopold finally cried out.

Hey! Are you awake yet?

Wade leaned closer to Leopold's face and looked at him; the man was still unconscious, as if he were being held down by a ghost.

"Brother, don't blame me..."

Wade straddled Leopold, clenching his fists and punching him relentlessly in the face.

Leopold's healing ability is no less than his own, and Wade knows that Leopold cannot be hurt by him; he will only feel pain.

"No way! Still not awake?"

Wade got up from Leopold, grabbed a chair from the room, and smashed it down on Leopold.

The chair was smashed to pieces, and Leopold suddenly opened his eyes.

"Uh……"

Leopold's mouth was wide open, and the sound that came out of his throat was suffocating.

Leopold must have had at least three ribs broken by that attack.

"Oh, you're awake."

Wade tossed the chair back he was holding aside.

"Why do I feel like I've been beaten up?" Leopold asked Wade as he sat up.

In the hotel room, the two men looked at each other by the moonlight. Leopold smelled blood on Wade, while Wade saw Leopold's pale face.

“You look terrible,” Wade said, pointing at Leopold.

“I…I dreamt that I walked into a castle.”

"Dracula's Castle".

“Dracula, he doesn’t seem to be dead yet,” Leopold said to Wade.

Do you know what I went through on this trip?

"A whole series of animal traps, in all sizes."

“The locals are like they’re on guard against some wild beast; there are animal traps everywhere,” Wade said.

“Perhaps they were dealing with wild animals? I smelled wolves when they came,” Leopold said.

"Do you think it could be a werewolf?" Wade guessed.

"Only werewolves walk on the ground; vampires fly in the sky."

“We’ll find out by talking to the locals when it’s light,” Leopold said.

"Are you still sleeping?" Wade asked.

"Do not."

“I need to call Dr. Banner,” Leopold replied.

“I called him, but he’s busy,” Wade said.

"Wade, do vampires have the ability to enter dreams?" Leopold asked.

"I don't know. The book only mentioned that vampires can hypnotize. If vampire hypnosis can create dreams, then it's possible."

"Maybe you're overthinking it."

"Try sleeping again? If you see Dracula in your dream again, it means that it really is this vampire causing trouble."

“Sleep soundly, I promise I’ll wake you up again,” Wade said.

Leopold looked down at the broken pieces of the chair, then looked up at Wade.

"I don't have any chairs left to throw at you."

Leopold nodded and lay down to sleep again.

Wade turned to look at the wooden table in the room.

Wade was thinking to himself that he could smash the table on Leopold.

Just a few minutes later, Wade heard Leopold snoring softly. He fell asleep so quickly that Wade envied him.

Wade sat on the edge of his bed, looking down at Leopold's sleeping face, waiting for him to have a nightmare reaction.

Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday are combined with the weekend to form a four-day holiday.

While Wade suffered hardships exploring Leopold's European homeland, Li Qun and his friends were experiencing the annual Black Friday shopping extravaganza.

After several people started living together, they developed a tendency to hoard daily necessities, feeling that they would lose out if they didn't buy them.

In a corner of the apartment, boxes of toilet paper took up a considerable amount of space, while Gwen and Stephanie's personal hygiene products were kept in their own room.

“Someone’s knocking,” Gwen said.

“I’ll open the door!” Peter went to the door and opened it.

The long red hair caught Peter's eye; he had never seen this woman before.

Is Wade here with you?

"Are you looking for Wade? Wade isn't here. What do you need Wade for?" Peter asked.

"Oh...please come in and talk." Li Qun glanced at the doorway; the person who came in was Natasha Romanova.

"Who is she?" Gwen asked Li Qun in a low voice.

“Wade’s ex-wife,” Li Qun replied softly.

Gwen looked at Natasha in shock. It was unimaginable that someone like Wade could find a wife like that.

“Wade went to Europe with his friends, and I don’t know exactly when he’ll be back,” Li Qun said to Natasha.

“It’s nothing, I just came to see if he was dead,” Natasha said.

"Wade is doing alright."

"What is he going to Europe for?" Natasha asked.

“We have a friend whose ancestors were lords somewhere in Europe. They went to Europe to do archaeology,” Li Qun replied.

"where?"

"They treated it as a tourist destination in Romania."

"Is that friend a man or a woman?" Natasha asked with concern.

“It’s a man, not my boyfriend,” Li Qun said.

"uh-huh."

Do you all know Wade?

Natasha looked around at the people in the room; Peter and Gwen were both nodding.

“Are you familiar with his previous work?” Natasha asked.

"Used car sales," Li Qun said.

“Killer,” Peter said.

“Bodyguards,” Gwen said.

Natasha's polite smile slowly faded as she looked at Peter.

“What’s your name, boy?” Natasha asked Peter.

"My name is Peter Parker."

“Parker, you don’t actually believe everything Wade says, do you?” Natasha asked.

“I was just joking,” Peter said blankly.

"It's good that you didn't take it seriously."

"I have to go now, goodbye."

Natasha left like the wind, gone as soon as she was told.

"Who's here?" Stephanie asked curiously as she came out of her room.

"Wade's ex-wife."

“She comes to New York every Thanksgiving to visit her sister and check if Wade has caused her any trouble,” Li Qun explained.

"Wade was married?!" Stephanie was also shocked.

“You’re late. Wade’s ex-wife is a real beauty. Look at Peter, she’s got him completely smitten,” Gwen said to Stephanie.
