Next came the Weasley twins, and then Harry, Harry, and his two friends.
Just like last year, they pushed their luggage and rushed towards the platform, knocking Harry and Ron senseless.
Kane fared slightly better, because after seeing Harry and Ron crash into the wall, he quickly used Shadow to bring himself to a sudden stop.
After all, Harry and Ron had a small cart in front of them, so the cart could cushion their impact if they bumped into the wall.
All his luggage was inside the little pumpkin's belly. If he didn't stop in time, he would really be running into a wall with no cover.
"What's going on?" Kane was puzzled and wanted to use Shadow Probe to find out what was going on at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, but Harry and Ron stopped him.
"What are you doing?" Kane asked the two men, looking at them with suspicion.
“Platform 9¾ is closed,” Harry said.
"So? Aren't I trying to figure something out right now?" Kane said, raising an eyebrow.
“No, no, no, you didn’t understand what Harry meant,” Ron said at this moment.
"..."
Seeing that Kane was still completely bewildered, Harry and Ron finally decided to take a direct approach.
“Don’t you think that the current situation, with Platform Nine and Three-Quarters closed, presents a good opportunity for us to get to school in other ways?” Harry said.
“Like riding your mantis shrimp!” Ron was even more direct.
"Hey! This isn't the time for jokes!" Kane quickly shook his head and refused.
If it were a stranger, they might have been intimidated by Kane's serious demeanor, but Harry and Ron knew Kane very well. They simply snorted and then stared at him without moving.
Kane saw their serious expressions and almost lost his composure, but not completely; he just managed a stiff, forced smile.
Seeing Kane's arc, Harry and Ron immediately followed suit, also mimicking the arc.
The three of them just looked at each other, and eventually the curves of their lips became more and more abstract and unrestrained.
"Actually, if possible..." Kane finally spoke up quietly, "I've filled up the little pumpkin, so I'll give you two pounds, and you can each buy a luggage bag."
Kane then generously gave Harry and Ron two pounds each.
Soon, in the alley where Mr. Weasley had parked his car, the car was long gone, leaving only Kane and his two companions there to prepare the mantis shrimp.
Two bags were hung on the left and right sides at the very back, and then small pumpkins were used to hold them in place.
Kane rode at the very front, followed by Harry, Ron, and Pipi Shrimp. There were three of them, and there was still room to spare.
"Ready?" Kane slowly raised the head of the mantis shrimp broom, and Harry suddenly realized what was happening.
"Wait a minute, something's not right. We're in a busy city. Even if the mantis shrimp is fast, it will take a long time for the flying broom to reach the clouds. What if we get spotted?"
Ron quickly realized that this was indeed a very serious problem. Allowing Muggles to see magic was a major crime in the magical world, and in severe cases, it could even be comparable to murder.
Kane, however, remained calm and collected: "Don't panic, you two. Do you really think my broom's only feature is speed?"
"Otherwise what? Do you think your broom can become invisible?" Ron asked.
"Hmph." Kane curled the corners of his mouth slightly. Suddenly, the huge gem on the broom flashed, and the two of them appeared in mid-air. After a few more flashes, Harry and Ron realized that they had arrived in the clouds.
"Not buddy? Your broom can teleport?" Harry asked, pressing him for an answer.
"When did I say this broom couldn't teleport? Anyway, we're safe now. It's just a few flashes that last less than a second. Even if someone sees it, it'll disappear in the blink of an eye. They'll just think they're seeing things. Don't worry." Kane finished speaking and looked at the Hogwarts Express on the ground, which was already rumbling and emitting white smoke.
"Alright, we should get going. Let's control our speed; maybe we can catch up with Hermione." Kane said, flying slowly through the clouds until the Hogwarts Express left the city area before suddenly accelerating and diving.
"Wow, this is so awesome! Even if Hermione scolds me, it's worth the ticket price!"
Chapter Ninety-Seven: Returning to School
Kane suddenly accelerated, and in almost a few seconds he descended from the clouds, began flying close to the ground, and started circling the Hogwarts Express.
The young wizards inside quickly noticed the strange broom that was flying with the train, and they all curiously poked their heads out of the windows, including Hermione.
From the sound of a flying broom chasing the train outside, and considering that she hadn't seen any of Kane, Harry, or Ron since boarding the train, she pretty much knew that the three of them must be sneaking around together again, plotting something big.
She immediately walked helplessly toward the locomotive, hoping the train driver would slow down so the three of them could catch up with the train.
Meanwhile, the three people on the mantis shrimp began to strangely feel the train's speed decreasing, to a bizarre speed that even a mantis shrimp idling could easily overtake, forcing them to intentionally slow down and brake to avoid overtaking the flying broom.
Just then, a window in one of the train carriages suddenly opened, and Hermione called out to Kane and the other two on the mantis shrimp, "I've slowed down the train, hurry up and get on!"
Kane turned to Harry and Ron: "Shall we go in?"
Harry and Ron didn't even look at each other this time: "You know, we never want to ride those slow little trains."
Kane understood. He slowly approached the window that Hermione had opened on the Hogwarts Express.
"Come here quickly!" Hermione called out, reaching out her hand.
"Come on up! We'll take you back to school early."
Ron called out to Hermione.
"Are you crazy? Riding flying broomsticks to Hogwarts? Professor McGonagall will put us in detention!" Hermione looked at the three people on the shrimp with a bewildered expression.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We only got to ride broomsticks because the platform passage was blocked. If we miss this chance, we might not have another one next year!” Harry shouted at this moment.
Harry had barely finished speaking when he heard the train driver yell from inside the cab: "You three on the broom, get in here right now! If you don't get in, the train's brakes are going to catch fire!"
“Who isn’t?” Kane scoffed, then leaned closer to the Hogwarts Express.
"Oh my god, I must be crazy." Hermione instinctively reached out and grabbed Ron and Harry, forcefully leaning herself out of the car window. Kane suddenly lowered the broom, jolting Hermione back in.
"When will we get to school? At this rate, around midnight?" Hermione, sitting at the back, suddenly realized she was in a terrifying situation and asked helplessly.
"Most likely, two hours? If I try my best, one hour."
After Kane finished speaking, he completely abandoned the brake sweeper. The violent and awesome 12Y broom engine, plus the lazy man's wand that increased speed by 25%, completely invaded his brain.
“Hermione, I think you should hug Ron, like Ron hugs Harry, and Harry hugs me,” Kane suddenly said.
"Huh? A little train?" Hermione didn't know why, but she still hugged Ron, who was sitting in front of her.
“But is it really necessary to go at a speed that’s slower than when my dad takes me for a drive?” Hermione asked, frowning.
"Kids, the brake pads are overheating... How come another one has left?" The train driver had just come out of the cab to check if Kane and the other two had boarded the train, only to find that another passenger had been mercilessly lost.
He quickly poked his head out of the window with a puzzled look on his face and said to Kane and the others.
Talking wasn't enough; he took out his wand from his pocket, intending to use the Summoning Charm to slowly lure the four of them over.
Kane quickly used Shadow Armor to deflect the incoming spell: "Alright, driver, thank you for cooperating. I can only say that my brake pads are overheating too!"
After Kane finished speaking, he released the brake completely. In an instant, the Hogwarts Express was like a mini car on the highway seeing a car with an engine bigger than its own. It sped away in a flash, and Kane couldn't even see the taillights of the car.
"Merlin? Whose young master stole a custom-made broom from his home? Is this in accordance with the Ministry of Magic's laws?" The train driver glanced at the flying broom with its black streaks of light and almost instantly identified Kane.
After thinking about it, I decided to go back and continue driving the train.
What if I say something too much and anger the young master, and then he loses his job as a train driver? I can't really go back home and take over those six rent collection shops in Diagon Alley, can I?
That's not the life I want.
Meanwhile, Hermione was strangling Ron like an Ultraman controlling a little monster, making him scream in pain.
"Hey Hermione! I can't breathe! Can you let go?" Ron said with difficulty, rolling his eyes.
"No, you need to hold onto Harry right away, or we'll be thrown off!" Hermione tightened her grip just as much, gritting her teeth as she added even more force to her mission of strangling Ron.
"Kane, maybe we should speed things up, or Ron might suffocate before we even get to Hogwarts," Harry said to Kane, looking at Ron's miserable state behind him.
"What the hell? This isn't even the top speed?" Hermione suddenly stuck her head out from behind and said in shock.
"If we compare it to a car, its tachometer is currently less than two thousand revolutions." Kane said, then suddenly lunged at the demon gate again, causing the whole shrimp to shudder, and then Hermione lost consciousness.
Oh, Ron also lost consciousness, but the difference is that Hermione's loss of consciousness may be due to overload, while Ron's loss of consciousness may be due to oxygen deprivation caused by being strangled.
Of the four people on the mantis shrimp, only Harry, who was the Seeker, could barely hold on, besides the exceptionally talented ace pilot Kane.
“Um…they’re both pretty dizzy, I think they really need to be taken to the infirmary,” Harry reminded Kane.
“Okay, I think I can twist it down a little more.”
"What the hell? You can twist it any tighter?"
Harry's answer wasn't Kane's voice, but the sight of stars before his eyes.
Meanwhile, Hogwarts...
“Ah, I understand, I understand perfectly, Severus, but you and I both know what a mess the Defense Against the Dark Arts professorship is. I don’t see any difference between putting your life where you are and having you serve as a negative-range observer for the Avada Kedavra Curse,” Dumbledore explained, looking at Snape sitting opposite him, who was acting strangely.
"Honestly, I have serious doubts about the survival skills of Hogwarts' young wizards once they leave Hogwarts," Snape said with a cold, sarcastic laugh.
"Hmm, I think it's not bad, is it? At least because of the lack of a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, we haven't just let it go. On the contrary, we've made changes. For example, the young wizards in each house are learning Defense Against the Dark Arts on their own in order to compete with each other. Now, I don't think the upperclassmen of Gryffindor and Slytherin can beat the upperclassmen of Tom's era fifty or sixty years ago," Dumbledore said slowly.
"So you completely disregarded everything and chose a novelist who is... brain-dead, morally corrupt, and professionally incompetent? Letting someone like that teach young wizards, humph, I have serious doubts about what kind of people the young wizards will become."
"Think of it another way: because he is morally corrupt, we are making a contribution to the wizarding world." Dumbledore had just finished speaking when he saw a dark streak of light flying towards them from the horizon.
Snape also saw the streak of light. If he hadn't known that it was impossible, he might have thought that the Dark Lord had successfully resurrected and, for some reason, rushed to Hogwarts to try and kill Dumbledore.
Just as his mind was still racing, the black streak of light was already hurtling towards him, then suddenly whipped its tail around.
Fortunately, Dumbledore had the foresight to open the window and then use Transfiguration magic to create a giant airbag, preventing Kane and the other three from being flattened in Dumbledore's office by the high-speed flesh-wrapped wood.
"You gave them this broom? Y12 Phoenix Tail Powered, ha, Dumbledore, do you have a grudge against them?" Snape glanced at the broom tail stuck in the airbag and sneered.
“Oh…it’s not my fault. Why didn’t you just ask the person involved?” Dumbledore shrugged helplessly. The person involved then stood up from the air sac and used magic to lift the three unconscious Harold and Harrods, leaving them stunned…
"They're probably dead. I'll go dig a hole in the Forbidden Forest later." Kane said quietly, letting the three of them float behind him, then looked apologetically at Dumbledore and Snape in the office.
Should I explain something?
"For example, why did you choose to ride a flying broomstick that you can't stop?" Dumbledore asked with a smile.
“If I were alone, I could certainly stop, but it’s like a truck suddenly braking; the driver is the first to die. It’s similar for me. If I brake suddenly, the three of them might break my thoracic vertebrae,” Kane explained.
"Perhaps that's a decent reason, so why don't you choose the safer and more comfortable train?"
"Believe me, if you don't answer this question clearly, Severus might have to fire all four of you."
Hermione: ? ? ?
Hermione was the first to be overloaded and fall into a coma, and she was also the first to wake up after hearing the word "dismissal".
So much so that when he sat up with a start, Kane was almost startled into jumping up.
