As the greatsword thrust towards him, he turned to the side, extended his right hand, placed his palm on the spine of the sword, and gently guided it along the direction of the blade's trajectory.
The greatsword's trajectory shifted, its blade slicing past Yuuto's side and piercing the large tree behind him, blasting a large hole in the trunk.
Yu Ren simultaneously reached out with his left hand, grabbed the wrist of the giant sword Pseudo-Crown Marquis, and channeled the power of the reversed triple dragon and tiger into his five fingers, twisting them sharply.
The sound of bones cracking was exceptionally clear in the night sky.
The greatsword-wielding False Crown Marquis's wrist was twisted at an impossible angle, and silvery-gray liquid gushed out from the gaps in his armor. The greatsword slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground with a dull thud.
Yuuto did not let go.
Thunderclap exploded in his palm, blue and white arcs of electricity shooting up the pseudo-crown marquis's arm and onto his shoulder, blasting the silver-gray mist between the gaps in his armor into a scattering frenzy.
The fake crowned marquis's body suddenly stiffened, arcs of electricity coursing through his body, from his shoulders to his chest, from his chest to his waist and abdomen, and finally from his waist and abdomen to the soles of his feet. His body began to convulse uncontrollably.
Yu Ren released his grip, and the fake crowned marquis staggered back a few steps, kneeling on one knee with his greatsword stuck in the ground beside him, supporting his body so he didn't fall.
“You’re too slow.” Yuuto stood in front of him, looking down at him. “You’re not strong enough either. You can’t hit me, and you can’t withstand my attacks.”
The Greatsword-wielding False Crown Marquis raised his head. His expression was hidden beneath the pale mask, but Yuuto could sense his anger.
Silver-gray mist surged wildly from the gaps in his armor, swirling around him and enveloping him in a pale, misty haze.
Yuuto didn't wait for him.
With his left hand forming a hand seal, dozens of Five Thunder Talismans instantly materialized at his fingertips, and lightning poured down like a torrential rain, crashing down on the fog.
The fog trembled violently amidst the lightning, and the silvery-gray mist was blasted into countless fragments.
As the lightning dissipated, the Greatsword Pseudo-Crown Marquis was still standing there, his armor covered in cracks, from which silvery-gray liquid seeped, but he did not fall.
He reached out and grasped the greatsword stuck in the ground. Silver-gray mist surged from his palm into the blade, and the pale light on the blade shone brightly again.
Yuuto stared at his greatsword, which had been repaired by the mist, his expression unchanged.
He took out another magical artifact from the system space.
Divine Machine Refinement - Sword Qi Shuttle.
The spindle-shaped magical artifact spun in his palm, its edges gleaming coldly.
With a gentle push, the sword energy shuttle transformed into a streak of light, heading straight for the face of the giant sword-wielding pseudo-crown lord.
The fake crowned marquis swung his sword to block, but the sword energy shuttle collided with the blade, exploding into a circle of golden flames, and he was blasted away.
But the sword energy shuttle tumbled a few times in the air before quickly regaining its footing and stabbing at the back of the pseudo-crown marquis's neck from the side.
The fake-crowned marquis dodged to the side, the sword energy whizzing past his mask.
But the instant he dodged the sword aura shuttle, Yuuto had already appeared behind him.
Lightning teleportation.
Kikuichimonji was drawn from its sheath, lightning magic imbued the blade, and blue and white arcs of electricity danced on the edge.
Yu Ren slashed at the waist of the False Crown Marquis with his blade, the blade cutting into the armor, the bone armor, and the soft tissue.
Silvery-gray liquid gushed from the wound, splashing onto Yuren's clothes.
The False Crown Marquis suddenly bent over, his giant sword sweeping across, forcing Youren back.
Yuuto did not pursue, but took a few steps back, holding the Kikuichimonji horizontally in front of him, with lightning crackling on its blade.
The Greatsword-wielding False Crown Marquis clutched the wound on his side, silvery-gray liquid oozing from between his fingers.
His breathing had noticeably weakened.
Warhammer False Crown Marquis was trapped by the Spirit Binding Lock. He struggled to stand up, but the chains tightened more and more, binding him up like a dumpling.
He roared, slamming his warhammer into the ground, sending shards of stone flying, trying to use the force to break free. The chains of the Soul-Binding Lock made a screeching sound, but they did not break.
Youren didn't look at him; his gaze fell on the giant sword, the pseudo-crown lord.
"Do you still want to fight?"
The Greatsword Master remained silent, only gripping his greatsword tighter. Silver-gray mist seeped from the gaps in his armor, swirling around the blade and repairing most of the cracks.
He held the greatsword horizontally in front of him, the tip pointed at Yuuto. His meaning was clear.
Yu Ren sighed. He took out a dark gold bead from his system space.
Divine Refinement · Immobilization Bead
The bead spun once in his palm, then transformed into a golden light and flew toward the giant sword, the False Crown Marquis.
The golden light struck the false crowned marquis's chest, exploding into a golden halo.
The False Crown Marquis's body suddenly stiffened, his giant sword held in mid-air, motionless.
The immobilization bead cannot immobilize the enemy for too long, but for Yuuto, a few seconds is enough.
Yuuto walked up to the fake Guanhou, holding the Kikuichimonji horizontally in front of him, the tip of the knife aimed at the fake Guanhou's throat.
"Is there anything else you want to say?" Yuuto asked.
The Greatsword-wielding False Crown Marquis did not answer. His head lowered further, and the sword slid out of the soil, tilting to one side with a muffled thud.
His hand was still gripping the sword hilt, but he no longer had the strength to lift it.
Yuuto waited a moment, then asked no further questions. Kikuichimonji was raised, the tip of the blade aimed at the throat of the False Crown Lord.
The fake crowned marquis neither dodged nor blocked; he simply knelt there, motionless.
With a flick of his wrist, Youren sent the blade slicing across the neck of the False Crown Marquis.
Without the clang of metal clashing, without the crisp sound of bone armor shattering, the blade sliced through the soft tissue and grayish-white bone armor between the gaps in the armor, sliced through the dark red putrid fluid beneath, and sliced through the body that was already on the verge of falling apart.
The false crowned marquis's head slid off his neck, crashed to the ground, rolled twice, and came to rest in the rubble. The mask shattered completely, revealing the grayish-white bone fragments beneath.
The torso remained kneeling for a few seconds before tilting forward and crashing to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Silvery-gray mist gushed out from the broken edge and quickly dissipated.
The armor lost its support, peeled off the torso, and broke into pieces, scattered among the rubble and withered branches.
The greatsword was still in his hand, but the pale white cloth strip on the hilt had fallen off, revealing the dark metal underneath.
Yu Ren sheathed his sword and turned to walk towards the Warhammer False Crown Marquis.
Warhammer False Crown Marquis lay on the ground, the Soul-Binding Locks loosened, but he did not stand up. Not that he did not want to stand, but that he could not.
His left leg had been pierced by the sword aura during the battle, his armor below the knee was shattered, his bone armor was also broken, and grayish-white bone marrow was exposed at the break.
The warhammer lay beside him, its pale runes completely faded, and its surface was covered with cracks, like a stone about to fall apart.
He heard Yuuto's footsteps and turned to look at him. The mask was still intact, its pale light flickering on it like a lamp about to go out.
He didn't speak or struggle; he just lay there, waiting.
Yuuto walked up to him and looked down at him. Warhammer False Crown Marquis moved his lips, and a muffled, hoarse voice came from behind his mask.
It was unclear what he was saying; perhaps it was his last words, or perhaps just meaningless syllables.
Yu Ren didn't ask.
Kikuichimonji raised his sword, the tip aimed at the false crowned lord's chest. The false crowned lord closed his eyes. Yuuto flicked his wrist, the blade piercing the armor, the bone armor, and the body that was about to fall apart.
The False Crown Marquis's body stiffened abruptly, then slowly relaxed.
His fingers slipped from the warhammer and hung limply to the ground.
Silvery-gray mist seeped from the wound in his chest, dissipating quickly and vanishing in seconds. His armor, having lost its support, peeled off his torso and shattered into pieces.
The mask's light completely extinguished, turning it into a grayish-white, lifeless object. Yuuto drew his sword and turned to walk towards Tsukumo Yuki.
Tsukumo, stationed on the other side of the battlefield, watched Yuuto walk over.
The false-crowned marquis, wielding a halberd, remained kneeling, the halberd embedded in the ground, supporting his body and preventing him from falling. His armor was more intact than the other two, but it was also covered in cracks.
Silvery-gray mist slowly seeped out of the crack, dissipating very slowly, as if it were barely clinging to life.
Ninety-Nine glanced at him but didn't make a move. It wasn't that she didn't want to kill him, but that she felt it was unnecessary.
This guy's already useless; it doesn't matter whether he's killed or not. But when Yuuto walked over, he glanced at her, and the meaning of that glance was very clear.
Ninety-Nine sighed, and the Phoenix Wheel flew past her, its golden light flashing briefly in the twilight.
The Phoenix Wheel struck the False Crown Marquis in the chest, and golden flames exploded. The False Crown Marquis's body flew backward and crashed into a large tree, cracking the trunk.
He slid down, still clutching the halberd, but no longer had the strength to lift it. The Phoenix Wheel circled in the air, then flew back and landed beside Ninety-Nine.
Ninety-nine didn't look at the fake crowned marquis, but turned to look at Youren.
Yuuto walked up to the fake crowned marquis, and Kikuichimonji raised his sword, the tip pointing at his throat.
The fake crowned marquis raised his head, revealing half of his ashen face beneath the tattered mask. He was expressionless, but his gaze was calm. He didn't struggle, he didn't speak, he just looked at Youren.
"Kill me." The voice of the False Crown Marquis was squeezed out of his throat, hoarse and weak, but clear.
With a flick of his wrist, Youren sent the blade slicing across the neck of the False Crown Marquis.
The head slid off, hit the ground, rolled twice, and came to rest in a pile of dead leaves.
His torso leaned forward, the halberd slipped from his hand and crashed to the ground with a dull metallic clang.
Silvery-gray mist gushed out from the broken edge and then dissipated.
The armor peeled off his torso and shattered into pieces. Yuuto sheathed his sword and turned to look at Tsukumo Yuki.
Ninety-nine leaned against a large tree, her Phoenix Wheels retracted into her sleeves. The tear in her coat was barely visible in the twilight, and her long golden hair was slightly disheveled by the night wind.
She took a mint out of her pocket, unwrapped it, popped it into her mouth, chewed it a couple of times, and then turned to look at Yuuto.
"Have you resolved it on your end?"
“It’s resolved.” Youren walked to her side and glanced into the depths of the forest.
The stagnant fluctuations of magical energy remained, neither approaching nor receding, hovering somewhere deep within the forest, like a hunter waiting for its prey to reveal a weakness. "The Pale Knight is still waiting."
"Wait for what?" Ninety-Nine swallowed the mint.
"Wait until we show a weakness."
Ninety-Nine nodded without replying. She released the Phoenix Wheel from her sleeve, and the golden disc slowly rotated beside her, its light growing brighter.
Her spell power and Phoenix Wheel had mostly recovered. If she were to fight again, she could last for more than ten minutes.
Yu Ren took out several Qi-restoring pills from his system space and gave a few to Jiu Jiu. Jiu Jiu took them, popped them into his mouth, and swallowed them.
