"That's murder! No matter who they are, that's illegal! With that kind of thinking... you're practically a potential criminal!"

Do you have any evidence?

Even with her collar being grabbed and her toes even leaving the ground, Kazama Chiba did not struggle.

He simply stared silently into those bloodshot eyes.

"The surveillance cameras captured me leaving, right? Was there blood on me? Did I have any weapons?"

"I was just passing by."

He pried open Kosaka Itsuki's fingers.

"If you don't believe me, you're welcome to check. Go get a DNA test, a lie detector test, whatever you want."

"But is the questioning over now? I need to go home. My cat is waiting for me to feed it."

"Calm down, Kosaka."

Yamoto Taro reached out and pressed down on his partner's shoulder.

He finally took the cigarette out of his mouth. The light in his eyes became even deeper and more dangerous.

That kid.

not simple.

His composure when facing the police is something that an ordinary high school student should not possess.

"I'm not going to argue with you about moral issues."

Yamoto Taro held the cigarette butt in his hand.

"I'll only ask you one question."

"Besides those three people and that girl, did you see the murderer when you left?"

Kazama Chiba looked at him.

Their gazes met in the dusty air.

"No."

Kazama Chiba spread her hands, striking the perfect pose of an innocent bystander.

"I just glanced at it as I passed by, and then I left."

"If you don't believe me, you can check that surveillance footage again."

"I'm sure that camera captured me, right?"

"besides."

Kazama Chiba glanced at her watch.

“Unless there’s no other evidence, officer. Lunch break is almost over. I need to go back to class. After all, I’m a law-abiding and studious student, aren’t I?”

Yamoto Taro waved his hand, his voice a little hoarse.

"Get lost."

"But don't think this is over until we've got it all figured out... kid. I'll be watching you. If you give even the slightest hint..."

"I'm ready to serve you anytime."

Kazama Chiba gave a slight bow, her politeness impeccable.

Two policemen were left standing in the dimly lit, empty classroom.

Kosaka Itsuki said unhappily.

"Senior! You just let him go? There's definitely something wrong with that kid! That look in his eyes... those words... he's practically a potential murderer!"

Yamoto Taro remained silent for a long time.

He put the crushed cigarette back into his mouth, but still didn't light it.

"There is a problem. A big problem."

He stared at the tightly closed door.

"But Kosaka, you heard it too."

"Although his words are disgusting, and his logic is twisted, he is right."

"We have no evidence."

"As long as the surveillance footage didn't capture him doing it. As long as his fingerprints and DNA aren't found at the scene. Even if he really did it..."

"There's nothing we can do about him."

"This is the law, something we must protect."

Chapter 18 The Strange Big Sister

Just stepped out of the oppressive temporary interrogation room

Before Kazama Chiba could even catch her breath, the door next door, which had a "in use" label on it, was suddenly slammed open.

A red shadow charged out like a mad bull.

Before Kazama Chiba could react, a strong scent of perfume and sweat pressed in front of her.

Immediately following was a tremendous thrust, and his back slammed heavily against the hard wall.

"It's you! It must be you!"

Shizuku Mereina's once pretty face was now twisted like a demon from hell. She grabbed Kazama Chiba's collar tightly with both hands and shoved him against the concrete wall of the corridor.

"You killed him! You bastard!"

"Who else could it be but you? I'm going to kill you! I'll make you pay with your life!"

Her voice was shrill, and her spittle almost landed on Kazama Chihiro's face.

The policewoman who followed behind looked bewildered.

"Wait! Dude! Calm down!"

The policewoman rushed up and tried to pull Shizuku's hand away.

But this delinquent girl, who usually only bullies others, suddenly unleashed astonishing strength, gripping Qianyu's collar tightly and refusing to let go.

"Bullshit! Calm down my ass!"

Shizuku Mereina turned around and yelled at the policewoman, then stared intently at Kazama Chiba.

“Ah Gang only taught you a lesson yesterday! He just made you kneel down and kowtow! And you actually…you actually…”

Although the policewoman is in an office job, she has at least received professional training.

She grabbed Shizuku Messana's wrist and forcibly pulled her off Kazama Chiba.

"Let me go! I'm going to kill him! He's a murderer!"

Sarina struggled desperately, with astonishing strength, and even the policewoman almost couldn't hold her down.

"Calm down! There is currently no evidence to suggest that Kazama-kun is a suspect!"

While the policewoman was restraining her, she turned to Kazama Chiba with an apologetic expression. "I'm sorry, Kazama-san. She's the victim Yamada Tsuyoshi's girlfriend. She just heard the news... and she's a little overwhelmed with emotion."

Your words reminded me; I had actually missed one.

Kazama Chiba reached out and patted the wrinkled collar of her clothes, looking at her as she spoke.

"You say I killed him. On what grounds? Where is the evidence?"

"Why?! Because Gang messed with you on the rooftop yesterday!" Shizuku Mereina roared. "Because you, a dark and twisted pervert, must be holding a grudge! No one but you would do such a thing!"

Typical robber logic.

Because I am presumed guilty, you must prove your innocence.

Kazama Chiba sneered inwardly.

This is what is known as a bully's mindset.

In their world, they are the ones who bully others. If the victim resists, or even shows the slightest unwillingness, they are labeled as "sore," "narrow-minded," or "heinous criminals."

"Is this your logic? Because he bullied me, I killed him? That only proves he deserved to die, not that I did it."

He stepped forward, and the sudden burst of his aura startled Shizuku Sarina.

"You're saying I'm a murderer. Fine?"

"The police are all here."

Kazama Chiba glanced at the policewoman who was trying to pull Shizukume away.

“If I were guilty, I should be handcuffed right now, not here listening to your madness.”

"Since the police haven't arrested me, what gives you the right to convict me? Based on your brain, which is smaller than a walnut kernel?"

"you……"

Shizuku Messina was speechless. Indeed, she had no evidence; all she had was her absolute intuition. But such intuition was worthless in the face of the law.

"If you really think it's me."

Kazama Chiba moved a little closer.

"Then let's go look for it! Go to the scene and look. Maybe there really is something left there? Like my fingerprints?"

"you--!!"

Shizukume was so angry that she trembled all over.

"You bastard! Murderer! You think you can get away with this? I'll find the evidence! No matter how well you hide, I'll put you in jail! I'll find you even if I have to dig three feet into the ground!"

Suddenly, she unleashed a burst of incredible strength and flung the policewoman's hand away.

"You wait! Kazama Chiba! I'm going right now! Even if I have to dig up that alley three feet into the ground, I'll find evidence that you committed murder!"

After uttering those harsh words, she turned and ran.

"Shizukume-san! Come back! That area is sealed off!"
