逃出饥荒的我被霍格沃茨录取了
Author: Xing Qisan
Summary:
You'd better find something to eat before dark.
This was the first thing Kane heard after he ran away from the Dursleys' house.
Okay, I knew I didn't completely escape when I left the world of Don't Starve...
Fortunately, his ability to manipulate his shadow still exists in the world of Don't Starve. This not only allows him to escape the tragedy of running away from home and starving to death, or being killed by invading shadow monsters every night, but also brings him other benefits in this world.
Wait... what do you mean by "being granted the title of Azkaban VIP for using dark magic in front of Muggles"?
Dumbledore blushed and quickly snatched the envelope from Kane's hand, replacing it with another one.
Hogwarts acceptance letter, this time it's working.

Chapter One: Escaping the Famine World and the Dursleys' House!
“If you dare to walk out this door, don’t ever come back! Anyway, I don’t have any adoption papers for you!” Vernon Dursley put down the TV remote and shouted at the thin figure in the entryway.
After putting on his shoes in the entryway, Kanehis turned to look at Vernon Desley and Pene Desley, who was busy in the kitchen.
"In any case, Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, I am grateful for the lodging you have provided me with without asking for anything in return this past month. Please rest assured, I will not be coming back. When Harry and Dudley return, please say goodbye to them for me."
After Kane finished speaking, he pushed open the door and left the Dursleys' house, walking onto the sidewalk of Privet Drive.
The shadows cast on the street in the afternoon slowly formed a tall, elegant man that only Kane could see.
The man raised an eyebrow and said, "Kane, you don't look too good right now."
“If it weren’t for you, Maxwell, I wouldn’t be in such a bad state. What do you have to say?” Kane glanced at the man only he could see, the king of the Eternal Realm from the world of Famine.
“Of course,” Maxwell said. “Let’s find something to eat before dark.”
"Thank you, I'll sneak around in the trash cans by myself at night," Kane said quietly.
“What I mean is, you’re only eleven years old. Can’t you find a more dignified way to live?” Maxwell said quietly.
"If you want to convince me to accept the shadows of the Eternal Realm and be entangled by them, please keep your mouth shut. I barely escaped from there," Kane said coldly.
“Sigh.” Maxwell sighed. “Kane, Kane, you are so naive. From the moment you stepped into the Eternal Realm, you were already being targeted by them. Even if you escaped, it would be the same. The reason you haven’t seen them is because I’ve been holding them off for you. But now, I think it’s time for you to take that step yourself.”
Kane raised his eyelids and glanced at Maxwell: "So?"
"As I always say, find something to eat before dark." Maxwell finished speaking and then smiled as he pulled a padlock-like black shadow from the shadow at Kane's feet.
In an instant, Kane felt as if he had been reconnected to something terrifying. The black shadow that had been imprisoned burst out of his body and filled the shadow beneath his feet, before he quickly regained control of it.
"It's time to embrace our true nature, Kane. Farewell." Then, with a bang, he vanished.
Kane turned around, looked at the shadow at his feet that was gradually becoming menacing, frowned, and clicked his tongue: "Behave yourself!"
The shadow shuddered and immediately became docile.
At dusk, Harry and Dudley entered the Dursleys' house. Dudley went straight to the kitchen and ransacked the refrigerator, eventually finding a bottle of ice-cold Coke, which he drank to his heart's content.
Harry carefully brushed the dust off his clothes, picked up the mop from his bedroom downstairs in the stairwell, and wiped away the footprints Dudley had left on the floor.
After doing all this, he carefully poured himself a glass of water, drank it as quietly as possible, and then began searching for a figure throughout the first floor.
Unfortunately, he ultimately failed to find it.
"Uncle, where is Kane?" Harry walked slowly up to Vernon Dursley, who was reading a newspaper, and asked softly but firmly.
“She ran away from home,” Vernon said, flipping through the newspaper.
Harry frowned. "You kicked him out? Why?"
Vernon angrily crumpled the newspaper into a ball and threw it into the fireplace: "I didn't adopt you two so you could ask me all sorts of questions, and I didn't kick Kanehis out of the house; he left on his own."
Harry dropped his pretense of meekness: "So you just let him go? He had no money, he didn't eat dinner, and you didn't even go looking for him!"
"Anyway, we never adopted him." Vernon snorted and picked up the remote to watch TV.
Dudley came rushing over at that moment, and with the force of the locomotive, he knocked Harry aside, almost causing him to fall into the fireplace.
“Isn’t it good that Kane is gone? My house isn’t an orphanage.” Dudley sat on his father’s lap, the poor sofa bearing a terrible weight that had not been anticipated in the original design.
Penny came down from upstairs and stood at the top of the stairs, saying, "Don't worry about him. Mrs. Figg said he's performing magic at Plum Blossom Cross Street not far away. He'll come back when he's hungry."
Vernon snorted coldly: "Hmph, he's been here for over a month and hasn't even offered to perform magic for us. What a heartless bastard."
Upon hearing that Kane was at Plum Cross Road, Harry immediately went to the entrance to put on his shoes. Vernon, seeing this, felt his authority had been challenged: "If you dare to go out today, don't come back!"
Harry, however, stood his ground: "I'm not like Kane. You are my guardians. If you don't come out to find me, the police will come for you!" With that, Harry decisively dashed out, leaving Vernon Dursley sitting on the sofa, raging helplessly.
Soon, Harry jogged to Plum Cross Street and saw Kane standing on the side of the street, surrounded by several girls.
At that moment, Kane stood on tiptoe and placed a black hat on the head of one of the girls. Then he lifted the hat off, and the girl's originally loose hair was combed up by the force of the hat being lifted.
In the end, it magically transformed into a youthful and adorable hairstyle.
The girl's friends were all amazed when they saw the hairpin. The girl herself took out a mirror and looked at her hairpin. Overjoyed, she hugged Kane and kissed him on the cheek. Then she took out ten pounds from her wallet and put it in Kane's hat.
"Thank you, elegant little magician." After saying this, the girl took two steps back and handed Kane over to her friend.
Just as the other person was happily squatting down in front of Kane, Kane saw Harry Potter standing not far away and immediately felt apologetic: "Sorry, I think special magic can only be given to special people, right?"
"I think you only did magic tricks for Emily because you think she's prettier than us. But we've been waiting here for so long, you have to make it up to us," the girl squatting in front of him said resentfully, resting her chin on her hand.
Kane looked at Harry as he approached with a hint of helplessness: "Of course there will be compensation."
As he spoke, Kane stretched out a hand, the back of his hand facing the light source of a street lamp not far away, while the shadow in his palm slowly twisted.
With a swift movement, three jet-black roses appeared in Kane's hand. He gave one rose to each of the three girls, then without a word, put his hat on his head and left, heading towards the direction without streetlights.
"Hmm, cute little brother, why do I feel like he's avoiding us?" Emily said with a hint of helplessness, holding the black rose in her hand.
"No, he's hiding from me!" Harry's voice came from behind the three of them, and then he ran past them quickly.
Chapter Two: Encountering a Shadow in the Early Morning While Sleeping, Unable to Defeat Despite All Efforts
Harry ran quickly toward the alley where Kane had gone.
Kane, upon seeing Harry running towards him, knew exactly what he wanted: to take him back to the Dursleys' house.
In Kane's mind, Mr. and Mrs. Dursley were good people. After all, they really took Kane, who had just transmigrated, home and took care of him for a month without asking for anything in return.
Regardless of whether they lived in a stairwell or not, at least they were sheltered from the wind and rain. Kane was grateful to them from the bottom of his heart. However, gratitude aside, he really didn't want to live with them because the Dursleys' talent for psychological violence could really shorten a person's lifespan.
Harry's ability to endure it is due to his exceptional talent; I don't have that talent.
Harry quickly entered the alley where Kane was hiding. Kane was hiding behind an abandoned car. Looking at Harry walking towards him in the rearview mirror, Kane had a thought. His shadow, which had merged with the alley, slowly twisted into several not-so-cute puppies, which rushed out of the shadow and howled at Harry.
Harry frowned, picked up an iron pipe from the ground to bolster his courage: "Kane, come out, let's go back. Uncle Vernon was just saying that out of anger. Aunt Petunia even asked Mrs. Figg about your whereabouts. As long as you go back, they'll all selectively forget."
Kane stepped out from behind the car with a hint of helplessness: "More likely, they'll laugh at me, and I don't like that feeling."
Harry sighed, "It's just psychological violence, isn't it? At least you can eat your fill every day and have a place to sleep where you can shelter from the wind and rain."
Kane retorted, "This place isn't bad either. It's just that I'm exposed to the wind, sun, and rain and don't have food to eat, but at least no one will verbally abuse me."
For the first time, Harry couldn't believe he was actually saying those words: "Can't you be a little more mature?"
Kane shook his head: "I've been mature before, and what maturity has taught me is that maturity won't bring you any spiritual benefits. I really can't bear to let my fragile spirit dance on swords for a little bit of material things. So Harry, go home and eat, or Dudley might eat all of yours."
Ha Li shook his head vigorously: "You're coming back with me!"
Kane sighed. If bribery didn't work, he'd have to resort to coercion.
"If you don't go back soon, these two might bite you." After saying that, Kane controlled the two shadow beasts to rush towards Harry without saying another word. Of course, he didn't really intend to hurt him. He just used the shadows to blind Harry's eyes and make him blind for a while.
"Alright, let's go home, Harry, let's go home." Kane said, walking towards Harry and trying to help him out of the alley.
Harry was momentarily stunned by the blindness, but he quickly realized that it must have been Kane who did it. He had long known that Kane was different from ordinary people, just like him. He had experienced things like suddenly making a piece of glass disappear or falling from a height without getting hurt.
Previously, the only thing that Kane seemed extraordinary to him was his shadow, which would sometimes bar its teeth and claws and then quickly return to normal. Now, the feeling that he couldn't see anything at all was probably the first time he had experienced Kane's amazingness.
Once he realized that Kane was the one who caused his strange behavior, he was no longer afraid. He then grabbed the hand that was supporting his shoulder and tried to drag Kane out of the alley.
“Harry, you’re really stubborn.” Kane manipulated the eerie shadow claws, making them mimic his own resistance as Harry slowly dragged him out of the alley.
Soon, Harry, who had regained his sight, gradually felt that the "Kane" behind him was struggling less, and he felt a little relieved. He looked back and saw that there was no Kane there.
The hand he was holding so tightly was just a dark shadow, and now, that shadow has suddenly disappeared.
Oh, not completely vanished; the shadow materialized into a mouth and spoke Kane's voice.
"Bye-bye Harry, I still have somewhere to go, Sayonara."
Harry gritted his teeth: "Can't you speak English?!"
As soon as Harry finished speaking, the last shadow belonging to Kane vanished with a bang.
"Fine, fine..." Harry gritted his teeth, looking at the now empty alleyway behind him: "I pray I don't find you, that evil Shadow Imp, I'll definitely..."
Harry paused abruptly at this point: "If I can beat you then, I'll make you pay!"
Kane was unaware that Harry had already put him on his kill list because of his abrupt departure from home. He had arrived at a run-down and somewhat unprofessional motel.
There are advantages to being legitimate, such as safety, and there are also advantages to being illegitimate, such as Kane being able to rent a small room even without identification.
However, in order to avoid attracting the covetous eyes of this shady motel owner, he found a small alley beforehand and hid most of the money he earned from performing magic in some hidden pockets of his clothes, only taking a small portion and leaving it haphazardly in the visible pockets, like a poor child who couldn't find a second coin on his person, effectively preventing the unscrupulous owner from attacking him at night.
"Boss, how long will this money cover?" Kane piled up a bunch of crumpled banknotes and coins at the hotel counter. The boss glanced at them and immediately recognized the approximate amount: "About two days, with a private bathroom, but no breakfast, lunch, or dinner."
Kane nodded, took the key, and found a room. Overall, it was pretty good; the room wasn't big but it wasn't crowded either. He quickly washed up and went straight to bed. He was exhausted today and needed to sleep.
Meanwhile, Harry, back at the Dursleys' house, dejectedly opened the door, closed it, and slipped on his slippers.
Vernon, who was watching TV, said sullenly, "There's food in the kitchen. You two eat and then go to sleep!"
As he spoke, he turned off the TV and headed upstairs, as if it were unforgivable for Harry and Kane to have even the slightest bit of entertainment in his house, and he didn't want them to hear the sound of the TV.
“Kane didn’t come back, it’s just me.” Harry said, picking up his own portion with a hint of disappointment.
Vernon, halfway up the stairs, stopped: "He's not back? Where is he now?"
