What's going on? Are the Twelve Knights of the Round Table sixth-order superhumans who can live for thousands of years?

But why do they feel like they're only around level five?

“My King, we…” Gawain was about to speak when Artoria interrupted him gently.

“I know, there’s no need to explain, Gao Wenqing. You were sent here by a great god, right?”

"Yes, it is that god."

“I’m so glad to see you all again. Welcome back, Lord Gawain, Lord Lancelot, Lord Agravivan, Lord Tristan.” Artoria’s face was full of joy, and her heart was pounding with excitement. Finally, she looked at Mordred, who was biting his lip as if he had done something wrong.

"And my son, Mordred."

She was no longer the single-minded King Arthur who only knew how to pursue his ideals and save others. She learned from the god of wisdom, Buyer, what it meant to be a true king. She could understand everyone, reconcile all relationships, and knew how to guide people.

"Eh..." Mordred suddenly raised her head, looking at the smiling Artoria in disbelief: "I, I, Arthur..."

Father actually acknowledged her identity? When they met again, there was no harshness, no coldness, and even his voice was so gentle.

Her timid heart seemed to be warmed by the sunshine, as if the dark clouds that had been hanging over her had disappeared.

"What's wrong? Mordred, why are you calling me so formally?" Artoria smiled.

Mordred is an artificial human created by her sister Morgan, who was jealous of her succession to the throne, using her bloodline. Mordred looks like she is fifteen or sixteen years old, but she is actually only seven or eight.

Because she is an artificial human, her lifespan is only twenty years.

Looking back now, the core reason for Camelot's destruction and the disintegration of the Knights of the Round Table was her own fault; she had no one else to blame.

If Camelot hadn't been solely focused on saving Britain, and had instead looked back at the knights and people who expected her to guide their future, Camelot would never have acted that way. Even Guinevere would have been different; if she had confessed from the beginning that she was also a woman and hadn't married her to uphold the dignity of the royal family, everything would have been different.

“Father, Father King…” Mordred stammered cautiously, his cheeks flushed.

"Yes, get up, everyone." Artoria nodded.

"Father!" Mordred's nose tingled, his eyes welled up with tears, and the resentment and injustice he felt at being denied vanished in that moment.

"My King!" The Knights of the Round Table all stood up, but dared not look directly into their king's eyes, which seemed to be able to see through people's hearts.

“The past is the past,” Artoria said. “Now that you’re all back, let’s start afresh and not dwell on the past.”

"Yes!" the Knights of the Round Table replied in unison, their hearts filled with excitement. The king's magnanimity made them feel ashamed of their own worries.

Artoria's expression turned serious: "Let bygones be bygones, but there is one thing you must be honest with."

Having already reached the second level of godhood, how could she not see the intense aura of sin emanating from them, except for Bedivere, which was so strong it seemed to reveal the 'face of sin'?

The 'face of evil' can only appear on sinners of a single civilization.

As a sinner against civilization, all she knew was that the two new worlds existed: one was being reconstructed by civilization, and the other was directly subjected to a world-destroying flood by the Master, which restarted the entire world.

She couldn't believe that her Knights of the Round Table had become sinners against civilization. What terrible sins had they committed?

Thinking of this, she felt a surge of anger as she looked at the round tables that dared not look her in the eye.

The twelve codes of chivalry and the virtues she established did not teach them to do evil!

"I, my king..."

They were overwhelmed by Artoria's sudden aura, which, though not as powerful as that of the other deified King, was far more awe-inspiring. This was not divine might, but royal might. Cold sweat instantly soaked the clothes under their armor, and beads of sweat dripped down their faces.

They had just stood up when they immediately knelt down, beads of sweat dripping from their faces onto the ground in front of them.

*Thud!* Artoria stared at them, raised her hand, and slammed it on the table, causing the 'bowl' in front of her to bounce.

"My Round Table! My Knights! Tell me, what did you do before you came here! In my eyes, countless resentments and sins are entangled within you!"

The sound of the table being slammed sent a shiver through them, who were already tormented by moral anguish. Their expressions instantly turned painful, and the joy of seeing their loyal king again vanished, replaced by endless regret welling up from the bottom of their hearts.

“My King! I’m sorry! We are guilty! We have trampled on the virtues you established for us at the Round Table.” Gawain’s face was full of pain and remorse.

Lancelot, Tristan, Agrave, and Mordred remained silent, but their expressions had turned into masks of pain.

Bedivere looked at his colleagues in disbelief. What had you done?

"Lord Bedivere, stand up and recite the Eight Virtues of Knighthood to them!" Artoria roared.

She had never used her royal authority to punish any knight. At the time, she believed that a king should be benevolent and that punishing subordinates was the act of a tyrant. But now she understood that punishment was actually a redemption for subordinates who had made mistakes, otherwise guilt and remorse would overwhelm them.

Eleanor, Gavin, Allen, and Quentin swallowed hard in fear. It was the first time they had ever seen their king angry. Usually, the king was all smiles and had a gentle temper, like a spring breeze.

At the same time, looking at the legendary knights in the 'Legend of King Arthur' before them, they could vaguely sense the 'aura of sin' once they reached the third rank, and those at the fourth and fifth ranks could see it even more clearly.

That's why they felt resentment when they first sensed the aura of the legendary Round Table; at that time, they subconsciously thought that the Fallen Ones had invaded the headquarters of the Knights of the Round Table.

What exactly did they do? What exactly did my revered predecessors do?!

Gavin clenched his fists involuntarily, feeling a fire burning in his chest.

To him at that moment, it was as if the idol he worshipped was actually a scoundrel who was skilled in all sorts of vices, including drinking, gambling, prostitution, and theft.

"Bedewell! Read the chivalrous virtues to them." Artoria looked at the stunned Bedivere.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" Bedivere snapped out of his daze, cold sweat beading on his forehead. It was the first time he had ever seen such a majestic king.

"The Eight Virtues of Knighthood are the code of conduct set by our King for all knights. As a knight, you must at least abide by seven of them."

"Humility: Be polite, respect others, and maintain a humble attitude towards all those who are kind."

"Honor: Fight for honor, sacrifice everything, and earn recognition through combat experience and leadership."

"Sacrifice: Being willing to make sacrifices for the greater good when necessary, including material or personal costs."

"Heroism: Fearlessly declare war on evil, protect the weak in critical moments, and never back down."

"Compassion: showing sympathy for the weak, protecting women, children and the elderly, and embodying the mission of eliminating evil and upholding justice."

Honesty means being true to one's own soul, being consistent in word and deed, and building interpersonal trust through integrity.

"Justice: Upholding the law, acting in accordance with regulations, and fighting against injustice and evil."

"Keeping promises: Promises made to others must not be broken, and must be kept until they are fulfilled."

“That’s all,” Bedivere finished reading.

With each name Bedivere uttered—Gawain, Agravure, Lancelot, Mordred, Tristan—his head drooped two inches, until finally it hit the ground.

Under the King's gaze, the newcomers of the Knights of the Round Table had no face to raise their heads or let them see them.

"Tell me everything, in detail, what heinous things have you done!" Artoria said angrily. "As your queen, I will not allow my knights to commit wrongdoings and go unpunished!"

"I must punish you with a punishment equal to the severity of your mistakes!"

“This is what I have always dreamed of, my king.” Lancelot raised his head, and tears of guilt and remorse streamed from his eyes.

He has waited far too long to hear those words from our king.

He was initially saddened by Guinevere's neglect by the king and saw the king's sorrowful expression. In order to help the king alleviate his worries, he privately spoke with Guinevere and learned of the king's true identity. He felt compassion for Guinevere's years of burdens and became her confidante, which led to the events that followed.

When his affair with Guinevere came to light, Guinevere willingly took the blame and went to the stake. The king, however, forgave him as if nothing had happened. Guilt and remorse overwhelmed him, so he stormed the execution ground to rescue Guinevere. On the way, he fought Gareth and Gaheris, and ultimately killed them by mistake.

Gareth is Gawain's sister, which makes him Gawain's enemy, ultimately leading to the disintegration of the entire United Kingdom.

His purpose in disrupting the execution platform was simply to get the king to punish him and give him a punishment commensurate with his actions.

“This is what happened, my king.” Lancelot recounted how he had been summoned to the Round Table by the Holy Lance goddess Rungomminiad, including the ‘Incineration of Humanity’ and the goddess’s plan to redeem humanity.

Eleanor, Gavin, and the others were completely bewildered. What was this "another deified King"? Wasn't the King a god? Summoning Servants? 'Humanity Burning'? 'Sixth Singularity'? The Crusades? Jerusalem a thousand years ago? Preserving those who select pure souls?

Are there still so many secrets in the world? Do people become 'heroic spirits' and ascend to the 'Hall of Heroes' after death? Are there even 'human evil beasts' capable of burning history?

"I see..." Artoria frowned. As a Heroic Spirit, she already knew these things.

“This is utterly absurd! Although you are not the source, the crimes you have committed will not be diminished in the slightest.”

If I were in another parallel world, I could understand why Gao Wenqing and his accomplices did such absurd things, but that's not a reason to forgive them. Otherwise, who will forgive the innocent people they killed?

"Gawain! Lancelot! Tristan! Agraven! Mordred!"

"Now I announce your trial!"

They felt relieved at this moment, and all looked up at their king, who had a disappointed expression on his face. Being punished was what they wanted.

"I will send you to hell to suffer the same pain as your sins, and let you feel the resentment of the innocent people you killed."

"Yes, Your Majesty! We accept the punishment." They said respectfully, deeply moved. Their king's punishment was just, and he had truly become the holy king in their hearts. Their loyalty had become even more unwavering.

“Before heading to hell, let’s celebrate your return.” Artoria’s tone softened. “Irene, have the canteen send over some more food and ale.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” Irene nodded, then walked towards the door. Before leaving, she glanced expressionlessly at the legendary Knights of the Round Table kneeling on one knee. She was furious; these were the idols she and her brother worshipped, yet they had done something to defile the knights.

“Stand up, sit down,” Artoria said.

"Yes!" Lancelot, Agravan, Gawain, Tristan, and Mordred stood up and sat in the empty seats at the round table. Having been sentenced by the king, they felt relieved.

The angry looks they received from Gavin, Allen, and Quentin were agonizing for them.

Bedivere remained silent, his feelings a complex mix.

Gavin clenched his fists, veins bulging on his face: "My king, I must express my opinion at this moment!"

"Please speak, Lord Gavin." Artoria nodded, sighing inwardly. Gavin had once admired the Twelve Seats of the Round Table, and now he was furious. As a senior, he had left such an embarrassing reversal for the junior who admired him.

Gavin glared at his seniors sitting at the round table, his clenched fists cracking, his chest feeling like it was about to explode with gunpowder.

"Lancelot! Gawain! Agraven! Tristan! Mordred!"

"Until you have atoned for your sins! I, Gavin! The thirteenth seat of the Round Table! And now the Grand Master of the Knights of the Round Table! I will never acknowledge you as part of the Round Table!"

Gavin practically roared, “The round table! No sinner shall be allowed to sit on it!”

"Me too!"

"Same as above!"

Allen and Quentin glared at them. To allow someone so full of evil to wear the name of the Round Table, or even sit at the Round Table, would be an insult to all the knights of the Order who fought for justice, and an insult to the whole of Britain today!

“What Gavin said is also what I think,” Artoria said.

"I apologize for disappointing Your Majesty, and for disappointing you, Gavin the Unyielding Knight, Grand Master of the Knights of the Round Table." Lancelot bowed.

"Sorry!" Gawain, Agravan, Tristan, and Mordred all bowed to them in unison.

They all agreed that Gavin was the 'leader'. They had all heard about Gavin's deeds from others, and they believed that they could never do what Gavin did, so they were convinced of his abilities, even Mordred, who was not convinced.

Soon, the chef pushed the food cart through the door, looking at the unfamiliar knight sitting at the round table with some surprise. Although he was puzzled, he didn't say a word.

The chefs of the Knights of the Round Table are all second-tier transcendents, but they are not good at fighting. It is their ideal of healing people's hearts with their cooking skills and food that has earned them the Holy Mark. As long as their wishes and ideals are positive, they can be promoted to transcendents.
