evening......

Fortunately, there were no classes today. I don't know if it's because my teaching is so bad, or if Hermione has cotton stuffed in her ears, but the progress is surprisingly slow.

He talked for almost half a day, and finally, he got Hermione to successfully cast the Swamp spell. Although the swamp disappeared on its own a few seconds later for some unknown reason, it was still a very good start.

Hermione finally breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this. Everything is difficult at the beginning. After succeeding in the first step, she could go back and consolidate her knowledge slowly. Also, she vowed that she would never ask the "talent monster" for questions again.

They genuinely don't teach you the basic principles in their lectures, because those principles are practically muscle memory in their minds. It's not like they've learned them well; it's more like they haven't forgotten them from a past life.

"Alright, let's hurry to the auditorium now. We still have time to have a meal. I won't be able to finish copying the notes today, but I'll return them to you as soon as possible tomorrow." Kane said, standing up and stretching vigorously, making a series of crunching sounds.

"You go eat, I'll find a place to consolidate my energy."

After Hermione finished speaking, Kane immediately chimed in, "Aren't you hungry? Will someone bring you dinner?"

Hearing Kane's devilish murmur, which contained no malice whatsoever but was sincere and revealed his low emotional intelligence, Hermione quickened her pace as she left.

She planned to find a place to secretly collect some small pearls, but without being discovered.

Kane saw Hermione scratching her head in confusion as the forward button was suddenly pressed. Since things had come to this, he figured they should eat first.

the next day.........

Perhaps because of Halloween, all the professors in the castle were busy preparing for the Halloween chapel.

And Kane...

Looking at the three green carving knives and several pumpkins bigger than his head that had inexplicably appeared beside his bed...

Got it! Today is Halloween. Back in the Eternal Realm, we had this classic Halloween event every year. But I've clearly already left the Eternal Realm, haven't I?

"So my bed is a niche of the Brilliant Gate? Probably not, maybe it's just that my shadow sensed the festival and condensed on its own..." Kane muttered, somewhat bewildered, as he picked up the pumpkin and carving knife.

Harry and Ron, who woke up unusually early today, washed their faces as usual. They had gotten used to Kane occasionally saying things they couldn't understand.

Soon, the two, having washed their faces, came out of the bathroom and saw Kane sitting calmly on the sofa, looking lifeless.

He realized that he now had neither the materials to build a Halloween science workbench nor the Pig King to give him any extra rewards.

"I guess I'll just have to carve pumpkins for Halloween this year..." Kane sighed, glancing out of the corner of his eye at a raven decoration next to his pillow...

"Oh well, at least I got it for free." He pinned the raven ornament to his collar and went to his desk to start copying the notes Hermione had taken from second year.

And so, a boring day began. After copying books all morning, it was afternoon. In the Spells class, the three of them sat in the front row by the window, while Hermione sat with Finegan behind them.

After Kane quickly mastered the spell, he lowered his head and began copying notes. Harry and Ron diligently studied their books. Everything was peaceful until Hermione asked to go to the bathroom, and soon after, Kane felt that his seat was getting a little cramped.

Looking up, he saw that Finigan, who had been sitting in the back, had somehow squeezed in with the three of them.

“Now I finally understand why Hermione and her friends have been giving each other the cold shoulder for so long. It’s not much different from sitting next to Hermione than being tortured,” Finnigan muttered, and Harry and Ron nodded in agreement.

They were both academic underachievers. It was fine if they sat far away from Hermione, but if they sat a little closer, they were sure to get a lecture. Seeing Finigan being lectured in the same way, they felt a strong sense of empathy for her.

Kane: ? ? ?

Hmm... If Fenigan does this, won't Hermione get angry and hit him with a hammer?

Soon after Hermione returned from the restroom, she pushed open the door and looked at her seat.

???

My deskmate is gone.

Finnigan looked up somewhat awkwardly, but after seeing Hermione's helpless eyes, she lowered her head again in embarrassment.

In the end, Hermione didn't say anything more or make any physical attacks. She simply sat back down in her original seat. She had made up her mind that she wouldn't go to the dinner party later and would go to the old place to properly "drop the little pearl".

The four students in the front were completely unaware of Hermione's unusual situation in the back. In the blink of an eye, get out of class ended, and Hermione left faster than any of the junior wizards.

“I had a feeling Granger was angry just now?” Ron said, then looked at Finigan beside him. “Why don’t you apologize to her?”

"I'll see her soon, but it's not entirely my fault. After all, nobody likes being criticized by another person." Finigan sighed bitterly. He felt incredibly unlucky today. After saying that, he chased after Neville, who was not far away.

Kane, who was copying notes, noticed that Harry and Ron hadn't left. He lowered his head and said, "You guys go to the Great Hall and save me a good spot. I'll come find you when I'm done copying."

"Then hurry up and finish your notes." Ron said and left the classroom with Harry. Kane continued to copy the last bit of notes by himself, and when he looked up again, fifteen minutes had passed.

He got up and stuffed his own notebook into his pocket, while holding Hermione's in his hand, intending to return it to Hermione when he saw her in the Great Hall. However, after patrolling Litang like a snow leopard, he couldn't find Hermione anywhere.

"Are you looking for Hermione?" a voice called out behind Kane. He turned around and saw Hermione's roommate, Lavender Brown.

“I’ll return her notes.” Kane waved the notes in his hand. Lavender nodded and whispered to Kane, “Most of the time when Hermione can’t find anyone, she’s secretly crying in a women’s restroom on the first floor. You can try your luck there.”

Kane was now truly baffled by Hermione and her friends. A misunderstanding escalated into an argument, which in turn led to conflict and a cold war, during which Kane would even inquire about where Hermione secretly cried...

He didn't understand these complex emotions, but he was deeply moved.

"Thank you, I'll go see what's going on." Kane said, walking towards the restroom Lavender had mentioned. Luckily, the restroom was extremely secluded, otherwise he might have been mistaken for a pervert sneaking into the women's restroom.

Soon, he found the toilet by following his memory of wandering around Hogwarts. If it could still be called a toilet, the once slender and elegant door had been violently smashed open, leaving a hole the size of a tall nut, and the inside reeked of the stench of a fermenting corpse.

"Don't house-elves clean their toilets?" he muttered, glancing inside before his eyes widened in surprise.

"Hiss—Hagrid's troll that he secretly kept at Hogwarts has escaped?"

Chapter Fifty-Three: The Giant!!! Where is it?

After a moment of silence, he realized that Hermione probably wasn't here. Although she was slow to follow his lectures, she was very smart and would never stay here to be the troll's England Hermione pill.

As for the troll, Hagrid should be able to handle it... As for the damage it caused... well, Hogwarts is a large and wealthy family, and while the trolls might be stingy with money for new robes for Muggle wizards, they certainly wouldn't let their little wizards have classes in dilapidated buildings.

Just as he was about to leave, the giant who had been throwing a tantrum in the toilet seemed to get tired and stopped to rest. After the chaotic sounds disappeared, he heard a faint, discordant sobbing sound.

Hmm, he probably didn't underestimate Hermione's brain, but he likely overestimated her legs. After all, Hermione, who was hiding in the toilet secretly dropping her little pearls, was shocked to see the troll bursting in. Her shock was no less than that of a seasoned capitalist warrior seeing Pavel Korchagin. It's normal that she couldn't run away.

He turned back and called out to Hermione, who was hiding somewhere in the bathroom, "Hermione? Can you come out by yourself?"

As the troll caught a glimpse of Kane standing by the toilet door, Hermione's voice rang out at the same time: "I think there's probably no chance, right?"

“Perhaps you could try hitting three and then moving one,” Kane said in a witty remark that only he could understand, just to lighten the mood. Then he pulled his wand out of his pocket and pointed it sharply at the troll.

The troll had already swung his enormous wooden club at Kane, but unfortunately, when the club was less than half a meter away from Kane, it could not advance an inch further.

One after another, purple tentacles with barbs had somehow wrapped around the giant's indistinct limbs and were pulling it forcefully into a bizarre three-dimensional swamp cocoon behind it.

Thanks to the trolls' abstract evolutionary path of allocating all their brain points to their physical bodies, the swamp tentacles were unable to hold them back for a time.

Kane looked at this scene with a helpless smirk. The next moment, the bathroom ceiling light flickered, revealing the giant's shadow. After struggling and clumsily getting up from the ground, Kane punched the giant, embedding it completely into the three-dimensional swamp.

"Ugh, my swamp and tentacles are all dirty now," Kane complained, before finally finding Hermione, who was hugging him and crying her eyes out, in the innermost stall of the restroom.

"Tsk tsk tsk..." Kane shook his head and made a tsk tsk sound: "Poor Hermione, she was so scared by the troll that she started shed little pearls one after another."

Hermione, on the other hand, didn't feel uncomfortable at all about Kane's indiscriminate trash talk. On the contrary, she was so frightened that she needed to find someone to hug her immediately.

With a determined look in her eyes and a loud cry, she lunged forward... That's at least what Harry Ron saw when he arrived with Dumbledore and a whole bunch of professors.

Hermione hugged her own mirror image and cried her heart out, while her shadow lovingly stroked her hair, perhaps chanting some ancient spell, like "a gentle touch will keep you from being scared."

Kane, meanwhile, bent over and picked up pieces of purple meat from the ground, stuffing them into his pocket.

This comical, bizarre, and absurd scene left each professor momentarily stunned. In the end, Professor McGonagall spoke first: "So Mr. Heath and Miss Granger, stop clinging to that shadow that Mr. Heath created. Can anyone tell me where the troll has gone? And are you injured?"

Upon hearing Professor McGonagall's voice, Hermione instinctively couldn't believe what she was hearing. She couldn't believe she was holding...?

What is meant by the shadow created by Kane?

She immediately opened her eyes and looked at what she thought was "Kane" that she had been hugging for a full two minutes. But when she opened her eyes, it really was just a shadow, and judging from the outline of the shadow, it was her own shadow.

In an instant, Hermione, who had initially been just a little shy, evolved into a blushing mess, her entire face turning an unnatural purplish-red. How embarrassing! Especially with so many professors and classmates watching...

It would have been better to have been killed by the troll's blow, ending it all.

Professor McGonagall quickly interrupted her awkwardness and asked, "Please answer my question, gentlemen. Where did that troll go? With a troll in Hogwarts Castle, every young wizard is facing unimaginable danger."

Kane pointed to the monster meat he hadn't finished picking up on the ground: "That's all."

The entire bathroom fell silent. Everyone except Dumbledore, Snape, and Hermione looked on with suspicion and distrust.

The first two had considerable confidence in Kane's ability to cause trouble, while the latter actually glimpsed how the troll was being meticulously chopped into pieces by the tentacles inside the compartment.

Hermione saw that most of the professors looked at her with distrust and felt it was necessary to defend Kane. She took a deep breath and quietly raised her hand.

This time, her hand-raising gesture wasn't as decisive as it usually was in class, but her voice remained as firm as ever: "I can vouch for this; it was indeed the troll that Kane defeated."

Professor McGonagall's voice seemed to be suppressing her anger, because in her eyes, the behavior of these two young wizards was as if they were treating the lives and safety of the other young wizards at Hogwarts as if they didn't exist, all for the sake of their own face and willfulness.

Fortunately, before Professor McGonagall could react, Dumbledore stepped forward with a smile: "Relax, Minerva. We should trust Heath. Of course, I understand your concerns. We can have Mr. Heath demonstrate to us how he defeats the trolls. What do you say?"

After Dumbledore finished speaking, without waiting for Professor McGonagall's agreement, he directly took out the Elder Wand and used Transfiguration to transform it into a one-to-one replica of the troll, even replicating the eerie smell that resembled the fermentation of a dead person's navel perfectly.

Professor McGonagall immediately drew her wand, wary of any attack from the monstrous form of Dumbledore on any of the young wizards present. She then turned to Dumbledore, her expression a mixture of helplessness and anger: "Albus, I don't think now is the time for you to search for talented young wizards..."

Professor McGonagall suddenly couldn't continue speaking because she sensed a strange aura that defied the laws of magic. She instinctively turned around and saw a sinister, bizarre, and absurd cocoon, resembling a child's simple sketch, appearing in the center of this crippled toilet.

One after another, barbed tentacles emerged from the cocoon and grabbed the troll's limbs and torso. For a while, the troll was able to hold out against the cocoon for a short time, but soon another phenomenon that challenged Professor McGonagall's magical intuition occurred.

The shadow beneath the troll's feet struggled to its feet, appearing in reality from two dimensions to three, before finally slamming the troll into the swamp cocoon with a single blow.

“That’s it.” Kane waved his wand, causing the cocoon to disappear. The troll’s shadow also turned into black smoke in an instant, leaving only the endless silence of the crowd.

Chapter Fifty-Four: The Purple Gem Has Arrived

"Hmm, is it ready?" Kane asked quietly.

“Hmm, I think that speaks volumes. Shouldn’t we give Mr. Heath some extra points? Ten points would be fine,” Dumbledore said with a pleased expression.

“That’s how mischievous the little wizards at Hogwarts become.” Professor McGonagall sighed, then looked at Hermione: “Miss Granger, Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley said that Mr. Heath came to find you, so what’s going on with you here? Is it a personal adventure, or have you been locked up here for some unknown reason? Have you been bullied?”

It's no wonder Professor McGonagall asked that question. After all, since the founding of Hogwarts, the girls' restrooms have been arguably the deadliest place in the school. From a few ancient ghosts whose names are unknown to the nearby Myrtle, each one tells a story of the resentment and bitterness of the Hogwarts girls' restrooms.

And now, Hermione, all fresh and lovely, is playing hide-and-seek with the troll in the girls' restroom once again. If Kane weren't here, it would be hard to imagine that Hogwarts wouldn't have another girls' restroom tragedy.

"So, Miss Granger, did any other junior wizards or professors lure you into this women's restroom, or even lock you in here?"

Hermione quickly shook her head. She had come here secretly to drop the little pearls. Although her roommates also knew the location, they didn't think they had the ability to let a troll into Hogwarts, and they weren't that kind of people.

“Well, now it should be clear that it was just a coincidence. Minerva, go and call all the little wizards out. The Halloween dinner will continue.”

Dumbledore told everyone else to leave first, while he stayed behind to repair the toilet that had been torn to pieces by the trolls.

Unlike the other two professors, Flitwick and Sprout, who rushed back to call their students.

Snape and Professor McGonagall slowed their pace. Snape intended to ask Kane if the purple flesh he had put in his pocket had any special use, while McGonagall clearly wanted to get more information about trolls from Kane and Hermione.
